Chapter 21 - Village
"Victory!" Luffy shouted. "Now we really have the map, don't we?" Shiro holded out the map before pocketing it. Nami meanwhile was still holding her treasure. "Buggy said that he only takes the best treasures for himself, so this bag's contents are of the highest quality! This much treasure should be worth at least 10 Million Beli!" Nami stated hugging the bag lovingly.
Roger just looked a bit disturbed. "I've divided it into two bags so one of you hold half of it. This treasure is so heavy that carrying it alone is difficult." She stated. Shiro stared at his ripped up hat. He still hasn't been wearing it. "You think you can fix it?" Roger asked quitly. Luffy looked at them with guarded eyes. "It's alright. I got my frustation out on Buggy." Shiro stated, still examining his hats new holes.
"Hey, Captain Buggy got knocked out of sight...", "What...should we do?" The Buggy crewmembers asked scared. "For now let's pretend we're still passed out.", "That's a good idea..." They agreed. "Oi Zoro, get up! Let's go." Luffy was waking Zoro by patting him on the head repeatedly.
"Did Shiro finish the fight...?" Zoro asked sleepily. "Yeah, we also got the map and the treasure." Roger replied enthusiastically. "...aah I don't think I can walk yet..." Zoro stated, feeling dizzy. "Obviously! If you guys can still walk, than you aren't human..." Nami said. "Why did you include us?" Shiro, Roger and Luffy asked curiously. "You lot are the weirdest!" Shiro rolled his eyes at that. Roger had a coughing fit and Luffy ignored her.
"We should wake up the chief." Roger stated between coughs. Before they could do much of anything they were interrupted. "You guys... we're the people of this village. Did the pirates stir up a fight amongst themselves...? If you know anything please tell us..." A villager stated.
"Oh...so you're the villagers. I think some of the pirate crew are still here. If you want us to tell you then there isn't much left to tell you..." Nami said. "Ah! Chief!" A villager shouted. "Goodness Gracious! Please Get Up!", "Dammit! What the hell happened here!?", "It's Definitely The Work Of Those Pirates!" The villagers shouted.
"Ah, sorry... I did that to the chief!" Luffy stated calmly. The villagers now looked upon the pirates with mean looks. "Hey! Why did you tell them that kinda thing on purpose..." Nami asked. "You saw me do it, right...?" Luffy asked them all calmly. Shiro yawned tiredly and nodded. "I Know, But Still! That Was Because You Had A Good Reason.." Nami whispered/yelled at Luffy.
"All Of You, How Dare You Do This To Our Chief...", "It Doesn't Matter What Sort Of Excuse You Give Us!", "Who The Hell Are You!? Could You Be Pirates!?" The villagers screamed raising their speers for attack. Nami was thinking of their chances to escape the irate villagers. "We ARE Pirates!" Luffy and Roger stated. Causing Nami to sweatdrop.
The villagers charged. Zoro was laughing despite his injury. "BAKA!" Nami insulted Luffy. "But it's the truth!" Luffy insisted. "How about we take what we own and run away now?" Shiro asked with glazed over eyes.
Roger and Luffy nodded grinning brightly. "Aah! They're running away! Chase them!" The villagers shouted after them. Nami was clinging to her bag of treasure while Roger dragged Zoro with him, Shiro and Luffy were behind them. "We won't let you get away! We'll pay you back for what you did to the chief!" The villagers shouted running after them.
"Why the hell did you make the situaion more complicated?" Nami questioned panting. "This is a good village!" Luffy shouted cheerfully. "Wha...?" Obviously Nami didn't understand. Shiro chuckled goodnaturly.
"For their chief, for just one person... they're all getting that mad!" He explained. "No matter what excuse we give, they'll still be mad at us!" Roger finished also chuckling. Nami just watched them foughtfully.
"They're running away through an alley!" A villager pointed. The villagers were about to continue before...
"Woof!" Shushu was barking at them. All the villagers stopped shocked. "Shushu!" Nami shouted shocked. "Aah, that dog!" Roger mused. "Hey Shushu! Move out of the way, quickly! Those guys are bad pirates!" The villagers shouted but Shushu just continued barking and growling at them.
"Why are you stopping us? Shushu!" The villlagers continued to yell while the dog continued to bark. They continued to argue like that. Luffy looking back grinned.
~Harbor~
"Hua...I was getting pretty worried. Thanks to Shushu we barely got away. Why does it alway end up this way?" Nami complained. *That coming from a pirate thief...* Shiro thought rolling his eyes. "Who cares what they think... we did what we came to do!" Luffy said amused, looking at Shiro with a look that said 'I know exactly what you just thought.'
"Well, it's not quite like that." Nami answered. "Is this your boat?" Roger asked noticing the larger boat besides their dingy. "Wah! It's cool. I envy you." Luffy stated excited. "I don't think so, I stole it from a bunch of stupid pirates." Nami replied. Shiro tilted his head as he saw three pirates rising from the boat.
"WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU, THIEF!" The three shouted. "You...you guys are..." Nami replied nervously. "We knew you'd come back if we stayed here.", "Hehehehehe! I never dreamed that we'd see this boat again in this very harbor after you stole it.", "You won't be able to say that you've forgotten us...!" The three pirates shouted. "You know them?" Luffy asked Nami. Shiro and Roger only looked thoughtful at those three. "Hmm...! Sort of.." Nami replied smiling.
"'Sort of'!? We have a LONG HISTORY!" One of the three shouted. "So you have a gang now? I guess we get to teach you all a lesson." One of them said noticing the four with the thief. "Stealing from others is such a terrible thing to do..." He said approaching Roger, who was holding up Zoro, intent on waking Zoro.
"Hahahaha, man, don't faint like a coward! Stupid! Hey, hold your face up properly!" He said while patting Zoro on the head, before his hand was gripped tightly and Zoro did look up enraged. Shiro, who has the pirate's wrist in his grip, also looked rather annoyed. Their faces combined send the three pirates screaming, fleeing into the sea and swimming away as fast as they could. Leaving Nami and Luffy to stare after them flabbergasted.
~Village~
"Aah! Chief, You're awake!" The villager shouted. "I'm so glad you're alright!" A villager let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah..." answered the Chief in a small tone. "Just what on earth happened,Chief?!" Another villager questioned. "This..." The chief was still shaky as he stared at the destroyed bar.
"When we came it was already like this. Did you see anything?" A village elder asked. The chief looked shocked. "Ah! Until just a while ago these five weird guys were..." A villager begun. "Those kids...were those kids still alive...!?" The chief asked upon hearing that. "...That idiot! Doing such a rude thing to an old guy like me! How dare he!" The chief stated holding a hand to his forehead.
"Don't worry. We chased those idiots away.", "But I'm still pretty mad. It was like they were laughing at us!", "Those kids don't know how mad we were about the damage done to our village.", "We should probably go and catch those kids..." The villagers said misgivingly.
"SHUT UP! Only one person has the right to be mad at those kids... ONLY ME! I won't forgive anyone who says anything bad about those kids other than me!" The chief shouted. "Why are you siding with THOSE PIRATES chief!" A villager yelled. "Are those kids just gonna disappear now!? Did they go to the harbor!?" The chief asked starting to remove that odd chest armor he was wearing.
"Yes...! They ran off in the direction of the harbor..!" A villager said. "Aah! CHIEF!" The villagers shouted as the chief begun to run to the harbor. "Dammit! Coming into my village and messing around and then leaving without my permission...! The number of things I have to say to you lot are piled like a mountain." The chief shouted, discarding his metal armor.
~Harbor~
"Okay, let's go!" was heard. On both ships the sails were set ready. "Hey, that flag has Buggy's mark on it." Luffy stated. "It was those pirates' boat so of course it does. I'll erase it later." Nami replied nonchalantly.
"I still have TONS to say to you...!" The chief shouted. Shiro suddenly snapped to attention at hearing the chief before he stood at the harbor. "Stop Right There YOU MORONS!" Chief shouted out panting from his sprint. "Mister Chief!" Roger replied. The four pirates and the one thief waited till the chief regained his breath again.
"I'M SORRY! I OWE YOU!" The chief shouted, crying happily. That caused all five of them to smile, smirk and grin. "Don't worry about it! Just live Happy Lives!" Luffy shouted back. Shiro was secretly smirking before highfiving Roger behind everyones back. "I don't know how to express my gratitude...!" The chief stated happily.
~On sea~
"WHAT? YOU LEFT THE TREASURE BEHIND!? I GAVE YOU HALF OF IT, DIDN'T I!? THAT'S FIVE MILLION BELI!" Nami shouted angrily. "Yeah, but since half of the village was destroyed it will take some money to repair it." Came the calm reply.
"THAT'S MY TREASURE!" Nami shouted angrily, having tried to grab Shiro only to be threatened when he grabbed the hilt of his sword and narrowed his eyes at her. "If you want it so badly, Ms. Thief, go and take it back from them." Shiro stated calmly.
"HOW COULD I DO THAT!? IF YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN, YOU'RE DEAD!" At this Shiro glanced at Luffy. "Did she join our crew?" He asked calmly which caused Roger, Luffy and Zoro to laugh heartily. Luffy was shaking his head in a 'No' gesture.
Nami was again screaming about how she would never join a pirate crew and Shiro was asking her, why she then thought they would have much to do with each other in regards of cooperation. Nami was then completly speechless before crossing her arms and she started pouting. Shiro meanwhile smirked at his victory.
