AN: We're going to focus on the other characters on this chapter before we turn our attention back to Chase, Marshall, and Ryder. One of the things I try to do with these stories is not always focus on the main characters and want to let the others get attention as well. I did that with the first story, Marshall Gone Missing, and I'm doing it now. I know some people want to cut to Everest but I'm not showing her for a long time so you'll have to hold on that.

Disclaimer: I don't own Paw Patrol

Act 2 Part 6: Surprise Attack Pt 3

If Skye had to be perfectly honest with herself, she hated violence with a passion. If it was within her power, she wouldn't fight or kill anyone or anything, even the wolves. However, when she saw the destruction and death spreading by the violence hounds who had were targeting any human they could get their teeth on she knew she had to kill. Her machine guns roared as she fired upon a set of wolves threatening a family near the edge of town, their house burning to ashes. The M61 Vulcan's turns the wolves into mincemeat in seconds. Muttering an apology, she shined her helicopter light on the family before yelling, "Head to the center of town! There is shelter and protection there! Go now!"

The family quickly made for their nearby car and drove direction Skye told them. They were the fifth family she had rescued that far, while others were already fleeing on route or were too late to save. Ideally, Paw Patrol did their best to save everyone, but there were some scenarios where you couldn't do that. The first time had been during a hurricane in Adventure Bay, where seventeen people had died. The entire team had been in a slump for two weeks before Ryder convinced them that it wasn't their fault. They weren't super pups, they couldn't save everyone sometimes.

Still, it drove the team to train harder so that they could save as many as possible, even if they couldn't save them all. Skye overlooked the disaster that was before her and shook her head; forcing tears back behind her eyes. Why would they do this? I don't understand. I don't think there is any reason for doing such horrible acts.

Flying closer to the city, she noticed one human family in front of their house despite it being on fire. She focused her goggles and noticed they were frantic looking, with the older man trying to yell at someone in their house. Gazing forward, she noticed a little girl was trapped in her room, hanging her head outside the window while the first was spreading from the roof. "Oh no!"

Lowering her chopper, Skye got the attention of the family as she yelled, "Don't worry! I'll get her out!" Rising back up to the level of the roof, Skye positioned the lower end of her chopper above the fire and barked. "Arf! Water bombs!"

Pressing a button, a hidden panel under her helicopter opened and blue metal spheres released themselves on the fire. Upon contact they burst, and water sprayed everywhere, lowering the flames intensity and weakening it. It didn't finish he fire, but it was enough to give Skye time to save the girl.

Lowering her harness, she got as close to the window as possible. "Strap in and hang on!"

The girl reached out, nearly missing it the first time, but the second time she managed to reach for it and strapped in. She yelped as Skye dragged her out of her home, but that soon earned to joyful laughs as she was lowered into her fathers' arms. The family hugged each other in relief before waving at Skye who smiled and saved back. An explosion nearby alerted her that more people needed to be saved.

"Head to the center of town! You'll be safe there!" Skye said before flying off. "I hope everyone else is doing okay."

Rubble was starting to see why Ryder had been offered multiple military offers despite his age. Even in a battle, the young genius could still prepare a plan and a defense in such a short time that Rubble wondered if his owner was related to that Art of War guy Rocky explained to him. Using his bulldozer, Ruble was able to surround the area with snow walls while Ryder used Marshall's firetruck to freeze them into an ice barrier. He told Rubble and Jake to keep the area protected at all costs, no matter what, before heading out to arm Chase and Marshall.

Pretty soon, people were running over for protection, even a few law enforcement arrived to help keep calm. They weren't happy at first that a pup and stranger were in charge, but they quickly shut up when the crowds got bigger.

"Come on! Get in the hotel! Move it! Move it!" shouted Rubble from his rig as more and more people began crowding around the area. Jake and William were assisting while Mr. Cross was doing his best to try and convince the crowd to not break anything. Keyword trying.

"Mr. Rubble! I hope the mayor intends to pay for the damages this… this… mob has done to my beloved hotel!" Mr. Cross shouted, his face turning purple with rage.

"Look at this way, boss! You got that bigger turn out you wanted!" William joked, earning him a glare from his employer.

"WOLVES!" someone shouted, alerting everyone of the upcoming danger. The crowds screamed in panic as they started pushing each other for safety, some even nearly trampled in the chaos.

Rubble drove his truck to the only opening and saw that several wolves were rushing towards them down the main street. Jake, and the few other armed residents, took position on the walls. "Rubble, charge forward and scatter them! We'll pick them off from here."

"Rubble on the double!" the bulldog shouted as he put the paw to the pedal.

Even though his rig wasn't the fastest vehicle compared to ones like Chase and Zuma's it was still a powerhouse. Snow kicked up before its wheels as he narrowed his eyes. The wolves nearly skirted to a half upon seeing the yellow vehicle heading towards them. While a good portion were able to get out of the way, those in the middle were instantly run over or toss into the air by the dangerous blade. Bones were crushed, limbs were broken, and blood colored the snow. Rubble had his eyes closed to keep himself from seeing their crushed bodies in an order to not vomit. Even if they were scary wolves trying to eat him, and others, he couldn't help but feel sorry for them.

The wolves, outraged upon seeing their clan mates dead, were about to charge when a volley of gunfire hit some of them, causing their heads or side to blow open. Jake and the others continued to open fire in order to give Rubble as much cover as possible.

Rubble himself, however, realized he was trapped between the two groups of wolves that he had divided. His vehicle wouldn't kick up speed fast enough, but, fortunately, he had another weapon. "Claw!" Rubble shouted, activating the claw behind him. Spinning his bulldozer, the claw swiped around, knocking more wolves into the snow, up in the air, or against nearby cars and walls. Some of the hooks managed to even pierce their fur and killed them instantly.

Between the big yellow terror, and the constant gun fire, the wolves decided to cut their losses and scattered. Cheers arose from the sanctuary that made Rubble howl in celebration. "Man, I can't wait to tell the others about-"

And explosion nearby made Rubble turn towards the direction of where it came and he gulped. "I have a bad feeling about that."

"Look, I'm just trying to help you. You don't need to-"

"Liar! I know you wolves want to kill us! Get away! Haven't we lost enough because of you!" a wide-eyed man shouted, waving a lead pipe in his hand.

Rocky sighed in frustration. He and Zuma had been working together to help get the word out about a safe place for residents. Unfortunately, because of his mixed breed look, and the grey fur, more then one human accused him of being a wolf. Some even nearly shot at him. Currently, he was trying to get this human trapped in his car to come out, but his crazed expression told Rocky that wasn't happening.

"Look, I'm not a wolf! I'm a dog! I'm here to help you! My name is Rocky and-"

"Shut up! I don't care what you are! If you're not human I'm not trusting you!" he screamed before smashing his own car window and crawling through. Rocky watched with a raised eyebrow as the human ran in the opposite direction, screaming for others nearby to get the hell out of his way. Sighing, Rocky shook his head at the fool. He would go after him, but he had to take care of the others nearby.

"Alright! Like I said, everyone heads to the center of town! There is shelter and protection there! Move!"

Nodding, the humans began to walk or run down the street. Zuma, in his hovercraft, parked nearby. "Yo, Wocky! I cleared the next street over. We can move on to the next."

Nodding, Rocky walked over to his truck and got in. Sighing, he scratched his ear and turned to his best friend. "Let's check up with Rubble and Jake. We can see if-"

"Come in! Come in! Anybody on his frequency! This is an emergency!" came a voice on the radio of their vehicles.

Rocky pressed his receive button and spoke, "This is Rocky of Paw Patrol. What's the emergency?"

"This is Adrian Hallows of the Mayor's Office! We got wolves inside the building and we're losing men! The mayor is still inside! Send back up! Now!"

The sound of gunshots echoed before the feed went dead. Zuma and Rocky looked at each other before punching the gas and heading straight for the Mayor's building. While driving, Zuma activated his pup tag for his owner. "Wyder, this is Zuma. We just a call from the Mayor's place! They're under attack by wolves!"

"I know, I heard it too. I'm almost at Chase and Marshall's location. You and Rocky head over there and do what you can. We'll join you soon after!"

"Woger!" Zuma replied, cutting the call. "I hope we can get there in time!"

Before Rocky could answer, a huge explosion in the distance echoed in their ears. Looking up they saw a burst of flame erupt from the distance of town. "Uhh, isn't that the dwection of Snow's base?" asked Zuma.

Snow felt flattered that the Bloodnight pack were sending so many wolves to try and kill him. He was touched, truly. Which was why his thanks was given in the form of headshot after headshot. Vera was right there with him, delivering her own rewards.

"I think these wolves have an obsession over you, Old Dog. They just keep coming," Vera shouted, pulling the trigger before reloading.

"Well, I was quite the stud in my younger days!" Snow chuckled before firing another shot. There were now huge piles of dead wolves getting bigger and bigger, leading him to wonder if they were hoping to build a big enough ramp to get him.

"Um… Snow?"

Snow's eyes widened as Vera called him by his real name in such a tone that it made him worry. Turning around, he saw his partner looking down with worry. "What?" he walked over to the other side and gasped. "Where the hell they get that?!"

A truck was heading right towards them, but it wasn't just any trunk. It was your typical gasoline truck with a wolf doing his best to control it in the driver's seat. Not that he wasn't doing a great job, the way the truck kept swerving, yet it still was heading straight for them. He didn't know how or where the wolves learned about gasoline or how to drive a truck but those were thoughts for later. Aiming his rifle, he fired and a bullet went right through the eyes of the driving wolf, killing it instantly. However, the truck continued to launch itself forward.

Cursing, Snow shouted, "Explosive round! Arf" as his pack opened up a special magazine that it clip into the sniper rifle. Aiming, he fired one round at the gasoline tank. The moment it connected, an explosion echoed across the area, its flaming cloud heading upwards towards the sky. However, the damn truck still didn't stop and crashed into the side of the building, rocking the two back as they struggled to stay on.

"You okay?" Snow asked.

"Yeah, peachy," Vera grumbled as she looked down and saw the flame spreading across the building. "Uh, Old Dog?"

"Yeah, I know," Snow growled, realizing they were now trapped on a burning fire. "Shit. I am too old for this."

From a distance, the wolves watched with satisfaction as the flames continued to spread hire.
