HEYHEY! Konnichiwa, minnah! I'm back, finally. Tee Hee.
Okie, this is the finally chappie for It's a Date. I'll leave the heart-wrenching rants for the end of this chappie...
And this will be a short one. I know it isn't nice to end with a short chappie, but yeah...
Please enjoy.
Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail, yeah?
Natsu slumped on the chair lazily. There was no one to talk to, and no one wanted to talk to him.
At least, not anytime soon.
Heaving a soft sigh, he lifted his cup down the drink, wiping away the residue with the back of his hand.
Mirajane refused to serve him, so he stood up and made his way to the counter. The crowd parted to let him cross, they were either too scared to obstruct his path or hated every fibre of his being.
It didn't matter either way.
"You're not going to apologise?"
Natsu assumed the person wasn't talking to him, and mutely, poured himself another cup of drink.
"Natsu."
He raised his head. "You're not ignoring me?"
"I won't." Lisanna shook her head. "You had a reason, right?"
Natsu smiled a brittle smile. "Do I?"
She sat down beside him. It had been a long time since anyone had. The seats beside him were always empty.
How strange it was...being alone.
Lucy had Jellal, and he had no one.
"Natsu..."
"I don't want to talk about it." Natsu interrupted her. "Alright? I screwed up. That's all. End of story."
He finished the cup angrily, and resisted the urge to smash the glass with his fist.
"You weren't like this." she said quietly.
Natsu remained silent. There was nothing to say.
"You were kind. Nice. A great friend who valued your nakama. What changed you?"
"Change is good. People change." he told her.
"Not all changes. You're different now."
"Am I?"
She placed a hand on his. "Natsu."
"Fine! I changed, alright? What do you want me to do? Go back to being the old dense, stupid Natsu?"
"You could try." she whispered.
He threw the glass on the floor, and Lisanna winced at the sharp shatter.
"What good is there? She's with him now. She's left me." he snapped. "Everyone has left me."
"Not me." she said softly. "Not me."
"You'll leave." he shook his head. "They all do, eventually."
"Natsu..."
"Igneel left." his voice was trembling. "My real parents left. Erza left."
"Natsu, look..."
"Lucy left. Gray left. Jellal, Elfman, Cana, Gildarts...they all left."
"I'm still here." she argued, before pulling his close, burying her face in his hair. "I'll never leave."
He didn't speak.
"Things will look up." Lisanna smiled, "Believe me."
There was hesitant silence. Natsu pulled away and looked shakily at her.
He flashed a small smile, and for a moment, he looked like the old Natsu she loved.
"Okay, I believe you."
【End】
It was unforgivably, pathetically short. I said. Sorry.
Please review.
Well. This is the end.
However crappy this story was, this is it. End of the line.
I would like everyone to know how much I've appreciated you guys.
To everyone who favourited, reviewed, followed, and most importantly, supported this little fic, thank you so much.
And to everyone who uncovered this crappy little story in a sea of others, thank you.
And to NekoNeNekoPUNE, thanks for being there since day 1.
So, this is goodbye...please continue supporting my other fics. (It's Complicated will be ending soon too)
Last note, on the question of a sequel, I can't say when it will be up. It'll be Erza-centered, because Erza deserves a happily-ever-after as well. I'll notify everyone when it's up, yeah?
I'm really sad, and perhaps, a little relieved to let this fic go. It'll be weird to stop updating...hmm...
So...
R&R, and...
Cheers, everyone. It's been an fun and awesome time.
