And now, a glimpse into the sequel.
Epilogue
As the Republic fleet, led by Carth Onasi, returned to Corusacnt, the Republic Soldiers, and Jedi aboard the Warships, celebrated their victories. Everyone aboard the Warships were happy, in high spirits, and glowing with confidence, in a near-perfect victory, over the Sith. Adding to the feeling, was that they had defeated the Sith, on their own home planet, of Korriban. However, the Fleet's commander, Admiral Carth Onasi, was not on any of the Warships, even his own, the Sojourn. He was on board the Ebon Hawk, with his old friends.
On board the Hawk, despite the fact that most of the Jedi High Council, Carth, Canderous Ordo, T3-M4, and HK-47, all stood on board the former smuggling vessel, not a word was spoken. The same could be said about another Starship, The Snowblind, under the ownership of Caros Morae, Nimas Borde, Raymond Garcee, and Matilin Font, and currently holding the two Walker brothers, Darius and Justin. She was also a ship in which not a single voice could be heard. The reason why, is because the crew of both ship's, were grieving over the loss of a friend. Griffin Walker. A young Jedi, who valued his friends, and family, over all else, and, along with his four best friends, had represented the bright future of the Jedi Order. However, now only his friends remained. Griffin gave his life, to save the life of his brother, and master. He died a true Jedi, a fact known in the minds of all who were there. Many of the crews, of the two ships, wondered how different things might have been, if one, or more of them had been there, or if he had never gone into the tomb, at all. And as for Griffin's Master, Revan, he could not help but feel complete guilt. He wished that he had told Griffin, to stay with him, as if he had, then he could have ensured Griffin's safety, in the extreme dangers of Naga Sadow's tomb. And now that Griffin was gone, there was one more matter to attend to. Griffin's Wife, Cariana.
The two starship's contacted each other, to discuss who should tell the newly widowed Cariana, of her husband's fate. One option, was Griffin's closest friends, Caros, Nimas, Raymond, and Matilin. They knew Cariana, from their frequent visits, to their best friend's house, and perhaps they're friendship with his wife, would make one, or more of them the ideal choice. Another option, was Griffin's blood brothers, Darius and Justin Walker. As their little brother, Griffin's marriage to Cariana, made her their sister-in-law. Maybe she should hear the bad news, from her brothers-in-law. The final option, was Revan. As he was Griffin's Master, and was also friends with Cariana, maybe it would be best, if her husband's master, told her what happened. It was decided, that Revan would tell Cariana. Revan said that because Griffin was his apprentice, that it was his responsibility to tell her of his fate. It was something that he did not look forward too, but knew that it was necessary.
After taking a detour, to Dxun, to drop of Mandalore, The Ebon Hawk dropped out of hyperspace, to Corusacnt. Once their, her pilot, Atton Rand, dropped Revan off, nearby where his apprentice's wife lived. Revan then walked into the apartment complex, standing outside his apprentice's door. Letting out a sad sigh, he then knocked on the door, taking the hood of his Ceremonial Jedi Robes, off of his head. Cariana Walker opened the door, hopping that it was her husband waiting for her. Instead, she was greeted by his master, Revan Marek. "Revan." she said, in surprise.
"Hello, Mrs. Walker. May I come in?" Revan asked.
"Certainly."
Revan walked into her apartment. "We should sit down." he said.
"What's this about?"
"Your husband. During the battle on Korriban, we made plans to search all of the tombs, for Sith stragglers, searching for some ancient weapons, to use against us. We had cleared out all of the tombs, in the Valley of the Dark Lords, with the exception of the most dangerous of the tombs, the tomb of Naga Sadow. We were about to begin the assault on the Sith Academy. However, that tomb was still unchecked. So, Griffin chose to take his brother, Justin, and a squadron of Republic Troops, and check the tomb. All of the troops were killed in the traps of the tomb, while your husband, and his brother made it to the very end of the tomb."
"What happened?" Cariana asked, concern for her husband clear as day.
"We couldn't find the leader of the Sith forces on Korriban anywhere. Suddenly, I thought that he might be in the tomb of Naga Sadow. Realizing the Griffin could be in grave danger, I hurried to the tomb. In the very last room, Griffin was confronted by the apprentice, of the leader of the Sith forces. This apprentice attempted to use his dark powers, to break Griffin mentally and emotionally, until he could be easily killed. I felt your husband's challenges, through the Force. However, the apprentice could not hold him, for long. Griffin broke through those dark powers, and then forced the apprentice to draw his lightsaber, and attempt to strike him down. He failed. I made into the room, in time to see Griffin mortally wound the apprentice. His brother had been wounded, and he asked me to carry him out. Suddenly, the apprentice pulled his robe down, to reveal a time bomb strapped to his chest. He activated it, and it had a five second timer."
A sad expression appeared on Cariana's face.
"Griffin turned, blasted his brother, and I with the Force, pushing us out of the room, and then sealing the door, with the Force. An explosion shook the foundations of the tomb. I had to hurry, and get Justin out of the tomb."
Cariana started to cry. "No." she said.
"Cariana, you're husband gave his life, to save his brother, and myself. He was a true Jedi. But now, he's gone."
Tears were flowing down Cariana's face. "No, no, NO!" visibly upset, she pushed her face into Revan's chest, and wrapped her arms around him. Revan held her back.
"I'm sorry Cariana. I failed both you, and my apprentice."
After five minutes, Cariana calmed down enough to speak. "Revan, th-the night before he left, Griffin and I made love. Now, I just found out yesterday, that I'm pregnant."
"Oh Force." Revan said. "Cariana, as a final service, to my apprentice, I promise you that I will ensure that nothing ever happens to you, or that baby."
"Thank you." She said.
Revan stayed at her home, for another two hours, helping her remain calm, and when she was calm enough, Revan returned to the Jedi Temple. He now had one more responsibility. For now however, all he could do, was think about Griffin.
Meanwhile...
On Dormund Kaas, three months after the Battle of Korriban...
In a cold, metallic lab, the Sith Lord, Darth Odysseus, stood by a table. On that table, laid down, restrained by the wrists, and ankles. He was clad in nearly complete Sith Stalker Armor, with the blades attached to the bones of his arms, deforming the skin, as well as claws on his fingers, and with Sith tattoos on his body, some concealed by the armor on his torso, and chest. The only thing missing, was the remainder of his helmet, as everything from his the top of his nose, up to his newly shaved, and bald head. His breathing systems were functional, despite the incompletion of his helmet. A droid began to put the finishing touches, on the unconscious man.
"Lord Odysseus," a medical droid said. "he is regaining consciousness."
"Fasten those restraints as tightly as possible," Odysseus said. "if you don't, then he will break free."
"Yes, my Lord." The droid responded.
Snapping back into consciousness, the man let out a dark roar, as he attempted to break free of his restraints. He was unable to.
"Don't bother trying to break free," Odysseus started. "even someone of your power, cannot break free of to great of physical restraints. I must admit, you have impressed me. I did not think that a mere Jedi child, would be able to withstand the powers of my former apprentice, much less outmatch him in lightsaber combat. For a now ex-Jedi, you are a different kind. You have so much strength, so much power. And one day, you shall take my place, as the new leader, of the True Sith Empire. The only thing is, you will never be bested. I have no doubt, that you shall prove to be as powerful, as the Emperor that your former master slew, with my help. As you begin to recover, from what you went through on Korriban, you shall grow more, and more powerful, and you shall eventually slay me, and became the new ruler, of the Sith Empire. Once that happens, you will take my place, as the commanding officer, of the Sith Military, which I will soon lead to war, against the Republic. With you at the command, when your time comes, the Sith shall crush the Republic, and then make the Jedi extinct. You shall slay all of the Jedi High Council, even your old master, Revan Marek. Once that happens, you will then continue to grow in power, until you learn the power that the old Emperor learned. You will make yourself immortal, as you rule the galaxy, for all of eternity, crushing anyone, who is foolish enough to oppose you. All of this, I have no doubt in my mind, at all, about. However, every glorious journey, begins with a single step. So now, we take the first two."
As Odysseus came closer to the savage man on the table, he violently attempted to break free of his restraints, attempting to break free, and try to kill the Sith, in before him.
"I have brought your body here, from Korriban, and worked toward ensuring that you survive your damages, from the tomb of Naga Sadow. All the while, I have used my power to fill your mind with hate, anger, and darkness. And now, you are clearly no longer a Jedi, as your skin has turned pale, hardened, and your eyes have become as yellow, as mine. I know your name, Griffin Walker. However, while you may deny it for a while, sooner, rather than later, you will learn to accept these four facts. Number one, Griffin Walker is not who you are, any longer. Number two, Griffin Walker no longer exists. Number three, Griffin Walker is dead, never to be reborn again. And Number four, from now on, you are known as Darth Terecept. Apprentice to Darth Odysseus. Sith Assassin, who will one day be feared by all of the galaxy, for all of eternity."
The newly appointed Terecept, again shook violently, desperate to break free of his restraints. This time, he made the lights flicker on and off, causing Odysseus to smile, pleased with his new apprentice's power.
"But now, we must make the second step." Turning to the Medical droids, Darth Odysseus simply stated, "Finish him." He then walked a safe distance away, and prepared for chaos.
Terecept's head was then Forced back down, by Odysseus, as the top portion of the helmet was lowered down onto his head, and the droids got to work fastening it. Once it was placed on, Terecept's body went limp, as the table was brought from its vertical position, to a horizontal one. Once the table was brought to a perfect horizontal angle, Terecept regained feeling in his body, let out another, more sinister and terrifying dark roar, as he once again attempted to break free of the restraints. He nearly succeeded, his rage making the Force cause parts to come off of the walls, and the floor of the lab, and fall to the floor. A mini tremor was taking place in the lab. The three medical droids were not spared. One was torn apart, piece by piece. Another was crumbled up, into a three and a half foot tall, ball of metal. The final was torn in half, and then the halves were torn into more halves. Terecept nearly broke free of his restraints, but was stopped by Odysseus, who was using the Force to ensure that he wouldn't.
Two hours later...
Parts littered the floor of the lab. Much of the metal, on the walls, and on the ground, had lacerations on them, as well as some carbon scoring. The lab table was still in its horizontal position. The newly appointed Darth Terecept, was still on the table, and was still restrained. However, he was not trying to break free. He wasn't even using the Force. He still had not spoken a word. He was simply looking down at the floor, through the helmet of his Sith Stalker Armor. The only sound in the room, was the quiet breathing of the Sith's breathing system. The silence was suddenly broken, by the voice of Darth Odysseus. "Now, Lord Terecept, do you understand?" Odysseus asked.
"Yes." Terecept finally spoke.
"Good." Odysseus responded, as he used the Force, to release his new apprentice from the table.
Terecept lightly fell to his feet. He then walked up to his new Master, bowed down on his left knee, pressed his right fist into the ground, and spoke. "What is thy will, my Master?"
Hearing Terecept call him this, Odysseus smile, and started to laugh, a cruel, evil, and sadistic laugh, that could be heard beyond the walls of the lab.
All the while, as Odysseus laughed, underneath the helmet of his new apprentice, Darth Terecept let a tear slide down his right cheek. Odysseus would never have known. Nor would he have been able to sense a vision, that lay underneath the dark thoughts of his new apprentice. The vision was of something happening, on Corusacnt, right now. The vision was of a woman, three months into her pregnancy, crying, and saying, "Griffin, I wish you were here."
End
That's it. That's the story. I want to thank all of you guys, for the support that you've given me, throughout this whole thing. It means a lot to me. As I've said, there will be a sequel to this story. I will write one, or two other stories, in between now, and the beginning of the sequel. I don't know yet, as to when I'll start writing the sequel. However, I promise you all, that before the end of this year, you will see a summary, that says in it "sequel to 'The Return of a Legend'" in it.
