Chapter 21

As Vilgax closed in on them, Ben looked over at Charmcaster and whispered, "Well, our Omnitrixes are still off. Any other ideas?" "Just one," Charmcaster replied, "And I don't know that it'll work. But it worked on his minion..." she glanced over at Psyphon's headless body, and then looked up at Vilgax, and then her hands shined.

She held them out towards Vilgax, and then pulled them backwards-attempting to do the same telekinesis trick that had killed Psyphon-and some of Vilgax's tentacles were pulled out towards her. "Fool!" Vilgax bellowed, "That won't work on me!" Then he fired lasers out of his own eyes, which clocked Charmcaster and sent her flying against the remains of his ship. She lay there, unconscious.

"Charmcaster!" Ben yelled, getting to his feet, but Vilgax snarled back, "Forget about it, boy! She can't do anything more, and neither can you." Then he grabbed Ben, and began to lift the struggling hero over his head, preparing to snap his neck as well. "BEN!" Kevin yelled, who had been watching the transpiring events helplessly.

It was then that a purple streak shot out of nowhere, and grabbed Ben before Vilgax could execute him, and set him on the ground. Ben shook himself, and saw... an Anodite? "Gwen?" he asked hesitantly. His cousin, now in full Anodite form, nodded, and turned around towards Vilgax. "You don't want to do that!" she called at him, and Vilgax glared at her. "Can't you people ever stay dead?!" he snarled, aiming a kick at her. He missed, and Gwen flew up, and threw a larger, more powerful bolt of mana at him, which pushed him back a little.

"Impressive," Vilgax smirked, "But you should've thought to start doing that a long time ago when you actually had a chance, Anodite. Maybe you should've been here for your friends!" Gwen ignored him, and then charged him in the air almost Superman-like, pushing him backwards a fair distance, before Vilgax shook it off and spun away. Gwen charged back for another round, but Vilgax managed to snatch her out of the air. She then struggled as Vilgax began to pull her over his head, before he dropped her, yelling in pain-his hands were burning, caused by Gwen heating up her body temperature which caused her to glow.

"Can't touch me, can ya?" Gwen yelled back at him, before launching some more mana at him, sending him backwards. Vilgax then blasted her with his laser vision, sending her flying backwards, but she regained control, and turned around. Then she launched a mana cord and twirled it around Vilgax, sending him flying up miles into the air, where he disappeared from sight for a brief second before coming back down and smashing into the ground.

Once the dust cleared, Vilgax then grabbed Gwen by the throat. Gwen started glowing again, and Vilgax's hands started smoking again, but he gritted his teeth and shook it off. "ENOUGH!" he yelled, smashing her down into the ground. "You may be the most powerful species in the universe, but you still cannot defeat me. And you must know why now."

"You're right," Gwen replied, "I do know why. But you're also wrong-because I can defeat you." Then she sent a bolt of mana directly in the direction of the device that had disabled the Omnitrixes, destroying it. Ben's Omnitrix came back online. "Charmcaster!" he yelled, going over to her to wake her up, shaking her for a moment. "Wha..." Charmcaster mumbled, clearly dazed. Then she noticed that her Omnitrix was back online too, and she nodded.

Meanwhile, Vilgax glared at Gwen and snarled, "Infidel! You still cannot defeat me, even with your Omnitrixes back." "You don't know anything about Anodites, do you?" Gwen asked, and then threw another mana cord and quickly tied up Vilgax. Vilgax fell to the ground, struggling to break it, but then Gwen grabbed him by the head, closed her eyes, and then what appeared to be energy started getting sucked out of Vilgax. "Wha... what are you doing?!" Vilgax shrieked, and Gwen replied, "Taking back the power you stole."

Once it was over, Gwen pulled back, now glowing even more, seeing as she was now more powerful than before. She had just absorbed all the Anodite energy Vilgax had within him, leaving him seemingly smaller as well as less formidable. Still stuck in the cords, he struggled, even though he had no chance of breaking them now without Anodite power of his own to counter her.

"Ben?" Gwen glanced over at him. "Do the honors." "With pleasure," Ben replied, pushing down the button on his Omnitrix, transforming into... "WAY BIG!" he yelled, and then walked over in Vilgax's direction with one step. Gwen moved back. "No... you can't!" Vilgax yelled as Way Big raised his foot... and then stomped on him. No longer mostly invincible, the power of Way Big's foot killed him instantly.

Ben reverted back, and then as he looked over to Gwen, she was reverting back into her human form as well. Kevin and Charmcaster, who both were bruised, came to join them as well. "Wow... we actually did it," Charmcaster commented. "Yes we did," Ben replied. Then Gwen walked over, and began, "Listen guys... I'm sorry about everything, okay? You were right. I was getting blinded."

Then she turned to Charmcaster and told her, "And I'm really sorry for treating you the way I did. I know everything now-I know you aren't what I thought you were." "Wait..." Charmcaster narrowed her eyes, "You know everything? How?" "I ran into some of your old friends," Gwen replied. "I didn't know there were even any left," Charmcaster sighed, putting on a distant look for a moment. Then she snapped back to reality and told Gwen, "Don't worry about it. I've made some bad decisions, so it was probably about time I got something for it." The two then smiled at each other.

"Great, are they gonna be besties now?" Ben asked Kevin. Kevin shrugged, and after a moment, Kevin asked, "Now what do we do?" "We try to find a way home," Gwen replied, "I don't know that it's possible, but Verdona said it was."

"It is," Charmcaster replied, "I've got a way for you get home."
