The Girl Who Fills My Heart (Part 3)
Kaname's POV (1st POV)
Time goes faster than I ever realized. Five years has gone. Kiryuu Nina had turned into ten years old girl by now. Her hair grew longer, become taller, and never seen so gloomy anymore. On the other side, my sister Yuuki is getting too attached to that little girl. They both become so inseparable. Yuuki can get panicked so easily whenever that little girl's asthma worsened. And me... that is something else.
Day by day this feeling grow bigger and deeper. I can't stop it. The longer time I spent with that girl, the more I want to touch her, hug her, make her my own, and my own alone.
I feel it's not right. This feeling is not part of the plan, but... something else in my mind said this is the right thing. I don't know what to do if it comes to that girl and it makes her staying here is longer. That thing brings its own consequences.
On one peaceful night, his presence appears in my mansion since ten years gone. Among falling snows that almost turn into blizzard, the man's heterochromia eyes stare at me with his disgusting look.
He gave me his grimace. "It's been a while, Kaname, my dear... nephew."
"I think it's better if you stay asleep... Uncle."

Nina's POV (normal POV)
The power Kiryuu Nina feels right now is almost as strong as Kaname. Nina, since many years, feels that fear again. The same fear as five years ago.
Even in this basement, she can hear the snow is going rampage outside and Kaname is at there with whomever the enemies outside. Then here she is, waiting in the Kuran's basement with Yuuki. She doesn't like it. She hates it.
Silently, Nina grabs twin daggers in her jacket. She is not the same cry baby five years ago who can only sat and cried when her precious people are been taken from her. She can fight. Kaname knows that, she knows it, but why Kaname placed her in here, safely with Yuuki when he endangers his life up there? She feels stronger now, stronger than anyone else; even she is sure can kill a pureblood now.
"Then why don't you kill the girl besides you? She is a pureblood too." A mysterious voice in her head spoke up.
"No," Nina refused.
"Why?"
"They are indeed the same creature, but not that person. Take a revenge on them is useless besides... I've grown to like them." Nina admitted. Now Yuuki is like her mother and Kaname...
Suddenly her mind is blank. She can't think anything. It happened again. When it comes to Kaname, she can't think properly. What is him to her actually? The answer never came to her mind. Ever.
Nina shakes her head abruptly. "It's not the time to think about it!" Then she stands up from her sofa. But as fast as her standing move, someone had already moved too, grabbed her wrist tightly.
It's Yuuki. Nina stares at her worrying face.
"Where do you think you're going?" She asked panicked. "Nina, it's too dangerous outside!"
"I know but..." Nina grabs her free fist. "I have a debt to pay. Kaname had saved my life twice." She stares at Yuuki with gentle looking. "You both have done many things to me. I have many debts I can never pay to you. So please, only this time, let me do a favour."
Yuuki looks objected, "Nina, that man outside... was not someone you can fight. He is a pureblood like me and have many companions who sides with him, most of them are from the council." she explained.
Nina stands still when she hears the name "council". She knows that these purebloods keep her presence a secret from anyone, includes the hunters and the council, so she can have a peaceful life in here. Her action to help Kaname will only give an announcement to the world that the Kuran family had kept a human in their mansion for unknown time being.
It will be trouble and shame for them and most likely... she can never live with them anymore. Strangely, Nina can give Yuuki a reassuring smile.
"I am ready to take all risks."

The cold wind blows her hair, freezes her uncovered skin when she opened the main door. But she stands still. In front of her, Kaname turn his back. Far over there, stands a man with curled dark hair, with different eyes colour: one is as dark as Kaname while the other one is blue; both of them are glowing in the dark. That man's eyes are glaring at her, send chill down to her spine. Nina thought, whatever on that guy's mind, there nothing is good in it.
"Who is that girl, Kaname? Is she your pet?" That guy mocked at Nina.
"Nina, I told you to stay inside." Kaname told Nina without even turns at her.
"Don't treat me childishly, can't you?!" Nina insisted poor headedly.
That guy smiles at her. "Kaname, that girl looks so interesting. I want her..." Nina feels an enormous power come aims at her. Nina pulls out her daggers, ready to attack, when Kaname responds it faster. He blocks the attack, prevents it from reaches Nina.
Not only blocked, Kaname also gives replies the attack with stronger attack until that guy can't even block it. Kaname's power hit that guy perfectly to his abdomen. Pierced him. The snows beneath his body turn red by his blood, but he laughs instead of shows any pain. Nina concludes that this guy is crazy. And for her, any crazies is twice dangerous than the danger themselves.
Nina feels Kaname's rage thickened in the air. "I won't let you lay your finger on her, Rido." Even his voice turned colder and crueler than ever.
"Rido?" she thought confusedly. "Kaname knows this man?"
The man called Rido grins as the wounds on his body fully healed. "It's not a proper name to call your uncle, right..." Nina feels her heart stops beating.
"Uncle? That guy is Kaname's uncle?"
"My little puppet, Kaname...?" When the words puppet echoed in the air, Nina feels enormous dark power are coming out of Kaname's body. Nina thought Kaname couldn't be angrier.
"That expression again. Can't you show your hospitality to your uncle, Kaname?" Rido mocked him once more.
Nina started to get the core of this conflict. "He said parents. The couple I never saw in this house. Since I was here, Kaname and Yuuki lived by themselves, and when this guy mentioned about it..." This thought made Nina feels a little bit dizzy, but she got the conclusion that this guy is the killer of Yuuki and Kaname's parents. Then...
She can kill this man without hesitation.
With her full speed, Nina runs toward Rido with her daggers in attack position. That guy manages to dodge her first attacks, but the second and the third attacks come in less than one second after the first. Rido is having hard times to deal with that girl's speed, makes him realizes that this girl's speed is as fast as the vampires. Even if when Rido uses his power to strikes Nina, that girl can dodge it easily. Then she manages to scratch his face for the first time. Next minutes, she can sever one of his arms. Blood stained her clothes and face, but Nina doesn't give a care about it. She glares at Rido coldly.
Suddenly she feels her chest is in pain. Nina has to tries her best to not shows Rido her weak spot.
Suddenly an attack targets Nina. That girl has no time to escape, but right at the moment she could get hit, a snow barrier protects her. Then she sees blood coming out of the barrier right to her face. When the snow barrier slowly melts, she sees Rido's body is torn apart on his torso. He begins healing his body. Nina secretly grumbles. Kaname's attack didn't pierce his heart.
That guy is smiling. "It hurt, Kaname. Is that how you treat your master?" Rido grins, but he never stares at Kaname. In minutes, his arm which Nina has severed is recovered again. "But, it doesn't matter. You can never finish the final blow, can't you?"
"This man... Since the battle started, always babbling about master, puppet and stuffs like that." Nina thought annoyingly."What do you mean master?" she asked.
Rido stares at her. Nina takes two backward steps. He look observes her for a while, before shows his fangs to her. "Now I remember... The hair and those eyes... You are Kiryuu."
Nina startled a bit, but then she calms again. She never speaks.
"I never thought there is survivor," he said. "My work was incredible, didn't it? I never expect I will tear apart a famous hunter family."
Her entire body suddenly shivers, not by fear or coldness, but anger. She feels bad feelings, a bad feeling which will lead her to hate this even more.
She greeted her teeth. "What do you mean?" Nina still asked it although she already has the answers.
His grins grew wider. Suddenly Kaname interrupts them. He attacks Rido's just recovered limbs again and again with invisible blade. Even she is close to Rido, Kaname's attack never touches her. The only thing reaches her is only Rido's blood. Nina quickly get away from that guy, even his blood makes her sick. After satisfied, Kaname throws that guy far away from Nina while he walks beyond Nina, shielding her again.
After silent for a while, he spoke, "That guy over there... was the one who changed the hunter's list of your parents." Kaname told him expressionlessly. "It made your parents kill the wrong person... and the person you parents killed was someone dear to Shizuka. That's why Hiou Shizuka killed your entire family."
She felt her chest hurt. Her entire body is trembling by anger and hatred. Her asthma is worsened each second. But it is nothing compare to the pin she felt in her chest right now. She always knows that pureblood is a being that will always toys up with human's life. That vision has changed a bit after she met Kaname and Yuuki. But she already forgot that not all vampires are as kind as them both. There is also a vampire like Yuuto in this world, or even worse than that noble vampire, just like the guy she faces right now.
That pureblood... Kuran Rido... is the worst vampire!
"You know... this, Kaname?" Nina hissed. Her teeth chattered. "You know all these and never told me?"
"Nina... I..." But Nina never listened to the rest of it. She already too focused on the guy meters away from her who is healing his entire damaged body.
Nina glares at him. Her eyes become sharper than before, like a falcon. Those amethyst eyes are full by killing instinct, something she never showed again for years; her grabs on her daggers gets tighter until her palms are bleeding. Her lips are closed but the veins on her neck appear: the sign that Nina is full of wrath right now.
"He... was the one who changed the list... my parent's list. He is... he is..." Her body, mind, and soul are quickly filled by hatred and rage. The daggers on her hold suddenly glows brightly like the sun.
Kaname turns around. He knows this glow, but doesn't attempt to run away from it, not even when he sees the daggers Nina is holding are slowly get absorbed by her palms. That weapon... that liquid metal get absorbed by her body, its every molecules flows through her veins: unites with every of her blood in her body.
In Kiryuu Nina's heart now, there is nothing but the will of killing. Nina's amethyst eyes suddenly go blank. Her expression is gone. There is one thing echoes in her head right now:
"Vampires... must be killed!"

Kaname tries to move but suddenly something come out of that blindly light, attacks right to him. Moved by his survival instinct, Kaname blocks her attack with his invisible barrier, but never moved a single step from where he is standing.
That thing is not only one, but numerous of them. They are coming out of the light, targeting Kuran Rido. This time, Kaname moves aside, let the things out of the light and attack his uncle. Like arrows, it all come out of one spot but attacks one specific target, not brutally attacks its surround, just like homing missiles. Rido who just recovered, avoid that attack as fast as he could with his imperfect body, left many wounds on his body, makes his wounds almost impossible to heal at the time.
Slowly the light is gone and on the place where the light used to be shining, there is a girl: a ten years old ordinary human girl whom Kaname knows way too well, but now the girl's expression is just like when he saved her from Yuuto's mansion.
Kaname frowns to see the metal wings on Nina's back. The furs of those wings, which look like needles, were the things that keep attacking Rido. Kaname sees himself when the needle's amount is recovering, back to its normal amount before being used to attacks Rido.
"Nina can activate the true form of anti-vampire weapon," Kaname concluded. "Just like... Kirina."
He remembers the random time in his long forgotten past. Seeing this kind of attack, with no mercy, attacks the target, is just like Kirina, the ancestor of Kiryuu family. After Kirina, the legend goes on, said that one of every generation of Kiryuu family will bear the true blood: the terrible power which rivalled the purebloods and uncontrollably. In this generation, Nina is the true blood, that's why Nina can mastered any weapon in short amount of time and now he witnessed that Nina can also fuse with anti vampire weapon, calls the true form of it and use it as the part of her won body.
This is why Kiryuu family has been called a living weapon since the war era.
In this battle, Rido attempts to repay her attacks. With his blood whip, he means to stroke through her heart. Kaname stops his attack by blocking it with snows barrier.
Rido hissed. Because of Kaname, he got distracted for a while, let tens of anti vampire's arrows pierced through his chest, severely injured him.
But Kaname doesn't feel his life presence gone, that mean... Rido managed to dodge the fatal attack. Fortunately, the attacks never stop that far. Although already injured Rido, Nina doesn't seems to be satisfied. She will never satisfied until she sees Rido dies herself. Her wing's furs turn wider and larger and begin to attacks Rido again.
It slice Rido's body mercilessly, from half to four parts and then slice it in eight parts, but unluckily, Rido once again, manages to dodge the fatal attack which targets his neck and chest.
Kaname was planning on letting that scene happens until Rido died there, when suddenly he smells strong blood scent in the air. Kaname turns to see Nina's veins are appear on her face, looks very clear on her pale face. The girls' back, on the place when the wings appeared, are bleeding. That metal wing is not appearing itself; it rips her skin and blood veins.
She is injured, badly, and worsened.
Then Kaname sees blood is coming out of her eyes, slowly, like tears. Her breathe also quicker and shorter as if she is in pain. That girl's state is worsened and she doesn't realize it.
When Kirina used the anti vampire weapon and went berserk, she didn't realizes her injured body until it was too late. Most likely, Nina will have the same ending. She will only stops when her power consume her body beyond her capacity and die.
Kaname quickly approaches her at her back only to be welcomed by Nina's sudden attack of defending. Her attacks on Rido stop all of sudden. Now her attention is fully on Kaname although she never turns to that pureblood.
The pureblood of Kuran stay still even when four tentacles comes out below that wings, torn her skin, makes her injury worse. Those tentacles pierce through Kaname's body: his legs, arms, abdomen, and stomach. Kaname, like Rido, manages to dodge the fatal attack. Fortunately, he manages to reach Nina before those tentacles injured him. Now the girl is in his embrace.
Nina gave no resisting, but her body feels like statue. Rigid. Kaname embraces her tighter. He can clearly smell blood all over her body.
"It's all right, Nina." Kaname whispered to her ear. "It's all right. You can rest now."
Silent. Kaname sees the wings on Nina's back and tentacles which pierced though him are disappearing like ashes. Then a pair of daggers appears on Nina's back. Kaname pull them off from Nina's back slowly, doesn't put any care to the electric impulse he got when his vampire hand touches the body of those anti vampires weapon. He throws those weapons away and embraces her even tighter. He turns the girl's body and face the expressionless Kiryuu Nina. Blood is still left on her cheeks.
Slowly, lights back to her eyes. "Ka...na...me..." Nina whispered weakly before closes her eyes and fainted in Kaname's arms.
Kaname sink her in his arms. He looks in pace until he senses another presence behind him. His eyes glows red crimson. A wall of ice is shielding him all of sudden when an anti vampire weapon sword attack him from behind. The snow walls melt away, drop the anti vampire sword onto the snowy ground. Kaname turns, faces the half recovered body of Rido.
Rido grins to Kaname when he sees the girl in his embrace. "So the rumour is true... the true blood of Kiryuu. It really exists." He laughs. "I really want her now..."
"Rido," Kaname's voice sounds threatened. "I will never let a dirty being like you; touches her." An enormous aura suddenly comes out of Kaname's body again. "Sleep well again, Uncle."
His eyes glow even redder. The snow behind him suddenly blows up, sending earth quake which startles the inhabitant of Kuran mansion.

"Kaname Onii-sama! Nina!" Yuuki approaches them both. She gasped in horror when she sees Nina on Kaname's arms. She can feel Nina's heartbeat is getting slower and slower. Her breath is fading away slowly. "Onii-sama, Nina is..." Yuuki can't bear the rest of that sentence. The reality already hit her heart.
Both of them know Nina is dying. Nothing, no one can save her, even Kaname. There is several ways, actually, but none of that will keep Nina as normal as she now. Her life will change forever.
Kaname silently looks at Nina's sleeping face. That girl looks paler than ever. He can clearly sense the life is faded away from her body slowly. It is his fault that Nina became like this. If he moved quicker, Nina can be saved. Now there is no way he can save Nina without being hated by this girl, except...
Suddenly Kaname licks her blood which left on his cheeks. He licks until it all clean while closing his eyes like he enjoys it himself.
"Onii-sama, what are you doing?" One thought crossed in her mind. "Could it be... you want to—
"She will be alive. She had to be alive." Kaname simply answered before bites his own right wrist; suck his own blood as mush as he could before slowly crashed his lips with Nina's.

Strangely, Nina feels warmth among the coldness that wraps her up right now. Slowly, that warmth embraces her; overwhelms her body. It feels so peaceful. Give her energy she need.
Now she can sense again. Her skin senses a warm breath on it, on her face. Nina feels something is flowing in to her mouth. She gulps it. And it feels like...
Iron.
She opens her eyes slowly and almost gets heart attack when she sees what's going on with her.
Nina never sees Kaname's face this close. The scent of snow and Kaname's body filled her nose. His hair looks darker than she ever remembers, and looks soft too, like mistletoe's leafs. The hair smells like rose and if she can moves her body, she wants to touches it, feels the softness of his hair between her fingers.
Nina feels the softness of Kaname's lips around hers. It's surprising, indeed, but she has no will to resist it. She even doesn't know how to describe what she is feeling right now. It is something new for her, but she believes Kaname has his own reason for it. She is just silently lays in his arms.
When Kaname pulls back from her, Nina still can't think properly and the first thing she wants to know is why Kaname kissed her like that. She stares at Kaname, sees guilty on it and many bad feelings come across her mind.
"Kaname... what did you...?" She takes breath one time. No pain.
She touches her chin to see blood still left on it. Kaname's blood. Now she thinks about it, could it be... he gave her his blood to heal her? She used to hear that the little amount of pureblood's blood can heal the disease and wounds, that if the receiver doesn't die because of that poison beforehand.
But it doesn't mean Kaname was definitely used his blood to heal her. "What was... that for?" Nina asked suspiciously.
"Healing you," he answered her with the most possibility that across her mind. Nina supposed to be happy and relieved, but saw the sorrow on his face, Nina never calm down.
She tried to ask him more. "Kaname... what happened? Where is... Rido?" Nina asked weakly. "Why... I fainted here?"
Kaname successfully hide his shock to see Nina doesn't remember anything due to her rampage point just now. Suddenly she frowns like in pain.
"It hurt..." she complained. "My body..."
"Rido attacks you." Kaname lied to her. He couldn't let this girl know the truth about her. It was too horrible for a ten years girl like her to carry such burden. "You fainted because of loss too much blood."
Nina looks at his bloody cloak. "Kaname... you get hurt?" she asked again, full of worry.
"It's nothing." Kaname answered and then strokes her cheeks gently. "You have to rest now."
"Kaname Onii-sama, what do you think you did just now?" Yuuki suddenly snapped, exclaimed her presence to Nina who can barely feel any presence around her.
Nina turns her gaze to Yuuki, sees the pureblood looks so anxiety and panic. "Okaa-sama... what's wrong?"
"Kaname Onii-sama, you can't just bind her to you!" Yuuki snapped again. "You can't marry her like that! It's not fair for her!"
That's the last thing Nina can hear before her head throbs, takes her consciousness in an instant.

Thanks God! Now there is only one chapter left for this arc and then we will continue the main plot. Sorry if this arc make you bored or if it's too long for only a flashback. I just can't hold myself from writing this arc and every detail in it. And in this chapter, I give you the reason why this story it given title: Blood and Dagger. Blood is the symbol of Kaname: a vampire. And dagger is symbol of hunters, which I took from Nina's first weapon. What do you think? Let me know what do you think through reviews and PM okay?

For myra k kuran: Sorry for placing your re:review at the bottom place because your question need more explanation since I changed it a bit in this story. All right, here we go!
In this story, I made Yuuki and Kaname five years older than manga and anime universe. That mean... Nina is five years younger than them both. Even Zero and Ichiru are five years older in here.
The incident that killed Yuuki's parents happened five years ago, in the same year as Nina's birth. That time Yuuki is five years old, for Kaname... since no one ever told how old he was, let's say that he is about thirteen or fourteen years old at that time.
So, when Nina came to their house, Yuuki is ten already, and Kaname is well... about eighteen. Their appearances just like in Yuuki's past in anime season 1. Okay, I think about it: Yuuki is too young to be called mother and the way she acted was like the adult. That's why I labelled this story as "may be OOC". Since we never seen Yuuki so mother-like figure in anime and manga universe, I made her like it because of their poor condition without parents. I want to make her had strong bond with Nina so... yeah you know what I mean.
Nina when her parents were killed was... five years and one day (yeah, she lost her parents only a day after her fifth birthday). When she was in Kaname's mansion, was two days after her parent's death. When someone caught her to Yuuto, has been three days. And when Kaname saved her, it's been two weeks since Kiryuu family's death. Since then Nina is being trained by Seiren, until the end of chapter... it's been nine months. So, Nina in that chapter (until the end of the chapter) is five years nine months and fourteen days old, and now we added five years more to Nina's age.
I know most of you may be thought why Nina can act so old on her early life? But hey, just imagine if you were in her position, you have to be tough no matter what. You have to stand all by yourself because no one will give you a hand. That is why I made her stronger and tougher in the future.
And about how Yuuki survived, let's say that Kaname succeed of making Rido dyed and pushed him to recover until ten years later when Nina is ten years old (Yuuki is fifteen years old in this chapter). But since the council had known about Yuuki, Kaname had no choices but became their pet. But Kuran Kaname is not loyal pet to anyone as we all knew.
Did Yuuki and Kaname engage? The answer is no. Kaname is not being engaged to anyone in this story, so Nina is not the third person in Kaname X Yuuki relationship.
