Kurt's eyes opened when he heard a crash downstairs. Blaine shot up next to him with his eyes panicked. They both looked at each other before Blaine moved quickly, going to Kurt's door and opening it. Finn was in the hall with a baseball bat, staring at the stairs. Kurt came up behind his boyfriend, looking out.
"It's okay guys! Carole just dropped a plate!" Burt's voice traveled up the stairs.
"Really?" came Finn's doubtful response.
"Buckeyes." Burt's voice said.
Finn automatically lowered the bat, "Be more careful Mom!"
Kurt stared at his stepbrother who turned to them.
"We have code words now for things. Buckeyes means everything is all clear. If you ever hear him say Mellencamp you're supposed to panic." Finn said, making Kurt laugh softly.
Blaine smiled, "That's a very good idea actually."
"I came up with it." Finn told them proudly, as Kurt moved into the hallway and hugged his stepbrother.
It shocked both boys needless to say.
"Thanks for protecting us Frankenteen." Kurt said, pulling away.
Finn grinned widely, "Like I would do anything less."
Kurt smiled at him before moving back to Blaine. They all heard the doorbell, staring at the stairs again.
"That's probably my parents." Blaine said, as Finn moved to his room.
All three winced when they heard the crash of the baseball bat. Finn shrugged apologetically as they heard the front door open. Kurt went to his vanity and fixed his hair. Blaine and Finn smiled at him, amused by the younger boy.
"Kurt, you look beautiful." Blaine said, going over to the boy, "Now stop preening yourself and lets go meet my family."
The countertenor looked more than a little wary of it but let Blaine lead him out of the safety of his room. Finn was almost laughing at Kurt who unintentionally dug his heels into the ground.
"Blaine." with one word, the lead Warbler turned to Kurt.
"I'm sorry, we're supposed to-"
"It's okay I just need a minute." Kurt said, leaning against the wall.
"Boys! Blaine's parents are here!" Carole called to them.
Finn frowned at his stepbrother, "I'll go down first and tell them you guys just woke up from a nap. It's not a lie since you guys did just wake up."
"Much appreciated Finn." Blaine said, as the jock went downstairs, "Kurt, it'll be okay. I talk about you so much to my parents they'll probably think they know you already."
"What if they think I'm too...loud?"
"They can get over it. I love you loud." Blaine said, grinning crookedly, "If they don't like the whole Kurt Hummel package then screw them. I adore the whole package honestly. I get bitchy comments and sassy attitude with a side of amazing taste in clothes. And don't get me started on your eyes, I could go on for days about them."
Kurt blushed as he looked down, "Now you're just being a jerk. A very cliché jerk, but one all the same."
"Dammit, we're back to cliché's are we? I can work with this." Blaine teased, "Your eyes are like the ocean, I never actually know-"
"Don't finish that sentence." Kurt said, covering Blaine's mouth, "I won't be able to stop laughing."
When he removed his hand Blaine continued, "What color they are. Are they blue or are they green?"
Kurt laughed loudly, covering his mouth as Blaine smirked.
"And when you blush, it drives me wild. It's insanely adorable at the same time that I just want to make out with you."
"Blaine!" Kurt squealed loudly when Blaine wrapped his arms around his waist.
The boy pulled him close as they almost danced in the hall. Kurt curved his arms around Blaine's neck, laughing loudly when the boy hummed Teenage Dream.
"You're off!" Kurt said, smiling.
Blaine gave him a mock-offended face, "You good sir, do not know if I am on or off. Because you, my amazingly adorable boyfriend, are too busy laughing."
Kurt laughed again when Blaine's fingers tickled him.
"You're impossible!" Kurt said, smiling.
"I think you meant to say amazing and ferocious."
Blaine swept him up again bridal style and Kurt sighed.
"Not again Blaine Anderson! Put me down this instant!" Kurt said, as his boyfriend moved to the stairs, "I am not disabled!"
"Stop kicking my leg! You're going to make me drop you! This is a romantic gesture dammit!"
"Romantic my ass! I feel like a baby!"
"You're my baby though! Kurt! I'm going to drop you! Don't tickle me!"
Blaine let out a squawk and almost dropped Kurt who squealed and gripped his boyfriend.
"Don't drop me!"
"Stop fighting me!"
"You almost dropped me! What happened to romance?"
"You almost kicked it in the groin when you tried to tickle it!"
Blaine got to the landing and set Kurt down carefully.
"No more picking me up." Kurt said, pointing a finger at Blaine, "No one likes it. Especially going up and down the stairs."
Blaine mock saluted him as they moved to the living room. Finn was laughing with Carole. Burt staring at them like they'd lost their minds. Blaine's smiled when he saw his parents.
They looked amused to say the least.
"How much of that did you hear?" Blaine asked, hugging his parents.
"From when you said cliché." Carole said, grinning at Kurt who stood awkwardly.
"These are my parents Eveleen and Horatio Anderson." Blaine said, "Mom and Dad this is Kurt Hummel."
Kurt shook their hands with a small smile.
"Please just call me Eve." she told him when they shook hands.
"We're sorry we didn't get here sooner." Horatio said, sitting down again.
Kurt did a quick surveillance of the room. The Anderson's were sitting in the loveseat. Finn was sitting on the couch. Blaine pulled Kurt over to sit on the couch. Kurt was inbetween his stepbrother and boyfriend quickly. Dad and Carole were sitting in the recliner. Carole was sitting on the arm of it.
"So how are you boys doing?" Eve asked.
Blaine shrugged at the same time as Finn.
"Could be better could be worse." Blaine said, as his mother stood up and went to him.
She tilted his head and frowned, "Is this the one that will scar?"
"Yes ma'am." Blaine told her, "I have some stitches on my upper stomach and my arm."
She made a movement that Kurt took as her wanting to see. The countertenor had completely forgotten about the stitches in his boyfriend's upper arm. Blaine showed her and she looked at Kurt and then Blaine again.
"I'm glad you two boys are alright. Horatio has already talked to the hospital." she said, "We're going to sue them for letting that criminal get away from them in the first place."
"Mrs. Anderson that isn't necessary. Two nurses were hurt trying to protect us." Kurt told her softly.
"They didn't tell us that." Eve said.
"W-When Blaine didn't come back I checked things out. There was a nurse behind the nurse station. She was trying to call for back up before Isaac jumped her. The other nurse was down the hall, she was trying to run to get help." Kurt told her, "Yes, there should have been more security there to help us, but it's over and done with. I don't want to cause any more trouble than I have."
Blaine's arm pulled him closer, "Mom the thought is awesome but the only thing I'd like to see done is Berkley getting chewed out."
"The officer?" Horatio asked.
"Yes sir. Kurt told them he wasn't comfortable with Isaac in the building and they continued to do so anyways." Blaine said, "If anything you could blame the entire thing on him."
"Then we'll take his job-"
"Please don't." Kurt told them, "I honestly don't want to make another enemy. And I really want to just put this entire thing behind us. Move forward like Doctor Burroughs said, right Blaine?"
He looked at his boyfriend and tried to convey how much he wanted to let this entire thing go.
"I agree with Kurt." Finn said, "He could make another enemy out of it and it won't help his recovery or Blaine's if we keep bringing up what they went through."
Kurt looked at Finn in shock, "Frankenteen that was very-wow."
Finn grinned at him, "Totally had my Wheaties this morning bro."
Blaine snorted beside Kurt and the countertenor laughed as well.
"Finn, I love you so much." Kurt said, hugging the boy, "You should never change."
Burt and Carole snorted from their spots as well. The Anderson's looking lost at the conversation. Finn smiled at them as they all quietened into a companionable silence.
The conversation turned to school and Glee, more pleasant subjects for Kurt. Blaine's hand gripping his kept him smiling widely the entire time.
