The first thing Dice realizes upon waking up, is that she is in a very dark room.

The second thing, is that she remembers.

Really remember.

A long time ago…

It was a bright day.

Her Father and Mother had taken her and her sister to the bank. It was the final errand before finally heading to the park. Something that Dice was very eager to do.

Her quaint family was waiting in line, when suddenly there was a resounding 'crash' and a gunshot. She held her ears to block out the loud noise, and collapsed onto the floor.

She heard muffled screams and cries, and found that a sickly green gas had begun to circulate into the room.

Dice scoped the room for her family, who had become lost in the screen of smoke.

A pair of arms suddenly wrapped around her and held Dice tightly.

They felt warm…so they must be-

"Mom!" Dice shouted, with overwhelming joy. She slowly uncovered her ears, and turned around expecting to see the calm smile that belonged to her Mother. Prepared to hear that quiet, but sort of know-it-all voice that always seemed to know what to do.

It wasn't her Mom.

It was a clown.

Dice had always hated clowns.

She screamed, and ripped herself away from the awful thing. She charged through the smoke, unknowingly let it invade her.

And then she found her.

Crouched on the ground in a pool of her own blood, was Dice's Mother. Two fresh shots in the stomach.

But not dead yet.

The gas was taking it's toll on Odyssey. She felt herself becoming weaker.

She fell onto the ground, but pulled herself to her mother.

"Mom! Mommy!" She pleaded.

The old redhead forced a small, comforting smile. She was trying her absolute hardest to reassure her daughter. She slowly moved her hand to Dice's.

It was cold.

"Mom…," Dice whispered.

"Audrey Celine…," Her Mother choked out.

"Mom-…please…"

Dice felt herself becoming weaker.

"My little…Auddie C."

The arm of a clown grabbed Audrey's arm.

And that was the last Odyssey saw of her Mother and her sanity.

One of the last times Audrey has felt real terror.

Until the Night came.

Yes. She remembers now.

She is Audrey Celine.

Auddie C.

Odyssey.

And she was kidnapped by…a clown.

Tortured into insanity.

To forget.

But why?

Why bother with her?

"What do I have that no one else does?" She whispers aloud to herself.

Then the light flickers on. She is still on the floor of the bank, but her friends are gone. Well…except for one. Boy Blunder is tied up in a chair a few feet away. She's glad to at least have him at her side. Her attention, however, iss grabbed by what's in front of her.

Batman is locked in one of the safe rooms, with nothing but a small screen keeping them apart. He's hitting it, but his abilities seem slightly weakened. Hm.

A sadistic voice flows into the room, attached to a thin man. His face is painted with white, and his mouth with blood.

"Odyssey! I'm so happy to see you again!" He announces in that pitched voice of his.

He doesn't know I remember again, she thinks to herself.

Time to play crazy.

Audrey forces a smile onto her face. "Dad~! Oh-…boy!"

Disgusting.

His smile wavers. Shit. Was her hatred really so clear?

Robin groans in the background. Audrey assumes he's beginning to regain consciousness.

"What's going on…?" He questions. He notices her. "Dice?"

The Joker smiles maliciously at him. "Robbie Boy! You're just in time for our game!" He claps his hands together. "And here's our wonderful contestant now: DICE! Stand on up, my girl!"

What's he planning…?

Dice warily stands up, hysterical smile still pasted onto her face. "What game are we playing?"

"Well, I'm glad you asked!"

It's only then that Dice notices Harley standing near the large safe that's holding Batman captive.

"You've been gone for so long! And I just-…" The Clown pauses to manage a sniff, "I couldn't believe that someone was being so awful to you while I was gone!"

Her attention went immediately to Batman.

"So. I had a brilliant idea. Let's get yer Aunt Ivy on this thang, y'know?" He pauses again to laugh, wildly.

Aunt Ivy?

"So, she found this wonderful little substance to just sorta-!"

"You drugged him," Robin interrupts the Joker, horrified. "Why did you drug him?" He asks, panic lacing his voice.

Oh shit.

"Isn't it obvious? We're going to show that Bat who's boss!" The Joker laughs. "Well not us. Her. My sweet darling, Odyssey. You're going to give Batsy the killing blow~!"

OH SHIT.

Dice forces a laugh. "I-uh, don't really want to kill anyone…"

The clown takes a few strides closer to her, and hands her a blade.

She wants to throw up.

"Now, now…you remember how he treated you? Kept you from your friends? From me…?"

"W-Well…"

"Splendid. Harley! Let Bats out!"

"You got it, Puddin'!" Harley laughs, and types a code into the panel by the door. The safe unlocks, and Batman immediately falls out. He's sickly pale.

"Dice, please don't do this!" Robin pleads, desperately.

"Go on, Odyssey. My little baby…"

Dice takes careful steps towards Batman. The clown isn't far behind her. Her hand quivers.

She couldn't kill Batman…and she definitely couldn't kill the Joker…could she?

Even for all the bad deeds he's done…she still needed answers…

She comes to a slow stop next to Batman's head. "Wh-…how do I…?"

"However you want, darling."

His voice is in her ear. She has to fight to not shudder.

She crouches down. Batman lets out a soft groan.

"DICE!" Robin sobs a few feet away. But to her, it feels like lightyears.

Maybe…maybe she could kill Batman. It would make Joker trust her. She can get answers easier that way. Besides, what had Batman ever done for her?

"Do it, Dice," The Joker commands.

"I know there's some good left in you, Dice," Batman murmurs.

She raises her blade above Batman's chest.

Robin's screams were incomprehensible.

Her heart breaks. She stops mid-air.

"Who am I?" She whispers.

Joker freezes. "What's that, duckling?"

Her hands shake dangerously. "Who am I?"

"I don't want to do this right now, Dice. We'll talk about this later. Get on with it-!"

"Answer me," She demands, the blade still hovering over Batman's chest.

"…You're-…You're my daughter," He answers, simply. Though his voice is tinged with fear.

Robin's sobs grow quiet.

Dice stands up, carefully. She turns to him. "No."

Harley groans. "Get on with it already! Ugh. Teenagers."

"Quiet," The Joker demands. Harley shuts up. "What do you mean, 'no'?"

"I am Odyssey," She takes a careful step towards him. "I am Dice. I am Stupid. I am a Freak."

The Joker retreats a step. "What the Hell are you on about?"

"A Criminal. An Idiot. Insane."

The Joker rolls his eyes.

"But I am also a Friend."

Everyone is silent, except for the sounds of Batman's labored breathing.

"I am Audrey Celine. I am Auddie C."

The Killer Clown stops dead in the middle of his retreat.

"Becca. Catvillain. Burner of Buildings. Hater of Granola. Eater of Cake. Whatever."

The Joker tenses. "How did you find out?"

She ignores the question and takes another step closer. "However, there is something I am not. Never ever, will I ever be called-!"

She suddenly sprints forward, and slashes Robin's binds. He screams with surprise. She spins around, and starts towards the Joker, who looks horrified.

She raises the knife high above her head.

The Joker flinches. "You will regret this-!"

"YOUR DAUGHTER!" Audrey screams.

And then, she stabs herself in the stomach.
