21. AN Update & Explanation

Thank you to everyone that takes the time to write me a review be it good or bad.

Unfortunately it seems I haven't managed to explain clearly how I am writing this story. The result is reviews from people that get frustrated for having to read contents transcribed from the you are one of the people that understands what I am doing and kind enough not to be upset, feel free to ignore the rest of this message. Otherwise, read on...

So, as I explained before, as a challenge to myself, I've set out to write a story inside the story that happened in the TV show. Therefore, telling the story of the show is also part of what you going to see in this fiction. Trust me, it also annoys me having to regurgitate the TV series, but it is part of the challenge and I cannot get to the new parts without writing what happened.

This is very tricky, since some episodes allow for me to advance *my* plot and others do not. I can't have Damon and Elena making out if they had a fight in the episode for example.

It hinders my plot, but it wouldn't be a challenge if it wasn't difficult. So if you are reading this fiction, I assume you are aware of that. It is also the reason why I cannot avoid Stelena moments(I will always warn you of them though).

The latest review I've received, the reviewer said that "There's really not anything new in this chapter that wasn't on the show. Or the last few even."

So I decided to highlight the evolution of *my* story. I'll start with chapter 20 and decide later if I feel like wasting time that I could be writing updating this page:

CHAPTER 20 RECAP

The first 19 Paragraphs did NOT happen in the TV Show.

+ Damon defies Elena's wish to get help from Alaric;

+ They share a moment;

+ Elena shows that she cares for Damon's as well as Stefan's well being;

+ Damon practically confesses to having feelings for Elena and he actually says he cares for his brother;

+ Damon asks her to trust him and Elena does.

At end of the second part:

+ Damon is at a loss of what to do,

+ Elena is the one to have the solution (we do not see this in the show)

+ Elena is the one to convince Damon to ask Alaric for help; (we do not see this in the show)

+ Elena leans on him, (none of these happen in the show).

In the last paragraph:

+ Elena and Damon share another moment, where they both keep themselves together and reassure each other before going ahead.(Yet another thing that hasn't happen on the show)
