Oh thank you sooo much for the reviews on the last chapter *-* I'm SO glad that you liked it!
And I'm terribly sorry for having absolutely NO time for writing, as I have exams every week... And then I had a writer's block ._. Though, I did my best and tried to do something productive like a new chapter :p
It's a bit longer because there's a lot of dialogue... Howsoever, I hope it's not too bad^^
Love you all xxx And thanks for meat pies :3
"Dad! Nellie!" Johanna jumped out of the carriage just as it stopped in front of the pie shop in Fleet Street. Sweeney and Nellie got pulled into a close hug by her.
The barber was really happy to see his daughter again. She had accepted him as her father so fast – fortunately she didn't know all the facts. But at least she had never asked.
"Are you all right?", he asked her while Nellie greeted Anthony.
"Oh, yes. It's nice to be here again. Above all because we've come for such an important thing." Smiling, she winked at him.
Of course. They had come because tomorrow was the 23th of November. The day of the wedding of Sweeney Todd and Eleanor Lovett. It wouldn't be a big wedding, just with Johanna and Anthony. The family was enough for Sweeney. Definitely. Although he could laugh with Nellie, be just somehow lucky, he still hated the world outside. Nellie gave him so much love and happiness, but when he had contact to other people, people he couldn't trust because he didn't know what they would do to him, he was again haunted by his past. The world was a cruel place and would always be.
Sweeney gave his daughter a smile back. Then he shook Anthony's hand.
"I see, you care well for Johanna", he said.
"Come on, you can have your conversations inside too", Nellie interrupted. "You'll only get a cold outside! Come, I've made a cake."
The idea of getting into the warmth pleased everybody. Within a few minutes they all sat down in the living room and Nellie brought tea and cake.
"You have luck that your fiancée is such a great cook, Sweeney", Anthony grinned.
"I think so too." Sweeney smiled at the slightly blushing Nellie. She actually was the best thing that had happened to him. Sometimes he still couldn't believe that somebody could give him so much pleasure in his life, that he would ever love somebody so much again. And he had many reasons to love her.
"Nellie!", Johanna exclaimed suddenly. "I've got something for you... for tomorrow, you know."
"Really?"
"Yes! But dad maybe shouldn't see it."
"Then come to the bedroom."
Women and their secrets... The barber knew that it wasn't worth to ask. They wouldn't tell him anyway.
"Now, Anthony... Some news?", Sweeney asked, watching how the two women left the room.
It was so nice for Nellie too see Johanna and Anthony again. She really had missed them. Besides, it was good for Sweeney to see his daughter. Johanna started immediately talking and packing something out.
"So look, I think this would perfectly match your dress!" It was a beautiful white corset that Johanna was holding in the air.
"Oh, thank you!" Completely amazed by this present, Nellie hugged Johanna. They had bought the dress the last time – Johanna had insisted on it, she obviously was more exited for the marriage than Nellie or Sweeney - and it definitely was a wonder that Sweeney hadn't seen it yet.
"No problem", Johanna smiled. "Could you maybe put on the dress so that we can see how it looks like together?"
"Well, of course I can."
While the baker put on her dress, she saw Johanna frowning.
"Uhm... Nellie... Sorry for asking, but are you... I mean, it just looks like... uhm..."
Nellie started to laugh when she saw where Johanna gazed to. This girl wasn't stupid. And sooner or later she would have found out anyway.
"Yes, I am pregnant", Nellie admitted. "I didn't want to let anybody know. Except for Sweeney of course."
"Do... do you mean that I'm going to be a big sister?" Johanna's smile grew.
"Yes... Oh, this corset is just wonderful!" Nellie turned around, looking at herself in the mirror.
"I'm glad that you like it. It fits you so well! But... for how long are you pregnant?", Johanna asked.
"Around three months." The baker automatically caressed her belly slightly. There wasn't much visible, but though you could see it if you looked close enough.
"That means that you were pregnant when we met the last time?" Johanna's eyes widened a bit.
"Yes, love. But we didn't want to tell you... Just because we weren't married yet and..."
Johanna's giggle interrupted her.
"Nellie, it's all right. I'm happy for you. You'll be a wonderful mother and tomorrow you're going to be officially my stepmother."
"Stepmother... That word doesn't sound really nice, I think", Nellie smiled warmly. Then she changed her clothes again.
"Well, she is working too much..."
"Who is working to much?" The sudden sound of Nellie's voice made Sweeney jump a little.
"You", he gave her a simple answer. It wasn't a lie. In his opinion, Nellie worked more than she should and he didn't know whether it was that good for her.
Nellie stepped behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"And you don't need me tired because of... certain nightly activities?", the baker hissed into his ear so that only he could hear it. Sweeney laughed quietly about her comment. A naughty woman, she was. Then he took her hand and pulled her onto his lap.
"Oh, you know that it's bad luck to see each other before the marriage?", Johanna suddenly asked.
Sweeney raised an eye brow. Was she serious? He didn't really believe in such things.
"You mean we'll sleep in different rooms?"
"Yes." Johanna grinned, obviously amused by Sweeney's reaction. Although Sweeney definitely wasn't amused. Why was his daughter doing this to him...
So it happened, that Sweeney actually slept on the couch while Nellie should sleep in her bed. Nellie sighed and turned under the blanket. She couldn't sleep. She just couldn't. Not because she was exited, no. She was surprisingly calm. No, it was because Sweeney was missing.
Then she made a decision. Tradition, bad luck... To hell with it. Determined, she stood up and made her way to Sweeney. She just passed the kitchen when she suddenly ran into somebody. Sweeney.
"Nellie?", he whispered.
"Who else."
"Where are you going?"
"To you." Nellie smiled at the barber in the darkness, the only light came from the street lamps outside. "And where are you going?"
"Well, I wanted to go to you, my pet." Sweeney softly stroke over her cheek and leaned down. His lips were just about meeting hers, when suddenly...
"You two are impossible!"
Nellie and Sweeney jumped. Johanna stood there, looking at them.
"What?", she asked. "I was thirsty. And what are you two doing here?"
"I'm terrible sorry, my dear. But I won't sleep without Nellie", Sweeney answered. Nellie was quite sure that Johanna rolled her eyes.
"Anyway", Sweeney continued, "What we do at night is not your business. I don't ask what you do at night either!"
"Well, different than you, I sleep at night... Good night." Johanna sighed and left quickly before Sweeney could comment her statement. Suddenly Nellie started to giggle quietly and wrapped her arms around Sweeney.
"You have a really naughty daughter, love", she joked. Then she kissed him softly and looked into his dark eyes. They would spend the night together without any doubts.
Please let me know in a little review whether you liked it or not ;)
