Chapter 21

It was 10 AM, Roy had just got back from Gotham, he ended up staying a little longer. It turned out Huntress had escaped Jail again and gone to Gotham. Roy spent 2 days trying to track her down.

When he finally found her she was in a bit of a tight spot, with a gang of gunmen about to kill her. Roy managed to save her and she showed appreciation in her way, she kissed him, for a while… then pulled out and took him down to ground before pointing a gun at this head.

Roy never understood her. After clearing things up she did say she'd come back to Starling to 'help' but she didn't seem overly motivated to return to her home city.

It was now only 8 days until the attack. Roy needed to act fast. He was going to go to Central City soon. For the moment he was alone sat in the upgraded and expanded foundry.

Felicity has brought in more computers and tech devices, the weapons shipment had come in by the looks of things and they had set up lighting in the far west corner of the Foundry where they had put a big meeting table.

Roy was watching news footage of Black Canary, Speedy and the ATOM taking down a Meta called Deathbolt. They had fought in quite a public place, the ATOM was dominating the fighting before he was shocked backwards.

Laurel's Canary Cry tech was the thing which changed the fight towards their side and it was Thea who delivered the final blow, with a tranq Arrow straight into his chest. Roy couldn't help but be proud of her.

Roy now suited up and headed out to help Diggle set up some traps and automatic firing points.

Roy returned to the Foundry 4 hours later, Diggle had spent the last 5 days turning the city into defendable fortress without the citizens of the city knowing. Roy knew any chance of announcing an evacuation would be shot down by the government. Lyla had tried but Waller had none of it.

He and Diggle walked into the Foundry to see a fully-fledged version of Team Arrow. Laurel and Thea were trying out some new tech, while Felicity and Ray were reparing the damage to the ATOM suit and Lyla was arranging the weapons.

He walked in and Thea ran up to him and gave him a deep hug, they pulled out and she whispered "I've missed you."

Roy smiled at her. He then addressed them all and said "Well done last night, I saw the footage. While in Gotham I managed to get Batman and his Sidekick to come the day before and the Huntress is coming, she won't be in the team but she will be fighting."

Diggle grimaced at the last bit but the others seemed happy for the extra support. Ray inquired "Who is Batman's partner? And just to say I can't believe this Batman is real, I mean archers in coloured suits is out there but a guy dressing up as a bat? What is wrong with this country?"

Diggle put in "Dude, you fly around in a tech suit."

Ray pointed his finger to suggest 'fair point'. Felicity said "Well since Roy told me to search for potential vigilantes I've seen some weird stuff. This hawkgirl has wings practically within her body, there's a guy flying in a blue beetle suit thingy in Texas, not to mention Green suited ring powered guy in Coast City."

Roy answered Ray's question "Batman's partner is called Robin, he's 14 but he can hold his own. Felicity I'm not sure whether we can track down this supposed 'Green Lantern' because he isn't seen much. But I will be going to track down Hawkgirl and Ray I was going to ask you to head to El Paso to see this Blue Beetle guy. He seems more in your playing field."

Ray replied "Sure. I'll head out there in a few days once Felicity gives me the details."

Laurel said "When you go to Central City make sure you get Cisco and Cailtin as well as Barry. They will be useful help for Felicity. Plus half the stuff we've ordered we don't understand, but Cisco will. And Roy's what is in that crate you've locked up?"

Roy replied "I'll bring them to our cause too. The crate… Let's just say it's the weapons in my Arsenal."

They all looked a bit confused at that.

A little later they were all getting familiar with the new tech and weapons. Roy had ordered in a few red crossbows as well as more Bow's. Roy was practising with a small crossbow which could be automatically folded and put in his quiver as a spare weapon.

Thea and Diggle were sparring with the new techno batons, while Felicity scanned for illegal activity as usual.

Roy was encouraging everyone to equip themselves with each other's weapons in case they ended up using them. Laurel was becoming adequate with a bow but it would never be her game.

About half an hour later Felicity interrupted their training and said "There's reports of a gang fight in the Glades and my new CCTV software has just brought up a break-in at a STAR Labs facility. 3 hooded men."

Roy acted quickly as leader, "Ray get in your suit now. You fly over to STAR and stop the break-in, take Thea with you if you can carry her alright."

Ray nodded but seemed that he was adjusting to taking orders. Roy then got a text, it was from Barry. It read; "Roy, I need your help with something. Central City is threatened. It's dangerous. Don't bring company unless necessary."

Roy tried not to react to the text and said "Diggle, Laurel go to the Glades check out this gang fight, shut it down."

They all started to suit up and get ready and Felicity said "Roy, what are you going to do?"

Roy replied "Looks like my trip to Central City has been put forward."

He then went to pack with Arsenal suit and some weapons. Once everyone had left on their missions Roy went to open Oliver's glass case. He grabbed the Arrow suit and put it in his bag.

Felicity saw him and said "What are you doing with Oliver's suit?"

Roy replied "I'm going to leave mine to Cisco for some improvements if he agrees to it. I'll need another suit for after Central City."

Felicity smiled and said "Oliver wouldn't mind anyway. Just remember Thea's got the hood."

Roy said "Hoods are for Starling City. Elsewhere I don't need the hood."

Felicity looked quite surprised by Roy's change of heart, nodded and said "Have fun in Central."

Roy grabbed his crate and his bags and replied "Not likely." Before leaving the foundry and jumping in his car to drive to Central City.

Roy knew whatever he was driving towards would be unpleasant, if the Flash needed his help then it must be serious. Roy had seen news reports about this man in yellow, "the Reverse-Flash". If it involved him then Roy was worried.

Note- Bit of a jumbled chapter but I wanted to set up the Central City chapter. I think it will take place within the events of the Flash episode Rogue Air with Roy taking Oliver's place. I hope you are enjoying the story, the battle for Starling City is coming up soon.
