Chapter 19: fresh start

Yuki POV:

Sara had this crazy idea of going away with her for the weekend but yet somehow it just wasn't so crazy to me. It actually, well, it seemed kinda wonderful if you ask me. Living on Campus is great and all but you don't ever really get a break from school. You see or socialize with your class mates if they haven't left for home and patrol for crazy fan girls. Don't get me wrong i love being a Guardian but sometimes it's nice to just kick back and relax, to just be able to get up and leave. Everyone here has a home away from home experience while this is my home. There is no visiting family because my family is right here on Campus, so there's also no excitement to tell them about what happened at school because they were there.

Getting away from the school seems almost like a vacation because the only time i leave is field trips or visits to the small nearby town. I almost felt like a little kid as i anxiously awaited to leave the Academy grounds. Besides the appeal to leave the school without Zero and for other than errands i also wondered about Sara's life. Not only was she a Vampire, and a powerful one at that, but she was like royalty. I couldn't help but imagine a palace awaiting our arrival. Her life was so much different than mine and i was going to get a taste of that life this weekend.

Sara POV:

The morning couldn't pass fast enough for me. Today was the start of not just my plans for Yuki, but also for maybe some sort of bonding as well, away from school and all the distractions. I couldn't help but feel a little anxious as well because a human in a house full of vampires was like bringing a hen into the wolves den. Of course being a Pureblood sure had it's advantages at times like these but that made it all the more trickier. Sure i coiuld warn them all that she is not to be touched or harmed but even among vampires there are those who break the rules.

Not to mention if she wanders off on her own and the fact that we keep different schedules might be tricky. That along with the questions i will jo doiubt have tok answer about her. Most wil assume she is some kind of toy there for my poleasure and amusement and will treat as such and i can't have that happen either. Sighing i shake those thoughts from my head, i will just have to deal with those problems when they arise. We quickly pack our bags and load them but of course the ever annoying Headmaster just has to delay us with his stupid lunch idea. Talking some nonsense about not traveling on an empty stomach.

To me the meal is painfully slow and no matter how fast i eat i can't make them eat any faster. There's little to no conversation going on and thankfutlly the awkward meal its soon over and done with. Grabbing Yuki's hand in mine i yank her to the door quickly pulling my scarf around my head and my sunglasses over my eyes. Throwing the door open i pull her along before her idiot of a father can waste any more of our precioius time with more of his sob filled goodbyes. When me make it a fair distance i slow my pace and pull my phone out letting the driver know we're ready.

As he opens the door i allow Yuki to slide in first and then follow after her. Realizing i had her hand this whole time i let go of it awkwardly but she doesn't seem to mind. We have nothing to really talk about and seeing as it's my night time i close my eyes for part of the ride.

Yori POV:

It didn't take long for my ride to get here and for us to head oiut ahead of Sara and Yuki. There was no gaurentee that Kaname was right about there destination but it was a start. The reason we left ahead was so we wouldn't arouse suspicion if they saw us behind them, beacuase we would have already been farther than the Academy when they spot us.

This is going to be one tricky mission that is for damn sure. Shaking my head i close my eyes for awhile letting the skilled driver do his job. I have already told him the our plans to follow them and the directions if wee lose them. I have also told him whatthe vehicle looklike and it's occupants. This should go off without a hitch if lady luck is on our side today.

Well as it turns oiut she really was on our side because half an hour later the sky just opened up and the rain hasn't stopped since. The weather so bad you can barely see the guy in froint of you let alone the one following you. Thunderstorms just so happen to be my new favorite kind of storms, thats only if we make it safely though.
