Chapter:

Who's Really Pretending?

Goku

"He looks a lot like you, you know?"

Really? He questioned his companion silently. There really weren't much similarities between the young boy and primate, at least from what he could see.

The little monkey is currently in his mother's arms, sucking on an apple instead of biting. Maybe it doesn't have teeth yet. Gine, his mom, was perched on a branch, cooing at the infant as if the mammal was the most fascinating thing in the world. Though, knowing her, she treats everything as if they were.

What did she call it? A macaque? The furry thing was tiny compared to them and the other monkeys. Its beady eyes were colored blue and a taint of yellow, far from his color. The face was far too pink and wrinkly to appear human, so what could they have in common? Even their tails were different colors. Maybe he meant body shape and if that's the case, "Looks like you too Krillin."

He could hear his friend grumbling about his appearance for a few seconds before letting out a loud sigh, "Are those dragon balls really magical? I mean do you have a guess on where they came from?"

Goku picked up an apple from the pile on the ground, the macaques were a little cautious of them, but soon realized they meant no harm and offered some of their treats. He glanced back at his friend, taking a bite, and nodding to the first question, "Not really, grandpa had the four-star but he never told us the story behind them." He could only assume his grandfather didn't know about the legend.

"Krillin," Both boys turned, "Think we can practice?"

Gine jumped down from the branch with the infant wrapping himself around her neck.

Goku covered his giggle behind his hand before either saw. His mother had warned him to stay put and be more courteous of Krillin's progress, or should he say lack of progress? He wasn't sure why his friend was taking longer than him. Flying isn't hard.

"Oh umm okay," Krillin answered hesitantly, "But shouldn't we move to a clearing or something?"

She shook her head, "I actually want us to try something simpler and this spot seems ideal," He barely paid any attention to their conversation. Goku was more interested on the monkey, who was trying to imitate his mother's movements and speech.

His smile widened at the display. It almost reminded him of his toddler years. Goku would attempt to follow his mother everywhere she went, but usually he'd ended up sulking when his grandpa firmly told him "No." Since he could remember, he had tried to copy his mother and grandfather's fighting styles. He could tell his mom had adapted lots of techniques from grandpa, but still she had her own approaches.

One of the things grandpa pressed on his mother and even him, was never lack in strength and speed, always gain for both. Mom repeatedly showed a favor towards the latter, seems his mother has always been naturally light on her feet, almost as if she herself was weightless. Maybe flying causes this? If that's the case then they should spend time building their strength.

A tug on his pants brought his attention towards the monkey, once on his mother's shoulders now climbing up his back. Grinning at the furry animal he said, "Hi little monkey!"

Practically his entire afternoon was spent playing with the macaques while his mother and Krillin attempted to concentrate on their teaching. He could tell his friend kept getting distracted. Goku offered his help but Krillin declined, twice.

He really wanted to help him, knowing his mother was determined to teach Krillin, and that meant they were pulling off time from recovering their family's heirloom. A selfish part of him wanted his friend to go back to Master Roshi, but another felt happy.

After his grandfather's passing, Goku and his mother were the only humans left in the forest. They never had the need to travel and so they stayed put. It wasn't unknown they were saddened over his passing, but Goku began to miss him differently than his mother. He always said his mother and him never needed anyone but themselves. That isn't entirely true, he still believes they don't need anyone else replacing grandpa Gohan, though he missed having another voice.

His mother has always been protective of him and rarely lets him do anything by himself, always cautious and weighing the cons before the pros. Grandpa was willing to take chances more often and since his mom trusted his opinions she was able to let him have some freedom. If it wasn't for grandpa then he might have never learned to swim, climb, or even hunt! He could have starved! Okay so his mother had never left him hungry, but there's always a first for everything!

Now with Krillin he had a hunch that if they both teamed up then mom would give in more often! He just needed him to trust in his opinions rather than letting fear take over. Like he guessed, it was happening to Krillin right now.

"We should stop," Gine spoke up, "Looks like rain."

Both boys looked up and sure enough the sky was beginning to darken and the scent of rain was starting to reach them.

Now the three of them were taking shelter inside a fairly dry cave, attempting to sleep. The two children were finding it difficult for different reasons.

Goku leaned by his mother's left side, feeling her breath each time she exhaled. Her arms were draped over their shoulders as she slept leaning back on the stone walls.

His eyes watched the monkey, from earlier, huddling his body on top of the mother and curling his tail towards the father's thumb. He actually noticed multiple of them sleeping similar to the first. Some slept with only one adult and others with both. A couple of them slept by themselves but they were between the infants and adult ages.

He couldn't sleep without noticing the family of three ahead of him. Goku arrived inside the cave tiredly, looking forward to sleeping when he noticed the baby monkey already snoozing above his own mom. Only seconds after he noticed them did he see another, bigger primate, crawl its way beside the two. Instantly the mama monkey opened her eye before giving room towards the other. Then the little one slowly wrapped his tail around the other adult's thumb.

Goku could attempt to forget about it and sleep, but he couldn't at least not anymore.

He kept flashing towards multiple conversations his friends had tried to give him before leaving. It seemed a little childish, but he couldn't help pretending just pretending for a little while longer that he hadn't actually had a father at some point. He knew everyone was curious as he was at some point.

After his mother described the differences between boy and girl, he had given some notice towards other kids. Goku saw most of them were with two parents, instead of one. Human or not he knew babies usually are born into a family with a mother and father. Even before leaving Mount Paozu he noticed animals stuck to their mother, but occasionally would some venture with another adult too. He admits before a year ago he assumed babies just showed up to an adult. Now…he guesses not.

Maybe he was being a bit silly, but he'd rather pretend. At least then he'd feel assured that it wasn't his father that made his mother feel distressed, wary, or abandoned.

He glanced at his mother, surprised to see her eyes slightly opened.

She looked at him and then Krillin before letting out a sigh and sat up straighter mumbling, "Shouldn't the two of you be asleep?"

Goku shrugged, "Just thinking."

"Me too," Krillin said.

They glanced at each other, both curious of what was keeping the other up.

Gine let out a sigh, "Thinking hard if the two of you are still awake," Her voice was full of drowsiness, but she continued, "Want to talk about it?"

Neither he nor Krillin said anything at first. Goku peered outside towards the rain, avoiding her gaze. He didn't want to talk about it, but if he didn't say anything then she'd press on till she got the truth out. So what did he do? He gave her the lesser part of his thoughts, "Remembering home."

That's true his mind did wander there, even if it was briefly.

"Oh?" He knew she would have liked to dig deeper, but instead her hand gently scratched his head, "No place like home, huh? Fresh water to bathe in," she teases slightly, "lots of food to hunt, places to explore—like the underwater caves, where you claim that's where the larger fishes are."

"There are!" Goku's sure that's where most of them are hiding, "Bet they're tastier too!" he licked his lips already imagining the types of fish they will find and eat.

"You think anything tastes great," Krillin scoffed, moving his head to stare at the preteen, "Fish is fish, they're all going to taste the same."

Shaking his head he disagreed, "I don't like seawater!" He remembered drinking the water and the amount of salt it had, yuck!

"You're not supposed to drink seawater!"

"How was I supposed to know that?!"

Laughter stopped their banter as Gine gasps repeatedly, "She was right!" Her hands dropping from their heads to gathering them both in her arms. Confused they glanced at the other waiting for her to stop giggling.

"Who was right?" Krillin asks curious while pushing on her grip slightly. He still isn't used to her smothering hugs.

"Fasha!" She practically shouted before lowering her head and voice, "She claimed siblings are prone to arguments! I didn't think that was true or should I say I wasn't aware it was considered normal."

"Siblings?!" Both boys questioned.

Nodding she grinned, "Chi-Chi wasn't the only one who gained a brother."

Goku turned his head back to Krillin wondering what she's talking about. He seemed to realize something since his face revealed complete awe, "How?"

Her arms loosened and she brought the tip of her thumb to her lips, biting down. She often repeated the action when she becomes timid, "Well during our stay-,"

Goku quickly interrupted her, "You two wanted to talk to us together? Don't you want to wait? I—mean umm," He stopped speaking when her attention snapped to him, gazing with surprise, "Never mind?" He tried grinning innocently.

Her lips pursed, searching for something, before giving a relieved sigh and patting his head, "Let's worry about it later." Later sounds good, never sounds better.

"Can we get back to me?" Krillin grumbled.

"Sorry." They apologized.

"Anyways during our stay," She restarted, "I asked Fasha if she could care for little Rust," Her lips quirked at the name, "It seems there are a set of laws to abide in most areas for orphan children to be taken into a new family."

Goku could already tell she was getting excited about something. Her body was shaking happily and her eyes seem to brighten, "I asked her exactly what those laws consist of and how they work," she started moving her hands as if they could explain a memory, "She told me children without families to care for them would usually end up in a building."

She frowned at the next part, "She warned me most housings weren't suitable and stable but because of…funding," pausing to test the word she continued, "A limited amount goes to them. Apparently the Ox-Kingdom isn't known to have many stray children, so they've never placed much thought into constructing a building for them. The few who need a home would usually become a foster child."

"We actually ended up going to the neighboring town to meet up with a…social worker," The twelve year old could see the spark in her eyes return, "A person who helps others with troubles!" He could hear the hint of surprise, "The lady had actually wanted to do a background check and take him to one of those houses, but because of Queen Fasha's position they were able to come into an agreement."

Krillin interrupted her muttering, "She didn't seem much into taking another kid."

"I thought they looked happy." Goku smiled.

Rubbing the back of her neck she nervously giggled, "I actually pleaded," neither boys had to ask as they could imagine the petite Gine practically suffocating the much tougher royal until she agreed to her whims, "Then after she agreed, we got to speaking about you Krillin."

"D—did you…?" He could hear the slight fear in his friend's voice.

Goku was starting to get a slight headache, was he slow? Maybe they were speaking in codes.

"No," Her smile didn't deflate, only widened when Krillin disappointment showed, "At least not yet," she clasped her hands together "The social lady said the best she could do was give us foster care until she could get the suitable documents. To be honest I really have no idea what she meant by that but Fasha said she'd take care of it all!"

"So until then?"

Gine grasped Krillin pulling him onto her lap, "Until then you're only my foster child," her forehead lightly touched his, grinning, "But when we meet up with Fasha again you'll be my official boy like Goku."

Goku finally got it "Krillin's my brother?!" he beamed at the thought. Earlier he was hoping Krillin would be able to stay with them for a while and now it seems he's staying with them for longer, "All right!"

"All right?" He asked in wonder before shaking his head, "Yeah all right!"

The two boys fist bumped each other, showing the other their dimples, "All right!" they repeated together.

Laughing once more before sleep she teases, "Maybe you two should learn some other vocabulary," yawning she nestled the two into her arms before whispering, "Time for sleep, few more hours before sunrise…"

Krillin

The night was practically silent, the rain having stopped moments ago. Few nocturnals could be heard, but none sounded too close for worry. Not that he should, he's next to a couple of natural hunters, his new family.

It seemed odd to even think of the word but that's what they were now. When he first met the duo, he didn't think highly of them. They were both odd.

A mother who was willing to please her son before herself and a son who was…well an idiot. He could see she was bored with some of their trainings and often looked like he did and wanted to pause, but unlike him she kept at it from the beginning. Krillin admits that cheating shouldn't have been the way to go, but cheating was an advice he was given before leaving his previous home. He thought if he cheated like them then maybe he could've been as strong as them.

Snorting at his previous thoughts, he was glad his cheating was put to a stop. If he hadn't taken his training seriously than he wouldn't be where he was now.

Sure he wasn't as strong as Gine or Goku, they were both crazy and wild. They hunted like barbarians, actually taking down an animal and ripping the flesh. Okay they don't actually eat the animals raw, most of the time. They do have common sense to avoid giant, carnivorous creatures whether on land or water. Neither of them seemed particularly happy about entering the city, more curious than anything. He could tell after leaving they were both relieved, maybe from leaving the loud noise. Vaguely, he recalls them mentioning that their hearing was sensitive and he's pretty sure their eyesight was too.

Maybe living like them will increase his instincts too? In the past, he'd be prepared and sleep on somewhere more comfortable than in a cave.

Wordlessly, he thanks Gine and Goku for sleeping beside him. The rain had made it chilly and he wasn't keen on catching a cold. He knew it was him slowing them down. Even Goku had predicted that. Krillin could have stayed with Master Roshi and train, but he did want to go on some adventure. Goku's other friends went on an adventure with him and it seems they all had fun. So far the most fun he's had was training alongside them, amusing to see how each of them took in ridiculous tasks just to train.

His time at the temple didn't bring him any good memories. The monks they met at the tournament had made his stay a nightmare. Unlike him, they actually chose to train at the Orin temple, each accepted from consideration. Krillin was a special case. His father, from what he heard, was a monk before leaving to marry his mother. It seemed he had kept contact with his old friends before his mother's passing. Instead of being left on his own, the monks had brought him to stay and train with them. Right from the moment he was introduced, he had become disliked by all of them! For almost ten years, he had become their so called "punching bag." He left after having enough courage to find and train under Master Roshi.

Imagine his surprise to finding out that the martial artist had already accepted pupils! He didn't want to give up, especially not with those guys waiting for him back at the temple. So he did whatever he could to get on the turtle hermit's good side. Eventually, he had learned that that wasn't any good.

He doesn't know when he finally took his training as serious as the other two. Perhaps it was from the warnings Master Roshi gave him? Or seeing his rival succeeding with little complaint? He used to loath thinking of the twelve year old beating him in everything! He even sulked when he was told the tail gave Goku a boost. And what a boost it was if he was able to destroy an entire arena! If there was a scale measuring their level he'd guess he would be in the lower end, but not the end! He proved that at the tournament.

Smack!

"Ow," Muttering to his self he rubbed his cheek from Goku's mindless tail, "Keep that to yourself, will ya?"

Krillin glanced at Gine's tail, still wondering how he of all people could have missed that?! Well unlike her son who doesn't stop moving day or night. She's actually pretty still and her tail limply by her side. Wasn't Goku making a huge deal that their tail was like their identity? If he didn't know any better he'd say she was hiding something.

He bit his cheek to stop a laugh from coming through. That last thought was humorous, Gine hiding something? She's like an open book!

A chuckle slipped through before he finally leaned back into his new family's embrace. He can't deny he isn't happy that he came with them now. Yeah he may be weaker than them and they aren't exactly your average family, but they're the only ones who've treated him closer to kin. Gine hasn't been giving Goku extra attention. She's actually been keeping both of them under her focus and treating them fairly. Goku, his first real friend, had never held a real grudge against him and easily forgave him for some of the stupid things he's done in the past year. Yeah he's never been able to experience a real family, but he's pretty sure these two came pretty close if not exact.

He had been a little envious of the other kid who got a family, but now he wishes him luck, because now he's got his own.

Sighing, he closed his eyes ready to get a couple of hours of sleep, his mind slowly shutting down before one recent memory made him frown.

Goku

He hung upside down on a branch with an excited expression. Finally, they were moving forward! He had already checked the radar and was slightly surprised, though more pleased, to see a dragon ball close to their location. He guesses last night's storm must have moved it before settling down.

"Are you ready yet?!" He impatiently called out. Grandpa's ball could be the one the radar was picking up and they were wasting time! Goku had a slight feeling the guys who had come for the previous ball would be going after this one too. He just had to find it first!

His mother laughed at him waving her hand, "In a minute," she was kneeling on the ground, rummaging through one of the backpacks before saying "Ah-huh!"

Krillin, who was leaning by the tree, looked curiously at her, "Whatcha find?"

Turning her body slightly, she snickered, "An uninvited guest." In her right arm was the baby monkey giggling at being found. Gine gave back the infant to the mother, before joining the others.

The trio waved goodbye at the macaques, before leaving the area. Goku rode on his Nimbus cloud while Gine flew beside, holding Krillin under her form.

"Son check the radar to see how much further it's at," His mother advised, her eyes occasionally flickering down to see if she can spot an orange sphere.

Goku double checked and sure enough they were heading on the right direction, he turned his head to tell her when he noticed Krillin looking a little green, "If you wanna fly you can't be scared!"

"Who's scared?" He snapped then whispered, "I've just never noticed how high up we were."

"We can actually go higher," Their mother hummed, "But if you're feeling queasy, we can go lower and possibly slow down."

"NO!" Krillin practically shouted, startling Goku and caused Gine to raise her brow, "Its faster this way and it's not so bad now."

Goku's lip twitched, wanting to comment, but decided against it and instead said, "I think it should be around here, should we split up to search?"

His mother cocked her head to the side as if listening to something before, shaking her head, "I think there are others looking for the ball too." They paused in the sky, glancing down to see a couple of guys.

"Are they the same guys from before?" Krillin asks the preteen.

"I'm not sure," He tells them, "The other guys wore the same clothing." At least from what he could remember, "I think they had a ribbon on their arm too."

"Let me guess, red?" The mother asks.

He nodded, also staring at the two figures. Vaguely he could see each wearing a ribbon, "The dragon ball should be under us," He clicked on the radar to get a closer look, "Yeah, I was right."

His eyes met hers wondering how she wanted to approach. He'd rather just go, find the ball, and check if it's theirs before leaving. Though after the surprise attack, his mother hasn't let Krillin or him go anywhere further than she can set her sights. He's noticed her protective nature coming out a little more often than necessary.

"Boys," She started after seconds passed, "I have a plan."

Okay...maybe this wasn't the exact plan, but it was pretty darn close!

Originally, Krillin and him were supposed to lure the men away from the area. Mother was to locate the dragon ball before she gave the signal for them to leave unnoticed. Simple plan.

Unfortunately, the two bozos refused to leave. Goku thought the next best thing was to distract them. He was quick to attack the two sending the blond to Krillin for him to handle and knocking the wolf-man unconscious. They were easy to handle.

"What happened to keeping it quiet?" She had questioned them with a nervous grin. He knew she worried, but they had the dragon ball, the wrong one, but still better they keep it than leave it with those guys.

"Well we did leave without them noticing," He told her confidently.

Krillin let out a gasp pointing towards the ground, "WATCH OUT!"

"Huh?" Son and mother gasped before quickly dodging a speeding weapon.

Goku was grabbed by his collar, pushed beside his mother and Krillin, floating in the air as they gawked at the explosion it caused, "What's that?"

"What do you think it is? It's a missile!"

"A missile?" Goku blinked at where he and his Nimbus were previously at before staring below. Spotting the only possible culprit, he rushed down with his family behind.

A man with bronze, shaggy, hair stood grimacing with a type of launcher in his arms. He wore a blue overcoat, black leather gloves, boots and a red ribbon tied on his neck. The man was tall, but Goku still bets he can beat him. This guy attacked them and destroyed his Nimbus!

"Same red ribbon." Krillin said, he wasn't sure. Though he did notice the red ribbon was starting to become a common material to see on bad people.

Growling, Goku shouted at the man, "You!" He waved his arms in frustration, "That was my Nimbus YOU blew up!" Sure he was getting the hang of flying and practically considered himself an expert, but that Nimbus was a gift!

He saw the man toss his weapon away and opened his mouth to speak, but Goku wasn't done talking. Continuing to shout, he demanded to know what the man was thinking of! What reason did the guy have to blow up his flying cloud! He's only had Nimbus for a year!

"Shut up," The bronze haired man told him loudly, just enough for him to stop demanding answers, "N-,"

"I wasn't done talking!" Goku placed his hands on his hips, narrowing his eyes, "You still need to explain why you made Nimbus disappear!" He continued ranting without pausing.

"Shouldn't you do something?" He heard Krillin whisper before a feminine voice responded, "You're right."

Again he was interrupted by the man, "Shut your trap kid! Didn't your mother ever teach you-,"

"His mother taught him plenty!" His mom jumped to his side copying his pose, "You on the other hand have been very rude!" She scolded.

Groaning, the jerk ran his hands through his hair sighing out, "I can see now where you get your manners."

"Why thank you!"

"That wasn't a compliment!" He snapped then flashed a lazy grin he asked, "Answer me…what do you want with the dragon balls and how did you find it so easily when my army could not?"

Krillin stepped up angrily telling him, "We don't have to tell you anything!"

Chuckling he responded, "Let me guess," His brown eyes met all of theirs slowly, "you all have a dragon radar of your own, don't you? Perhaps a more advanced version than the one we currently have."

Both boys blew raspberries in response before Goku told him, "I'm not saying anything! Say you're sorry first!"

"Such foolishness," He smirked taking off his coat before introducing himself properly, "I am Colonel Silver of The Red Ribbon Army."

Goku raises an eyebrow wondering why should he care. He glanced at his family that showed the same reaction he had.

Gine

"I will not repeat myself," Wasn't he? "Out with it! Why are you searching for the dragon balls and what sort of radar do you have?"

If he wasn't going to repeat himself then why did he?

"None of us are saying anything unless you apologize!" Goku responded already turning away, "Jerk…"

Not expecting anything, the youngest found themselves surprised when their belongings were suddenly taken, "Hey!"

She however wasn't going to let her guard down, not when that scar on the colonel's chest was glaring right at her, Gine knew each wound told something about a character, especially a permanent one.

Sidestepping Colonel Silver, she grasped her boys' bags, pulling their stuff away from him before even he noticed, "Ahh!"

Gine really didn't like the vibe she got from this man. He wasn't faster than them and she can already tell he wasn't as strong either, but there was something about this person. She's met other rude strangers before, why is this guy different?

"Hmm...so my men were correct," He mused, giving her and then the boys a side glance, "No matter, not a single one of you will be able to take me," His ego was certainly not welcome, "Now hand over the sacks or prepare to die."

Pursing her lips towards the comment, she addressed Silver, "I don't think so," She tossed the packs to her boys, "I believe it would be best if you leave us alone." Smiling peacefully with slight hope, she internally prepared to keep him away.

"Not a chance." He told her before charging.

Sighing, she dodged his attempt to strike her on the ribs, "I don't want to hurt you colonel." Well maybe a little, she wasn't happy of his stunt to hurt her baby.

Instead of listening, he attempted another hit towards her pretty face. Gine grabbed his gloved fist with a raised brow, "Good bye." She gave him her friendliest smile before squeezing his hand hard enough to hear a crack.

"Haa…" He breathed slowly, holding in the pain, as she let go of his now broken hand, "YOU BITCH!" He screamed when she turned away.

Gine's form twitched when he cursed in front of the children. Biting her lip, she turned around to give him piece of her mind, but noticed both boys glaring towards him. Her eyes widened when she realized something disturbing…they knew what the profanity meant!

Racing through her thoughts she tried to recall a moment when that particular term was used, but couldn't find any. Its possible Krillin already knew about that, but Goku? The only time she actually left him truly alone was the morning she left with Fasha. This could only mean one thing.

"How dare you!" She pointed an accusing finger at Silver. He must've been there and used vile language in front of the kids!

Goku

He was mad.

How could anyone say something bad to his mother? If Colonel Silver is angry then he shouldn't have destroyed his Nimbus and attempted to steal. His mother had a right to hurt him!

Shocking, his mother actually broke Silver's hand. He expected her to possibly knock him away or ignore the man. She's usually indifferent towards rude people, always smiling as if they were having a casual conversation. Weird.

Although he can't help a twinge of happiness, that jerk deserved it and more. He was annoyed his Nimbus was destroyed, but after calling his mother that word—he can't even say it—now he felt anger. He knew Krillin felt the same he's the one who explained to him the meaning! He was curious after hearing Master Roshi grumbling it and asked his friend the meaning.

"How dare you?"

Yeah how dare he? "He can't say that to mom!" He growled.

"Right!" Both boys placed their things down, crouching down, and positioning themselves to fight the older male.

"Hm?" Colonel Silver noticed them and he seemed to momentarily forget about Gine, motioning with his uninjured hand to provoke them, "Come and get me."

Before either party could move, Silver was knocked face down.

Goku blinked a few times, having watched his mother rush over to Silver, delivering a hook kick aimed at the side of his head. In just one hit and he was down, "Mom," He giggled knowing he should have guessed.

Copying his laugh, she told them, "Well he did say come and get me." They both bit their cheek, trying to stop laughing.

"In just one hit…" Krillin breathed, staring at the woman, one…two…three…

One giggle escaped Goku, then Gine, and finally Krillin. It seems all of them could forget the others strength once in a while.

"Come on kids time to go," Gine said already placing her bag behind her and holding her hand towards Krillin, "Goku I'm sorry about Nimbus but I think you're going to have to fly on your own."

He was going to miss his flying cloud, "I don't mind."

Patting his head gently, she reminded him, "Don't fly away from where I can't see you and if you get tired tell me, Okay?"

Once agreed the trio left, unaware of Colonel Silver waking up and dragging himself towards his capsule house.

He was sure it hasn't been an hour of flying and already the temperature dropped from warm to something below freezing!

Goku's teeth chattered loudly, "I…it's so…o c…old!" He breathed into his hands trying to warm himself up. Gahh he can't take it! "Mom?"

Hearing no response he turned around to see...nothing. What? They were just right behind him! At least he thought. Maybe they were a little behind?

Flying around the frozen land, he called out, "Mom! Krillin! Where are you?!" Were they lost?! Or worse, was he lost?! "Krillin! Mom!"

Brrr. It's too cold! Descending down, he sat by a tree, wrapping his arms around his small body. Goku could feel his hair freezing in place, his eyelashes stiff, and his chattering teeth aching. Could this get any worse? He thought, before deciding to take a nap in an attempt to forget the cold.

I bet some of you are curious as to why the long wait and not announce hiatus? Well mostly because I could not, I had an accident a while back and let's just say I learned. Lol it was mostly cause of my lack of sleep and stupidity XP
