The second they landed, Pepper was waiting for them, her mouth opened slightly in fright and shock, "Are those bullet holes?!"
It wasn't too surprising she would be worried, between them, Tony and Mia had racked up over 50 bullet holes, a tank missile sized dent, and numerous dents from where the raptor ran into the witch. Jarvis was attempting to control the arms that removed the suits, the structure of them had been changed due to the damage they had sustained.
All Tony said in their defence was, "Let's face it, this isn't the worst thing you've caught us doing."
"Excuse me Anthony?"
"Right, worst thing you've caught me doing," now dislodged from his suit, Tony walked over to his desk and faced Pepper, a USB in his hand, "I have a job for you Pepper."
"Yes?"
"Take this, it is a USB, I want you to go into my office and copy all shipping manifests onto this," he placed it into her hand only for her to put it back onto the desk.
"Tony, you know that I would help you do anything, but I cannot help you if you are going to start all of this again. If you push it…"
The brunette looked up suddenly, "What? Quit? You stood by my side as I reaped the benefits of destruction but now that Mia and I are trying to protect the people that Stark Industries has put in harm's way, you'd walk out?"
"You're going to kill yourself Tony, or kill Mia, and I refuse to be a part of that!"
"I wasted the first part of my life being a warmonger, with very few parts I can now look back and be proud of," tapping his arc reactor, "This is my second chance to be worthy of those I have, the reason we were saved, and I know in my heart that it is the right thing to be doing. Please, you are family, you don't quit on family."
For a second, Mia was certain that Pepper was going to finally give into her feelings but she stopped at the last second, causing the witch to curse her internally, and took the USB from the desk, "If you get yourself or Mia killed, I will resurrect you and kill you all over again."
The grin that appeared was threatening to split Tony's face, "I would like to see that happen. Remember, all shipping and also the manufacturing orders. And please be careful."
"I will," shooting Mia a tiny smile, Pepper head off.
It was late, because of the damage they had gone through, the suits hadn't been able to hit full speed and by the time they had landed it was nearing midnight, and the twins were sound asleep in bed. After sneaking into their shared bedroom to check on them, the brunettes had head back to the garage to work, the suits needed repairs that even Jarvis wasn't advanced enough to do.
By the time they had gone to bed, the sun had already risen and they had said good bye to Gunnar and Tyra, both of whom were heading off for a tennis doubles tournament in Nevada, Happy was taking them due to what was going on at home.
Mia was woken to Jarvis setting off every alarm in the house, and a car squealing from the driveway. Barely awake, the witch hastily moved to the lounge, where Jarvis' main console was, and instantly saw the trail of toppled over furniture heading towards the elevator, which was heading to the garage.
Now wide awake, the witch raced downstairs to the garage, just in time to catch Tony as he fell out of the elevator, "What in the hell?!"
"Obadiah," Tony wheezed out, his whole body covered in sweat.
Looking down, Mia saw that his arc reactor was missing, "God damnit, what happened Anthony?"
"He ordered our kidnapping, wanted me dead, is going after Pepper"
Shattering the glass case that held her old reactor, Mia quickly placed the underpowered one into her own chest and put hers into Tony, seeing him jolt from the magnet being powered once more, "Where is she?"
The answer came from the doorway, James was standing there, shocked, "She's with Coulson and 4 others, they're going to arrest Obadiah. Asked me to come check on you both."
"Oh that's not going to end well," Mia got into her suit while Tony was helped by his friend, "That's not enough people."
"That is the coolest thing I've ever seen"
"Not bad hey?" Tony hopped down and stood shoulder to shoulder with his sister.
"Need me to do anything else?" Rhodey asked.
Their faceplates flipped down, "Keep the skies clear."
With that, the siblings shot off. Mia kept an eye on her output readings, the chest piece she wore now was already at under half the power it would give off, so powered down and took a ride with Tony, "Remind me we have to start keeping extras lying about, so this doesn't happen again."
"If this happens again, I will buy you an island," Tony half-joked, already planning on developing a couple, just in case.
They were almost at Stark Industries when Mia got through to her friend, "Phil, for Odin's sake, get Pepper and get the bloody hell out of there! Don't go far, we may need you soon enough."
"Are you certain you can handle this Mia? He's got a suit," Phil said as he ran past his dead agents, he would handle those later on.
"Yeah, we worked that out after he STOLE MY REACTOR!" Tony yelled, rather pissed at it happening.
"Right then," the agent hung up and saw the pair just before he tackled the redhead out of the way.
Mia had powered back up just as they were descending, and joined in flying headfirst into the larger version of the suit she and Tony had created in the desert. They burst through the asphalt and into the freeway that ran below and alongside the business estate.
Obadiah got to his feet first, grabbing an SUV that drove into his path, "Hold it Tony, you know I will."
"Alright Stane," powering down his gauntlets, Tony began to power his chest, "Man against man."
The beam of power shot straight into the larger suit, and the SUV went flying. Mia grabbed it and instantly placed it down, jumping so that it didn't run her over, and calling into the scared woman driver, "STOP!"
She didn't, she sped up, but the witch just went over the roof, rolling as she landed, just in time to see Stane hit Tony with a motorcycle. Before she got there, he was thrown into a bus, and a missile launched. Without a second thought, she summoned Tony to her, just as the bus exploded, but it was noticed by Obadiah, who turned on her, "A witch."
"Don't know what you're on about Stane, all I know is that you are one messed up bastard," another missile came and forced them both to shoot into the air, "Truth hurts apparently."
"Nothing but a freak. I see you made improvements, so have I," they watched as the large suit slowly began rising into the sky.
Jarvis came over their HUD, "It seems his suit can fly too."
"Duly noted Jarvis," Tony said sarcastically before saying, "Mia, grab on tight, we're going for a flight."
Powering down her suit, the witch did as told, and smiled as they soar into the sky, watching as the suit below them gained but also began to get a thick layer of ice all over, "The icing problem, very ingenious my brother."
As soon as Stane grabbed Tony's foot, Mia struck him hard in the face, cracking the frozen metal and causing him to plummet to the ground. On the way back down, the pair were thrown about as the arc reactor that Howard Stark had created almost 50 years earlier was destroyed by Stane falling into it at high speed.
Landing by Phil and Pepper, the witch instantly began pulling her suit off, drawing odd looks from the other three, "I was at 10%, we need to get another made yesterday Tony."
"Ok," facing their assistant, Tony gave her a soft smile before lifting his sister into his arms, "Phil, mind bringing the suit around for us? We can give you the rundown then."
"Of course, after I take Miss Potts home"
The redhead though, before letting the pair leave, hit them both in the arm, Mia less harshly, "Stay safe. Please."
"Are we ever anything but?" The group were all laughing as the siblings in spirit left.
