Well this is it guys, the final chapter. I think it's time we put this story out of its misery huh? :) Thanks for the support, here is chapter 21.

Chapter 21

It had been two months since Wally had rejoined the team. The team had been supportive and welcoming and soon enough, he was starting to warm up to himself again. He even found the courage to talk to Black Canary and found himself some help. Things were getting easier and even his guilt lessened a little each day.

A week after he rejoined they'd let Wally back out on patrol, he stopped a robbery in four seconds flat. It felt like nothing had ever happened. Like he could still be a hero. Artemis was let out of the Med Bay a few weeks after Wally had returned. She wouldn't be allowed to patrol for awhile which frustrated her. However, she could at least boss everyone around more like before, which was pretty fun for her to do. Everyone had settled back into their routines, nothing was the same but it was more understanding and patient than it had been before. It was different but it was a good different. Everything seemed to be fixed...except Roy.

Roy was still in bad shape from the battle and had barely even twitched a finger since he had arrived. He was in a coma now. It had been a few months. Wally visited him every day, his guilt was overwhelming but Roy would have just yelled at him if he blamed himself. He knew that, Roy would be telling him that blaming himself wasn't going to fix anything. That it was a waste of time...and deep down Wally knew that. He knew it wouldn't fix anything, but still..

Wally had brought flowers the first day he came back. He'd laughed at the silliness of it, Roy would make fun of him for that. Bringing him flowers, it really was dumb. It wasn't Wally's style or Roy's. But Wally felt he needed some tangible way to apologize. Words just weren't enough. So he decided to visit him every day. He would talk to him, explain how everything was going. He even told Roy about his new relationship with Artemis. He'd have long conversations about it. Roy would definitely be teasing and threatening him at the same time.

The team would leave him be when he was in there. They knew it was a way to fix his own guilt for all that had happened.

Wally sighed, "Artemis ran over my foot with her wheelchair. Her leg is gonna heal up fine but if she keeps rolling over my foot I'm not sure mine will heal." He explained to Roy while he laughed. "Oh I made a 15 layer sandwich today." He smiled proudly. "I ate the whole thing too, I know that always disgusted you but then you'd laugh every time." Wally smiled at the thought. He sighed and stared at Roy's motionless body. He never expected it to be this bad. Wally looked down and put his head in his hands, he didn't look up as the door opened.

Dick gave him a little pat on the back. "Hey." He said as he sat next to Wally. "Mind if i join you?" He asked.

Wally looked at him, "Go ahead...Hey Dick...I really screwed him up, didn't I?" He asked quietly.

"Nah. He'll pull out of it, you know he will. It's Roy. He won't let go this easy, he knows how to feel the aster." He smiled lightly at Wally.

Wally smiled back, "Yeah.." He nodded and looked back at him. He looked back at Roy. He stood up, "What if he dies Dick? He's like family."

Dick shook his head, "Wally, he won't."

"It's been months. He should've come out of it by now." He mumbled.

"Maybe he is ignoring us. We do annoy him at times." Dick laughed.

"Damn right."

"Geez Wally you didn't have to-" Dick looked at him. Wally stopped him quickly.

"That wasn't me." He looked suddenly at Roy, as did Dick.

"Roy?" Wally asked hesitantly.

Roy opened up his eyes slowly, groaning. "Shut up, you two." He grinned.

"You're awake!" Dick grinned.

"Have been for a few days now, Red Tornado and Black Canary told me to keep resting and not to overexcite anyone. They still were figuring out the damage now that I'm awake."

Wally looked away again, "Walls, come on. I'll be fine. It'll take me awhile to get back on my feet but they've given me the okay. I'll be okay. A few lumps and bruises but the worst is over man. For both of us." Roy said seriously.

Wally looked at him and finally smiled. "Yeah, I guess it is."

Dick put his hand on Wally's shoulder, "Hey, it can only go up from here. I know it's corny but-"

"Dick's right. Look Wally, we've both been through hell and back this past year but it doesn't have to be what moves us forward. I'm not blaming you and I know nothing I could say could compare with what you've said to yourself. So let's just leave the past there." He looked at them both. "It's time to move on." Dick nodded and looked at Wally.

"You're right." Wally nodded.

"Let's all move on from here." Roy said looking between them both.

"I'll do whatever it takes to make things better. To make it right." Wally said certainly.

"You already have, bro." Dick grinned at the two.

And that's it! The end of the story! I don't have to keep you all in suspense anymore! Thanks to everyone who followed the story, reviewed, favorited, and kept up with it. It means the world to me! You're all the best!
