Chapter 21
The Silver Soul
Gakupo was still on his knees in front of Miku. She knelt down in front of him to be at his level. He continued to grip his head. Miku saw a small silver necklace around Gakupo's neck that had been hidden in his shirt. It must have fallen out when he dropped to his knees. She raised an eyebrow at it having never seen it before now. She took hold of it so that she could look at the pendant that was o it. "What's this…?" she asked in a low voice. Her finger gently touched the button on the side without realizing it. The pendant opened and some powder poured out of it and onto the ground in between them. "Huh!" she exclaimed. The dust swirled around in the gentle breeze and took on the form of a slender woman who was standing next to Fukuwa. The old man narrowed his eyes at the woman.
She had long light brown hair that fell to her lower back. Her facial features were gentle and loving. She dark blue eyes and pinkish lips. She was wearing a deep red gown that went down to her ankles and she was barefoot. Her hands were clasped in front of her and a smile was on her face. It took Fukuwa a few moments before he recognized his own mate and his eyes opened in surprise. "Alicia…" he said gently. She nodded her head and looked down at her son. Gakupo was still on his knees holding his head. She hugged him from behind as she got down on her own knees.
"W-who are you…?" he asked confused. He didn't lift his head as he spoke
"I'm your mother..." she whispered in his ear.
"I never knew my mother…" he said in a low voice. "I never knew either of my parents…"
"I know…" she said sadly.
"Why did so much have to change so soon…?" he asked her.
"I know that it's hard to handle. I know that it's a lot to handle with the way that you were raised."
"Why did Michael hate me so much?" he asked curiously.
"He knew that you were going to be the new God," she answered him.
"So he hid from me what I needed to know?" he asked. "He hid my parents and my identity from me…"
"Yes…" she replied gently. Her voice was soothing to him to hear.
"He raised me as a slave so that he could control me… right…?" he asked. She only nodded her head in reply to the question. "What powers do I have?"
"You have many powers," she said to him.
"Powers such as what?" he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure," she answered slowly.
"How do I find out?" he asked.
"I would suppose that you need to be threatened."
"I see…" he said slowly. She looked at Miku now.
"So you're the new maiden for my son?" she asked and Miku merely nodded her head in reply.
"What is the maiden to me anyway?" he asked still confused on that part.
"She is like your protector, server, maid, and must give her life is it is needed to save yours," Alicia answered.
"I won't let her die because of me," he said. "I have protected her since she got here or I have tried to protect her at least…"
"And now it's her turn to protect you."
"I will keep protecting her no matter what," Gakupo said stubbornly.
"That's not in your control anymore," Fukuwa said finally breaking his silence.
"Ha! I told you that he wouldn't go with it! He's too stubborn!" Mila said in Miku's mind.
"Shut up!" Miku's mind replied. Gakupo growled deep in his throat.
"So I have no choice but to let her die?" he growled at his father.
"Yes," Alicia said sadly. Gakupo punched the ground angrily causing Miku to flinch I alarm. Slowly, he calmed down again. His demeanor went through a drastic change. He became a person that was somewhat more indifferent and cold. He was still himself, but not as happy or joyful as before.
