Chapter 21: Letter
"Nice to meet you Kitten", I said and smile back.
The teacher then goes over the syllabus and explains today assignment. The assignment is to draw a portrait of the person sitting next to you.
"This should be easy", I said as I turn to face Kitten.
"Speak for yourself, I suck at drawing people", Kitten said and frowned.
"Well just do your best and I'm sure your best will be great", I said.
Kitten smiled, "Wow Kori you're really nice", she said.
I smile and start drawing the outline of Kitten face I figure this is the perfect time to get to know Kitten better, "So tell me about yourself?" I asked.
"Well my favorite color is pink, I love shopping and cuticle care and I recently transferred to an all-girls school", she said.
"Wow that must be interesting", I said.
Kitten shrugs, "Not really, it's pretty boring actually, the only reason I go there is because I got kicked out of my old school", she said.
I glance up from my sketch pad and tilt my head to the side surprised at what she said; Kitten seemed like such a nice person so of course I was curious of why she had to transfer school, "You got kicked out of your old school? What for?" I asked.
Kitten smiles, "That's a long story for another time", she said.
"Oh ok", I said, I notice her smile is a bit off but this must be a sensitive subject for her to talk about. I brush it off as nothing and continue with my sketch.
"So now it's your turn to tell me about yourself", she said.
"Well my favorite color is purple, I love art and shopping and I actually got into scholarship to Gotham Academy", I said.
"Wow that's impressive", she said, "Do you like it there?" she asked.
"Yea the campus is beautiful and my friends and boyfriend are amazing", I said and blush when I think about Richard.
Kitten laughs, "You're totally blushing!" she said and then glances back down at her sketch pad, "So who's the lucky guy?" she asked.
"Richard Grayson", I said.
Kitten freezes and her pencil snaps, "The Dick Grayson? Playboy Dick Grayson Also known as Gotham's prince?" she asked.
"Yea", I said confused, sometimes I forgot that my boyfriend is a celebrity.
"Wow I'm impressed", she said, "You tamed the great Dick Grayson that's impressive", she said as he draws more aggressively.
I shrug, "Yea I guess, he's just a normal guy if you really get to know him", I said.
Kitten smiles that odd smile again, "Well I'm sure I will realize that when... I mean if I get the chance", she said and laughs.
The bell rang and I quickly pack up my things, I glance at my phone and get a text from Richard saying that he is waiting outside.
"See you next class Kori", Kitten said and I wave as I leave the class.
I walk outside the building toward the parking lot and see Richard leaning against his car; he is dressed in a pair of dark jeans with a white shirt and is wearing sunglasses.
I rush over to him and take the sunglasses off his face, "Hey, your messing up my mature look", he said.
I giggle and give him a kiss, "I think you look sexy with or without the sunglasses", I said.
Richard grins and opens the door for me, "You feel like having a date night?" he asked.
"With you? Anytime", I said.
Richard drives us to a local sushi restaurant the hostess and waiters are quick to seat us at a private table. Richard orders us some drinks and a couple of pieces of each type of sushi roll. The waiter then leaves and returns with our plates of sushi.
"So how was your art class?" he asked.
"Pretty good, the professor is nice and our first assignment was really easy", I said.
"See I told you it wouldn't be so bad", Richard said.
"Yea yea yea", I said and stick my tongue out at him.
Richard sticks his tongue out back and then attempts to pick up a piece of sushi with his chopsticks.
"Damn chopsticks, how do you use these things?!" he yelled in frustration.
I giggle, "Her allow me", I said and show him how to properly use chopsticks; I take a piece of sushi and feed it to him.
Richard quickly eats the sushi and gives me a kiss, "Delicious", he said, "And I'm not just talking about the sushi", he said and winks.
I giggle, "You're such a perv", I said and kiss him.
We walk to a local ice cream parlor after and get some ice cream and sit at a nearby bench to talk. Richard tells me some stories funny stories about him and his brother Tim and more about his family. I tell him more about my family and some funny stories of how my brother Ryan and I play pranks on Komi. I loved date nights with Richard it was nice seeing him be himself and not be so stressed and worried about everything. We ended up talking for hours.
"Ready to head back home?" Richard asked.
"Huh, what?" I said and I glance up from Richard's chest. I hadn't realized that I had started to doze off.
Richard chuckles, "Let's go sleepy-head, it's close to your curfew anyway, I don't want your mom to chop my balls off", he said.
I laugh, "I'm sure she was just joking when she said that", I said.
Richard shakes his head, "I rather not find out", he said.
We walk hand in hand and when we reach Richard's car I freeze and gasp in horror.
"What the hell!" Richard yelled.
Richard's car is badly damaged, all the tires are slashed, the doors look like it has been beaten with a baseball bat, and the front window is smashed with a brick.
"When I find out who did this they will pay!" Richard yelled and starts swearing obscenities.
I notice a folded piece of white paper with my name on it attached to the brick. I pick it up and glance at the paper in horror.
"Richard", I said and he comes to my side and I hand him the note and his facial expression changes from disgust and horror.
I'm coming for you and when I do, this car won't look as bad as your face will once I'm done with you bitch!
