Hi everyone~ Welcome to the final chapter of my story! Looking back, i'm realizing this story isn't as sad and unforchunate until recently... lol Also, sorry for the lack of updates! I've been really sick and had to make a lot of catch-up work done. Damn you teachers.. Also, have a happy Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, whatever you may celebrate and a happy new year~
Anyway, let's go! I don't know pokemon, i've said that this entire time!
Final Chapter
Rook's PMV
Kiara disapeared into the fog of the Roar of Time as I charged. Dialga simply raised a claw and threw me to the ground, knocking the air out of my lungs. I lay there, momentarily paralyzed. I saw a Flamethrower erupt from the smoke and the ground trembled with Dialga's counterattack. Crap, anymore of this and Temporal Tower will collapse... I thought, knowing I had to end this fast.
I got up used Quick Attack so I could stay ay a couple feet distance. Better than running up to his feet. I threw some X-eye seeds so I could get in and finish him. Moving inwards, I met up with Kiara and used some close range attacks, Dialga swinging wildly left and right, knocking Kiara to the ground.
"RAAAAAH!" I screamed in vengeance, not wanting to lose another dear friend. I went in just as Dialga slipped out of illusion. He swatted me right through a marble column. I screamed in pain and fear i'd fall off Temporal Tower. I braced for impact and hit another column, saving me from a fall. I glanced down for a moment and went to re-join Kiara. I was limping, so I had to stop midway in my pain. Kiara slid backwards, I noticed she was huffing.
Kiara pulled out a Oran Berry and squeezed the juice on her wounds, rolling one to me. I mouthed thanks and ate it, knowing the pain was on the inside. Feeling healed, I charged up once again and Kiara used Confuse Ray to buy us some damage. I used Helping Hand to aid Kiara and used Quick Attack a couple more times followed by a Blast Seed.
Kiara dashed to the side of Dialga and lunged, beginning to crawl up his leg.
Kiara, what are you doing?! I wanted to scream, but no sound came out. The effect of Roar of Time, maybe? Kiara glanced over her shoulder once she was on Dialga's back, nodding as if she wanted me to follow. Reluctantly, I ran up and followed her path to Dialga's back.
He's snapping out of it. Kiara mouthed. We have to finish this fast. She nodded twice, gesturing to the alter with the abandoned Time Gears. I nodded too. Kiara let loose a couple flamethrowers as I crawled up to Dialga's neck. Dialga was out off illusion, waving his head around wildly, trying to shake me off. I dug my claws into his rock-like skin and started using Blast Seeds and Vile Seeds, because I would bash my head in if I used a move.
When I ran out of materials, I wavered in my hold. Big mistake. I was shaken off and crashed to the ground with a sharp crunch. Kiara looked at me with wild eyes and I saw her fighting the urge to jump off and help me. I winced, looking at the leg that had the metal in it. I was bleeding there. Shakily, I got up and tried to use Oran Berry juice on the wound, but it didn't work as well as i'd hoped.
Go on, finish him. I'll be alright. I mouthed to Kiara. Kiara nodded slightly and used Fire Spin followed by Flamethrower. She walked slowly up to Dialga's head, bending down and using Flamethrower one final time. Dialga's legs quivered and he fell, Kiara launching herself off at the final moment. She sprinted over to me, freaked out.
"He'll recover." I said aloud, feeling a change in the atmosphere. Kiara nodded silently and locked her legs in spot, not wanting to step over Dialga's body. "He's not dead, you-." I said, being cut off by an enormous tremor. "We have to get out of here!" I said, sprinting up to the Time Gears. Kiara hesitated, then followed me.
I pushed the time gears into their rightful places, but the tremors didn't stop.
"What's going on?" Kiara screamed, as a bright light started from the Time Gears and slowly consumed our vision. The last thing I heard was Kiara screaming as I blacked out.
Unknown Timeskip
"Hmm? Ugh..." I groaned, looking up. I slowly sat up, on the jungle path in front of the Temporal Tower. The top of the tower was glowing bright white, waves flowing out in the sky, visibly healing the world. I sighed, backing up accidentally stepping on Kiara's tails. She screeched, waking up.
"What'd you do that for?" She asked in a annoyed voice.
"Kiara, we did it." I said, ignoring the anger.
"...did what- ohh!" Kiara said, perking up. She glanced at the tower, opening her mouth slightly in awe.
"Anyway... we should be going now." I said. "Lapras is waiting, and I don't know how long we've been out."
"..Right." Kiara said, and we started back down the Jungle Path. But soon, as we began nearing the rainbow stoneship, my legs quickly got difficult to move. It soon became a struggle to stand, and suddenly I realized I was disappearing.
"Kiara.." I said. Kiara turned her head and gasped. I was beginning to glow with a golden light. "...I'm sorry, but i'm- i'm leaving." Kiara suddenly looked sad. "If we changed the future-" I turned my head and nodded at Temporal Tower in the distance- "I would disappear because I'm from the future. I can't stay..."
"But... we'd come back together!" Kiara said.
"I can't stay here. Time would warp again." I said slightly sternly, thinking inwardly how i'm so emotionless. A few tears leaked into my eyes. "Thank you for all the adventures..." I tried to smile. The light was getting brighter... "Kiara... take care of Stella, Cabbage, Bubble, and the rest for me... I'm never going to forget about you Kiara."
"Rook, stop!" Kiara shouted. "We promised Treasure Town that we'd come back safely!" She was on the verge of breaking down. "Please..."
"It's okay.." I said. "You can go on with out me. Just remember me." I felt a tear trickle down my face. "Tell everyone what happened here. Make sure it doesn't happen again."
Kiara's tears began wetting the restored ground. I could feel the hot light consume my body. "Thank you, Kiara! Thank you for everything.. I'm sorry..."
"I'll miss you.." Kiara said, reluctantly accepting my sudden ongoing disappearance.
No! I screamed inwardly as my body began to flicker like a candle and I vanished, whispering, "I'll never forget you.."
Kiara's POV
I watched in a combo of anger, sadness, and respect as Rook vanished before my eyes, mumbling a final goodbye that I couldn't quite catch. What a bloody friend I am, not remembering my best friend's last words... I thought, slamming my fist against the ground and crumpling forward into it. I lay there, sobbing for a couple seconds. No... this isn't what Rook wanted... I thought, getting up to make the last stretch of the journey.
I worked my way to Lapras. "Ah, so you've returned!" Lapras greeted me. "But- all but one of you had the privilege of making it home..."
"..." I fought the urge to break down crying, I became aware that I was shaking as I clambered onto Lapras' back.
"I'm sorry for your loss." Lapras said after a long silence. We were escaping the Sea of Time.
"I don't want to talk about it.." I said in a voice not like my own.
"Some months passed and eventually, a year. I still thought of Rook every day, but I grew to accept that Rook did it to save us all and that I have to respect her decision to spare me. A time of darkness is not how I like to spend eternity. So, I took what Rook told me and told her story to whoever would listen. And listen they did. Rook and Ginko are heros now, especally to Ginko's adopted son. I've graduated from the guild now, and my home is Sharpedo Bluff. But.. recently I had a moment on the beach..."
I came down to the beach right before dusk. "Wow." I breathed, watching the bubbles created by the Krabby float far away into the horizon. "I haven't seen this in.. quite a long time." I said to myself. "Been.. really busy, haven't I?" Mmm. "Ah... one of the last times I saw this was.. when I met Rook." I sighed, having I big flashback of all our shared memories. ...Memories... of Rook... I thought. I could feel tears starting to spring into my eyes. Snap out of it, Kiara.. I thought. I sat down on the sand and started to cry for a bit.
I heard footsteps behind me and swiveled my head around. It was Bidoof.
"Kiara- you were gone when I went to visit you, so-" Bidoof paused when he realized I was crying. I turned to face Bidoof, but I found I could only say his name..
**Momentary Character change(3rd person)**
"KIARA!" Dialga's voice boomed from a distant place. "I CAN FEEL YOUR SORROW- IF HAVING ROOK BACK ON THE LAND IS YOUR WISH, THEN SO BE IT." Dialga roared at the top of his lungs and the sound waves bounced around the tower. The sound waves eventually leapt away from the tower and rocketed away towards the shore of Treasure Town.
**End momentary change** (I don't like using bars for short changes)
I glanced upwards from my position on the cold sand. A soft, cool light was pulsing quietly near me. I stood up, and approached it. The light took the shape of an eevee for a moment, exploding into a thousand stars that faded into the sand and ocean. It was Rook. I was still crying, only it was tears of joy. "Welcome home." I whispered.
It looks like little me, for some reason
Is going to depart from here soon
Compared to the others, I just a little
more special then them.
But that's all that there was.
I just liked it, when you praised me
since I was the most timid one
I just didn't want you to be angry at me
It was for the entire human race
and for our future, they said
It looks like they're..
..entrusting something big on my shoulders.
This is a little embarrassing,
It sounds like a big responsibility.
