With a hand cupped to his face, Tsuna watched his brother helplessly as he failed yet another jump. Tears slowly slid down his cheeks as he saw his brother give up and relent to his loss. He clenched his fist at his side and shouted, "Yuuri!"
Finally, as if a miracle occurred, the skater began to flow. He began to slide throughout the rink as if flying. However, it was too late. Once the music stopped, he slowly slid to the kiss and greet. He held his head low as he saw his younger brother.
"Yuuri..." Tsuna whispered and wrapped his arms around his brother, resting his head on his shoulders. "Yuuri...Yuuri...Yuuri..." He continued his mantra, never letting go of his brother.
As if a dam awoke, the tears flew and Yuuri clenched his brother close. "Vicchan...Our Vicchan...Tsuna...Our Vicchan."
Tsuna tugged his brother to the bench and slid down. "I know. I know." He strangled a whimper. "We're going to Vicchan Yuuri. Let's go home, okay?"
Yuuri nodded and the two brothers separated, hands still linked and trudged along. Yuuri's coach watched the brothers solemnly and sighed heavily.
Yuuri bowed his head as he waited for the cab to arrive. He stayed in the main lobby, hand still clenching his brother's.
Tsuna turned to Yuuri's coach, Celestino. "Celestino-san, how long do we have till the cab arrives?"
"'Bout fifteen more minutes Tsuna. Why?" Celestino asked.
Smiling, Tsuna tugged Yuri with him. Yuuri yelped as he was tugged along, staring at Tsuna in confusion. However, once looking around, his eyes widened. Impatiently, Tsuna tugged on his skates, helping his brother with his own, and slid onto the ice.
Impatiently, Tsuna tugged on his skates, helping his brother with his own, and slid onto the ice. "Ready?" Tsuna whispered.
"What are you doing Tsuna?" Yuuri asked, wanting to get off the ice. He could almost feel the disapproving and disappointed stares of the invisible audience. He wanted to curl into himself and cry.
Tsuna tugged their connected hands outwards and slid to the right, slowly raising his leg. "Let's skate together. For Vicchan. For us. For you. Just one skate before we go?"
Yuuri nodded hesitantly and tightened his grip on Tsuna. The two slid around the rink in synchronous, closing their eyes and merely letting their emotions guide them. They twirled, jumped, and parted for moments before returning to each other. This continued to their invisible music, letting all of their anger, frustration, sadness be conveyed in this one dance.
When Victor arrived at the rink prepared to warm up, he wasn't sure what he was expecting. Maybe some workers left over cleaning the seats. Maybe some other skaters warming up as well. He sure wasn't expecting two long figures skating side by side in unity. He wasn't expecting the raw emotions that radiated from the dance. He wasn't expecting to be captivated by the two skaters.
"I thought I'd find them here," a voice behind him said.
Victor jumped and turned to see an old friend, Celestino. "Celestino! You know these two?"
"One of them is one of mine, Katsuki Yuuri. Had a big falling out today, unfortunately," Celestino sighed. "The one beside him is his little brother Tsunayoshi."
"A falling out?" Victor asked.
"Their dog had died the previous night," Celestino said. "They've been distressed by it ever since. It really messed up Yuuri's play today. This is Tsuna's way of cheering up Yuuri and making sure he doesn't bottle up all of his emotions."
Victor turned back to the siblings and then asked, "Why isn't Tsunayoshi a skater? You said one, Katsuki Yuuri. What about the other?"
"Tsuna hates attention, on the rink and outside," Celestino shrugged. "Well, I've gotta tell the boys our cab is here. Hope to talk to you again another time Victor."
Victor could only nod as he watched his colleague collect the brothers and lead them to their cab.
