Pigtails feel weird wen ur dancing with them...

No One's POV

Shade was sitting in the garden, taking a sip from the cup in front of him. He sighed and started to think things over, trying to figure out how to get over Rein. Being with her means extermination! I can't let her live! He thought again. But if it was like that, why did I choose her in the first place?

Shade thought about when he was given a list of worthy queens to choose from when he was young. Out of the dozens of girls he saw, none interested him. But that was until a photo slipped out at the very back. A picture of her when she was around four. He heard the rumors of her, about how she was a half demon, but Shade wanted to see for himself. When he reached her castle, what he saw was a little girl. One who laughed, smiled, frowned. She was... Shade couldn't find the word to describe her but he knew she was the one and he chose her.

Who would have thought that he was the one who had to kill her?

Shade pushed the thought away and sipped the last of his tea. Once he was done, a guard ran over to him and bowed.

"Prince Shade, we have captured the demon." He stated as a matter-of-factly. "She's being taken to the dungeon now." Shade shot up and ran towards the gate. The doors opened up and Shade saw Bright get off first, which surprised Shade. He didn't know Bright had also gone. Following behind him were two guards, and in the center of the two was an unconscious blue haired princess.

Rein! Shade thought as he stared at her in disbelief. The guards dragged her legs carelessly across the floor. It looked as though she had been partially beaten on her way here, but Shade couldn't tell. The scene caused a crowd of servants to peak in, wanting to know what was happening.

"Princess Rein!" Shade heard the voice of an old woman call.

"Princess Rein-pumo!" The tiny creature next to her called. They tried to get close to Rein but they were stopped, or at least Camelot was. Poomo didn't hesitate to fly around and landed on Rein's shoulder, trying to wake her up. But someone grabbed his tail and yanked him off of Rein's shoulder. So all he could do was watch as she was helplessly dragged towards the Kingdom's dungeon.

Shade watched as they disappeared around the corner of the castle. After a couple more minutes of staring, everyone got back to their regular business, gossiping about what happened. It won't be long before it spreads to the other kingdoms. Shade thought. He turned to a guard and ordered, "Tell the other kingdoms." He nodded and was off. Shade adjusted his coat and walked towards his room.

As he walked by, Shade noticed the forced smile on all the servants' faces. He knew that they were trying not to speak to each other about the incident, but kept quiet because he was in a bad mood. The path he took felt longer than usual. He just wanted to reach his room, rest, pretend all of it was a dream.

Shade opened the door to his room and flopped onto his bed. He flipped onto his back and placed a hand on his face. Maybe if I sleep, I can forget all about it. He shut his eyes and he was immediately fell into darkness. As he fell he could hear the sound of a crying girl. She whimpered, whispering something.

"Traitor. He was a traitor." She whispered over and over. Suddenly she shrieked, "I hate you!"

Suddenly Shade's eyes popped open and he looked around. It had gotten a little darker outside but other than that, nothing much had changed. I should go see her. He got up, changed his coat and opened the door. But before he left, he glanced at the sword that sat on his desk table. Ever since the day he chased Rein away, he has never even touched the sword. Not once.

He walked outside and shut the door, not even glancing back. Then he followed the path the guards took towards the dungeon. The main dungeon is usually where they kept all the prisoners but they also had a special dungeon for dangerous criminals. Shade assumed that that was where they'd taken her and walked into an old unused hallway. He pressed on a brick on the wall and a hidden stair case opened up. He stared into the pitch black and walked in.

The wall's were cracked and cobwebs littered the ceilings. Bugs scattered with every step Shade took and moss grew along some of the stone. Shade felt along the walls to guide his path. When he reached the bottom, he grabbed the lone torch on the wall and walked deeper in. It's been so long since I've been in here. Shade said as he covered his nose. The scent smelled like sweat and blood but it was bearable.

Shade looked at each cage he passed by. The people in there look like they had gone insane. Some of them were huddled in the corner, some were talking to themselves, and one even tried grabbed Shade but he scared him off with the torch. Cages also hung from the ceiling, rattling and shaking with skinny people. Some of the prisons even had skeletons in them.

Shade concentrated on looking for Rein's cell, trying to avoid looking at any others. He finally found her in the last dungeon. It was a bit smaller than the others but other than that it was the same. Strange liquids the color of black and green dripped from the ceiling and moss covered most of the floor. The stone was cracked and uneven and in a small corner was a bowl of water and something that looked like long expired bread.

Sitting in the center of it all was Rein. She was huddled with her arms hugging her body. Her head was buried in her knees. Shade could see some slash marks along her legs and some blood smeared her arms, but there was no cut. He called her name.

"Rein!" Shade called. He saw her flinch and cover her head while shivering. "It's just me Rein, calm down." Rein slowly lifted her head and looked at him. Now Shade could see her better. She looked miserable. She had red marks on her face and her hair was a complete mess. Dried blood stained a side of her mouth and her eyes were puffed out and red. She looked like an innocent child trapped inside a cage. Shade could definitely tell now that they had abused her while she was here.

Shade looked at the ground and said, "What do you want?" He could hear her voice shaking. Shade couldn't reply. What was he doing there? There was no reason to be there, and it just seemed to make things worse for Rein and himself.

"I just wanted... to let you know that we're still deciding what to do with you."

"Is that it?" She whispered. "You came here... to remind me... about my death?" Shade saw her quiver and felt even worse for saying that. He sighed. "Is that's all then go." She said as she looked at him again. Her eyes were full of fear and anger.

"Rein-"

"Get out!" She shrieked. She jumped up and clenched her fists and Shade could see the chains wrapped around her ankles. "I don't want to see your face here!" She shrieked again, her voice shaking a little this time. Even though he couldn't see it she knew she was crying. Her last words sliced his heart clean in half. "I hate you!" She screeched. "I hate you most in this world!" Shade almost dropped the torch but instead, he looked down and turned to walk back the way he came.

As he did, he could hear the light sobs of Rein echo through the dungeons.
