A few days later and my phone was still ringing off the hook as both Edward and Alice continued to call constantly you would have thought they would have gotten the message by now that I didn't wish to speak to them but ever persistent they continued, I dreaded going to school today as I knew in my gut they would be back today and that school is mutual territory meaning they can approach me I looked in my closet and picked out a pair of purple skinny jeans and a black veil brides band tee I grabbed my new black leather jacket and a pair of heeled tan ankle boots I decided to put some make up on so I lined my eyes with kohl liner and I added a clear lip gloss it worked with the new Bella and I for one was more than glad that I wasn't still the push over I was when I was with Edward.
I walked downstairs and greeted Charlie and I wasn't surprised to see Paul, Embry, Angela and Jacob walk through my front door, I had expected the boys to be making a statement today towards the Cullen's I grabbed my school bag and said goodbye to Charlie then we all went and got in Paul's truck we headed to the diner quickly on the way to school to get me and Angela a cup of coffee before school started; when we pulled up at school we noticed Edward's Volvo instantly and the tension was palpable you could feel it radiating from the guys, I squeezed Paul's hand and he began to relax "relax guys we got this ok? Yes, it is mutual territory but Jake and Embry you are going to be at school too, so you must work on keeping yourselves calm and in control no matter what they say or do, do you understand me? I know I'm not an alpha female in your pack but you guys are my family and I'll be damned if I let them make you expose yourselves". I said "your right bells those leeches don't get to just come back and mess up our lives again, we have the control now they don't rule us we rule ourselves" Jacob replied.
We got out of the car and Paul swooped in and pulled me into a fiery kiss I knew it was his way of staking his claim so I couldn't get mad sure I'm no possession but I am his just as he is mine, we said goodbye to Paul who assured us he would be back at the end of the day to pick us up then we headed to English for me and Ang and biology for Jake and Em; I noticed my usual seat in English Edward had decided to sit there in Angela's spot so we moved to the front of class instead of the back and from the corner of our eyes we saw him twitch and visibly grimace at the fact he hadn't gotten his own way.
The day continued like this up until lunch where Alice had decided she's had enough and grabbed my arm upon me entering the cafeteria and pulled me unwillingly towards her and Edward's table, "What the hell are you doing Alice?" I spat "What do you mean Bella you always sit with us Edward even got you some lunch see?" Alice said confused "Alice are you delusional I haven't sat with you since you abandoned me and that's my lunch are you serious? Do I look like a bloody rabbit? Salad I'm not fat and I would much rather have a burger and sit with my real friends" I snapped "Bella love you never had a problem with salad before and a burger is fowl its full of unhealthy things, and we didn't abandon you we left to keep you safe you know your safety id everything to me Bella" Edward replied with smouldering eyes obviously trying to charm me again but it sure wasn't working anymore "Yeah ok well I'm off now enjoy your rabbit food I'm going to go join Jacob who has saved me a seat and grabbed me a burger and fries which Is real food goodbye Edward goodbye Alice" I said and then I stood up and walked over to my usual table and sat down and took a healthy bite out of my burger while looking at them to prove my point.
The guys burst out laughing at that and Embry patted me on the back while Angela just laughed along and nudged me causing me to laugh once I had swallowed the bite of burger, "well done Bella you told them, I bet they weren't expecting you to be like that with them but I'm glad you showed them who you really are when you're not under their influence" Angela said with derision "Well Ang if my outfit wasn't an indication that I have changed I'm sure standing up for myself drove that fact home" I replied and then we heard a gasp "Edward did you realize what she's wearing I hadn't even noticed but her outfit is hideous and rebellious I will definitely have to take her shopping to buy her new clothes that we are approve of that are suitable for Bella that doesn't tarnish her or the Cullen name". Alice said with scorn "I hadn't noticed Alice but I have now I bet it's the mutts who are making her dress that way to get back at us, you know my Bella wouldn't dress like that she's not confident enough you know she needed us to tell her what to wear" Edward responded with equal scorn as Alice.
I chose to ignore them but the guys were shaking so me and Angela got them to go for a walk with us outside so they could calm down and I knew that as soon as Jake and Em saw Paul he would know everything they had said, I tried not to think about it right now when the bell went we headed to our last class gym! Oh the joys ah just kidding it's not so bad now I'm immortal I have better hand eye co-ordination gym went fast I thought it would drag but it seemed over quickly so soon I was running towards Paul he caught me as soon as I jumped into his arms and his lips were on mine instantly and we were reunited again and I know that sound all dramatic but with the drama from Alice and Edward the need for Paul and the comfort of just being with him was almost too much and now I was in his arms I finally felt my body loose the tension of the day knowing that my wolf was there to be my shield from the ugliness of the world and be my comfort and my rock, it made my heart race when we pulled back for air the blinding smile he gave me made my day better.
We all climbed into the truck and Paul was driving out of school in minutes and that's when the guys decided to inform Paul of the conversation what had transpired between Edward and Alice and the stunt they pulled before that, you could feel Paul's anger and I knew I had to do something before he exploded in the car which was already shaking badly "Pull over now Paul!" I said authority ringing clearly through my voice which he heard and he pulled over at a safe place and then next thing anyone knew was that I was out of the truck and I walked round to Paul's door and yanked it open and turned the engine off then coaxed him out of the truck and jumped him wrapping my body around his shaking body, I clung on tightly to him until the shaking subsided and he was just clutching me close and breathing in my scent.
We got back into the truck and continued on our way to La Push we had to tell the rest of the pack what had happened I knew they wouldn't be happy they had warned the Cullen's we were off limits and here Alice and Edward were ignoring that only days later, we pulled up at Jacob's house and the pack were called to come and then I let the boys tell the story as I just sat in Paul's lap and rested against him soaking up his warmth as I realised more and more that they weren't who I thought they were and they probably never were; I had believed the lie that they put forth to fool all humans so that Edward could make me into his human pet I know not all the Cullen's thought of me as a pet but Alice and Edward definitely did and I knew one thing they would do anything to get me back under their control to have their human pet who they could pick up and drop anytime they wanted.
An hour later we were driving back to Forks we dropped Angela off at home then headed to my house so I could make dinner for Charlie forty-five minutes later and Charlie was home so we sat down for dinner then I did the dishes while Paul and Charlie went and watched t.v once I had cleaned up everything I headed upstairs to go and pack my bag for the night at Paul's so I grabbed my shorts pj's because Paul's a furnace and then I grabbed some underwear and a clean outfit for tomorrow and my toiletries , once I had packed it all I headed down stairs and told Paul I was ready to go I gave Charlie a hug and said night and then we left.
We pulled up at Paul's house he unlocked the door and we headed inside he showed me around the house so I knew where everything was then I went and checked his fridge and found it basically empty "Hey Paul is there a shop still open around here your fridge needs stocking?" I asked "Sorry baby I meant to stock that earlier I think Quil's mom's store is still open for another hour or so" he replied so we headed out quickly to make it there in time and get some food and other stuff for his house, we got everything we needed to get then we unpacked it all and with the time we took turns in the shower and then we both climbed into bed and had cuddles and kisses for a while then about twenty minutes later we were both so tired we were starting to fall asleep so we said our goodnights and we said our I love you's and then we fell asleep.
