The orc troops were rapidly approaching the city of Minas Tirith, with siege towers in tow. Wave after wave of orcs forming a sea of evil upon the field below the city.

"Open the gate, quick!" a soldier called as he spotted an unconscious Faramir being drug by his horse, his body struck with arrows. Quickly he was taken to the top levels of Minas Tirith.

Pippin and Xander watched from afar, Denethor running up to his wounded son as they placed him under the white tree.

"Faramir!" Denethor yelled. "Say not that he has fallen!"

"They were outnumbered. None survived," a soldier replied.

Out on the field the orc leader Gothmog arrived at the battle atop a warg. A pleased look crossed his face as he said, "Fear... The city is rank with it. Let us ease their pain. Release the prisoners!"

"Catapults!" an orc ordered.

The catapults fired upon the wall of Minas Tirith. The men ducked and looked in horror as to what was flying in amongst them, the heads of Faramir's soldiers. At the top of the White City Denethor held tightly to Faramir's body, "My sons are spent..." he said as he stumbled away from the litter that bore his son, torn with grief.

Pippin quickly ran to Faramir's side as Denethor yelled in anguish, "My line has ended!"

"He's alive!" Pippin called as he placed a hand on Faramir's brow.

"The house of Stewards has failed!" Denethor replied, when the hobbit countered, "He needs medicine, My Lord!" but the young hobbits words fell upon Denethor's deaf ears.

"My line has ended!"

"My Lord!" Pippin called as Denethor stumbled to the edge of the wall. His eyes grew wider as he looked upon the massive army that stood at his gates. His mind broke as he went insane yelling, "Rohan has deserted us! Théoden's betrayed me!" Looking out past the soldiers he shouted, "Abandon your posts! Flee! Flee for your lives!"

"Gandalf..." Xander said as he reached out a hand. And with a smile the wizard handed him his staff. Casually, he walked over to Denethor and whacked him in the forehead with it and then in the stomach causing the Steward to fall to the ground in shock.

"Prepare for battle! Return to your posts!" Xander ordered.

"You have led a battle before?" Gandalf asked.

"Yes," Xander replied.

"Good, then help me lead. Help us send these foul beasts into the abyss."

Quickly mounting their horses, Xander whispered, "This army is a lot bigger than my graduating class." as they raced through the city.

"Come on men! To the wall! Defend the wall!" Gandalf ordered.

The Gondorian soldiers hurled large rocks and pieces of buildings towards the large army with trebuchets.

"Stay where you are!" Gothmog said as one piece came perilously close to him but he stepped to the side at the last minute and spit upon the piece of large white stone.

The Nazgûl on their fellbeasts then arrived. Their presence alone streaked terror in the hearts of the Gondorian soldiers by picking up random men and dropping them into the chaos below. Pippin had to cover his ears to block out the deafening sound of the Nazgûl cries.

"Hold them back!" Xander ordered high on the wall, "Do not give in to your fear! Stay at your posts!"

Gandalf spotted the siege towers almost upon them, being pushed by giant cave trolls. "Not at the towers, aim for the trolls! Kill the trolls!" Gandalf yelled to the archers.

"Xander!" Gandalf yelled, throwing a sword at him.

He caught the flying blade just as one of the towers connected with the wall. Xander began to slice his way through the oncoming wave of orcs when Gandalf began to fight as well when he saw Pippin coming down the stairs towards him.

"Peregrin Took, go back to the Citadel!"

"They called us out to fight..." Pippin replied.

An orc started to charge towards Pippin but Gandalf headed it off, killing it. "This is no place for a hobbit!"

The wizard, too busy fighting several more orcs, did not see one coming up behind him. Just as the orcs blade was coming down on him, Pippin stabs the orc and removed his blade from its carcass as it fell.

"Guard of the Citadel indeed," Gandalf replied, "Now, back up the hill! Quickly! Quickly!"

Huge creatures pulled the massive battering ram towards Minas Tirith. It was shaped like a giant wolf, with flames licking inside its mouth. Xander looked down from the wall with horror at the massive beast of wood and flames when he heard someone yelling, "Xander!"

Looking to see Gandalf calling to him and saying, "Back to the gate! Hurry!"

"Men, to the gate!" Xander ordered. "They're trying to break in!"
