A/N: Ugh, I know, I suck. I didn't finish season 1 before season 2 came on like I had planned. I haven't had any time whatsoever to write and it kills me because I have so many ideas for scenes. I hope you all enjoy the chapter. I tried to add more scenes than just ones from the show to this one and am planning to do that from now on to make the story not seem like you're just going through the show again. Anyways, enjoy!
Beautiful Disaster - Chapter XXI

"But the memories that hang heaviest are the easiest to recall. They hold in their creases the ability to change one's life, organically, forever. Even when you shake them out, they've left permanent wrinkles in the fabric of your soul."
― Julie Gregory, Sickened: The Memoir of a Munchausen by Proxy Childhood
"Greetings, boy."
Klaus awoke with a start in his bedroom in the Abattoir compound. He gasped for a few moments, his mind reeling. He had just had a dream where he saw his child and then Mikael showed up. He was unnerved on so many levels and tried to fall back to sleep but was unable. With a sigh, he stood and headed out of his room. He decided he would go paint or draw until he grew tired.
When he got to his painting room, Andy was there. She was looking over his paintings he had done while in New Orleans. She was wearing a t-shirt, fuzzy plaid pajama pants, and no shoes or slippers. She looked so beautiful standing there. He took a moment and basked in her beauty before he alerted her of his presence.
"Unable to sleep?" Klaus asked her. It was nearly four in the morning so she must have been kept up by something too. Since tomorrow was Kieran's wake, sleep was really something they all needed tonight.
Andy jumped slightly and turned to face him. "Oh, hi," She ran a hand through her tangled hair. He smiled at what a mess she looked but she still managed to look just as beautiful as ever. "To answer your question… yes. Sleep has seemingly decided to evade me for a while." She sighed as she looked back at his paintings. "I can see it's the same for you."
"Well, we've always been apples from the same branch, haven't we?" He said as he walked over to her side, looking down at his paintings as well. One was of her.
"I can't believe how much things have changed since I came to New Orleans," She murmured after a few moments of silence. "I remember being so excited on the plane. So happy that we were finally going to be able to get together. I put everything that had happened in Mystic Falls behind me because I knew we were supposed to be starting over… But it seemed like New Orleans didn't want us to live quite smoothly." She looked up at him. "Klaus, tell me, if you could do one thing different since being here in New Orleans, what would it be?"
Klaus stared at her a moment before looking down at his paintings. "I would not have let you walk out that door when Elijah had just gotten Papa Tunde's blade in my chest." He admitted.
Andy looked at him for a moment before answering in a small voice, "It wouldn't have changed anything."
"I know, but at least you would know I tried." Klaus responded and she gave him a weak smile.
"I should've known it would be difficult to be in love with someone the way I am with you. Especially when you keep saying things like that." She said with a small shake of her head.
Klaus looked over at her, slight confusion and hope filling him. "You still are in love with me?" He asked. He would've thought she would have moved past that.
She looked back up at him, blinking a few times before speaking. "Of course I am, Klaus. A huge part of me always will be. Despite all the shit you've done and put me through, you secured a piece of me. I just don't depend on you like I use to at all." She folded her arms over her chest now. "I mean, I would've done nearly all you asked… And I will always resent you for all the bad things."
Klaus looked down with a frown on his face. "I could never resent you. I have been angry at you but I have never resented you." He responded.
Andy watched him carefully for a few moments. "Klaus, if I fell in love with someone else, if I moved on from you… If I got into a relationship with that person, would you be able to let go of me?" She asked.
"I would hold you in my heart until you returned to me."
"But you should move on if I do, Klaus. You shouldn't just wait around until—"
Klaus grabbed her hands and held them to his chest. "I would. I would wait as long as it took for you to come back to me… because you are my soul mate. I know I might not be yours, but you are mine. I would be a fool if I gave you up that easily." He kissed her hands. "You should get some sleep, love. It will be a long day."
Andy gave him a smile and gave him a hug. He held her in his arms, loving the feeling of her in his arms again. They embraced for another moment before she pulled back and searched his face. Her expression was serious. "Before you woke up, I felt a little of your emotions… You felt upset. Then I heard you wake up, you know. You sounded like it was a nightmare." She admitted.
"It was nothing." He quickly said, not wanting to burden her.
"Klaus, what was it?" She insisted, squeezing his arm. "I won't be able to sleep until I know."
"It…" Klaus exhaled and looked away from her. He walked over and sat down on the couch. She quickly followed him and sat next to him, holding his hand. "I've been having these dreams about my dead father." She had a worried and even frightened expression on her face immediately.
Andy's eyebrows shot up, her expression flashing with fear for a moment. "Mikael? You've been having dreams about him? Why didn't you say anything about this, Klaus?" She demanded, tightly squeezing his hand.
"Because I know exactly why I am having these dreams. My fears of fatherhood, of scarring my child as my father scarred me, are manifesting as nightmares. It's nothing I can hope to fix," Klaus said, bringing his eyes to meet Andy's. Her eyes were filled with sympathy. She reached one hand back behind him and rubbed his back.
"Klaus, you are not going to fail your daughter," Andy insisted. She spoke in such a strong convincing tone that Klaus was almost convinced. Almost. "You are not going to be like Mikael in any sense or form."
Klaus scoffed and shook his head. "You have no guarantee of that, Andy. You don't know what is going to happen."
"I know you, Klaus, and I know that will not happen. Your daughter already has so many people that love her, but none more than Hayley and you. You two will be the best parents ever. Once you lay eyes on her you'll know exactly what you need to do to be a good father. You will be a good father, dammit." She said. He looked back up at her but didn't argue. He knew she would keep on insisting until he either was convinced or was quiet on the matter.
"Do you have your outfit picked out for Kieran's wake?" Klaus asked, deciding to change the subject.
Andy saw right through him. She shook her head and leaned her forehead against his. He did the same and they looked at each other in the eyes. "Get some sleep, Klaus. You'll need some for tomorrow… Or today, actually." She said as she stood up. She gave him a weak smile before she left the room. He exhaled and leaned back on the couch. He stared up at the ceiling, wishing he could go back to sleep. He knew if he did, Mikael would be in his nightmares once again.
"I know I haven't been around these parts lately. It's a testament to Father Kieran that we could come together and share a drink, and a story or two. Kieran rolled into town on a rusty old cruiser after his daddy died twenty-five years ago. And damnit, that guy could party! That was, of course, before he took his vows. But, even then, he was committed to the Quarter. He knew that this town needed him. And, we still do. To Father K!" Marcel said to the crowd in Rousseau's. Klaus watched as he took a sip of his Scotch.
The audience collectively murmured, "To Father K" and drank in his honor. They went straight back to their festivities. Klaus looked over at Andy who was sitting in front of him (she was sitting next to Elijah who was drinking) with a glass of water.
"You could've gotten something a bit stronger, love," Klaus told her.
"Yeah, I probably should've, but I figured since you're drinking I should stay sober," She admitted before she took a sip of her water.
"That's what Elijah's here for," Klaus said, looking to his brother.
"Elijah's unwinding, chill out," Andy said in a soft tone to Klaus. She turned her head and a sigh escaped her lips. Klaus turned his head to see she was looking at a familiar guy with brown hair.
"What?" Klaus asked her, as he looked back to Andy.
"That guy is going to come over here… I thought he wouldn't be here," She groaned and looked at Klaus, trying to hide. "That's Sam, the human I met while we were in Portland. Turns out his sister is Francesca. I told him I'd call or text him, but I keep forgetting. I am helping a city run."
Klaus looked back at the human, now recognizing him since Andy explained who he was. The human was approaching the table, his eyes on Andy. Klaus picked up pretty quickly this human had more than friendly intentions for Andy by the way he was looking at her. Klaus straightened himself out, glaring at the approaching human.
"Play nice," Elijah told him.
Sam finally reached their table and smiled down at Andy. "Hey, A. How are you doing today?" He asked her.
"Pretty good, considering why I'm here," Andy responded, brushing a strain of hair behind her ear. "How are you?"
"Good, thanks for asking," Sam looked over at Elijah. "Nice to see you again, Elijah."
"You as well, Sam." Elijah responded before taking a sip of his drink. Sam looked over at Klaus now, recognition instantly sparking in his eyes. One eyebrow of his rose up and he glanced at Andy.
"I almost forgot you said your ex moved here," Sam admitted to her. He focused his attention back on Klaus. "It's nice to see you again as well, Kaleb."
"It's actually Klaus," He corrected the human, looking at him with an unimpressed look. He knew he told Andy that he would let her date whoever she wanted while they weren't together, but this was a human. Why would she want to get tangled with a human? She didn't even drink straight from the vein most of times. It did anger him a bit, but he had a feeling he probably would have disliked it if she had gotten with a vampire. Humans die eventually, some vampires don't. "And what are you doing here, Tammy?"
"It's actually Sam, not Tammy," Sam corrected him. Nice to see that some things never change, Klaus thought to himself. "And I am here because my sister asked me to accompany here her." He started glancing around the bar. "Which I should go find her actually. I need to make sure she doesn't drink too much." He looked down at Andy with a smile. "It was nice to see you again."
"You also, Sam."
"Don't forget to call me sometime," Sam reminded her, then looked between Klaus and Elijah. "Good-bye, guys." He turned and walked away from them. Once he was out of ear range, Andy groaned.
"Ugh, why is he so dead set on getting me to call him? Why can't I just focus on helping run a city and not on a guy?" Andy laid her forehead on the table.
"Maybe you should have just told him you aren't interested," Elijah offered with a slight shrug of his shoulders.
"Maybe…" Andy leaned up and took Klaus's glass. She took a long swig from it before giving it back to him. "Sorry, I needed to drink at least a bit to get through this."
Klaus didn't argue and finished off the glass. He sat it down and poured himself more from the bottom they ordered. "Seems rather uncivilized, to laugh and dance around the body of a loved one." He said as he sat the bottle back down.
Elijah poured himself a drink next. "Yes, far better to practice your process of grief, Niklaus—denial, rage, and hoarding coffins in basements." He said to him. Andy chuckled, nearly pointing out to Klaus that he had thrown a wake for Mikael, but with the dreams he said he had been having lately she thought it was best to keep her mouth shut.
Hayley joined them at the table and sat down in between Andy and Klaus. "I will warn you, Hayley, Niklaus is in a spectacularly foul mood today." Elijah said to the werewolf.
"Sod off," Klaus said in a slightly slurred voice. Andy laughed at the way he sounded and took a sip of her water before looking at Hayley.
Hayley had turned to Klaus. "What's the deal with these moonlight rings? Oliver's trying to set a revolution every five seconds, people are scared, angry, and frankly, I'm tired of stalling." She said to the hybrid.
"It's a day of peace, Hayley. Try and enjoy it. And, in the meantime, with all manner of unknown enemies conspiring against our family, you'll move back in with us." Klaus told her.
Hayley sarcastically said, "Awesome! Then, we can do that thing where you lock me in the tower, I escape, there's drama, and then you two both realize I'm very capable of looking after myself."
Klaus was getting frustrated. "The rings are in progress. I will live up to my word. We will find and punish whoever launched the attack on the bayou, and you will return to the compound for your own safety!" Hayley sighed and rolls her eyes. "But, right now–" He grabbed his bottle of scotch. "–I'm gonna finish this bottle–" He opened the bottle. "–and the next, in the hopes of drowning the demon who has chosen today to haunt me." He looked up at the ceiling. "Cheers, Mikael. Impeccable, Freudian timing." He chugged straight from the bottle.
Elijah looked at Klaus with a stunned expression. "Elaborate." He said immediately. Hayley and Andy glanced at each other in concern before looking at the two Original brothers.
"Have you dreamt of our father?" Elijah demanded, leaning towards Klaus.
"Go ahead, have a good laugh."
"I can assure you there is no piece of this that I find even remotely amusing, Niklaus. Especially considering I've been dreaming of him, too." Elijah admitted and Andy's head shot over to him.
"What?" Klaus questioned with shock.
"I have been too," Andy admitted and the two brothers looked at her in surprise. She looked at Klaus with a sheepish expression. "I didn't want to worry you this morning. I figured it was a coincidence that you were dreaming of him also. That maybe our dreams were just connecting like we are."
"I think it is fair to say there are no coincidences in our lives," Klaus said to her in response. It now made sense why she couldn't sleep this morning. He wished now he had pressed her about why she couldn't sleep.
Elijah thought for a moment, obviously brainstorming. "If you both are also seeing him..." He stopped mid-thought. "Perhaps our elusive, unknown enemy is orchestrating a further attack?"
Klaus noticed Genevieve had walked into the bar. She was smiling at them, taking notice of them all. He simply stared at the witch at first. "Well, then. What better way to punctuate a day of peace than by killing someone?" He smiled and waved at her.
Andy watched as Genevieve wandered into the Jardin Gris, closing the door behind her. Andy knew that if Genevieve is involved with the dreams of Mikael, there was going to be serious trouble. Messing with her family was not a smart idea. Andy smirked when Genevieve was startled when Klaus appeared behind her.
The redhead smiled weakly at Klaus. "You disappeared from the party." She commented.
Elijah entered the room, examining an athame. "Do you care to explain why you would choose to torment us with visions of our father?" Elijah asked. Andy walked out from her spot then. Genevieve eyes briefly narrowed at her.
Genevieve seemed genuinely surprised by the accusation. "Your father? I didn't. I wouldn't!" She insisted.
"Of course, how foolish of me. It must have been that other witch that's been parading through our house in scraps of lace." Andy said, looking at her with distaste. Genevieve glared back.
"I know how talented you are with your tongue, Genevieve. Might I recommend you use it to provide answers? I would so hate to tear it from your mouth." Klaus said, stepping closer to the woman.
Genevieve laughed nervously. "As much as I enjoy these repeated accusations of wrongdoings, I don't know what you're talking about. But, if you've both been seeing your dead father, I can try to get you answers."
Klaus stroked Genevieve's neck menacingly. "Fine. Go."
"Niklaus, don't you dare let her—" Elijah and Andy both started to step forwards to block Genevieve but it was too late.
"Go!" Klaus stated and Genevieve quickly ran out the door.
"What the hell, Klaus?!" Andy demanded, walking up and shoving him slightly.
Klaus looked between the two of them. "You don't trust her, and you're right not to. Only a fool would. But, she certainly wants us to, doesn't she?"
Elijah exhaled. "Let me guess, there's something of benefit for you in all of this, isn't there?" He questioned.
Klaus looked up at his brother. "I need a witch to make those rings for the wolves. Perhaps we'll get both answers and cooperation?" He looked back at Andy.
Andy sighed and folded her arms over her chest. "I can't stand her. She treats Davina horribly and I… I just don't like her." Everyone in the room knew another reason was because Genevieve slept with Klaus, but Andy would never admit that and especially not in front of Klaus. "But if you trust her, Klaus, I'm behind you. Just don't act too impulsively, okay? Hayley's getting near the end of her pregnancy and we don't want the witches too hate us even more."
Andy and Klaus stood in the parlor room, Andy staring at the phone in her hand. "Well, what are you waiting for, love? We don't have all day." Klaus said to her. She looked up at him, a slight frown on her face.
"I know, but… I don't know, I just feel like this whole thing with… her is not gonna end good." She said.
"Her being Genevieve," Klaus clarified and Andy nodded in affirmation. He sighed heavily and moved to sit beside her on the couch. He put a hand on her thigh, waiting a moment to speak to see if she would knock his hand off. He was satisfied when she didn't and looked to him for guidance. "What don't you feel good about?" He asked, genuinely wanting her opinion.
Andy exhaled, her eyes going down for a moment. "I suppose I don't really have a solid reason other than my strong hatred for her," She admitted in a small voice.
"You said you trusted me back at the shop, when Elijah was around, what's changed?" He asked.
"What changed is that my bad feeling got stronger and stronger… and stronger. I don't feel good about this whatsoever, Klaus. Please, just please promise me you'll be careful with her. I can't handle it if you get hurt," Andy said, putting her hand on his. She intertwined their hands and squeezed tightly.
He looked up at her with a devilish smile. "You can't handle it if I get hurt?" He questioned, taking satisfaction in knowing she still cared for him.
Andy grinned back at him despite her obvious efforts to suppress it. "Oh, shush it." She said, then swallowed and looked down at their intertwined hands. Klaus knew she was trying to figure something out, but before he had a chance to ask her what was on her mind they were interrupted.
Genevieve walked into the room, pausing as she took in the two on the couch. Klaus knew how it looked. He was sitting very close to Andy and they were holding hands. He frankly didn't care what Genevieve thought because it wasn't a secret he was in love with Andy. Sure, the sex was great with Genevieve, but it was Andy he wanted more than anything. No matter how hard he tried to move on from the brunette, she was always there in his heart. He didn't mind, he actually was glad.
"You two have gotten cozy," Genevieve commented, eliciting an eye roll from Andy. Klaus slightly frowned as she removed her hands from his and picked up her phone. The redhead folded her arms over her chest. "I asked around; the purgatory where souls of the supernatural are trapped is disintegrating."
"Disintegrating?" Andy asked in shock, looking up from her phone to see Klaus had the same worry on his face. "That does not sound good at all."
"Which makes me even more certain we should get a second opinion from the Bennett witch." Klaus responded, his blue eyes going down to Andy's phone.
"Calling Bon Bon as we speak," Andy said as she put the phone on speakerphone. She looked at Klaus with a slight smirk. "Let's try not to make more bad impressions on my friends." She teased.
He smirked back at her. "Too late for that, I suspect." She went to respond, but an old friend's voice filled her ear.
"Hello?"
"Bonnie! Hey, it's the eldest Gilbert," Andy said as she smiled, her eyes going to Klaus. He had an amused glint in his eye, his smirk returning on his face.
"Andy? I didn't think I'd hear from you ever again," The witch on the other line gave a small laugh. "What do you need? I know that's the only reason you ever call me up anymore."
Andy felt a little guilt over that. It was true, she only did call anyone in Mystic Falls whenever she needed advice with something. Could they blame her? Even though they had mended things, she had chosen the Mikaelsons over them.
Shaking her head, Andy began to explain the situation of their dreams of Mikael. She didn't say what Genevieve had said, not wanting to unless Bonnie said she didn't know. Once Andy had finished explaining it all, Bonnie was quiet.
"Bonnie? Are you okay?"
"The Other Side is imploding," Bonnie answered after a moment, her voice small and unsure. "A lot of stuff is going on here also. The Travelers are trying to undo all of the witch magic in the world."
"Meaning…?"
"Meaning that, since the Other Side was created by a witch, it is going to be destroyed." Before Andy could respond, Bonnie spoke again. "Wait, Elena wants to speak with you."
After a few moments, Andy heard her sister's voice on the phone. "Andy?"
"Okay…. Uh, how long has this shit been going on?" Andy asked, her fingers drumming against her thigh. Why hadn't Elena or Jeremy called to let her know? What the hell was a Traveler anyways?
"Not too long, but long enough," Elena responded in a tired voice.
Andy took a few breaths before responding. She pinched the bridge of her nose inbetween her index finger and thumb. "Okay. Here's what is going to happen: I am going to sort things out here in New Orleans and then I'm hopping on the first plane to Mystic Falls."
"No, Andy, don't. It's better if you stay there, where you're safe."
"Safe? I'm pretty sure just about every supernatural creature in this town either wants me dead or to get the hell out of town."
"What? What's going on down there for that to happen?"
"Just some power struggles, nothing out of the ordinary."
"Andy… I think you should stay down there with the Mikaelsons. I think we've got a way to stop the Travelers. You should stay down there to help them with Mikael, to protect them."
Andy couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her lips. "I believe that's the first time I heard you say that I should protect the Mikaelsons as well as stay with them."
"Stranger things have happened."
"You can say that again," Andy responded, finally looking back up to see Klaus was watching her intently. She gave him a weak smile before she exhaled heavily. "Well, I suppose I should get back to the situation here in New Orleans. Besides, I'm sure you have your hands busy with whatever the hell the Travelers are."
"Ugh, it's too much to go into right now. Once this is all over, I promise we'll talk."
"You know it. I love you, sis. Give my love to Jeremy and the rest of the gang."
"I will, and I love you, too, sis."
Andy hung up her phone and looked up at Klaus. "Well, we should go let Eli know now, shouldn't we?"
After their discussion with Elijah, they all moved to their own quarters of the Abattoir. Elijah moved to his study for reading, Klaus was undoubtedly in his art room or bedroom, and Andy was watching various movies Netflix on her laptop. Of course, after a marathon of Disney movies she grew bored. She decided to see what Klaus was doing since she didn't want to disturb Elijah.
Walking down the hall with two blood bags in hand, she found herself in front of his room. She had checked his art room first, but he wasn't there. She made sure to gently knock on the door before she heard a soft "come in." Opening the door, she was shocked to see Klaus standing on his balcony with only boxes on. She looked to his bed to see if she would find anyone in there, but it was empty. She looked back to see Klaus was now facing her.
"Hey there, love," Klaus said, a small smile on his face.
"I can see you're busy, so I'll come back later." Andy said, uncertain of what else to do. Not that she would be uncomfortable talking to him in his underwear, but… Okay, she would be slightly uncomfortable. Not because she wasn't used to it, but because it had been quite a while since she had seen all that.
"No, no, I'm not busy. I was just getting some fresh air," He insisted as he walked away from the balcony, leaving the doors open. He walked over to his closet and pulled out a pair of plaid pajama pants. He didn't put a shirt on. Andy watched as he slid them on, but spoke so it didn't seem like he had completely mesmerized her with his appearance.
Andy raised an eyebrow at him. "In your underwear? I wasn't aware you liked showing off your goodies for free. If I had known that I wouldn't have waited so long to pursue you." She teased him with a small smirk.
"I am certain it was I who pursued you, and made no secret of my want of you," Klaus stated with a chuckle as he walked over to her. He looked down at the blood bags in her hand. "Late night feeding?" He asked her.
"Yeah, I was watching some movies on Netflix and got a little thirsty. Figured I'd go grab me a couple of blood bags and drink to my heart's desire. Want one?" She asked, holding out one of the blood bags. He shrugged before taking one. Together they began sipping on the blood. "So, wanna join me?" She asked as she paused from drinking the blood.
He nearly spit out the blood and she couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. Had her offer been so surprising?
"Sorry," Klaus apologized, giving a small chuckle. "I was not expecting that."
"I meant Netflix, not what you thought of," Andy pointed with a fond smile. "Get your head out of the gutter, man."
"I'll take your advice to heart," Klaus took another small sip of his blood bag. "I would love to join you, as long as you're comfortable with it."
"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?" Andy asked, her gaze meeting his. After a couple of moments she headed out of his room and crossed the hall to her own. She sat her blood bag to the side and jumped onto her bed, looking up at the doorway with a goofy smile to see Klaus walking in. He was still shirtless and his pants hung loosely on him. Andy noticed he had no boxers on now… What was he trying to do?
Andy moved to where she was laying on her stomach and opened her laptop back up. She began looking through the movies on Netflix while Klaus laid himself down beside her. She felt a small part of their legs touching, but only a small part. She tried to keep a straight face at the contact, not wanting him to see the effect he truly had on her still to this day.
"So… I'm in the mood for a horror movie. What about Grave Encounters? It's paranormal… But I'm pretty sure it has some ghosts in it. Not sure if that's the one we wanna watch, considering everything going on with us. We could just watch a couple episodes of a show, like Doctor Who or The Adventures of Merlin if you wanted."
"Grave Encounters is just fine, love," Klaus responded in a low, husky voice. Andy moved her gaze over to his to see he was lazily staring at her. He gave her a small smile before averting his eyes back to the laptop. She stared at him a short moment longer before hitting play.
They sat there in silence for the first thirty minutes, but Andy couldn't help the distraction that the physical contact with Klaus was causing. He'd shift every now and again, every time he would hold himself against her longer and longer. It was then she realized what he was trying to do. He was trying to drive her crazy, trying to get her all riled up. It was a very Damon Salvatore thing of him to do. Andy knew this game all too well… Meaning she could play it just as much.
Sitting up for a moment, Andy took off the hoodie she had been wearing. Underneath was a white tank top that was see through, showing the black bra she had on. Leaning over him, she grabbed the blood bag that he had finished off a while ago. To grab it, she had to press herself against him ever so slightly. She then leaned over him again to place it on the nightstand. She suppressed a smirk of satisfaction when she saw him tense ever so slightly. She pulled her hair out of the messy bun and then laid back down, making sure her curls were laying over Klaus's arm which was closest to her. She used her hoodie as a pillow and had her leg pressing up against his slightly.
Needless to say, they didn't really pay attention to the movie. They went back and forth of trying to tease one another, the both of them refusing to give in. They both caught onto to the others plan and tried to counter it. By the end of the movie, they were nearly cuddling.
Andy sat up as she shut off her laptop, stretching her body out like a cat as she laid back on her back. "I am so exhausted," She said as turned her head to look at Klaus. His eyes moved up and down her body, the lust clearly showing in his eyes. Andy nearly laughed when she realized she had been successful. She had already known a lot more self-control than Klaus, but it was nice to reinforce that.
Standing up, Andy went around the bed and grabbed the blood bags. She turned to see Klaus was still watching her with that same gaze. She had one last plan to top of the performance.
Andy walked closer to him and grabbed the necklace he still wore around his neck, the one she had given him so long ago. She pulled on it slightly, causing him to have to stand so she could get a better look at it. They were much closer now, and Andy leaned in close to get a look at the wolf. He smelled nice, as he always did. She felt a smile come across her face when she realized he was holding his breath.
"I can't believe you still have this," Andy said, and slowly started to move them towards the door. She was sure Klaus didn't notice their movement.
"Why would I not?"
"I don't know," She admitted, keeping a hold on it as she looked up to meet his gaze. "I can't believe it's been so long. It feels like just yesterday when…"
"I know," Klaus murmured back.
"I wouldn't do a thing different," Andy said to him just as they reached the doorway. She dropped the necklace and gave him a sweet smile as she handed him the blood bags they had drank tonight. Giving him a wide grin, she tilted her head slightly. "Goodnight, love. I'll see you in the morning. If you need anything, I'll be here." She turned off the light. With that she turned on her heel and went over to her bed. She left the door open and stared at his shadow. She sighed when she saw his shadow move away from the door. She would need her sleep anyways.
Hundreds of community members gather in the streets of the French Quarter after the funeral, as Father Kieran's casket is placed in a horse carriage to begin the parade in his honor. Andy stood next to Klaus and Hayley, Elijah standing on the other side of Hayley. They began walking down the street to the sounds of jazz music being played. There were priests acting as pallbearers for Father Kieran. As they continued walking, Hayley kept having coughing fits and her cheeks were flushed.
"You alright? You look—" Elijah began to ask her but he was cut off.
"—A hundred months pregnant and pissed off at the world?" Hayley guessed.
Elijah smiled. "I was going to say you look lovely."
"Yes, you're the most beautiful hundred months pregnant woman I've ever laid eyes on, Hayley," Andy said, looking at her with an amused smile.
"Flatterer," Hayley responded and Andy chuckled as she used her program to fan Hayley. She figured the pregnant woman was probably burning up in this heat out here. The least she could do was try to make her comfortable.
Andy noticed Hayley was staring intently at something. Looking forward, she saw Francesca a couple yards in front of them, who is pretending to wipe tears from her face with a tissue. Beside her stood Sam, who she had spoken earlier before the parade.
"Do you think I was the target of those bombings?" Hayley asked, bringing Andy out of her thoughts.
Klaus responded before anyone else could. "Of course you were the target! Were I to wage a war on the wolves, you'd be my first kill! I would string you up, for all your worshippers to see." Hayley glared at him while Andy gave him a good eye roll.
"I believe that was my brother's way of telling you he'd like you to return home with us," Elijah said to Hayley. He turned looked around the two girls at his brother.
Andy nodded and looked at Klaus. "Maybe you could just ask nicely, you know, with fewer references to murder?"
Klaus sighed, looking over at the woman carrying his child. "As much as I would hate to throw you over my shoulder, and drag you kicking and screaming to the compound, we both know I will–" He smiled. "–for the sake of my child."
"One bad dream, and suddenly, you want to be a responsible daddy!" Hayley said. Klaus moved in between Hayley and Andy. He wrapped his arm around Hayley and pulled her close, leaving Elijah and Andy standing awkwardly beside them, unsure what to do.
Klaus whispered to her, "Let me put this into perspective: my father lived to torment me. It is not my intention to become him. This cycle of misery ends with my child."
"Mmm," Hayley yanked his arm away from her with a fake smile. "You forgot one thing in your little attempt to plead your case—she's not your child. She's ours." Hayley walked away from the three and started walking down the sidewalk.
"Very heartfelt, Niklaus." Elijah said.
"I bloody hate funerals." Klaus said and Andy chuckled, looping her arm through his.
"Aw, it's okay, Nikki. If it's any consolation, I thought—"
"Klaus! Klaus, come help me!" Genevieve yelled out. They looked up, shocked to hear the woman. Then, they noticed the redhead standing over a figure laying on the ground. Hayley.
The three of them returned to the Abattoir with an unconscious Hayley and a tagalong witch. They laid Hayley down on a table and each gathered around the pregnant werewolf.
"I can help—" Genevieve began to say.
Elijah pushed her away from the table. "Don't you touch her!" He snapped.
"Let it be, Elijah. She was a nurse." Klaus said and Andy shot him a glare.
"There's a spell I can do. Klaus, get chamomile from the pantry," Genevieve looked at Hayley, who was now barely conscious. "She's trembling. Your jacket, Elijah."
Elijah removed his jacket and laid it over Hayley. "She's not breathing, I can hear the baby's heartbeat, but not hers. I don't feel anything wrong with the baby, either." Andy said as she stood by, feeling completely helpless.
Genevieve checked Hayley's pulse. Andy bit her nail thumb, staring down at the pregnant woman. She had such a horrible feeling in her stomach. She had had it all day, but assumed it was something to do with the whole Mikael thing.
Klaus returned with the chamomile and Genevieve pressed damp bundle of it against Hayley's forehead and chanted a spell in French/Creole. "Coeur la sais patri avec mwen. Coeur la sais patri avec mwen." Andy grabbed Klaus's hand and squeezed it tightly. He, frustrated and scared, bit into his free wrist and dribbled in blood into Hayley's mouth in hopes that it will heal her.
"Come on!" Klaus said, looking at Elijah and Andy in fear. She felt his fear and drew herself closer to him for some comfort. She saw him relax only slightly.
"She's still not breathing. It's not working!" Elijah said as he angrily threw a table against the brick wall, shattering it into pieces. Elijah paced back and forth at Hayley's bedside as Genevieve continued to work her spell.
"Couer la sais patri avec mwen."
Elijah moved to pick up Hayley. "I'm taking her to a real doctor."
"If you move her from here, my spell will break. There won't be enough time to get her to a hospital." Genevieve said to him.
Andy stared at the redhead for a moment before she moved to put a hand on Elijah's shoulder. "Let Genevieve do her spell. I-I trust her." She said to the eldest Original.
Klaus was growing more and more frantic by the moment. "Will the baby survive if delivered now?" He lunged for Hayley's body. "I'll rip it out of her myself!" Elijah and Andy both blocked Klaus from touching Hayley.
"Hayley will bleed to death!" Andy snapped at him.
"I won't lose that baby." Klaus responded in an aggressive tone.
"I won't lose either of them." Elijah responded to them.
Genevieve muttered, "Patri avec mwen. Coeur la sais patri avec mwen." Andy turned to watch the witch and saw that her expression was one of shock. She blinked a couple time before she looked over at Andy. "I know what to do. Get my bag, the gris-gris pouch! Now!" Hayley continued to lay still on the table, as Genevieve dabbed a wet cloth on her head.
Andy did as she was told, grabbing the bag and bringing it back with speed. Genevieve immediately took it from her and Andy continued her worry stance… Until a wave of nausea hit her.
Andy gasped and grabbed the table, the bad feeling growing strongly now. Ever since she became a vampire, she had been more attuned with the Mikaelsons, being able to sense them more… And now she was feeling something else, but wasn't sure it was entirely new. It was the same feeling she felt when she was dreaming of a certain Original.
"Mikael." Andy whispered, lifting her head up so she could look at Klaus and Elijah. "Mikael's here. I-I can feel him all around. With the Other Side tearing down, I can sense him again." No one said anything in response, and Andy wouldn't have said anything about it, but she hoped it would cause Genevieve move forward. Genevieve spread salt around Hayley on the table. Genevieve crushed herbs with her fingers and spread them over Hayley's body.
Suddenly, Hayley awoke with a loud gasp on the table, Klaus' blood still covering her mouth and neck. Elijah and Andy immediately helped her sit up, and Klaus rubbed her shoulder affectionately. "You're alright, now. You're alright." He said.
"I saw him. He tried to kill me. I saw Mikael." Hayley said, her gaze landing on Andy.
Things calmed down in the next hour. Hayley got cleaned up and was even convinced of staying at the compound to birth and raise the baby. Andy was happy because she knew it was going to make Klaus happy and she hoped it would make Hayley happy to be here as well. Klaus and Elijah had headed out for a moment to have a chat and Hayley was resting in her room. Andy was restless. The feeling hadn't vanished from earlier and she felt as if Mikael was standing in the room beside her.
Andy stood by the doorway, seeing Genevieve approaching with Esther's grimoire. Her first instinct was to attack the redhead, but she had heard her conversation with Elijah. He had given Klaus the permission to give the witch permission to help with the moonlight rings.
Genevieve noticed her just as she was approaching. A small sigh escaped her lips, but she still stopped in front of Andy. "You trusted me tonight," Genevieve commented.
Andy weakly raised her eyebrows. "Don't get used to it," She stood up and folded her arms against her chest. "Thank you for your help tonight, Genevieve. Without you, Hayley and the baby would have died. Fortunately for me, Elijah has seemingly already paid the debt he saw fit." Her eyes went to the door where Elijah had disappeared out of a while ago.
"I'm helping him create a ring so Hayley doesn't have to turn into a werewolf."
"That's all well and good, but you've got to listen to me. Esther was a monster. Some of those spells in there are dangerous and could hurt a lot of people, including yourself. Just… just be careful with that," Andy said as she walked around the witch. She headed up to her room at first but then decided she would go wait for Klaus in his art room. Sure enough, he ended up there not ten minutes later.
"Hey," Andy greeted him as he walked in the door. He didn't respond as she flopped himself down on the couch next to her. She held out the bottle of whiskey she had retrieved. "I am so ready to just get this day over with."
"Oh, you have no idea." Klaus responded before he opened the bottle and took a long sip. He looked over at her. "You know, you were very cruel to me last night."
Andy laughed and leaned her head on his shoulder. "I know, I'm sorry. If it makes you feel better, you were cruel also."
Klaus leaned his head on hers and wrapped his arm around her. They ended up both falling asleep like that, their dreams free of Mikael.
