HEY guys, sorry I haven't updated but I just got a new laptop because my last one crashed. But I am Back and ready to roll Enjoy!

A month past and the family fell into a regular routine, Susan dropped the kids off at school then went to work, and Vera and Harry attended classes and after school Susan would pick them up. Occasionally if she had to work late Susan would ask Mrs. Lara Harris, a friend and neighbor of hers to pick up the kids. Mrs. Harris had a son Vera's age named Damon and she would take all the children to the park for an hour, usually by that time Susan would be home.

This day was one of the off ones and Susan had been saddled with a new case load to look over, so Mrs. Harris took Damon, Vera and Harry to the park after school. Vera and Damon made for the jungle gym and Harry made for the Large tree where he and his friends played football after classes. Today most of the team was gone, as cold season was coming and several of the boys had taken ill. So it was only Harry, James McCarthy and Luis Swindle, and three boys does not a football game make.

Becca and her friend, the ever mousy looking Katrina Lenard, where attempting to get a large, brightly colored kite in the air, however the plastic butterfly refused to take off, despite the favorable fall breeze. Harry, noticed this and turn his attention away from the ongoing game of Marbles with his friends. He frowned and thought hard, and soon the Kite lifted off the ground and into the air, the thin plastic fluttering in the wind.

Harry smiled a bit then returned to his game, James had just knocked out three smaller marbles with the shooter. The boys soon grew bored with the game and settled for laying in the dry grass and watching Becca's kite dancing in the air. Luis found a green piece of grass and had figured out how to make a high pitched whistle with it. The wind began to pick up and the cheap kite jerked hard, causing the string to jerk out of Becca's small hand and dart up and down.

Harry stood up as a distressed Becca chased the kite, Katrina struggling on her tail. Harry and the boys decided to give chase and soon Becca regained hold of the kite, but not before it had wedged its way into the tangled branches of the tree. They stared at it unsure what to do, Luis stepped forward and jerked on the nylon string a little, "Stop it! You're gonna break it!" Katrina protested.

They pondered what to do before James piped up, "Harry can get it!" he remarked and turned to the boy, "You got the Football out remember?" Harry thought about it hard. His aunt had told his not to climb the tree anymore because it was dangerous, but Becca's pleading eyes compelled him to agree, "Uh, yea… sure I can." He nodded and watched her face light up, "Can you give me a boost?" he asked.

James and Luis nodded and helped haul Harry up to the first branch and harry clung to the trunk surely. The kite was a good bit higher up then the ball had been, and more branches had been falling out of the tree then usually due to the approaching autumn. He climbed the first few branches quickly having done it before, but took the next few slower. A sturdy looking limb crunched a little but under him and he paused and looked down, He was pretty far up, far enough to be a safety hazard.

"Come on Harry, just a bit further." Luis encouraged him Harry nodded and took a deep breath. He steadied himself and took another step, which was followed by another, much louder, much more dangerous sounding crack….

(Ten minutes later)

Susan's office telephone rang and he picked it up with a tired groan, "Honeycutt and Co. Attorneys and Law, Susan Snape speaking." She droned. "Susan?" She perked up, "Lara? How did you get this number?" she asked.

"Your daughter told me, listen you need to get down here." The woman sounded beyond distressed. "What's happened? Is something wrong?" she tucked the phone between her shoulder and her ear and began to shoving things into her briefcase. "Harry's been hurt, Mr. Delissio has taken him to St. Peter's Hospital , we think he broke his arm falling out of the big oak tree in the park." Lara said in a rush, "Vera's at my house with Damon."

"Oh my God I will be right there!" Susan rushed and hung up and rushed out, probably forgetting quite a few papers. She used to floo to get to her house and rushed for the front door, before she realized she was still in her work robes and jerked the cloak off in a hurry before running down the street to Mrs. Harris's house.

"Mummy!" Vera rushed her mother who scooped her up and propped her up on her hip, "Come on Baby, we have to go see Harry." she said quickly, trying to seem calm but her face was flushed and her voice was laced with worry. "Thank you for taking care of her for me." She told a bystanding Lara.

Susan placed Vera in the back seat in her car seat and buckled her up. "Vera, can you tell me what happened to Harry Honey?" she asked from the driver's seat and pulled out of the drive way and down the road. "I don't know, me and Damon were playing on the Jungle Gym and Mrs. Harris said we had to go to her house because Harry got hurt."

She nodded and tried to calm down as they pulled up to the hospital ER. "Hello, My name is Susan Snape, my nephew was brought in here earlier, A little boy with black hair and glasses, about seven years old." The nurse at the front desk nodded, "Yes, he came in her about fifteen minutes ago, with that man there." She pointed to a swat portly man with a grey comb over, dressed and suspenders and a white stained shirt with pant dress pants.

Ronald Delissio was the grandfather and caretaker of young Luis Swindle, "Ronald, What happened?" she rushed over and set Vera on the ground and took her small five year old hand. "I don't know, Luis told me that Harry was trying to get a kite from the old oak tree and one of the branched fell out from under him." Susan tapped her chest with her hand and closed her eyes, "I knew the Tree was dangerous, I thought I told him that I…" she paused, "Ronald, can you watch Vera a moment, I need to call my husband."

Ronald nodded and watched the distressed woman walk out the front door. Susan returned to her car and pulled out a small hand mirror from the glove box. A two way mirror she and her husband shared in case of emergencies. She tapped it three times and it grew warm, "Come on, pick up pick up pick up." She muttered. The mirror clouded and suddenly Severus's face appeared in the glass, "Susan? Whats the matter?"

Susan took a deep breath, "I'll explain when you get here, but there's been an accident, meet me in the waiting room at St. Peter's Hospital on 16th street, okay?" she said bluntly. "Susan, what are you talking about who's hurt? "

"I said I'll explain later just hurry." She stowed the mirror away and hurried back to the waiting room where a kindly looking doctor was waiting for her, "Are you Mrs. Snape?" He asked. "Yes, you're the doctor, is my nephew okay?" she said quickly. The man held up both hands to sooth her, "Harry is just fine, Mrs. Snape. Just breakage of the radius, I see it every day. He's being fixed up right now, we'll get a cast on it and everything will be fine." Susan nodded, her fears slightly lessened, "Okay, thank you doctor, when can we see him?" She asked, stroking Vera's blonde locks.

"Soon, Now your nephew has what we call a Greenstick fracture" He pulled out to X-ray copies of the bone, "Meaning the bone is not broken all the way through, and Harry is very young so if he keeps the cast on and down not use the arm, it should heal four to six weeks." Susan sighed with relief, "Thank God. Thank you doctor." She nodded and took a seat in a worn cushioned chair next to Ronald who patted her hand, "There you see, young boys are just like concrete, sturdy as anything." He chuckled.

Vera looked around curiously and her face split into a grin, "Daddy!" She squealed and rushed for the door and collided with her father's black clad leg. "Hello there Sweet heart." He scooped her up. Susan rushed over to him and embraced him quickly, "Oh thank God" she sighed into his shoulder.

"Okay, I'm here what's happened?" Severus asked putting Vera down. "Oh Harry fell out of a break and broken his arm, the doctors are fixing him up now. They said we could see him when he's all patched up." She didn't let go if him completely. "Why didn't you just take him to Saint Mungo's or better yet just heal him yourself?" he whispered in her ear, "Because I didn't bring him, I was at work when I got the call." She paused and turned to face him, "Severus what are we going to do, they doctors have already seen him and Lara Harris has probably already told all her friends, we can't just heal him people would notice!" she said this all in a loud whisper so others could not hear.

"Well then there's really only one thing we can do isn't there?" he whispered back. They both nodded in agreement. "Severus, I want you to meet Ronald Delissio, He was the one who brought Harry here." She nodded. "Ronald this is my husband Severus." The short, portly man grunted at his stood, "Nice to finally meet you," they shook hands briefly. "Well Sue, I think I had better be heading home, but if you need anything just call alright?"

Susan nodded, as the man wobbled out, "Sue huh?" Severus hummed, "Yea, perks of living in suburbia right?" she muttered and pulled Vera up into her lap. "So, how's work?" she asked and he groaned, "let's talk about something else." He muttered.

"Alright, well uh, Vera, why don't you tell daddy about school huh?" she encouraged. Vera nodded and suddenly went off on a full blow tangent about everything in her life. It didn't take a genius to figure out that Severus was only half listening. "Susan Snape?" a nurse approached them. "Yes, that's me."

"Your Nephew is out of surgery and you can see him when ever you like." She nodded Susan nodded and thanked her, and ushered in her family. Harry sat on the Hospital bed wiggling his fingers on his left arm which was incased in a thick white cast. "Harry!" Susan's first instinct was to embrace him, which she did, rather tightly, " Harry, You can't scare us like that! What on earth were you thinking climbing that tree? I told you it wasn't safe!" she scolded him.

"I was trying to get a kite from the tree." He said plainly. "Does it hurt Harry?" Vera asked, staring at the white cast. "Well, Just…." Susan sighed, "Thank Goodness you're alright." She sighed. "but can't you just heal it?" He asked curiously, "I'm Afraid it's not as simple as all that Harry" Severus shook his head, "People saw it happen, If you go one day with a broken arm, and the next day it's healed people will notice for sure, and we can't have that." Harry looked disheartened, that meant he would have to spend six weeks with an uncomfortable, itch, heavy cast on his arm.

"Uh, Darling I wonder if I may have a moment with Harry." Severus told Susan who nodded and ushered Vera out of the room, who pouted.

Severus closed the door behind them with a sigh. "Alright…." He looked up at his nephew, "Who is she?" Harry looked shocked, "What do you mean?" Severus sighed, "You forget I was a boy to Harry. And if a guy does something stupid once, well…" He shrugged, "It's because he's a guy, but if a guy does the same stupid thing twice, it's usually to impress a girl"

Harry's shoulder's slumped, "Her name is Becca Nakamura and she got her kite stuck in a tree…" He admitted. Severus nodded, "Well, I think you've learned your lesson with this little escapade, but try to be more careful…" he began to turn before pausing, "Oh and try not to scare your aunt so much, alright?" Harry nodded. "Good boy." Severus walked out.

"What did you talk about?" Susan asked immediately when he walked out, "Did he say anything? You weren't too rough on him were you?"

Severus rolled his eyes and kissed her swiftly, "Guy stuff, that's all." Susan nodded, "Alright, well I will be back soon, just to check up, and winter break isn't too far away." She sighed as He knelt down to embrace Vera, "watch out for your cousin, he'll need some help for a while." Vera nodded and hung on to his neck. "Be good Flower" He stood and kissed Susan deeply, "Love you darling."

Susan nodded, sad to see him to go. "Love you to." She embraced him before he left swiftly. She crossed her arms and sighed, she knew Dumbledore would have a field day with this, but she didn't worry, well she did worry, she worried a lot, but not about that. She couldn't help but notice how like James Harry was.

"Is Harry going to be okay?" Vera asked, looking up at her mother. "Yes Baby he will be just fine." She smiled.
