SUMMARY: this continues from the last chapter
In the morning Deeks gets up around six to see that Renko is asleep but Carson is off somewhere only knows because can hear him on the phone. He takes a shower and grabs his backpack just as Nate walked in the room handing him some coffee, "Renko and Carson are going to be floating around the school today."
"Great just what I need is a babysitter."
Carson came over, "At the moment you need one or more."
"Yeah, lets see if you can be good at it though."
Renko walked over yawning, "That's hurtful kid."
Nate was laughing, "Wont talk about the last time you did a detail like this."
"SHUT UP!" Renko told him friend.

Around noon, Deeks walked into the lunch room with a few people he knew and headed right to where Kayla was sitting with some of her friends, "So what happened to you last night?"
Deeks shrugged and thought, "I am sorry just got caught up with something with my brother."
She could tell something was bothering him, "Want to talk about it?"
He shrugged as saw someone walking over, "What you doing here?"
Ray clapped him on the shoulder, "Heard about what happened and thought best place to catch you and check on you."
Kayla walked away, "So Angela called and told you? I am doing okay."
"So where you staying now?"
"How about we talk about this after school is over?"
"I think can find the time so how about usual spot? If remember where that is."
"Yea, I will see you there about four."
Angela walked over, "Sorry thought he should-"
He stopped her, "I know and thanks."
She hugged her friend, "I can see your hurting and could use someone."
He pecked her on the cheek, "I know and was thinking of calling him."

Around four after school was over the teen had already text Nell to let her know that he was headed out to get some dinner with his friend but he knew Renko was going to be following him. Ray was sitting on a stool inside AngRod Bar&Grill when he walked in, "Nice place and name."
Ray shrugged handing him a soda, "You know me its named after both of us it seems."
"Your mom was a smart person."
They laughed, "Yea and miss her all of time and thanks for being there."
"Angela has got me through tough times so was natural."
Angela walked in and headed into the back, "I don't know what to think if she had been there that day with you."
"She was supposed to be but something stopped her."
"She was on the phone with me forgetting supposed to meet with you."
She came out passing them some plates of fries, "I think that's what she had told me a few days later."
"So what has happened since last saw you?"
The teen sighed, "My dad was arrested for something and Nell helped me find my brother."
Ray was now grinning, "I recall the small woman but am happy for you."
"He's a little more crazy than you it seems but were getting use to each other."
Both his friends laughed, "Not sure if should be hurt or not?"
"Its alright, were getting to no each other and so far its been nice not to worry about everything."
"I am happy for you to get into a good place but should meet him soon."
Angela hugged her friend, "Since you need it think can start here if you want to."
"Sure need to fill out some paperwork?"
Ray shook his head, "Am sure can talk to the boss and get you in."
Just than a man walked out, "Was wondering when you were going to show up kid."
Mason tapped him on the shoulder, "I have been busy."
Mason maybe a gang leader for small group with loads of tattoos but his gang made sure to keep an eye out for his friends.
"That's what Chava had told me but attracting trouble for sure."
He glared at the other man, "And you didn't say a thing when happened?"
Chava held up his hands, "Who you think called the cops? I stayed with you even knocked out."
"Let me think about the offer and get back to you."

Was another few hours before he headed home and found the place empty so he dropped down on the couch before got a text

how was your dinner?
MARTY:
caught up with some old friends so was nice
NELL:
good to hear but the team caught a case so should head back here
MARTY:
can't I just stay where I am now?
NELL:
Hetty thinks best to come back
MARTY:
this sucks you know that but guess will be there

He grabbed his backpack and headed to grab a change of clothes and his laptop before there was a knock at the door letting Renko in and the man stood around waiting for him but the teen could tell something was on his mind, "What's wrong now?"
"I didn't know you were friends with Mason Cruz?" he told him.
"So what does that have to do?"
"Other than a leader of Latin Snakes?"
"I grew up in the same neighborhood that he use to run and his brother use to be friends with Ray so became friends. You can check he's not that much trouble."
