Running in Circles A Klance Story Chapter 21

Matt rubbed his eyes and looked around. He didn't know where he was or what had happened. Last thing he could remember was that he kissed Shiro, then there was

a flash of light. He stood up and looked around him. This place didn't look anything like the Galra ship he was on before. In fact, it didn't look like much of

anything. Everything around him looked the same, he was surrounded by space, with bursts of colors like blue and purple, and shiny with the twinkling stars. He reached

up to his face, he felt no helmet or sort of protection, so how was he alive in space. He looked down. There was no visible ground but he was standing on a solid

surface. Matt furrowed his eyebrows. He took a step forward but it didn't appear to move him in any way. He reached his arm out. He didn't feel anything unusual.

"Matt!" He spun around at the voice. He didn't see anyone or anything.

"Matt!" He looked around desperately but he didn't see anything.

"Matt, Help!" He turned to face the voice and ran forward. He ran and ran but still didn't appear to have moved at all. The voice still called out to him, and

he realized who it was, Pidge. His sister was calling for him, and he didn't know how to get to her. He stopped running as he realized it was pointless.

"Matt!"

"I'm here! Where are you?" Matt looked up and around him. When he turned back around Pidge was standing there, but she wasn't looking at him. She was sitting

on the ground with her hands cuffed behind her back. She hung her head in defeat. Matt tried to reach for her, but his hand hit a hard surface. It felt much like what

he was standing on. He pounded on the surface and looked through helplessly at his sister. Another figure entered the room and loomed over Pidge. He was tall but

masked and cloaked, so Matt couldn't see who it was. He watched them closely. The man reached his arm out and a shock of electricity shot out and hit Pidge.

"No!" He screamed, but could do nothing to stop it. More beams of electricity hit Pidge, until her eyes fell closed and she layed down on the ground. Matt felt

the tears running down his face and he collapsed onto the ground and looked down at the space on the other side of the invisible floor. When he looked back up, the

man and Pidge were gone, replaced once again only by empty space. This caused him to stand back up with confusion. He just watched his sister die, but now she was gone

quite physically. Matt was feeling hurt, confused, and curious all at the same time. He walked around the empty space some more, listening, trying to trigger another

image so that he could understand what was happening. He didn't hear anything for a while so he decided to speak again,

"Hello? Anyone here?" He heard his voice echo into the open space. No response.

"Hello?" He spoke louder this time.

"Matt?" Shiro's figure appeared behind him, and Matt turned around coming face to face with him. Matt sucked in his breath. The Shiro in front of him looked

so real, like he could just reach out and touch Shiro's face, but he knew he couldn't. That if he tried he would just be blocked again. But something seemed different

with Shiro vs with Pidge. His presence seemed more.. real? He could feel Shiro's breath on his face. The two of them stood for several minutes, neither moving. Matt

let his curiosity get the best of him. He reached his arm out, and was surprised to see Shiro's arm doing the same. There was barely any space between their hands.

Matt reached that extra bit farther and was surprised to feel not the cool surface he felt earlier, but Shiro's hand, warm and pressed against his. He let their

fingers entwine themselves, and Matt stared at their hands, he was shocked for sure and he didn't know what to do. Any action he did seemed to be mirrored by Shiro.

Matt stepped closer, and so did Shiro, their hands never moving from their position. Matt took one more step farther, which connected them. Matt was now pressed

against Shiro's chest, looking at his face. He moved their faces closer and closed his eyes. Even with his eyes closed he could feel Shiro's face move closer to his,

until they met in the middle. Matt felt Shiro's lips touch his own, and a spark ignited between the two, causing another flash of white light. He was shocked when

he opened his eyes to see he was no longer in what he somehow now knew, was the Astral Plane.
