Part Three: The lies- Hidden (10 Years Later)

Chapter Twenty-One: In The End...

"So, is the plan still ago?" Ai asked. Shinichi looked up and nodded.

"She believed it, for the most part. I bugged a pillow, a picture and her clothes, although she's not too stupid. She probably knows about me bugging her..."

"How'd you manage to do it?" Shiori asked as she sat down.

"I'd rather not talk about it, I feel guilty."

"What did you do?" Ai asked. She knew it was something regretful but didn't know what it exactly was. She saw the shame in his eyes. "You didn't sleep with her, did you?"

"I...well..."

"We're never going to talk about this again," he said as he kissed her.

"Right."

He started to feel her up. She slightly moaned. Perhaps they've had too much too drink...

They could feel each other's heat. It only took about two seconds before they found themselves in a bedroom.

He pushed her onto the bed, keeping their lips locked for as long as possible. He took off his jacket and it dropped to the floor. She fondled his belt and undid it, causing his pants to drop revealing dark blue boxers. He helped her with her dress and let it drop revealing a dark red lace bra with matching panties.

Shinichi grinned, quite pleased with himself, knowing what he's about to do but clearly no conscience to snap him out of it.

"You like what you see?" Vermouth asked. Shinichi groaned."Shut up." He undid her bra releasing her breasts. She kissed him hard and smirked under the kiss as she finished undressing him.

She began stroking his swollen manhood. He leaned into her hand and pulled off her panties.

He pushed her onto the bed and kissed her once more before entering her. She let out loud pleasurable moan as he thrust in and out.

As she was distracted over the pleasure, Shinichi took the opportunity to slip a bugging chip into her bra. She smiled and leaned into him for a kiss before he pulled out so she could suck his cock.

He released into her mouth. "Fuck." They both relaxed for a moments until the silence was broken by Ty on the other side of the door.

"Mia? Shinichi? Ran's getting worried..."

"We'll be there in a few seconds..." Vermouth said getting off the bed, quickly getting dressed. Shinichi watched her as she went to the mirror to fix her hair and makeup. Shinichi quickly bugged a pillow and her dresser.

"That was...interesting..."

"I've never thought I'd be so attracted to someone before..." she said. He looked up at her as he threw on his jacket.

"Don't get used to it..."

"So that was that, I guess."

"We just have to plan accordingly..."

Shinichi nodded.

"As for right now, we're good. It doesn't seem like they plan to attack now, but they will when they get the chance. Don't let them have the upper hand. Stay cautious. They could have this place bugged."

"They could be watching us too." Shiori added. She was looking out the window.

"Yes."

"Everything should be fine, Shiratori said he'd watch the house with Takagi and Ito." Shinichi said.

"As long as the police are alert..."

"Don't worry, they'll be gone before we know it. When they attack, be it now or later, we'll be ready."

Ai nodded. She still felt uneasy, but she had to get used it. Shiori walked over and stood next to Shinichi.

"How are you so sure we can trust the police?" Shiori asked. Shinichi turned to her.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know, I guess I'm starting to get paranoid too. I just don't want them to find us and kill us."

He looked at her, steady in the eyes.

"You're under our protection, I promise."

"Mom?" Ran looked down at her eldest child.

She was cooking dinner and was so deep in her thoughts that she didn't realize that she was burning the food.

"You're...burning dinner."

She looked back the pan and then grabbed the handle. She dumped it into the trash.

"Looks like we're ordering or going out." She tried to act happy, like there was nothing wrong.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm fine."

"You don't seem fine...and I happen to know that something is wrong. Are those people coming back?"

"No sweetie. We'll be fine. Now, go get cleaned up and maybe I can convince your father to go out tonight."

Conan gave up and headed towards his room.

Shinichi came through the door around 5:42.

"Hey," Ran said as she stepped into the hall.

Shinichi looked up and gave her a quick and small smile.

"No time to talk. I have to do something important."

"Shinichi..."

"What!?" He realized that maybe yelling was a bit unnecessary. He took a deep breath and looked at her in the eyes, "Yes? What is it?"

"It's just...I've had a lot on my mind and dinner was a disaster tonight. Do you think we could go out to eat?"

"I...don't know, Ran."

"Shinichi, what's wrong?" She asked.

He didn't reply at all.

She cleared her throat.

"Well, the kids and I want to go out."

"I don't think that's a good idea."

"Why not?" She had him now.

"It's...just...fine. We'll go out."

She gave a smile as she headed upstairs to get the kids.

The phone began to ring. Shinichi anxiously picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Kudo, it's Hattori. Turn on your TV. There's something you should see."

He walked into the living room holding the phone against his ear and the remote in hand.

"On the news..."

Shinichi sat down on the couch, staring at the devastation that appeared on the screen.

"Breaking News: Osaka has been completely evacuated due to a bomb threat in the area. All surrounding areas within a 10 mi radius should do the same."

"Where are you now?"

"Kazuha and I are on the way to your place."

"I'm not sure if that's a good idea."

Ran stepped into the room with the kids, all dressed up and ready to go.

"I'll text you," he clicked off the phone.

"We're ready," she said with a smile. Her smile quickly disappeared when she saw the TV. "Shinichi, what's happening?"

He turned to the TV and back to her.

"It's nothing..." he signaled the kids to leave the room, "why don't you kids go upstairs while your mom and I have a quick talk, ok?"

They groaned and headed upstairs.

Shinichi and Ran sat on the couch.

"Osaka had a bomb threat."

"What!?"

"Kazuha and Hattori are on their way."

"You don't think it's them do you?"

"Think? No. Completely acknowledge that it's them, yes. Damn it! This is going to be one hell of a showdown. I-I don't know what to do. I'm not so sure if we're ahead of them or if they're ahead of us. It could easily go either way."

"Shinichi, maybe we should leave the country? They probably won't follow."

He looked at her as if she was standing on her hands and clapping at the same time.

"Do you really think they won't follow? For all we know, they could be everywhere. They could be watching us right now, Ran! They could attack at any given moment. Don't you think that if we left-"

He paused. He had an idea.

"What?" Ran asked.

"They'll follow me...but they won't go after you guys."

All of a sudden Ran felt like there was a knot in her stomach.

"Shinichi...you're not thinking..."

"Yes. You and the kids and your parents and anyone else involved will leave."

"Shinichi, no. I'm not leaving you here."

"We have no choice. Time is being cut short. We don't have many options. I will not forgive myself if anything were to happen to you and the kids or anyone."

"Shinichi."

"Don't argue with me!" He shouted, causing Ran and the kids to jump. He sighed and put his hands on her shoulders, "Please, Ran. Just listen to me. I will be fine. Your safety is more important than my own. The kids need to be safe too. So please, don't fight with me. You're going and that's final."

"Conan?" Akane turned to her big brother. He looked back at her. "What's going to happen?"

"I don't know." He looked back down into the living room, spying from above.

"Just tell the kids that plans have changed," Shinichi said as he dialed his parents, "Go!"

Ran turned around in disbelief and headed towards. Conan and Akane quickly charged into their rooms.

She came to Conan's room and sighed, "How much did you hear?" He looked up.

"What do you mean?"

"I know you were there listening..." She stepped in and Akane entered the room too.

"Mommy?"

Ran sat on the bed and pulled Akane onto her lap and Conan under her arm.

"Listen, your dad wants us to leave."

"But why?" Akane asked. "What's happening? Is daddy coming with us? Why is Auntie Kazuha and Uncle Heiji coming to visit?"

Ran began to tear up, "We're under a terrorist attack. Your father wants us to be safe so we're leaving with grandma and grandpa...you should pack your things. Not everything, just the necessities."

"Can my teddy bears come too?"

Ran tried to let out a snicker, "Yes."

"Can I bring my laptop."

Shinichi stepped into the room.

"My parents are looking into buying tickets for everyone. You'll be on the next fly out to America." He sighed and sat on the bed with his family, "Everything will be fine. The most important part is, you'll be safe."

"What is it?" Ty asked. Vermouth turned to him with a grin.

"Their plan is to leave."

"So everything is falling into place? Do you think Kahlua and Sherry will leave as well?"

Vermouth sat down on the window bench, "it's hard to say. This could go two ways."

Ty pulled out his phone and dialed.

Applejack woke up in panic as his phone rang. He sat up and reached for his phone.

His hair all scruffy and voice sounding rough, he answered.

"Hey, you could be a little more considerate about a person's sleeping schedule."

"It's 6PM..."

"Yeah, what's your point?" He scratched the back of his head.

"We're across the Kudo residence right now. I have a task for you."

"You ain't the boss of me!"

Ty coughed. "For now, I am. Anyway, you need to spy on the parents."

"You mean Yusaku and Yukiko?"

"Yeah..."

Applejack sighed.

"Uh...yeah. Ok. I'll take a drive by."

"And document anything, and I mean anything."

"Ok, alright. Whatever you say, JD. Oh and how's that being married to Vermouth working out for ya?"

"Just go, AppleJack..."

"Haha, ok. I'll report back soon."

"So ya think it's the Black Organization?" Heiji asked. Shinichi nodded.

"Yeah, I do. Conan said the people that came in had alcoholic nicknames...AppleJack apparently has quite the reputation."

"And ya plan on leavin' the country 'til it passes over?"

"Just the family. I'm staying."

"That's insane, Kudo."

"I just want my family to be safe."

"Ya can't do that if yer dead..." his tone was very serious and worried.

"Hattori. You can't change my mind."

"I know, I just...are ya really gonna fight them?"

"We need justice. I will not rest until this is done and over."

Ran and Kazuha stepped into the living room to be with Heiji and Shinichi.

"Shinichi, this is crazy. I don't want you to stay behind alone..."

Heiji looked at Ran.

"He won't be alone...I'll stay too."

"Like hell ya will." Kazuha said, sternly.

"Kazuha, it ain't safe for ya to be here. Think of Kichiro and our unborn child."

Ran turned to Kazuha. "You're pregnant too-" Ran stopped talking.

Shinichi looked up.

"Ran?"

She sighed.

"I was going to tell you, I just...I was thinking of the perfect time to tell you."

He hugged her.

Ran...

Ok...so the end...Nah, just kidding. This will mark the end of this chapter. Sorry for it being a bit short and kinda leading nowhere.

I needed to give you something and the something was just to drag for the next chapter. Chapter 22 will be longer and will NOT be the final chapter.
