The Legendary Sannin Showdown
I don't own Digimon or Naruto
Daisuke stood in a clearing with Jiraiya and Naruto. Jiraiya had a bucket of water balloons in his left hand and a bucket of rubber balls in his right hand. "Okay, so how do I complete the Rasengan?" Naruto and Jiraiya shared a look and smiled.
"Well Daisuke, you're going to learn how I had Naruto learn it," Jiraiya answered as he set the two buckets on the ground.
"And how do I do that? And what am I doing wrong in the first place?" she asked making Naruto and Jiraiya look at her. "Something on my face?" she asked them confused.
"No. here catch," Naruto said tossing a water balloon to her and she caught it careful not to burst it. "The first step….rotation."
"Rotation?" Daisuke asked looking at the water balloon.
"Yup. This is the first of three steps to forming the Rasengan; first you have to rotate the water inside the balloon using only your chakra," Naruto told her and Jiraiya nodded in agreement with what he said.
"Okay….so you think you can give me a demonstration?" Daisuke asked with a cute pout and fluttering her eyelids.
"Su-," Naruto was cut off by Jiraiya and the blonde looked at him.
"Sorry Daisuke, but I am afraid you need to learn this on your own. But we'll watch and tell you when you've got it down," he said to the redheaded Uchiha who nodded and looked down at the balloon.
"Simple enough, rotate the chakra around the balloon to emphasise the rotation," she thought as she focused and poured chakra into the balloon. It immediately burst soaking her hand. "Was that it?" she asked but Jiraiya laughed.
"Nope. You just burst the balloon with your chakra, try using less chakra. You have less chakra then Naruto because you're not a Jinchuriki like him, and you have more control over your chakra so concentrate harder." Daisuke frowned before nodding and picked up another balloon. She glared at it, her face scrunching up in frustration. The balloon suddenly bulged and strained as the water within it spun around ferociously but refused to burst the balloon. She paused for a second. Rotation huh? What was she thinking; she already knew how to do that.
"Watatsumi allows me to copy shape transformation jutsu like this one, so…" she trailed off mentally and activated her Sharingan. "Watatsumi." The water balloon bulged and then burst. "I did it!" she cheered, and Jiraiya spoke up.
"Nice work kid, you got it faster than Naruto did," he praised her and Daisuke smiled while Naruto pouted. "Now for the next stage, you're going to need one of these." He tossed a rubber ball to Daisuke. "Now you need to burst this, and since there is no water inside it and it is made of rubber this step is to emphasize power,"
"So I need to pop it using more power than the first stage?" Daisuke asked and Jiraiya nodded "Sounds easy," she commented and this made Jiraiya guffaw.
"Naruto thought the same exact thing, but he spent a week trying to burst the ball instead of creating a small hole letting the air out of the ball," he told her and Naruto winced playfully at his sensei's comment.
"Okay, here we go," Daisuke said before she started to focus and after a few seconds she heard a hissing sound and saw the ball had deflated. "Darn".
"Okay that's enough for today," Jiraiya told her. "You'll want to be fresh when practicing this stage, especially considering your chakra reserves are large for your age, but can't even begin touch mine or Naruto's."
"But I only have until the end of the week. That's three days away," Daisuke protested.
"Well, wake up bright and early tomorrow then." Daisuke grumbled as she walked off back to the place the three were staying, followed by Naruto and the Toad Sage. As Daisuke was getting ready for bed she heard a knock on the door and when she opened it she saw Shizune standing there.
"Daisuke, I need to talk to you," she told her and Daisuke nodded before she let the young women into the room.
"What is-," the redheaded Uchiha was cut off by Shizune.
"I want you to reconsider your wager with Lady Tsunade, that necklace she offered is cursed," she told Daisuke who snickered.
"Cursed? Really? Do you take me for an idiot?" she asked once she stopped laughing.
"No! I'm serious, whoever holds that necklace apart from Lady Tsunade dies shortly afterwards. Her husband Dan Kato who was my uncle and her brother Nawaki were both given the necklace by Lady Tsunade, but died only days later. My uncle's death was the reason that she left the village," Shizune explained.
"So, you're saying that I should be afraid just because of some unfortunate coincidences? Did that old hag send you here in an effort to weasel out of this bet because she knows she will lose?" Daisuke asked her.
"I came of my own choice. And I'm not asking you to back out to let Tsunade win, I'm trying to tell you just how much the necklace means to her. It's not something to be coveted, no matter how much gold it's worth. Please understand, she has lost so much."
"So have I! I lost my whole clan in one night, and I lost my parents. Don't you dare take to me about loss, now get out. I'm winning this bet and I am dragging that drunk's ass back to Konoha even if it kills me!" Daisuke shouted as she pushed Shizune out of her room and slammed the door in her face. "Did she honestly think that I would go back on this bet just because Tsunade has had a rough life? All shinobi and kunoichi have rough lives and lose loved ones? What makes her so special?" With those thoughts Daisuke fell asleep, ready for the next day of her attempts to master the Rasengan before weeks end.
"You almost got it Daisuke," Naruto told her the next morning but Daisuke shot him a dirty glare as she held yet another deflated rubber ball in her hand and surrounding her were several more deflated rubber balls. Her palms were raw from chakra burns.
"Almost? I keep deflating the balls, instead of popping them," she protested.
"Well, add as much power as you can and make sure to keep the spinning of the first stage. You keep losing the first stage when you add power, you have to have them both," Naruto explained.
"How'd you know that?" Daisuke asked him.
"I….kinda did the same thing you're doing as well for the first several tries," he answered sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. Daisuke sighed before she picked up another rubber ball.
"Okay. Let's try this again." Daisuke immediately began pumping chakra into the sphere but tried to rotate it like she did with the balloon. She gritted her teeth; when she concentrated on rotation she lost power, and when she concentrated on power she lost rotation. Daisuke almost activated her Sharingan again, but decided against it. She would learn this jutsu on her own merits. "Almost there," she muttered. Finally she was beginning to see the pattern. The rubber ball bulged before it exploded with a resounding loud bang. "I did it!" she cheered happily and Naruto grinned and he applauded her.
"Great work Dai, and now it's time for you to master the last stage," he told her before he held his hands out and created a Rasengan. "This comprises of combining the other two stages together. If you thought combining power and rotation was hard, just try to create a shell around it as well," he said. Daisuke nodded before she held her hand out and she concentrated and a light blue sphere of pure chakra started to slowly form in her hand but it dissipated quickly.
"This is gonna be difficult," she admitted.
"Yeah, it is the hardest part of the learning the Rasengan. I had to use Shadow Clones for a while as you saw during our fight with Gaara," Naruto told her.
"Yeah, but I can't do Shadow Clones like you do. Not unless I want to die from chakra depletion."
"Well, keep trying Daisuke," Naruto encouraged and she nodded, concentrating hard. A Rasengan formed in her hand, sending swirls of chakra in all directions that acted as a wind and blew her hair back. Naruto sighed. "You have to contain it Daisuke or the power is too dispersed to do much damage." She nodded and began to focus again. Seeing that she was having trouble, Naruto blew several air balloons while she practiced and brought them to her. "Here's a shortcut. Form a Rasengan in this balloon without popping it." Daisuke looked at the balloons and nodded before resuming practice, this time trying to create a shell within a balloon. Hours passed in this manner, and soon the balloons took longer and longer to pop.
"I'm not giving up until I get this right," Daisuke growled as she stood in front of a tree, she held her hand out in front of her and the Rasengan managed to form. "RASENGAN!" she roared slamming the jutsu into the tree. It tore into the tree before dissipating and Daisuke managed a small grin as she saw a hole in the tree before passing out from exhaustion.
"I don't believe it. The kid actually managed to get this far in two days, I'm impressed," Tsunade said walking out from behind a tree and she looked at Daisuke's peaceful expression. She smiled slightly before she walked off.
"Interesting, she managed to get this far in learning the Fourth Hokage's famous jutsu, Lord Orochimaru should hear of this," Kabuto said as he stepped out of the shadows before he vanished in a body flicker.
Tsunade had arrived at the local bar and was drinking a glass of liquor when she saw Jiraiya sit beside her. "Can I help you?" she asked pouring another glass before downing it.
"Can't I catch up with an old friend?" he asked pouring himself a glass of liquor. He drank it and shuddered at the taste slightly. "That's strong stuff."
"Just what I like," Tsunade said and silence remained for a few minutes between the two old friends and former teammates. "You can't convince me to come back Jiraiya. You know how much pain I have suffered back home."
"I know. But I know you Tsunade, you're one of the strongest people in the world. You're perfect to take up the title as Hokage, and make your grandfather, grand-uncle and Sarutobi-sensei proud." His face grew serious. "I know Orochimaru offered you something in exchange for healing him. Don't be foolish, whatever he promises you is not worth the price,"
"Thanks for the advice, but I know what I am doing," Tsunade told him before she stood and left Jiraiya who drunk the rest of his drink and he walked off as well.
The next day Daisuke was in her room preparing for the day when Naruto came into the room. "Naruto? What's up?" she asked him.
"Have you seen Pervey Sage?" Daisuke shook her head and Shizune ran into the room.
"What do you want?" Daisuke asked her with some hostility.
"It's Lady Tsunade, she's gone," Shizune answered making Naruto and Daisuke gasp.
"What do you mean gone?" Naruto asked her, Jiraiya then stumbled into the room. "What the hell happened to you? Did you get drunk last night?"
"Damn it gaki, Tsunade did this to me. She drugged me with an odourless and tasteless drug that has screwed up my chakra control," he snapped.
"Oh dear," Shizune said as she set about healing Jiraiya and purging him of the drug.
"What's wrong? Where is Tsunade?" Naruto asked.
"She's gone to Orochimaru. He offered to bring back her dead brother and husband in exchange for healing his arms," Shizune said.
"Is she mad? There's no way Orochimaru will go through with it, or maybe they'll be under his control or something," Daisuke guessed.
"We need to stop her," Naruto said.
"Right, come on," Daisuke said as she and Naruto ran off.
"Wait up!" Jiraiya shouted as he followed after them with Shizune behind him. They caught up to the two Genin standing in front of a massive hole in a wall and Tsunade's jacket was on the ground.
"Tsunade's angry," Naruto said and Daisuke nodded before she bit her thumb and weaved through hand signs.
"SUMMONING JUTSU!" she shouted slamming her palm down on the ground and Raiden appeared in a puff of smoke.
"What do you need kid?" he asked her.
"Raiden, can you track the person this jacket belongs to?" Daisuke asked him. He nodded before he sniffed the jacket in question and barked before running off. "Good boy." She followed after him and Naruto, Shizune, and Jiraiya followed after her. As the four of them followed Raiden they heard sounds of a battle nearby. Soon they came upon a large field covered in craters and Tsunade was chasing after Kabuto and Orochimaru.
"I think she refused the offer," Naruto commented as they saw Kabuto slice his hand and blood poured out. Tsunade froze up and she was kicked back by him and she rolled across the ground shaking uncontrollably. "What's wrong with her?" Naruto then asked as he and Daisuke helped up Tsunade.
"She's got haemophilia, she's afraid of blood," Jiraiya answered.
"What kind of medic is scared of blood?" Daisuke asked.
"Well, well, if it isn't my old friend Jiraiya," Orochimaru hissed as Daisuke saw a headband on Kabuto's head that had the Sound village symbol on it.
"Kabuto!" she shouted.
"Hello Daisuke, Naruto, so nice to see you again," He said with a smirk.
"You traitorous heap of dog shit! I knew I should have trusted my gut about you being a spy," Daisuke said angrily.
"I hear ya," Naruto agreed.
"Are you two really going to fight me? I am stronger than both of you," Kabuto said coolly.
"Naruto, Daisuke stay back. I'll handle Orochimaru," Jiraiya told them.
"And we've got Kabuto. Shizune, take care of Tsunade," Daisuke said and Shizune nodded. Kabuto bit his thumb and ran the blood across a tattoo on Orochimaru's arm before he performed hand signs.
"SUMMONING JUTSU!" he shouted and a large plume of smoke appeared and two giant brown snakes appeared and hissed.
"Oh nuts!" Naruto exclaimed.
"EARTH STYLE: SWAMP OF THE UNDERWORLD!" Daisuke shouted weaving through handsigns and the two snakes started to sink into a large pool of deep mud. She didn't have enough chakra to drown them, but they were unable to escape easily. "Really? Was that it Kabuto? If you're so strong prove it," she taunted him making Kabuto frown at her.
"You're going to regret those words," he told her. He held his hands out and they became covered in chakra. Kabuto ran at Daisuke who rolled out of the way. Naruto jumped over Kabuto but he swung his hand and Naruto thought he had missed until he landed on his legs and one of them gave out. "Medical ninjutsu can be used for more than healing. I'm out of your league kids," Kabuto said with a smug grin on his face.
"Don't get cocky you bastard, I'm not down yet," Daisuke told him.
"She's got you there Kabuto." Naruto felt his injury begin to heal as he felt Kyuubi's chakra course through his body. "SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!" Naruto shouted. He made ten clones who all ran at Kabuto, but all were defeated in moments.
"Was that all you got?"
"FIRE STYLE: FIREBALL JUTSU!" Daisuke shouted as she breathed a massive fireball towards him.
"WIND STYLE: GREAT BREAKTHROUGH!" Naruto shouted as he breathed a massive gust of wind and the wind fanned the fireball, turning it into a white inferno that headed right towards Kabuto.
"I can't block that," he thought and he resorted to substation with a rock which exploded when the fireball collided with it. "Nice try, but you still won't defeat me."
"Oh yeah?" Naruto asked as he held his hands out and a Rasengan formed. "RASENGAN!" he shouted running at Kabuto. As he neared Kabuto the Sound Ninja dodged the attack and he tapped Naruto's spine with a glowing hand. Naruto collapsed as he felt almost everything under the neck turn numb as his spine was severed. "Agh!" he screamed in pain.
"Naruto!" Daisuke shouted in worry before she snarled and her Mangekyo Sharingan activated. "You're going to pay for that!" she promised Kabuto who smirked.
"Well then, let's see if that will happen," he said before he ran at Daisuke, his hands once again covered in chakra. He tried to attack Daisuke but she dodged around his attacks much to his irritation. "Fighting the Sharingan is irritating, but not impossible. All I need to do is approach you with an attack you can't dodge!" Kabuto put on a burst of speed and blurred towards Daisuke. She tried to dodge but he managed to sever her leg muscles, causing her to collapse onto her knees before he retreated.
Daisuke swore. "It's time to end this," she said and her Susanoo manifested, drawing the attention of Orochimaru who licked his lips hungrily. One of Daisuke's Susanoo's arms grabbed Kabuto while the second hand held itself out to Daisuke. A perfect Rasengan formed in its hand which made Tsunade snap out of her stupor.
"She did it," she mumbled.
"Take this! SUSANOO RASENGAN!" Daisuke shouted as her Susanoo slammed the Rasengan into Kabuto's chest making him scream before he was sent flying like a pinwheel into a boulder and he slumped to the ground. Powering through the agony in his torso, he covertly flicked a soldier pill into his mouth and immediately felt his healing get to work on his injuries while he played unconscious.
"Amazing," Jiraiya mumbled right before Orochimaru kicked him away and sunk into the ground escaping. "Damn!"
"Dai that was amazing," Naruto told Daisuke as he got to his feet the injury on his back healed up.
"Nice going kid," Jiraiya told her and she nodded before she turned to Tsunade.
"I won. Pay up," she said holding her hand up and grinning at Tsunade who shook her head.
"Yeah, you did. Here you go kid, you earned it." She handed handing the necklace to Daisuke. Moments later, a smoke bomb was thrown in the centre of everyone and obscured their vision.
"HELP!" Daisuke's voice was heard shouting as the smoke cleared and Naruto saw Kabuto holding his friend.
"DAI!" he shouted running towards Kabuto who kicked him back and he vanished in a cloud of smoke, leaving behind only the necklace lying on the group, before Shizune or the two Sannin could stop him. "NO!" Naruto shouted punching the ground angrily.
