Naruto was the first to wake up today and yawned. Naruto looked at the love of his life and smiled. I'll be the one making breakfast today.

Naruto frowned about what Hanabi confessed to him yesterday. I promise Nabi-Chan, I'll keep you safe and happy for the rest of your life.

Naruto proceeded downstairs to begin making breakfast.

Hanabi woke up to the smell French toast being made. Is he making breakfast for me? Fine, I'll let him do that… but I'm cleaning! Hanabi made her way to the kitchen and smiled. "Smells good."

Naruto smiled as well. "Thank you, just so you know, I'm cleaning today."

Hanabi shook her head and pouted. "No way!"

Naruto set the table and laughed. "Yes way."

Hanabi sighed as she began eating. "You know, you are so stubborn."

Naruto smirked at that as he put the food to hiss mouth. "So are you. Oh yeah, for the announcement today, we're going to the Hokage's Tower after we get ready for the day."

Hanabi nodded. "I'm still cleaning."

Naruto groaned. "No, you worked so hard yesterday, and I have to thank you."

Hanabi shook her head. "Nope I'm cleaning."

Naruto shook his head. "You're not giving up, are you?"

Hanabi smiled "No I am not."

Naruto smiled as well. "How does this sound, whoever doesn't cook have to clean, sound fair?"

Hanabi grumbled. "Fine…"

With that they were done with their food as Naruto went to the shower, brushed his teeth etc… while Hanabi cleaned up. They both finished at the same time and it was Hanabi's turn to shower and brush teeth etc…

When they were both finished, the two went straight to the Hokage tower. Along the way they were talking about how they were going to announce their relationship. Hanabi thought about it. "Well, I should be the main speaker as I'm a Hyuuga and my words would hold more weight and interest to the populace, and I should introduce you?"

Naruto shook his head. The point of a good prank of this caliber would be the shock factor. "No, we should do something that would show that you are serious."

Hanabi then smiled. "How about I bring you in and then I dramatically turn towards you and then I kiss you."

Naruto smiled. "In case that didn't get the message across, you could say something along the lines of 'I'm taken!'"

Hanabi smirked as she kissed her boyfriend "I love you so much.

Naruto smirked as he deepened the kiss. "I love you too."

Hanabi smiled as she held Naruto's hand and looked ahead. "We're here."

Naruto nodded. "Let's go give Jiji a heart attack!"

Hanabi giggled. "Geez Naruto, if I didn't know you, I thought you would be serious."

Naruto scratched the back of his head. "Well I want to prank him so bad. Out of all the people, he was one of the two people I never got."

Hanabi frowned. "Is he really that good? Oh, you said two, so who's the other?"

Naruto laughed. "Nabi-Chan, I love you too much to get you."

Hanabi smiled at that. "Glad that I'm so special."

Naruto smirked. "Whoever heard of pranking with the truth?"

Hanabi shrugged. "Guess you'll be the first one to do it."

Naruto shook his head. "No, we're the first ones to do it."

Hanabi nodded at that. "Oh right, plus it was my idea wasn't it?"

Naruto smiled. "Yup!"

The two then decided to go into the Hokage tower to visit the old guy.

Sarutobi sighed a he was about to finish the last of his paperwork. Finally! After many years, I get to do it! All of a sudden there was a knock on the door."Come in!"

Naruto and Hanabi walked in with smile on their faces. "Ahhh, Naruto, Hanabi, what can I do for you?"

Hanabi stepped forward as Naruto smirked. "We'd like to make a public announcement."

Sarutobi nodded. "Well, what is so important that you would call the entire village for?"

Hanabi smirked as she turned to Naruto. "This."

The look on the Third Hokage's face was priceless as he watched the two fight for dominance with their tongues, which Hanabi has won.

The Hokage shook his head. "Uuuuummmm what? Y-Your on-only ei-eight."

Hanabi giggled. "I know. Chill out old man, it's not like we're getting married… Yet. We'd just like to prank the entire village and shock them, plus I'd like to let everyone know that I'm already taken."

The Third shook his head. "You are too young to be in a relationship. You're only eight years old!"

Naruto smirked. "That only adds on to the shock factor!"

Sarutobi sighed, knowing he was going to regret asking this. "What do you mean shock factor?"

Naruto smirked. "Well they will be shocked that an eight year old is in a relationship, it will only add up when they realize that I'm the 'Demon of Konoha' and even more when they realize that Nabi-Chan here is the heiress to the Hyuuga Clan."

Hanabi nodded. "I'm hoping that this will make the Hyuuga Clan stop the match between Neji and I." Hanabi shivered at the thought of Neji and saddened a bit.

Naruto saw this as he put a comforting hand on Hanabi's shoulder. "It's ok Nabi-Chan, I won't let him touch you."

Hanabi smiled as she nodded. "I know that. Ruto-Kun… if he wins, I want you to take me away from there, I want you to protect me, like you did when they tried to seal me."

Naruto nodded and smiled. "Nabi-Chan, you know I will protect you no matter what, even if you don't want it not only that, I know that you will win that match."

Hanabi smiled as she dug herself into Naruto's arms. "Thank you Ruto-Kun, I love you so much."

The Hokage sighed in exasperation. "Arrrggghhuuuummm. As sweet as this looks, your quest is denied."

Naruto only smirked. "We already went on two dates."

Hanabi chimed in. "And we went shopping! Publicly!"

Sarutobi groaned. "Answer is still no. Look, I know how much you want to prank the village, the juice is not worth the squeeze."

Hanabi and Naruto were confused. "Ruto-Kun, what did he mean by that?"

Naruto just shrugged. "I don't know."

The Hokage sighed. "What I mean is that you cause more trouble than any of us can handle. Think of the repercussions. Not only will the Hyuuga Clan lose their reputation, they will probably condemn Hanabi to a terrible life, simply because they think you are a demon."

Naruto growled. "Dammit Jiji! Can't we just enjoy a little prank?"

Hanabi nodded. "That's right, I couldn't care less about what happens to the Hyuuga Clan! As for this whole condemn to terrible life thing, my life was terrible! The only joy in it was that Ruto-Kun was around. If I can't just enjoy a little prank, then what is the point to life!?"

The Third Hokage sighed as he put his hand through his hair. "I'm sorry, but I won't allow this to happen. Both of your judgments are clouded. I really wanted to void saying this, but as the Third Hokage, I order you two to end this relationship."

Upon hearing that tears went straight to Hanabi's eyes. "Wh-What?"

Naruto growled. "You can't do that!"

Sarutobi shook his head. "Disobeying this order would be insubordination."

Hanabi shook her head. "That only applies to orders that are within reason!"

Sarutobi looked Hanabi straight in the eyes. "It is within reason. I really hate doing this to you two, but your lack of judgment proves you can't handle yourselves. ANBU!"

All of a sudden Anbu came out of nowhere and Hanabi instantly activated her Byakugan and what she saw caused her eyes to widen. "Anbu don't listen to him he's an im-"

All of a sudden Hanabi was knocked out along with Naruto. The supposed Third Hokage began laughing. "Good job ROOT, now place the restraining surveillance seal on both of them. Fifty feet should do."

The supposed Anbu, now revealed as ROOT members saluted. "Yes sir!"

Everyone shunshined out the room just in time for the real Third Hokage to walk in and something gave him a bad feeling, and instantly suspected that Danzo was up to something.

Naruto and Hanabi woke up in the street and they were absolutely confused. That is when an Anbu appeared right in front of them. "You two have a restraining surveillance seal on you. When you two get within fifty feet of each other, the seal will activate and Lord Hokage will see what you are doing. If you two do anything intimate he will electrocute you two. The seals are to be held until further notice. Oh, and just in case you wish to harm him, you cannot approach him unless you are called. Tat is if you don't wish to die.

Naruto and Hanabi gulped. "Ruto-Ku-" All of sudden electricity was emitted from Hanabi's shoulder as she was electrocuted.

"Nabi-Ch-" Naruto was electrocuted as well.

When it stopped Hanabi began crying. "Rut- ARRGGHHH!"

Naruto shook his head. "Hanabi-Ch- URRRGGGHHHH!"

Hanabi could not take it as she curled up into a ball and let her tears fall. "Please, stop this!"

Naruto shook his head. "Hanabi, I think we can only call each other by our full names, no suffixes."

Naruto went to try and hold Hanabi to comfort her and was shocked again. "Oh, Kami! What the hell is wrong with you Jiji!"

Hanabi wiped her tears away as she looked up into Naruto's eyes. "Naruto, I don't think that was the- STOOOOOOOP IIIIT!"

Naruto then punched thee ground. "Jiji, you hurt my Na- ARRRRGGHHHHHH!"

Hanabi began crying again, she wanted to tell him that it wasn't the Hokage so bad, she wanted to tell him that it was an imposter, but she could not. Whoever it was, was trying to break them up or kill them. She knew that if they continued to see each other, Naruto would die. She did not want that. "Naruto, I'm sorry, we can't be together if you are going to die…"

With that Hanabi ran away with tears flying behind her. Naruto got even more pissed. "Damn you old man! Next time I see you! I'm going to kill you!"

Hanabi continued running and crying. Ruto-Kun, I'm so sorry. Oh Kami, who was that man? That imposter?

It wasn't long before Hanabi realized she was back in her room, her old room in the Hyuuga Compound. What am I doing here? All of a sudden the door opened behind her and saw that Sayama Hyuuga was there with a very concerned look. "Are you ok Hanabi-Chan?"

Hanabi shook her head. If I try to tell her the truth I will get shocked, she will suspect something, but something bad will happen to her before she can do anything. I cannot drag anyone into this. "Naruto and I broke up!"

Sayama was shocked. "You two what? Bu- I mean, you two were great for each other."

Hanabi shook her head. "We got into a fight and I-I-I hit him. We decided it was best to end it there."

Sayama held Hanabi and rubbed her back. "It's ok, just let it all go."

Hanabi cried out as she held onto her caretaker. "I have nowhere else to go!"

Sayama nodded as she rocked the crying Hanabi back and forth. "There now, you can live here if you want."

Hanabi smiled through her tears as she nodded. "Yeah, I will, just don't let Neji near me…"

Sayama looked sadly at Hanabi. So she remembers… "I won't let him near you ok? Do you want to be alone?"

Hanabi sniffled and nodded and Sayama exit, locked and closed the door behind her. I'm so sorry Ruto-Kun…

Naruto couldn't help but wonder aimlessly before he realized he was in his room. With that Naruto curled and cried out with the worst pain in his chest. Nabi-Chan, I promise, we will be back together soon. Damn you old man, you tore us apart. No I'm going to tear you apart!

Sasuke sighed as he decided to visit Naruto today. Knowing him he was probably at home with Hanabi. Sasuke approached the door when he heard crying. "Dobe, Hanabi-Chan, you ok?"

Sasuke entered the apartment and noticed that Naruto was crying alone. "Dobe! What happened? Where's Hanabi-Chan!?"

Naruto looked up and saw his best friend standing there with a concerned look on his face. I really don't want to drag him in… "W-We broke up… We got into an argument and decided to break up…"

Sasuke nodded as he pats Naruto on the back. "Cheer up buddy, I'm pretty sure she still loves you, if you talk to her, then that might resolve any issues you two might have."

Naruto shook his head. "I said some pretty hurtful stuff to her. She hates me…"

Sasuke sighed. "How about I talk to her."

Naruto shook his head. "No don't, well you can talk to her, but not about the break up. I'm pretty sure she is upset."

Sasuke smiled. "Alright then I won't. Don't give up hope though. When you are ready, you two should talk with each other about it."

Naruto nodded his head. "Yeah, I will… I, I want to be alone now Teme."

Sasuke nodded as he left Naruto to deal with his emotions.

Over the next week, Naruto and Hanabi trained for their jutsu. Hanabi got to the point where she can launch a needle with little effort, but only one at a time and with a quarter second interval. As for the Rasengan, she got the hang of step 1, but it was a matter of popping the balloon.

Despite her reluctance, Hanabi began training for the Hyuuga Title match as only the Jyuuken techniques are to be used. What Hanabi did not get was that even though she was training for other jutsus, the Hyuuga Clan still wanted her to become the Clan Head, well half of them at least. The other half argued that Neji should become Head. Should he try to leave again, they will certainly catch her and brand her, no Naruto to protect her this time.

Naruto on the other hand managed to get the first part of the Rasengan down and found Jiraiya who showed him the second part. The second part was really hard as it required popping a rubber ball with just pure chakra using power. As for the Chakra Hari no Jutsu, he was on the verge of figuring out on trying to launch the needle but was unable to at this point in time.

As for Sasuke, he mastered Kage Bunshin no Jutsu and was learning basic genjutsu techniques from Kurenai. This where Team 7 stood in terms of training and skill as the week passed. For teamwork, they really suffered because Naruto and Hanabi wanted to be left alone, in which Sasuke felt that his friendship with his teammates were falling part, not only that, he felt that he was losing to them in terms of strength. Not that it bothered him, at least it shouldn't until he remembered Kakashi's words. 'I am positive you can catch up.' But I didn't catch up, in fact I'm falling behind… I will never kill my- No don't go there, you aren't an avenger anymore, you are Sasuke Uchiha, you have friends here… Sasuke couldn't help but remember the times before the Massacre, when he was truly happy… Dammit!

Team 7 approached the building that which held the Chuunin Exams. Hanabi sadly sighed as she looked at Naruto. "Are you ready, Sasuke-Kun? N-N-Naruto…"

Sasuke nodded as Naruto's gaze lingered onto Hanabi's. "Yeah, we're ready… Hanabi…"

Sasuke sighed as he looked at the paper in his hands. "Ok we go to room 302."

Naruto and Hanabi nodded their heads as they were on opposite sides of the hall, not because they hated each other, but so they could resist falling into each other's arms easier. Sasuke sighed. "Hey, look, I know you two broke up, but we need to work as a team to get through this."

Naruto and Hanabi looked up to Sasuke and shrugged as they cautiously walked on either side of Sasuke. "Yeah, ok Teme."

Sasuke sadly sighed. Their mood was getting to him. The Team was about to proceed to the third floor when they noticed traffic. Sasuke sighed as he continued up the stairs. "Clearly genjutsu."

The other two nodded as they proceeded to the First Exam.

When they entered the room, Hanabi shivered a little in fear. Naruto was almost tempted to comfort her except that the side glare from Hanabi said no. Naruto shook his head as he looked for familiar people, you know, people that did not have menacing glares that would kill if looks could kill.

Naruto noticed Sakura, Shino and Kiba. Naruto smiled and waved to them. "Hi guys, how are you all doing?"

Kiba smirked "Good how about you?"

Naruto shrugged. "Could have been better, these guys don't look too nice do they?"

Shino only smirked. "Overestimation is just as bad as underestimation. At least, that is what my bugs are telling me."

Sakura groaned. "Geez, how many times do I have to tell you, bugs are creepy!"

Naruto smiled, at Sakura. "Hi Sakura-Chan!"

Sakura smiled and waved. "Naruto-Kun! How are you doing!?"

Naruto held his smirk. "Like I said, could have been better, I should be asking you that."

Kiba only laughed. "She could kick ass, whatever you said to her man, that put her into high gear now! In terms of raw strength, I be she is the strongest out of all of us."

Naruto looked around and saw a creepy red haired kid with a tattoo on his forehead. "Does anyone know who he is?"

"Nope!" Everyone turned around and saw Team Gai.

Hanabi stepped behind Naruto when she saw Neji. Naruto noticed this as he offered his hand, but Hanabi shook her head. Dammit old man, you're the Hokage! How could you do this!? Naruto smiled as he waved at Tenten and Lee and glared at Neji. "Hi Tenten-Chan! Lee-Kun, how are you two doing?"

Lee gave a wave. "Never better! I'm feeling the power of youth!"

"Ugh troublesome, the moment we get here, there is a weirdo shouting youth."

Naruto knew who it was before he turned to see who it was. "Shikamaru, what are you doing here? I thought you would prefer to watch the clouds."

Choji, who was eating his endless supply of chips laughed. "He would've if he hadn't dragged his lazy ass back here!"

Ino nodded. "Oh, where's Hanabi-Chan?"

Shino glared at Neji. "Hiding from him. She's afraid of Neji."

Ino was confused. "Why?"

Shino shook his head. "None of our business, why don't you leave her alone?"

Everyone nodded as someone else entered the scene. "Can you all shut up? I overheard that someone was interested in knowing about that creepy red haired kid over there. I have my ninja info cards that has information on all the ninja I this room. Oh yeah my name is Kabuto by the way."

Naruto immediately got suspicious. I'll play along for now. "Naruto Uzumaki… So what can you tell me about that red-haired guy of there?"

Kabuto nodded and smiled as he shuffled his cards and drew the top one. "Gaara of the Sand, came in with his brother and sister; Temari and Kankuro. It appears Gaara has special control over the sand. Number of missions completed are unknown, but it looks like he has completed a few B ranks and even an A rank. No one has ever been able to land a hand on this kid, not even so much as a scrape."

Naruto glared at Gaara and he felt that there was something familiar about him, or rather something similar to himself. He could put his finger on it. That was when they made eye contact. The stare Gaara gave to him sent chills down Naruto's spine and for a moment, he thought, no not thought… knew what Gaara was thinking. If I'm not careful, he's going to kill me.

Hanabi looked up at Naruto. "Is something wrong Naruto?"

Naruto was about to put a hand on Hanabi's shoulder, but she just backed away. I don't ever want to see him in pain…

Naruto shook his. "No, it's nothing…" Nabi-Chan, I need you…

Hanabi could see the plea in Naruto's eyes, the plea to come back. But she could not if the seal was still there.

Naruto groaned Stupid seal!

Kabuto then spoke up at this point. "Hmm, he definitely seems more interesting than that backwash team from Otogakure."

Naruto suddenly glared at Kabuto. "What are you doing!? Do you wan a fight!?" He's either really fucking stupid to provoke an attack from a supposedly unknown enemy, or he's trying to test out their abilities.

Sure enough, one of them went and attacked Kabuto by punching him and missing him by an inch. Everything seemed fine until Kabuto collapsed and puking. Naruto observed the attack with a critical eye. Ok he definitely missed, but it looks like that the miss was deliberate. I think the attack came from the apparatus on his arm, or rather inside of it, why else would there be holes… What the hell did he use?

Naruto noticed that Kabuto smiled and instantly knew that he figured out the attack. Probably because I didn't feel the attack, I could not draw an exact conclusion.

With that thought, Hanabi tugged on Naruto's sleeve. "Are you alright Naruto? You seem out of it today?" Naruto could not help but continue to feel the tightening pain in his chest as he looked into the eyes of Hanabi.

Naruto nodded his head. "Yeah, I am, I just have a lot in my mind."

Hanabi smiled. "It's alright, we'll get through this exam together." That should let him know that I still wish to be with him…

Naruto got the message as he nodded. "Yes we will."

Another member from the team from Oto was about to attack when a Jounin shunshined into the room. "Rule number one! Any fighting without express permission from the proctor will be grounds for removal! Rule number two! You and your teammates will participate in these exams as one person, meaning if one of you fails or gets pulled, the rest of the team fails! Rule number three! Don't die!"

Everyone was shocked at the entrance and speech from the Jounin with a Konoha bandana wrapped around his head and a scar running down his eye. "Hello I am Ibiki and I will be your proctor for the first part of the Exam. Welcome to the Chuunin Exams!"

A/N Well, my muse strikes again. What is romance without conflict? This should certainly make things more interesting. What is Danzo planning? Guess correctly and I won't tell you. I will leave that up to your imaginations. Oh yeah, if you haven't yet, please heck out my FictionPress profile!
