Yes, the events in this follow right after the end of chapter 46 in Snapshots, and is the companion piece for chapter 58 of Through the Headlines.
Asami had already read the article and was on the phone and the clerk who'd run to get to the newspaper to her was still doubled over catching his breath.
"Hello Sato res-"
"Suchart, is Korra home?"
"Ms. Sato?"
"Is she there?"
"I'm afraid not. She left shortly after you did, as she usually does,"
"Where is she? Did she say where she's going?"
"I didn't ask, Ms. Sato is everything quiet alright,"
"No, not really. If she comes home tell her to call me,"
"Of course Miss,"
She hung up without giving him an explanation.
"Ms. Sato, are you alright?" The clerk asked.
She took a breath and nodded, 'Don't jump to the worse case,' she thought to herself, 'The chances of them making a move against Korra already are almost zero. They only just escaped.' She was about to call Air Temple Island but the office phone rung. Her secretary posted just outside her office, who'd stood up and moved to the when the clerk came running in moments ago turned back to answer the line on her desk.
"Future Industries main office," A pause and then she looked at Asami through the doorway, "It's a call from Mako,"
Without another word Asami picked up her line, "Mako, what do you know?"
"Seems like you know already. We just got word here. The only information we have so far is that at least two guards from the prison helped them to escape."
"Guards helped them escape? That wasn't in the newspaper,"
"Which newspaper do you have? There wasn't anything about the breakout in the one I bought,"
"The Fire National. It makes sense that none of Republic City's papers would have gotten word in time to print the story,"
"It's going to be the headlines for all the evening editions,"
Asami made a sound a agreement.
"We have no idea where they went or where they are heading, but the best guess would be that they'll come here. Zaheer is imprisoned here. And…" He trailed off, but Asami knew what he was going to say.
"And Korra's here,"
"Does she know?"
"I don't know. I only just found out myself and she'd already left home when I called,"
"She most likely went to the island, she normally does. Chief contacting Tenzin right now,"
Mako looked over from his desk to Lin's office. The door was still open. He didn't close it when he'd run back to his desk to call Asami just after Lin's briefed him on the break out. He could see her at her desk speaking to, he assumed, Tenzin on the end. She turned and meet his eyes.
"Mako," She called, placing a hand over the receiver of the phone, "Did you get Asami?"
"I'm on the phone with her right now,"
"Is Korra with her?"
"No? Isn't she on the island?"
"Tenzin said she haven't arrived yet,"
"Do you think-"
"No need to place a missing person's report yet. I'm sure she's fine," She moved her hand to say this so Mako wasn't entirely sure if she was speaking to him or Tenzin. Probably to them both. "Tenzin, I have to inform Raiko…. Right I'll see you there," She hung up with him and started to dial again. Mako returned his full attention to his call with Asami.
"Um… did you hear any of that?"
"Enough of it," She replied.
"Are you worried?"
"No. Are you?"
"No… maybe a little,"
"She's fine. Knowing Korra she out for a ride with Naga or probably picked a fight with the triad."
"You're right… I have to go. The chief is about to head to City Hall, and I'm going with her,"
"I'll meet you there,"
A short while later above air temple island Korra was descending on her glider. As she got ready to land she was tackled from behind by Meelo and they both hit the ground.
"Where have you been? Everyone has been worried! What were you doing? If you're going to be late call someone!"
"I'm an hour late for training, don't kill me,"
"Meelo, that's enough," Jinora said, and Kai pulled him off Korra. Pema cam run forward.
"There you are, we'd be wondering where you were,"
"Sorry I'm late. Didn't think it would be this big of a deal,"
"You haven't heard the news yet, have you?" Jinora asked.
"News? What are you talking about?" She looked around, "What happened? Tenzin's isn't here, is he-"
"Dad's fine. He went to City hall," Jinora said.
"Korra, there was a prison escape last night, members of the red lotus." Pema said.
"Th-" Korra's eye's widened, "Zaheer. He couldn't have."
"No it wasn't him. Four members who were being kept in the fire nation."
Korra processed this for a moment, "Everyone else is at City Hall already. I should be there too," She took up her glider.
"I'll be your bodyguard!" Meelo volunteered.
"I don't need to you too," She started to take a run up to take off.
"But don't you remember what happened last with the Red Lotus,"
She missed a step and stumbled. Jinora hit Meelo.
"Ow, what was that for?"
"Meelo, of course I remember." Korra said. She looked at Meelo, bending so she was on his level, "That's why I need you to say here. The Red Lotus tried to attack the airbenders before so I need you here incase anything happens,"
Meelo's eye glistened and he saluted, "Yes sir!"
"Jinora would you come with me, and brief me on everything we know so far while we're flying?"
"Of course," She nodded and they both took off.
"Are you okay? What Meelo said…"
"I'm fine Jinora. Just tell me what's happening,"
