So this chapter... DRAMA!
Caution: The ending deals with some strong material, but I tried to make it be not too graphic, but I dont want to give anything away. If you want to skip it, go ahead, but like I said, it's not really graphic at all, it's mostly implied, but it still tells the story pretty damn good if i say so myself. :)
Just wanted to warn you so nobody can complain that I didn't warn you! Even though this is rated M for all that crap anyway.
Enjoy! Please R&R and that good stuff!

Chapter 20: Nightmare
Kendall couldn't sleep all night. For the past three nights he had fallen a sleep with the Latino beside him and had felt like nothing in the world could touch him, but now he felt cold and couldn't help, but think about those tears from earlier. He didn't know what had come over him. Those emotions had washed over him like a tsunami hitting without warning, crashing wave after wave. It took Carlos twenty minutes to calm him down enough before he was able to get Kendall into his truck to drive him home and as soon as they were away from the apartment the feelings were gone as if they were never there. Kendall couldn't explain it, even if he wanted to. He was happy again, riding down the road in the rusty old pick up with the Latino behind the wheel beside him. He couldn't think of a more perfect ending to a perfect weekend.
He was now regretting his lack of sleep as he trudged through the crowded halls of school Monday morning. He felt like he was in a daze, allowing the student body to push him through the endless routine of lectures, essays and problem solving until at last it was lunchtime.
There had been no sign of either fearsome brother all morning. Carlos' seat was vacant during chemistry and Kendall hadn't had the pleasure of being pulled into a supply closet all morning so he assumed James was still reenergizing and Carlos was taking care of him. Plus they still had Jett to deal with.
Kendall didn't have a chance to talk to the newcomer, but he felt a sudden sense of familiarity around him. It was similar to his feelings when he first met Carlos, only different. He didn't find himself wanting to be locked in a supply closet with him, but he felt he could trust him. There was also that strange occurrence between the three of them where Jett was transported into the vision with the two of them, which had never happened before, but then again, no one had ever been around when they had a vision. Kendall made a mental note to perhaps have Stephanie try to be apart of one. Not that he could control when they had a vision, but maybe that was something he needed to work on.
"Hey cous! Long time no see," Camille smiled slapping Kendall on the back as he leaned sleepily against his locker. "Where have you been all weekend?"
Kendall shrugged, "With Carlos," he answered with a sleepy grin until his answer hit him, waking him up, "I mean. We were working on that chemistry assignment. It's a big project. Worth thirty percent of our grade."
"Whoa! You spent the entire weekend at Diamond's place?" Dak asked joining in on the conversation as he and Jo joined in the conversation.
Kendall shook his head, "No, James wasn't home. He went to visit- a cousin out of town," he lied.
The blond stared at Dak who eyed him as if he knew he was lying. It was hard to look his friend in the eye after knowing everything he knew about him. He could still picture in his mind the brunette standing as equals beside the hazel eyed man who he now couldn't even speak his name without a venomous tone.
"That means the project is over with then?" Dak seethed, "You'll be sitting with us at lunch for now on?" Kendall nodded. For now at least it was the truth. Carlos wasn't at school today so there was no reason for him to sit at the other table, "Good. Let's go then," the brunette demanded, pulling Jo along towards the cafeteria. Camille and Kendall tagging behind. Kendall was slowly starting to see the similarities between Dak and the Clique's leader. Throw in the ability the brunette supposedly had and Dak could easily have been James' right hand man.
Kendall couldn't help, but glance over at the Clique's table as he walked into the cafeteria. Sure enough, Carlos' and James' seats remained empty. What he didn't expect was to see Logan and Katie's seats empty as well. Of course, Katie could be there for all he knew, being invisible and all and Logan was probably by James' side at the demand of the leader. Even in his weakened state he had freaked out when he awoke to find his bodyguard wasn't there to over see his healing process. Carlos had probably left Kendall's house and picked Logan up to bring him right back to the apartment.
"Hey," Kendall was pulled from his thoughts by a friendly voice from beside him. He looked over to see Stephanie had taken a seat beside him, "Have you heard from Los today?"
"Oh no," Dak spoke up, pointing his spork at the brunette female, "Who invited you?"
Stephanie simply ignored him as she pulled a pudding cup from her bag, opened it up and proceeded to eat it, "I've been texting him all day, but he hasn't returned any of them. Though I think something might be wrong with my phone. Mercedes touched it," she glared over at the table letting Kendall know the hidden meaning behind her words.
Kendall shrugged, "I haven't even checked," he answered honestly. He had been so tired he hadn't bothered to check the device. Pulling it out he couldn't help but smile at the amount of text messages the absent Latino had been sending him throughout the morning.
"Hello!" Dak was now leaning across the table waving his hand in between them until they gave them their full attention, "Last I checked, this freak belonged at the cult table."
"Dude, relax. She's cool," Kendall assured him receiving a glare in return.
"Yea I'm with him," she smiled innocently before glancing over his shoulder and reading through his messages, trying not to 'awe' out loud every time Carlos mentioned he missed him. Instead she pointed to the ones she thought were super adorable while Kendall bit his lip, trying not to blush as he read over a particularly personal message the Latino had mentioned about the two of them in a supply closet.
Kendall was typing out a reply when he noticed Camille and Jo starring at him from across the table, "Something wrong?" he asked the two who started giggling and mumbling to each other. He looked over at Stephanie who just shrugged before grabbing his cell phone out of his hand and started texting herself.
"Oh my god!" Camille said leaning over the table and gesturing her cousin to do the same, "Steph is the girl, isn't she?" Kendall raised an eyebrow in confusion. "The girl you're dating and you won't tell me who she is! It's so obvious!"
Kendall jumped back in defense with his hands in the air, "Whoa, no! No, no, no, no, no! Me and Steph are just friends."
"Huh?" Steph asked completely oblivious as she continued to text on Kendall's phone.
"They seem to have this crazy idea that you and me are dating."
Stephanie dropped the phone on the table before looking back and forth between the two girls and Kendall, "Me and him?" she finally said before cracking up laughing, "Oh my god that's the funniest thing I've ever heard! Me date him?"
"What's so funny about that?" Kendall asked suddenly.
"Can you really see us dating?"
"Of course not."
"Exactly. I mean I'm dating-" she stopped herself before she almost said the name of the college student she was seeing, "Logan and you are dating-"
"Some one else!" Kendall cut in shrugging.
"Right! Someone else!"
Dak sat back, his arms crossed over his chest as he glanced over to the table where only two out of the normal seven of the Clique were sitting, "Where is your boyfriend then?" he asked suddenly.
Stephanie looked at him before shrugging, "Not here."
"You seem concerned," Dak pointed out sarcastically.
"I'm not his babysitter."
"I suppose that's Diamond's job, right."
Stephanie glared at him as she finished typing up her last text before handing the phone back to Kendall, "Thanks for letting me use your phone. I'll see you in class," she grabbed her things before sticking her ear buds in her ears and walked across the cafeteria to join the other two girls at her normal table.
"Dude!" Kendall scoffed at the brunette.
"What? I'm just trying to protect you," Dak smiled smugly.
"You didn't have to be so rude. She's my friend."
"What ever man," Dak shook his head gathering his garbage as he stood up. "Don't come to me for help when Diamond is after you for messing around his best friend's girl."
"We're not dating!" Kendall said exasperated. "We're just friends!"
"Then why won't you tell us who you are dating?" Camille asked sadly.
Kendall sighed, "Because you all seem to have a problem with who I'm friends with. Who knows what you will do to someone I'm dating," he replied picking up his stuff before walking out of the cafeteria. He stopped at his locker and glanced down at his phone to find a new text from Carlos, smiling when he read the best news he heard all day, I'll pick you up after school.
Time seemed to stand still for the remainder of the day for Kendall. His afternoon classes were nothing, but a blur. All he could think about was the sight of the smile on the Latino sitting behind he wheel of that old rusty pick up truck up waiting for him in the parking lot. He didn't even care who saw him getting into it. He just wanted to jump in and slid right up next to him, put his arm around him, kiss his cheek, and cruise around town, just the two of them without a care in the world and no one to stop them. There's a premonition he could live with.
Unfortunately, it was only a daydream. His dream shattered, as he was one of the first to rush out the front door, smiling as he saw the Latino leaning against the front of the truck. Kendall's knee went weak as he took in his appearance from head to toe. He was wearing tight fitted black jeans that showed off every muscle in his backside and legs and a button down shirt opened revealing his well defined caramel chest and that tattoo that Kendall fell in love with over the weekend. The blond had all his strength not to run down to him and kiss him until their lips bled, but he held that in when his eyes locked with hazel starring at him from the passenger seat of the pick up.
Keeping a straight face, he made his way over to the Latino, nodding a hello at the brunette in the truck before turning towards Carlos, "Hey," he said coolly.
"Hey," Carlos lowered his sunglasses, smiling at the blond since his back was turned towards his brother. "You ready?"
"Sure," Kendall shrugged following him over to the driver side and sliding into the middle between the two brothers. He felt a bit uncomfortable beside a shirtless James, but with Carlos' thigh pressed up against his, he began to relax a little.
"Sorry it's so hot. Old truck. No air conditioner."
"It's fine," Kendall assured him, stealing another glance towards the open shirt that was obviously a result of the heat.
"It be nice if we had our own personal weatherman who could control the heat wave," James mumbled not bothering to look at either of them.
"I haven't exactly figured out how to work temperatures yet," Kendall apologized sarcastically. "I could try to make it snow, but white fluffy stuff falling from the sky in eighty degree weather wouldn't exactly be keeping it low key would it?"
Carlos laughed, "Man it's way too hot for October. Are you sure you didn't cause this? It wasn't this hot this morning." Kendall thought about it for a moment. He wasn't sure about anything anymore. He never noticed any major changes in temperature before, only weather pattern conditions like rain and snow. For all he knew he could be causing it.
"I don't know. Am I?" Kendall asked worried.
Carlos laughed, "I was joking," he said as he turned on the pick up and was about to pull out when James held up a hand.
"Wait a moment," he demanded. His voice was quiet and still a bit weak. Kendall assumed his energy hadn't been fully recovered from the previous day. His hazel eyes were trained on the double doors at the main entrance of the school. He watched for a few moments as crowds of teens pours out in droves until only stragglers remained coming out one by one. Finally he spoke up, his eyes never leaving the doors, "Where's Logan?"
Kendall raised an eyebrow before answering. "He wasn't in school today. I assumed he was with you."
James huffed, slamming his fist on the dashboard, "Damn it!"
"Did something happen between you two in Chicago?" Carlos asked quietly.
"I don't want to talk about it," James grumbled.
Carlos didn't push the subject. Instead, he threw the car in gear and pulled out of the parking lot.
James wasted no time getting out of the truck when they arrived back at the apartment, slamming the door behind him, leaving Carlos and Kendall alone. The two waited until the coast was clear before Carlos pounced on the unexpected blond, crashing their lips together with such force that it sent Kendall backwards until his was lying across the seat, the Latino on top of him. Kendall smiled into the kiss, his hands finding Carlos' bare hips while the Latino's fingers threaded into his blond locks.
"You have no idea how much I missed you today," Carlos breathed into his ear, nibbling his lobe before attacking his neck.
Kendall closed his eyes enjoying the feeling of Carlos' tongue running over his pulse point, his teeth grazing his skin lightly. Kendall's hands ventured over every piece of Carlos' back he can lay his fingers on, even daring to dip his finger tips into the hem of his jeans. The Latino encouraging him to venture further by rolling his hips down into the blondes, the friction causing both boys to moan out in pleasure. Kendall reciprocated the move, his hand cupping Carlos' face and pulling him to his lips once more.
A piercing scream tore through the air. Kendall opened his eyes to find himself surrounded by darkness. He heard movement around him, but it was too dark to see. Someone was whimpering, but he couldn't see who. He blinked his eyes trying to adjust to the darkness. He was finally able to make out three shadows in the large room, but he couldn't see their faces. From their figures, it looked to be two males and a female.
One of the males was standing in front of the other two, his head down cast as the other two looked down at him. The taller man took a swig from what Kendall assumed was a liquor bottle. He could smell the alcohol in the air. The man took another swig before he passed it over to the female who drank from it greedily. Words were being exchanged, but Kendall couldn't hear them.
He crept closer, slowly, his eyes beginning to adjust more clearly to the darkness. He could now make out the faces of the male and the female who were facing him. He glanced around the room. It looked oddly familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on it. His visions weren't exactly the clearest of pictures.
He heard another whimper and realized it was coming from behind him. He turned to see nothing, but a closet door. As he turned back, he thought he saw the smaller man look his way out of the corner of his eyes, but his head never looked up, he never moved. Then without warning, the women smacked him straight across the face so hard his head snapped in Kendall's direction and he got a clear view of his face. There was no mistaken those chocolate eyes.
He didn't bother to fight back as another jab came, this one from the man straight to his stomach. He bowed over in pain, but he refused to show it. The women fisted his hair and brought him up until his eyes were level with hers. She said something to him. He remained quiet and never even flinched as she spat in his face before shoving him to the ground, kicking him in the ribs with her stiletto heel.
Kendall wanted to run to him. He wanted to comfort him. Call out to him, but he knew it would be no use. He was a mere ghost in this world. He was useless. He couldn't even cry like he wanted to or leave on demand. All he could do was stand there and watch in horror as the boy allowed them to inflict such horrible pain without even trying to fight back.
It was all over with a toss of the empty bottle, smashing just above the battered man's head. The man and women left him broken and bleeding curled up in a ball on the floor as they stumbled out of the door without a second glance.
Logan lay there shaking and helpless for a moment as if he were waiting for them to return. When they didn't, he turned towards the door Kendall had noticed earlier and with what the blond assumed was the last of his strength, he held his hand up towards it. There was a soft click before the door spilled opened and Katie poured out. Her eyes were red as she rushed for her brother, holding his head in her lap. She whispered into his ear as she held him close, kissing his forehead.
"I'll call James," she said quietly through her tears. Kendall never understood why he could hear parts of his visions, but never the whole thing. Sometimes he wondered if there was a volume button that he had yet to locate.
Logan grabbed her arm before she reach the cell phone and shook his head, "No, don't. You can't."
"But, Logan," she protested. "He can help you."
"He can't help me, Katie. I'll heal on my own. Like I always do. I just need time to rest," he insisted. "Besides he doesn't have the energy to transport right now. The traveling has worn him out."
"But Carlos can bring him. We can sneak him in."
"And risk them finding him?" Logan's voice was weak, but his tone was strong, "He wouldn't come anyway, Baby sis. He doesn't care about me."
"What do you mean, Big Brother? James is always-"
She stopped at the sound of a creaky floorboard just outside the door. Logan looked at her and before she could protest he pushed the air with his hands and his sister flew backwards towards the closet, the door slamming shut and locking just as the bedroom door crashed open once more.
Logan closed his eyes feigning sleep, but it didn't stop the man. Kendall closed his own eyes hoping desperately to be taken out of the vision and transported back to reality, but deep down he knew this was Logan's reality. There was no escaping it for either of them. Closing the door behind him and locking it, the man approached Logan still lying on the floor. He leaned down over him, running his finger across his cheek gently before picking the boy up and laid him on the bed.
Kendall let out a breath he was holding. It looked as if the man had a heart after all. Maybe he felt bad for what he had done and was trying to make up for it. Sure it was no excuse for what had already been done, but at least he wasn't back to hit him like Kendall was afraid he was there to do again.
Kendall continued to watch as the man crawled on top of his friend. His relief turning to horror when he realized what was happening as the man forced his lips against Logan's, his hand trailing down the healer's broken body, stopping only to undo the button of Logan's pants before shoving his hand inside.
Kendall's mind was spinning as he turned away unable to watch. He could hear Logan struggling against the man, but he was much larger and Logan was already battered and loosing strength by the minute. He hadn't even begun to heal in the few moments he had alone with Katie before he was being brutally attacked again. Kendall heard a large crack and a painful yelp from Logan, but he was too afraid to look as he heard the man cackle behind him. He closed his eyes and covered his ears trying to drown out the sound.
Suddenly he felt himself being yanked backwards. He opened his eyes only to close them again when the bright sun blinded him. Blinking, he slowly opened them again, breathing heavily has he sat up from his lying position, pushing away the strong arms that were holding onto him. He looked around, the painful cries finally fading being replaced by a melodic voice calling his name.
He looked around to find himself sitting outside in the parking lot looking up at the black pick up. He looked to his left to find Jett holding onto his arm while Carlos was on his right calling out his name trying to calm him down. He felt a cold shiver run up his back and noticed the sudden change in temperature. It was cold all of a sudden. Like it had been the day his parents had died.
"I see you finally found the thermostat," he looked back up at the truck to find James sitting in the passenger seat looking down at him and that's when it hit him.
He fought against the hold the others had on him and when he was free he rolled over on his hands and knees and retched up. He never felt so sick in his life. When his stomach was empty and he was heaving up nothing but air he leaned against Carlos trying to find the strength to continue.
"What happened? Are you alright?" the Latino asked as he stroked his hair, calming the blond enough to even out his breathing to be able to talk.
"L-Logan," he managed to stutter.
This caught the hazel-eyed leader's attention and had him jumping down from the truck and kneeling in front of the blond, "What about Logan? What happened?" he demanded.
"He's hurt," he breathed out, "They hurt him."
"He's a healer. Isn't he?" Jett asked confused, but Kendall shook his head.
"It's bad. He can't heal."
James stood up with a look of determination, but Carlos caught his arm, "James you can't. You're too weak. I'll drive you."
"You said he wasn't in school?" the leader asked the blond who nodded, "There's no time," he pulled his arm away from Carlos, but before he could Kendall grabbed a hold of him.
"Katie," he breathed out still trying to catch his breath. "She's in the closet."
James nodded and with a 'pop' he disappeared.
Author Note: Just wanted to thank those of you who commented on the last chapter about the new Mpreg idea I had and I have made a decision. I have decided it will be a Kames/Cargan (since I don't have any stories with Kames for a main pairing) The story will follow James and you'll probably see Logan more than Kendall at times. James and Logan will both be pregnant because me and RusherSchmidt007 have come to the conclusion that there are barely any Logan Mpregs.
Summary:You're Not Alone. A/U, Mpreg. Kames/Cargan. It was the end of BTR and the boys were ready to move on. They could barely stand to be together for a second longer. But after their private plane crashes in the wilderness, leaving them deserted in the middle of nowhere, they have no choice but to band together in order to survive. When all hope seems lost, the band is found and resume to go on in their separate ways, but the damage is already done. Now James is left with more than just a memory of what happened in the woods.
So it will be filled with lots of drama. It wont be no happy go lucky Mpreg. I hate happy cuddly stories. Blah! Should be interesting.
