I woke up tied to a pillar in what looked like the Great Hall. But it was on fire. "Hiccup." I looked up to see me…
Gods I'm losing my mind.
"What do you want?"
"Nothing." He sat down in front of me and I sighed.
"Then will you go away?"
"No." Groaning I tried to get out of the ropes. "You don't want to be here alone do you?"
"I just asked you to go, so yes I kind of want to." I said snarling. Then he patted my head and I pulled away. "Don't touch me!" He then raised his hand out and looked away. "I'm not something you can train kid."
"Oh, I know, but you need a friend."
"You're in my head."
"Yes but that's the kind of friend you need right now before we both die in the fire." His hand got closer to my face and backed away growling. "You need to be your own friend right now." I huffed then his hand touched my head and I didn't do anything. I'm going to die anyway… might as well accept my fate…
"HICCUP!"
"WHERE IS HE?!"
"THERE! STOICK RIGHT THERE!"
"Well maybe it's not the end…" Said the younger me. He pulled away from me and just sat there watching. Then the roof collapsed close to me and I screamed. The fire was licking my face. "Hiccup calm down." He then hugged me. He was cold and it felt nice against my burnt cheek. I placed my head against his shoulder and sighed.
"I'm crazy."
"Well you're not sane." I looked up to see Dagur, Stoick, and Gobber. The younger me stood up and smiled. Then they all started to chip at the ropes with their swords. Coughing I gasped for breath… I must have been swallowing smoke since I got in here. Then the ropes fell and Dagur wrapped one of my arms over his shoulder and lifted me up. I tried to take a step forward but someone had taken my prosthetic. "Lean on me." Said Dagur and I did. Then someone grabbed my other arm and I looked over to see Stoick.
Slowly we made our way out of the building and down the steps. At the bottom, they set me down and I coughed as my lungs burned. Then a cup was pushed into my hands and I saw water. I drank it all in a few minutes and soon was sitting there shaking. "You're as crazy as that dragon of yours." Said Snotlout grabbing my hand and shaking it. "That was something incredible to see…how you fought him like that."
"What?"
"You were smiling like a mad man!"
"And you sent him flying with that kick!"
"He was defeated by a child!"
"You took it like a champ!"
"Good job Loki." I looked over and saw Astrid. I smiled shakily then sighed. I was so tired.
A black scaly nose poked me in the chest and I hissed. Looking up I saw a battle weary Night Fury. I smiled and pet him.
"He's the one who distracted most of the Outcasts while us Berserkers snuck up on them." Said Dagur pointed at himself proudly.
"And why were you here?" I asked.
"Oh…uh… Dad died…" Said Dagur rubbing the back of his neck.
"Oh…um…. I'm sorry?" I wasn't really sure of how I should approach it.
"Nah!" Said Dagur smiling. "It doesn't really matter. I'm chief now!" he puffed up his chest and I rolled my eyes.
"Keep your pride in check Chief. You'll bite off more than you can chew with that attitude."
"I heard you did."
"What are you talking about?"
"I heard you went dragon crazy on him. Oh! Nice scar!" He poked my face and I slapped his hand away. I glared at him then sighed.
"Alvin isn't my father."
"WHAT! NO WAY!" Said Dagur sarcastically.
"You knew?"
"It was obvious… If you didn't know I had been here before. We used to go to that cove and you showed off you training skills."
"But you never thought to tell me?"
"I was told not to. I guess Alvin and my father had this deal where if we told you then we'd be at war…" He shrugged and I groaned Toothless wrapped himself around me and I pulled myself onto the saddle. Moaning in pain I sat on the saddle and Toothless stood up. Then I pressed my face to the back of Toothless's neck and I passed out.
