Almost a month had passed since the blacking out incident that Clarke and Lexa had went through and they still werent any closer to knowing or understanding what had happened to them. They never brought it up either because thinking about it was enough of a headache. Proposals had been put on hold during all of the chaos so now both were insecure and uncertain if the other would say yes. Life in Polis was good for them though. Having friends and family in close proximity really made them almost forget about their problems. Alas, when things start becoming too good fate always throws in a wrench.
Clarke sat in front of the makeshift vanity in her shared room with Lexa. One of their handmaidens hummed happily as she braided Clarkes hair into intricate designs. Clarke stared at her reflection in the large cracked mirror. Her eyes scanned slowly over her face surprised and yet not at the fact that she looked older. Not tired, but her eyes held age and wisdom that she didn't have when she was up in space on the Ark. Sometimes when she thought about the fact that she was born and lived in the sky it felt surreal. Like it was some else who had lived that life.
That morning Clarke had awoken with a tiny throbbing pain on her temple. She touched the tiny scar where she had pulled out a needle all those weeks ago. Her mind started to wander toward that perilous subject. She quickly shook her head to rid herself of her thoughts. Her handmaiden looked puzzled but continued with her braiding. Clarke heard footsteps coming towards her bedroom and smiled. She knew it was Lexa. A few moments later Lexa barged in covered in dried blood. She smirked at Clarkes wide eyes and calmly replied "not mine. I brought down two large jaguars today. Bellamy caught a chicken". Clarke chuckled at her words. She secretly loved that Lexa had become fond of her friends and liked to tease her on occasion. "you'll make a warrior of him eventually" she told Lexa in a mock serious tone. She stopped joking when she saw Lexa undressing and walking toward their wash room. "are you going to just stare Wanheda, or are you going to join me?" Lexa teased. Clarke wasted no time and quickly followed her towards the steaming room which smelled like exotic flowers. She could definitely get used to living in Polis!
