As the night went on, Milton, Jack and I were laughing while making several jokes. The thought of my disappearance didn't come up for the rest of the night which I was beyond thankful for.
"Okay, so nothing gets me more than embarrassing stories. Milton, share." I grinned while poking into my pasta.
Milton took a sip of water, "Alright, so when I was younger I was playing on the playground with a few of my friends. During recess, we had playground monitors and there was this lady who had a fairly large stomach. My friends and I would constantly ask each other if she was pregnant and one day we decided to ask her. Naturally, I was chosen to ask her so when I did, she narrowed her eyes at me and awkwardly said no. I poked her stomach and asked if she was sure and well that was fairly embarrassing."
I laughed a bit, "I can't believe you did that."
"Milton what were you thinking?" Jack exclaimed.
"After that I tried to convince her that she was actually pregnant…" Milton trailed off.
"Of course you did." I shook my head while smiling.
After a while, Jerry and Grace walked to our table, "You guys still aren't finished?" Grace asked.
"These servings are fairly large." I pointed out.
"Well that's why you guys just share." Jerry said as if that was the most genius idea ever.
"Just grab a seat and help us finish our food." Jack told them.
They took some nearby chairs and sat down. I leaned towards them and gave them a smile, "So? How did it go?"
Jerry and Grace looked at each other and smiled. They lifted their arms to the top of the table showing us that they were holding hands.
Mission complete.
"I'm so happy for you guys!" I praised them.
"Way to go man!" Jack patted Jerry.
"I feel like a third wheel." Milton announced.
I laughed, "Milton, I'm pretty sure Jack and I did a good job not making you feel like a third wheel tonight."
He nodded in agreement, "That's true."
"Why don't you set Milton up next?" Jack suggested.
"Wait, you planned this?" Grace asked me, raising her eyebrow.
I looked away feeling guilty, "Yeah…"
Grace nudged me, "You could have told me! I wouldn't have mind."
"Would you? That would also spoil the surprise." I replied.
She shrugged, "What's done has been done."
The five of us went on and on discussing all sorts of things. There was occasional teasing and a bit of gossip, since teens really couldn't resist.
"This has been the best night out I've had in a while." Grace declared as we left the restaurant.
I nodded in agreement, "Definitely."
"We should do this more often." Jack suggested.
"Yeah, I'm up for it. After Milton gets a date that is." Jerry teased.
"Jerry!" Milton exclaimed.
"Don't worry Milton, I'll find you someone." I promised him.
After we all said our goodbyes, we parted ways. Grace decided she would be leaving with Jerry and Milton left on his own. That left Jack and I.
"How about we go to my house for a movie?" Jack took my hand.
I grinned, "Sounds nice. I'll meet you there."
In a way, I felt the trip to Jack's house was a small competition on who could get there faster (without over speeding of course).
Turns out Jack beat me there.
"Beat you." He smiled as I got out of my car.
"You live here, of course you would know a few short cuts along the way." I stated.
Jack shrugged, "I still won, let me have my glory, Kim."
I rolled my eyes, "You're such a child."
"Yet you somehow want to be with me." Jack grabbed my hand.
"Unfortunately." I laughed
We walked to the front of his house and surprisingly, I was actually greeted by Max.
"Kim, you look ravishing."
"Wow, you're using some real big words there." I replied.
Max laughed, "I try."
Jack brushed passed Max quickly, "Stop trying to hit on her."
"Don't worry, I'm not longer interested." Max told him.
Jack led me to the entertainment room which was located downstairs. There was a TV mounted on the wall and a huge comfy couch.
"This is like a home theater or something." I commented.
"We try to make it cozier though." Jack replied. He walked towards his DVD cabinet searching for a good movie to watch, "What do you want to watch?"
I shrugged, "We could watch a Disney movie, do you have any?"
Jack turned around and gave me a look, "Of course I do, Kim."
"In that case, lets watch a classic princess movie." I smiled.
"You're not making me go through all of that." Jack protested.
I pouted, "Please?"
"We're watching Cinderella though."
"Fine."
Honestly, I was pretty happy with Cinderella. She's one of my favourite princesses so far. As the movie started, I leaned on Jack's shoulder while he put a blanket over us.
"You know, Kim, I'm glad you came into my life." Jack said.
My eyes were glued to the screen but I was listening to every word he was saying.
"I want you to know that you've actually made a pretty huge impact on my life." He continued.
"Really?" I asked.
He nodded, "I'm beyond grateful to have a person like you in my life."
"Jack…"
"I'm serious Kim. I started off as a person who was wimpy and scared to just take risks in relationships and fall in love. I knew they phrased it falling in love for a reason. I know why they called it a crush. I was scared of being in the position where I did nothing but fall and find myself hitting the ground. But when you were laying there on our dojo mats, I knew that there was something about you. Something about you that I was actually drawn into. I wanted to know more about you and who you were. What you liked, what your passions are. In the beginning I was hoping that we would just be friends and you could help me find someone suited for me. What I didn't know is the person who was right for me was in front of me the entire time. Kim, I-I love you."
Just like that my heart swelled up, "Jack."
"I know it's still soon for I love you but I honestly mean it, Kim. I can't bare to lose you and I know I've said a million times. In fact I know it's extremely selfish of me but I really don't want to see you leave."
I really tried not to cry during this. I refused to accept the fact that I could lose Jack, someone I really did care about. It didn't matter if people thought if this relationship would last or not. It didn't matter if people only consider this young love. Nothing else mattered. The only thing that matters right now is me trying to stay and not leave all these people behind.
I buried my face into his shoulder, "I don't want to either."
One more chapter and one more epilogue left! Woah. YES FOR CINDERELLA HAHA.
Let me know what your favourite Disney princesses are :) I'm completely serious.
