"You've met Odin?" Ve asked, surprised at Andrea. She shrugged, trying not to bring up the awful memories. Ve stared at the Doctor, distressed. "You let her meet Odin?"
"I didn't let her do anything. She wanted to meet him!" the Doctor stressed, irritated that Ve thought that he was responsible for Andrea.
"She is a threat to Asgard in his eyes!" Ve shouted, upset. Andrea rolled her eyes.
"That would have been nice to know before I went to see him!" she hissed, wanting to blame him for everything. Ve ignored her, focusing on the Doctor.
"How was I supposed to know that?! Odin should have written that in the note he left!" the Doctor yelled back as Ve scoffed at him.
"Odin would not have put that in the note. Who would take in a dangerous child?" Ve asked, thinking that the Doctor was stupid. The time lord gave up as Andrea stared at her father.
"Who would take in a dangerous child? Who would take in a dangerous child?!" Andrea repeated, gradually getting louder and angrier. Ve turned to her, surprised again. "Then why did you send me off? If you thought I was going to die anyway? Why didn't you write the freaking note, huh? Could have saved all of us a lot of trouble!"
"I was busy trying to fend of Kovarian's army!" Ve shouted back. Andrea covered her face in her hands. "What do you want from me? What did you expect when you came?"
"I expected to find an old man, hiding out of guilt from what he has done to his daughter. Even if it was in my best interest, you don't seem that you were overly upset that I was gone," Andrea pointed out, calming down a little.
"I did grieve, but I didn't let it rule my life. If I did that, I would be a shriveled man filled with sadness and regret. I figured that you were in a better place and left it that," Ve explained as Andrea shook her head.
"You're worse than Odin," she whispered, shocked and offended. Tony grabbed her shoulder, comforting her. Ve narrowed his eyes, unsure why that was an insult.
"You should be glad that Odin let you live, even if it was on Midgard. Anyone else would have killed you or left you for dead," Ve reminded as Andrea looked away. She knew that was an option, but she figured that they had bigger hearts than that.
"Then why save me? If it was such a bad idea to keep me, why didn't you just kill me? I was a newborn, new life," Andrea asked bitterly.
"Odin and I did talk about it, but Odin felt that Kovarian would retaliate against Asgard, shifting a battle into a full out war," Ve explained, figuring that she wanted to know, but he knew that she would react negatively to it. Andrea said nothing as she stared at him, tears stinging the back of her eyes.
"I was a diversion," Andrea answered, looking at the ground as her fists balled up.
"It could have been worse," Ve whispered, trying to hide his guilt. He knew that he shouldn't have told her, but she deserved to know their true plan for her. The Doctor stared at her, making sure that she didn't start a fight.
"Doctor, I want to leave," she muttered before turning to the exit.
"I am sorry, Eira," Ve informed, stopping Andrea in her tracks. She whipped around, anger filling her.
"You're sorry? Sorry for what, exactly? Sorry for sending me away? Sorry for never contacting me in four decades? Sorry for thinking that I was dead? Sorry for telling me the truth? Sorry that you let Odin send me away into the universe? Sorry for never knowing where I was? Sorry for letting me grow up to be the soldier I am today? Sorry for sending me into a life of blood and anger? Sorry for sending me to a primitive planet?" Andrea shouted, glaring at Ve, who chose to say nothing. Tony touched Andrea's arm, trying to pull her back, but she shook him off. "I don't know much of Asgardian ways of apologizing, but I don't think you're really sorry. You just hid in here as I killed people and worked as a spy for my country. You hid here as I felt abandoned and unloved. Forgotten, even. You hid here when I needed answers. You hid here when I needed you most! So don't you dare tell me you're sorry! I don't want to hear it! You are not sorry, and I don't think you ever be! You have lived in perfect peace, knowing that I was lost to you! Where's mother, anyway? Did you even go see if she was okay with sending me away? Does she even know where you are?!"
"Eira-" Ve began.
"My name is not Eira!" Andrea shouted, shocking Ve. "My name is Andrea Miranda Fury! Not Eira Veson! I am not your daughter! You gave up that right when you sent me off to another planet! My father is Director Nick Fury, who raised me and my sister, Willow!"
"You accepted a Midgardian name?"
"I didn't know what my freaking name was until a few days ago! I. Was. A. Baby! The note did not leave my name!" Andrea yelled as her face grew red. Ve said nothing, surprised that she had the nerve to talk to him this way. "And I swear to God, if you call me Eira one more time, I'm going to punch you."
"I just want to know why you weren't taught in the Asgardian ways," Ve sighed.
"When was the last time you went to Earth? Because you are no longer a god there. You are a piece of myth and legend. I was not taught in those ways because those ways are dead. They are no longer used. They are read in books and taught in college classes. No one cares that you even exist," Andrea informed, confusing Ve.
"Odin's note must have proved that Asgard was real," Ve countered.
"Anyone could have written that note and left that child," Andrea replied.
"What about your aging?"
"No one wants to believe that ancient gods are real, let alone admit it. You would be seen as crazy and would be locked up because of it," Andrea replied as Ve shook his head.
"All those years we were worshipped," Ve whispered, reminiscing a little.
"Those years are over. Now we live in a time where science is god," Andrea informed sourly. "Even when Thor came down a few years back, no one wanted to believe it."
"Thor went down to Midgard?"
"God, you need to get out of this cave. So much has happened since you left me," Andrea whispered before turning away again to leave with Tony beside her. Ve watched as they left before turning to the Doctor.
"She truly hates me," Ve noticed, surprised by it. The Doctor sighed, offering no comfort.
"You would too if your father just left you without a trace. Honestly, I think you should have at least made sure that she was okay," the Doctor informed, sympathizing with Andrea.
"She was a day old. I had no idea that Freya was even pregnant. It was so sudden, Ei- Andrea's arrival and departure. It was like a dream. Sometimes I wondered if I had just wandered away, afraid of a dream," Ve informed, shocking the Doctor.
"So you didn't care if Andrea was okay or not because you weren't sure if she was real?"
"No, I didn't see if she was okay because I didn't care. She's right. I may be her biological father, but it ends at that. We are not family," Ve sighed, shaking his head. The Doctor just bit his lip, not exactly not sure how to respond to that. "You better get going. I'm sure Heimdall has already seen your arrival and has told Odin."
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Thank you for your time," the Doctor said before leaving.
"Make sure that Andrea stays safe," Ve whispered, making the Doctor turn around to see the god's stern face.
"Of course," the Doctor answered, nodding his head before continuing on his path.
The Doctor found Andrea and Tony outside the TARDIS with Andrea kneeling on the ground, her head in her hands. The Doctor panicked and ran over, not sure what happened. Tony saw him rush over and stopped him half way.
"She's devastated, Doctor," Tony informed softly, looking distraught. "She won't talk to me. She was crying when we left, but she stopped a few minutes ago. Now she won't move."
"Have you tried talking to her?" the Doctor asked, glancing at her.
"Of course I have! That's the first thing I did. She won't answer or even respond," Tony sighed, worried.
"I think she might have expected something more than that," the Doctor rationalized before going to Andrea's side. She didn't move as he started to rub her back. "Why don't we get back into the TARDIS? I can take you to a nice vacation planet. Like Space Vegas. Everyone wants to go to Space Vegas."
Andrea said nothing as Tony stood behind the Doctor. The time lord bit his lip before continuing to coax Andrea into doing something. He promised good food, fun activities, beautiful scenery, but nothing got her to move. Eventually the Doctor gave up and picked Andrea up. Tony held the door for them before following them into the TARDIS. The Doctor found a bedroom near the console room and set her down. Andrea laid on her side, staring blankly at the wall, lost in her thoughts. The Doctor left without a word while Tony lingered in the doorway. Once the door was closed, he turned toward the time lord.
"What do we do?" Tony whispered, staring at the entrance.
"We to devise a plan. The next step. We know that Kovarian was desperately trying to find Andrea and get her back. I think she might be something bigger than Plan B. Something more powerful. Possibly more dangerous," the Doctor informed, at a loss. Tony nodded as he followed him into the console room again.
"We need to find Odin, then?" Tony guessed, leaning against the railing surrounding the console.
"Maybe. Or we could go find Kovarian," the Doctor whispered, staring at a blank monitor. Tony immediately stood up straight, shocked to hear those words come out of the Doctor's mouth.
"You've got to be joking. That's suicide," Tony tried to reason as the Doctor shook his head.
"It's the only way we can know what Andrea is. I've tried to get information from outside sources, but no one seems to know why Andrea was even created. We have an idea, but not anything concrete," the Doctor reasoned as Tony shook his head.
"Even if we do get a chance to talk to her, she'll kill you before she gives you any answers," Tony nearly shouted back, growing frustrated at the man's stupidity.
"I know that. I'm not just going to waltz in there like an idiot! I do have a plan," the Doctor exploded, surprised of Tony's assumption. Tony just sighed and shook his head.
"Do you know what Andrea will do if she ever sees Kovarian?"
"Yeah, I do, and that's why she's not going to know that's where we're going. We'll get in and out before she even steps outside of her room," the Doctor answered as Tony rubbed his face.
"This is a stupid idea," he sighed as the Doctor started the search for their enemy.
