The ride back to the hospital was silent. Felicks shifted uncomfortably in his seat and snuck a glance at the occupants of the car. Gilbert was in the passenger seat, re-bandaging his wound. The driver (someone Felicks didn't know) had their eyes on the road, their face blank. Lad was leaning against Berwald who was staring out the window, eyes reflecting the lights that flashed by.
"How far away are we?" Felicks asked eventually, the silence too much for him to handle. He wanted to see Toris. He wanted to see his friends. He wanted to hug Mr Pony and never let him go. He wanted a lot of things, simple requests really and he wasn't getting them.
"Five minutes tops," Gilbert answered when no when else did, frowning as a red light kept them in their place again. "Unless the traffic continues on like this." They were moving at a snail's pace, crawling forward bit by bit. It was like the moment they needed to be somewhere urgently, everything tried to stop this from happening.
"I know a shortcut," The driver offered and Gilbert nodded. The driver swung the car round and turned down a small side street, winding their way through the suburbs of the city. Felicks began to tap, very annoyed that they still weren't there. He was sick of all this drama. He just wanted to go home to the nice house Toris owned and fall asleep between the sheets with the man beside him and Mr Pony in the middle.
"We'll need a recount of what happened from you Felicks." Gilbert said suddenly as they turned out onto the main road, a couple of hundred metres down from the hospital. "But..." He turned around to look at Felicks, smiling kindly. "You can see Toris first. And maybe even sleep even though it's basically morning."
"It might not be a very good recount." Felicks said uncertainly, hugging himself.
"That's ok," Gilbert didn't seem to care. "We just need enough to put Fretka behind bars."
They pulled up outside the hospital and Felicks scrambled to get out, hitting the ground which jolted all his injuries and scurrying inside despite Gilbert and Berwald calling for him to slow down. He needed Toris.
"Goodness me, are you part of the large party in the dining hall?" A nurse asked, staring at Felicks in shock. He stared back at her, not really sure what she meant.
"Yes," Gilbert puffed, running in behind him with Berwald, Lad and the driver right behind him. "We are part of that party." By now the blood from his injury was soaking through the bandages and the nurse sighed, pointing down the corridor.
"Hurry along, there are doctors and nurses in there who can treat your wound." She said sternly. "No blood in here, you'll scare other patients."
Gilbert sighed but hurried the group along. Felicks wasn't complaining, surely Toris would be in the room with everyone else. As they walked –rather quickly because of Gilbert- he began to hear voices, children laughing and some crying coming from up ahead.
"Quiet," A weary voice demanded, loud despite the tiredness present there.
And everything around Felicks faded away. The pain his injuries were causing him? Not a problem. The people walking with him? What people? The fact that he didn't know where he was going? Well it shouldn't be too hard to find.
So he ran, limping along as he followed the voices. If the others shouted, he didn't hear. Everything came down to one person right now and he wasn't waiting about for them. They were too slow.
Toris
The name repeated itself over and over in his head. He was so close, so close tpo getting what he wanted, what he needed, what he craved.
Toris
Felicks skidded round the corner, nearly falling because of his bag leg. There, up ahead, was the dining hall. He knew this because of the sign on the door. 'Dining Hall.' He was here, he was going to see Toris.
Suddenly, Felicks was scared. Toris had left him before and Felicks was convinced it was because Fretka had made him. But this conviction was slipping away. Suppose Toris...didn't want him. Suppose all of this was a lie. Maybe...just maybe he would have to go back to the orphanage and share a bunk bed with horrible Samantha.
"Felicks, aren't you going in?" Gilbert asked when they caught up to Felicks. "I'm sure Toris wants to see you. He went crazy when I wouldn't let him come on the rescue mission. He was so worried about you."
"Really?" Felicks whispered. Gilbert's words were all he needed. He was going in. He had to be brave. He was going to see Toris.
With a dramatic flair, Felicks pushed open the doors and marched in. He knew his hair looked terrible, he knew his hospital gown was dirty and ripped, he knew all eyes were on him and he didn't care.
There was the man, standing there with his mouth open, the kid next to him suddenly finding himself being ignored.
Toris surged forwards with a cry and Felicks ran to meet him. They meet in an embrace, one that carried on for what felt like ages and both were crying when they finally fell apart, their hands staying together though.
"I'm sorry Felicks," Toris whispered. "So, so sorry. I'll never let you go again, I promise." He pulled Felicks back into a hug again and Felicks let the tears fall. He was tired and hurt and scared and sick but right now everything just felt so right.
Around them, everyone began to clap.
Criminal Doctor Gets Life
Fretka Łukasiewicz, esteemed doctor and longstanding member of the community has been given a life sentence after a yearlong court case. The once admired man came clean with his dark past after being caught having kidnapped his son and two hospital patrons.
The list of crimes was long and extensive, the broken laws ranging from fraud to murder. A three year old case was opened involving the disappearance of Mr Łukasiewicz's wife Claudia. A series of investigations led to the discovery of the woman's body buried under her old home.
Deputy Police Chief Gilbert...
Fretka's Head Held High
Despite the life sentence over his head and the perfect image torn to shreds, Fretka remained stoic and even calk when he was escorted out of court and into a waiting police car.
Upon leaving court, a witness to one of Fretka's many crimes declared that Fretka 'didn't even seem sorry. He laughed at us.'

Shattered Lives Repaired, the Tragic Story of Fretka's Son, First Seen Here!
When Felicks Łukasiewicz is seen on the streets these days, you would not guess the teen went through such hardships during his early years including living in an orphanage, being kidnapped and then being involved in a yearlong case against his tormentor, Dr Fretka Łukasiewicz, a once honoured member of our community and Felicks's father who was sentence to life for his many crimes.
Felicks was not seen by public eye after the case for nearly six months and despite repairing, his whereabouts for those six months are still unknown. People claimed he was recovering in a special hospital or that he'd gone to his home country, Poland to try and escape his traumatic experiences.
But apparently all that has been put behind Felicks as he builds a new life for himself with his adopted father Toris...

A Happy Ending After All
10 Years Later
Toris sighed as he set out bowls of chips and platters of veggie straws and dip around the room. He returned to the kitchen for some glasses and began to stack them on the main food table.
"Felick's you said you'd help!" He called up the stairs, grumbling as he nearly knocked a glass over. "What are you doing up there?"
"I'm nearly ready so like, be patient." A sassy voice called back down before footsteps were heard, clunking down the stairs. "Ta da," The once sass filled voice was suddenly shy.
Toris spun around and nearly collapsed into a chair.
Standing in front of him was a whole new Felicks. The teen's hair reached past his ears but stopped before his shoulders and been styled tastefully with the ends kinking up. A pretty bow held one side of his fringe back. He was wearing a sparkly pink top with sleeves that stopped just before the elbow paired with a green skirt that brushed his knees. Silver kitten heels completed the look along with lightly applied makeup and sparkly bangles.
"Oh Felicks," Toris said, his voice tight. "You look beautiful." A beam spread on Felicks's face when he said this.
"Yay, I'm so glad you love it!" The Polish boy cheered. "Has anyone arrived yet?"
Toris opened his mouth to say no but before he could, there was a knock at the door. Felicks spun to go answer in but then he froze.
""Can you do it?" He asked nervously. Toris nodded.
"As long as you finish up in here." He instructed. Felicks gave a mock salute and vanished into the kitchen whilst Toris hurried to open the door, forgetting to pull his hair from its ponytail.
Standing in the doorway when he opened it was Roderich, Vash, Lilli and Elias. Roderich and Vash were in matching suits, Vash leaning on a fancy black walking stick/cane. Lilli was seventeen now and looked stunning in a crimson frock, her hair curled. Elias was twelve, his hair pulled into long purple plaits, a sketch book tucked under his arm.
"Come in, come in," Toris stepped back to let the family through, complimenting each of them as they did so. "Felicks is just finishing with the setting up."
"Lilli!" Felicks squealed when they entered the room. They hurried to embrace, chattering away and gushing over each other's outfits. Elias scurried to a corner and curled up, beginning to draw.
There was another knock on the door and soon Elizabeta had danced into the room, waving her gift in the air and scooping Felicks up in a bone breaking hug.
Then there was another knock and another and another.
Soon the party was in full swing.
Arthur showed up with five kids in tow. Alfred, Matthew, Keith, Benjamin and a little girl called Anna who had curly blonde hair and weird eyebrows like the Brit himself. They'd all grown and had soon persuaded the others to play an epic game of hide and seek.
Yao arrived with Kiku, Mei, Im Yong Soo and Leon, the latter carrying a load of fireworks whilst Yao sighed, a slight smile on his face as he put them away for later and sent the kids off to join the others.
Lukas showed up with Emil, their adoptive father Matthias instantly raising the noise level of the room the moment he entered. Lukas had persuaded him not to bring his replica of a Viking battle axe luckily.
Berwald came too with Lad and Tino, the small Finish boy having won the stoic Swede's heart. Lad went to sit with Elias, a slight smile on his face as he watched the younger boy draw. Tino scurried off to find Lukas.
Gilbert rocked up with Ludwig, his younger brother and Lugwig's adopted son Feliciano, one of the Italian twins. Gilbert soon had a crowd of eager kids hanging on to every word that left his mouth. Antonio, Lugwig's best friend had Romano, the other twin clinging to his leg and refusing to let go, spitting and swearing at anyone who got close.
Even Natalia was there with 'big brother Ivan' and their adoptive mother.
All in all it was an amazing night and Felicks, the birthday boy was the life of the party. He'd put the first five years off his life behind him and had looked to the future, making an image for himself and ensuring that he stayed in touch with all his friends. He'd been to loads of therapy along with a lot of the other orphanage kids and had learned to control the nightmares and the paranoia.
He'd never gone to see Fretka. He couldn't bring himself to look the man in the eyes. He was quite content to ignore the man's very existence.
Felicks looked across the room at one point of the evening and caught Toris's eye. The teen winked and opened his mouth.
"Thanks...Dad."
