Really short, really angsty. *giggulz* -Oh wait, angst is supposed to be bad... right... then why do Fan!girls/guys love it so much?

I own the Lion King and DC- jk. You believed me there for a moment though, right, right?

I didn't think so.

Flash was sitting on the couch in the entertainment room, John sitting on the other side. Diana, Dinah, and Shayera took up the other couch, while J'onn had called dibs on the arm-chair. Atom and Marvel were both sitting cross-legged on the floor, with Superman sprawled out on the floor next to them. Hawkman stood at the door, drinking a beer, with Hal standing next to him. Zatara was levitating in the air, Aquaman sitting next to him on the right side of the couch. Red Tornado (grrrrr) stood off behind the wide-screen TV as he re-charged.

Green Arrow was crouched down next to the movie box, averting Robin's gaze from 'The Godfather', 'The King's Speech', and all other R-rated movies the League had. "How about this one?" He held up 'Mary Poppins'. Robin's face morphed into one of disgust, and the whole League fell into laughter. Oliver rolled his eyes behind his mask and put the movie back. "Well, we don't have many Disney movies, kid-"

"The Lion King?" Robin questioned curiously as he pulled up the gold and blue box. On the front was a picture of a little lion, with two larger ones in the background. Then, odd enough, a pig and some kind of squirrel-looking thing were standing next to the baby lion.

Flash's eyes grew wide. "You've never seen the Lion King?"

At Robin's shake of the head, everyone gasped. Green Arrow took the movie from the child's hands and put it in the DVD player. Then, Arrow went and laid down next to Superman, letting Robin sit on his gut. I bet Roy wished he had school off... Then again, Robin's school did get blown up...

The movie started, and Robin hushed everyone (who weren't talking in the first place) before turning and gazing at the TV. There was a blur of red and yellow, and suddenly, the Flash was back with popcorn. "Forgot it, sor-"

"SSSSSH!"

Flash made a face at the boy, who giggled before turning back to the movie again. Superman took a bowl of popcorn and set it on his torso so that Robin could reach without having to get up.

Then, the little chimes echoed through the room as the Cinderella castle appeared over the screen. Robin's face was bright and eager, and everyone was having a hard time staying quiet with the adorable-ness of the child's face.

DURING THE MOVIE:

"Why is that monkey about to drop the baby lion?"

"No, Robin, he is simply dedicating him to the African deities."

"Oooooh... What's diets?"

"Why is that monkey's butt blue?

"Because that's the way Hera made him."

"Oooooh... Who's he?"

"Pft."

"What is the monkey holding?"

"It's a staff, kiddo, and- that's not a monkey."

"What is it, then, Uncle Barry?"

"An ape."

"No, Flash, it's a baboon."

"I thought it was a chimpanzee!"

Not too far into the movie, they reached Mufasa's death scene. Everybody- except Robin- was expecting it. The little lion was clutching onto the branch, and his father was- for a lack of better terms- freaking out.

Then, it struck J'onn that maybe...

He looked over at the other heroes, but only Hal seemed to remember what happened next. The two blinked at each other, and then Hal said, "Robin, could you go get-"

"But the movie's still going!"

"I know, kid, but-"

There was a loud gasp that came from Robin's lips, and everyone flinched collectively.

Mufasa was falling.

Down, down, down...

Everyone froze. The only noise was that coming from the movie. Slowly, Captain Atom picked up the remote and turned it off. All of the heroes turned to look at Robin, who's face was pale, his jaw slack.

Slowly, Green Arrow sat up, pulling Robin into his arms. "Kiddo? Hey, you oka-"

Then, he cried.

Little shoulders shook violently, whimpers and pained wails coming from the child's lips. Nobody moved- nobody knew what to do. So, Green Arrow simply held the boy into his chest, letting Robin grab on and weep and weep and weep-

"What is going o- Dick?"

Before anyone could even blink (even Flash), Batman was in the room, holding Robin to his chest as he kicked Arrow out of the way. "Ouch!"

"Toughen up, Queen."

Nobody breathed as Batman stalked from the room, the crying boy still in his arms.

Slowly, though, Superman breathed out, "Not our best idea..."

"Your idea, Blue."

"Shut it, Barry."

Batman stalked down the hall until he reached his own room. Quickly punching in the code, he slipped inside, not even bothering to turn on the lights. With quick hands, Batman took off Robin's cape, mask, belt, gloves, and shoes. The child was still weeping, tears coming over his cheeks in waterfalls.

It had been a tough week, being that it was almost Christmas and would be Robin's first without his parents. So, Superman decided to have a spontaneous movie night- (spontaneous because you never knew when there would be no trouble on Earth, so that the whole League could be there). Lucky for Robin, no one had thought about how Mufasa fell to his death-

Just like how Richard's parents did.

Still crying, Dick reached out and up towards his foster-father. Taking his cowl off, Bruce complied and plucked up the boy, letting Richard cry into his neck freely.

There was nothing that could be done. Nothing that could be said.

It had been a hard, hard week, and it would be a hard life. Twists and turns and bumps everywhere, made simply (or so it seemed) to remind the poor eight-year-old of what could have been, should have been.

"T-Taticul?"

Bruce smiled gently as he kissed the boy's mop of black hair. "I'm here, micuta pasari... I won't leave, I promise."

I'll get the tissues.

MINI!RANT: Why is the term Fan!girl? I mean, that is so sexist! Yeah, I'm a Fan!girl, but there are Fan!guys, too! So, I challenge you, my brothers and sisters in the Fan!kingdom of Young Justice Awesomeness, to say Fan!fans instead of Fan!girls for one week. ONE WEEK! Okay? GIGGULZ!
