Chapter 21-I Wanna Die Happy
Laura's POV: We carefully went back down the tree. Then we went to his car. He opened it and i was about to get in until he locked it again. He had a skateboard in his hand.
Laura: What are you doing?
Ross: We're not leaving yet.
Laura: Why?
Ross: Cause you're gonna learn to skate.
Laura: WHAT?!
Ross: Yup, it says so on your list.
Laura: Why did i even write that?
Ross: I don't know but at least i can teach you.
Laura: Ugh, Alright. Lets go.
Laura's POV: We walk to the sidewalk. Ross puts the skateboard on the ground. I look at it confused.
Ross: Are you gonna get on or what?
Laura: I can't. Ill fall.
Ross: No you won't, Ill hold you.
Laura's POV: He takes my hand. I carefully and slowly step on the board. Ok, i got this. I think...
Ross: Ok, i will move you. Move left to go left and right to go right.
Laura: Wait! What!?
Laura's POV: Before he answered, he pushed me. I shut my eyes. I opened them a few seconds later to find myself still moving and still on the skateboard. Ok good.
Ross: You're doing great. Now lets see you go by yourself.
Laura: Ross? NO! I can't-
Laura's POV: Once again he didn't answer. He pushed me again but this time, he let go. I rolled down the sidewalk. I tried to keep my balance. I was doing it! But then a rock stood on the sidewalk. Oh no. The wheels hit it and stopped. I went flying. I hit the hard concrete. Ouch! I groaned.
Laura: Oww...
Ross: Laura?!
Laura's POV: He came running to me. He helped me up.
Ross: Im sooooo sorry! I should have never done that!
Laura: Im fine.
Ross: No, you're bleeding.
Laura's POV: I felt a pain in my forehead, knees, and elbows. I touched it and winched. Oh, i guess i am bleeding.
Ross: Lets get you back to the hospital.
Laura's POV: I got in his car. It was a total silence. We got to my hospital room. I sat on my bed and Ross put on some bandages.
Ross: Im so sorry i keep hurting you.
Laura: What?
Ross: You almost drowned because of me. And now i made you bleed. I feel terrible. Maybe we shouldn't do this anymore.
Laura: Wait. What?
Ross: I keep putting you in danger. I don't want to finish this list anymore. Im sorry.
Laura: I can't believe it! You're quitting on me! Let me tell you this! I have been in this hospital my entire life! I never experience anything! I never felt fear, love, nature, fun, or bleeding! And Im happy to be experiencing those things! I want to live for once! Because in a few months I will die! I don't want to die without knowing how to feel things! I want to experience new things! So i can die happy! I WANNA DIE HAPPY ROSS!
Laura's POV: Ross looked shocked and had tears in his eyes that were falling as more built up. I relaxed myself. Then threw the covers over me and started crying and i muttered something.
Laura: Let me be happy for once.
Ross: What?
Laura: Nothing just leave!
Laura's POV: There was silence. Then i heard a sigh. After the sigh. I heard to door close. Oh gosh. Now i won't be able to finish this list...
