An: Wow it's been so long. I'm sorry guy, truly I am. I have no intentions of abandoning this story its just that school started up and I had SIX CLASSES! So that took almost all of my time. But it's out for Christmas so hopefully I'll get to update a little more until next semester!

Thank you to everyone who reviewed since I last updated. I love seeing and reading them. I made this one a little longer.

I don't own anything in this chapter.

Chapter 21

After the wedding Walt and I went into the room where the reception was. The staff had cleared out a nice section of the floor for dancing surrounded by tables for the guest. In the back of the room was a long table for Walt and I to sit along with a few groomsmen and bridesmaids. We took our seats and waited for the reception to begin. Jazz and a few of the others stood by the entrance of the room to make sure that the guest knew where they were sitting. That normally wouldn't have been that big of a deal with me if we hadn't have had non-magical guest.

Shortly after everyone was seated dad walked up to the little stage and cleared his throat. "Hello, everyone," he said. I glanced over to Gran and Gramps to see what they were doing. It looked like they were admiring the center piece at their table. So long as they weren't causing a disturbance I suppose that was alright. "Thank you for coming today to celebrate with us on this fantastic day. It's always nice to see my family grow, and Walt is a nice addition. So is Anubis, although I've counted him as a part of the family for a few centuries now." I chucked as the few non-magical in attendance looked confused. A few of the magicians looked upset but they didn't do anything, so I took that as a good sign. "Due to a few unforeseen circumstances I wasn't able to be there when Sadie was growing up, but when I was able to be with her she made my life, heck even my afterlife, a whole lot better. I hope that you two make the best of your lives. Oh, and Walt, you mess with her, you'll have to deal with me."

Walt actually looked nervous as dad laughed while he walked off stage so Carter could take his place.

"Well, thanks dad, how am I supposed to follow that? Anyway Walt, and Anubis you've been a great help these past few years, and even better friends. Here's to hoping that you're both great family members. Sadie really can pick them, can't she folks? Sadie, you've been a great sister and a wonderful world-saving partner! Zia and I wish you the best of luck in your marriage!"

One last person took the stage. She looked a lot like Walt and his mom only with long red hair. "Now, I know that everyone is excited to start eating, so I won't take long. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Susan, Walt's aunt. Sadly I'm the closest relative able to attend since Amanda is, well, Amanda…" The kids from Brooklyn House started to laugh, not bothering to try and hide it. "Walt's always been a nice boy, and I'm proud to have him as a nephew. I'm even prouder to have a new niece, Sadie Stone. It's going to be tough, it always is, but you two can work it out. I know that you've done harder things but marriage is a challenge and you constantly have to work at it. I know that I've just recently met you, Sadie, but I love you. I love you both. Best wishes!" She raised her glass, signaling to everyone that the toast was over and they were now free to get their food.

Everyone raised their glasses to us and drank before they stood up. The food was set up sortta like a buffet; honestly we just didn't want to deal with who ordered what.

Walt and I waited for our guest to get food first so we talked.

"Why couldn't have your mom have been like that?"

"Amanda and Susan are half-sisters."

"Really? Why?"

"Mom's father ran out on them when she was little. She was about seven or so. Grandma was young so she filed for divorce and remarried about two years later. That's when she had Susan. Auntie had always had a whole family growing up. Mom didn't so I guess that it scared her. Losing Dad when he was young probably didn't help. Then to have me who was showing the same signs that Dad did… Stress gets to a person."

"I feel like a horrible person for kicking her out."

Walt smiled and took my hand. "You didn't kick her out, Sadie, I did. Her past doesn't give her an excuse to hit my wife. I'm not the type of man who stands for that."

"No, you're not. You're my type of man."

A few minutes later the line died down and we were able to fill our plates with wonderfully delicious foods. Of course we did all of the traditional wedding things that are "modern courtship rituals." I enjoyed throwing cake at Anubis's face, who returned the favor. The most interesting of which was when Walt and Anubis removed the garter. They sure did take their time down there…. People noticed. I don't know what's more embarrassing, the fact that he took his time or the fact that when he threw it into the crowd Carter was the man who caught it…. Shelby caught the bouquet, something that she couldn't shut up about afterwards. But my favorite tradition was the dancing. Walt and I had actually taken dancing lessons after we saved the world. Thank goodness we had too, otherwise our first dance would have just been us swaying like a bunch of teenagers at prom during a slow song. What did I pick, you ask? Why, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" by Elton John, it reminded me of The Lion King, one of my favorite animated movies and I loved every second of it.

I did rather like dancing with Dad though. We didn't pick anything sappy for that dance, yuck, instead we went with "Sweet Child 'O Mine" from Guns and Roses, dad seemed to enjoy the song. Unfortunately dad couldn't dance very well so Walt and Susan literally dance circles around us. The Magicians found it amusing. Especially Amos.

Soon the time came to interact with the guest and socialize. Liz and Nathanial came up to us. "Liz! You made it! How nice to see you again. How's little Kayla?"

"She's good. Right now she's at her grandmothers. Speaking of Kayla, I just learned something that I didn't know about my family. Can you help us if we need you?"

Nathanial looked at his feet. So he had told her what he was.

I looked at him square in the face when he looked up. "Is she like me?"

"You mean blood of the Pharaohs? Yes, I only became a Diviner because it was my calling and the house hated the path of the gods. There's still a lot of resentment towards our kind. I wouldn't feel safe with her in the care of anyone else, despite your future. I can't teach her what she needs to know."

I looked at Liz and took her hands in mine. "Liz, you can send her to me whenever she starts showing signs of magic. Don't hesitate, okay? It'll be my honor and she'll be safe. Heck, I've raised over half of my current initates. Nathanial will know how to contact us. Please don't be upset, okay? Everything will be fine.

"Thank you."

The other guest weren't nearly as interesting. Gran and Gramps told me how proud they were and how beautiful the ceremony was. Emma had found a boyfriend, but he supposedly wasn't able to get off work to come.

Finally the time came for us to leave. Anubis opened a portal back to Brooklyn House so we wouldn't get all sandy traveling through normal portals. It upsets me that I didn't get to see Gran and Gramp's face when we disappeared into thin air.

"Thank goodness that's over. Now we can really enjoy each other's company." Anubis wiggled his eyebrows.

After a bit of fun between the covers we packed for our honey moon. I had booked a hotel for a week in Cardiff. I wanted to be in England but not so close to where Gran and Gramps were.

An hour or two later we were in more comfortable clothes and opened another portal. Since we didn't know of any Egyptian monuments near Cardiff we opened one at Cleopatra's Needle then called a cab.

We gave the driver the address to our hotel and he smiled. If that wasn't a sign of an expensive trip I don't know what is.

Sometime later we checked into our hotel, the honeymoon sweet.

I had never enjoyed a night so much.

The next day we spent in Cardiff Bay mostly at the Red Dragon Centre and the Ice Ring. It was starting to get dark when we decided to get some fish and chips. In the middle of the plaza we passed a blue police call box. A woman sprinted out and she was shortly followed by a man wearing a bow tie. "Hello," he said as he winked at us then followed his companion.

"Who was that?" Walt asked.

"No idea. I wonder what they were doing inside there. What is a police call box anyways?"

"I don't know. I'm not sure I really want to either. We have enough trouble in our lives anyways."

"I suppose you're right." I turned away from the strange sight. "Let's go get our food."

How many of you got that reference at the end there? Don't worry if you don't know, this isn't going to become a crossover with Doctor Who, it was just a little cameo.
