Author's Note:

Hello readers and welcome to Chapter Twenty-One! Another section of the plot shall be revealed in this ongoing story.

My mind has also recently exploded with ideas, so this series could be anywhere from three to six books. It really depends on if I can fit enough interesting plot in six books or not.

Most, if not all of this chapter shall be completed on a long eight and a half hour long plane trip from Newark, New Jersey to Barcelona, Spain. No, I don't live in NJ, it's just a connecting flight. I live near, but not in Washington D.C. I'm visiting relatives, who happen to have a summer beach house. :D

Anyways, in this chapter we'll see POV's from a record number of cats, including Nightfang, Dawnlight, Achilles, Shade, and Duskfall. Yes, Duskfall is making her first appearance. For the second consecutive chapter, let's start with Dawnlight.

On to the story!

Chapter Twenty-One:

Dawnlight felt as if she was in a different universe, as if she was floating. As if everything was alright, but she knew she'd been drugged by the rogue.

How stupid she'd been. She'd acted like an awestruck apprentice, like she'd never seen a rogue before. Her mate was a former rogue, for StarClan's sake! If she could've clawed herself in her unconscious yet somehow conscious at the same time state, she would've.

How long would that large amount of poppy seeds render her in this state? Would she be forever asleep?Would she be half-awake for a moon? Hopefully she'd wake up soon, so that she could escape.

Sometime later...

Suddenly, Dawnlight found herself in the waking world, or at least, part in it. She could tell that she was conscious, but she couldn't move, and her eyelids wouldn't open. However, her senses worked. She was being slowly carried across what smelled like a field, and she heard soft voices speaking. She found that if she paid attention, she could actually understand the words.

"What do we do if she wakes up?" The first cat mewed. It sounded like a tom, though a nervous one.

"If she wakes, she won't be able to move. Achilles gave her so many poppy seeds she'll probably still be seeing stars by the time we get home, but if she can move and she tries to escape, just break a leg or two, and see if she can run," the second voice said, undoubtedly a she-cat. The she-cat seemed to hold some authority over the nervous tom, but they both seemed to answer to the rogue Achilles. What sort of violent group was this? Why did they kidnap her? She remembered that small flash of recognition Achilles had had in his eyes when she'd said her name. How did they know her?

She attempted to listen to more, but all of a sudden, the words made no sense. She couldn't smell anything, meadow or cat, and her consciousness was drifting. She had no way to protest as she reentered her state of half conscious half not.

Nightfang's POV:

Nightfang gasped as he entered the bloody clearing for the second time. The site still overwhelmed him. Was this not enough evidence they'd killed his mate?

"Stay here," Mintleaf ordered, "I want to check this out myself. If you try to get near, I'll claw you." Nightfang numbly nodded, staying in the cover of the trees. He felt like an apprentice again, feeling the thrill of sneaking out to meet Mintpaw, his best friend, and feeling the betrayal when she'd left him. One good thing did come of Mintpaw leaving. He finally realized what he should've long past. He and Dawnpaw, even at their young age, were meant for each other.

"Nightfang!" Mintleaf exclaimed. She was staring at the blood almost stupidly in disbelief.

"Yes that is blood," Nightfang growled.

"Calm," Mintleaf ordered, "This blood carries no scent of Dawnlight. This was used to make you think she was dead."

Nightfang stared at her. This was real, he wasn't dreaming. His mate was still alive. And if Dawnlight was still alive,

He'd find her.

Achilles' POV:

Achilles scraped his long claws on the sharp rock, staring out on the large plain ahead of him. If he wasn't burdened by the prisoner, he could probably run through the fields for days, but to keep the she-cat in her coma, they would need to go slow, and they had. They'd already spent a day dragging and carrying their prisoner towards their home.

Though he didn't tell Red, the second tier that was with him, he was afraid that if Shade's brother was already after them, he'd catch up. If he did catch up though, they'd threaten to kill his mate if he didn't go with them. If he agreed, they'd break his leg from behind, but if he didn't, they'd fight, and they'd win.

"Achilles?" Red's voice came from behind him.

"Is there something wrong with the prisoner, Red?" He replied.

"Actually," She mewed, "That is what I came to talk about. I've noticed something that may or may not hinder our movement."

"What is it? Tell me," Achilles ordered. He needed to hear this.

"I may be wrong, but I've noticed...I've noticed some swelling in her stomach. I think our prisoner is pregnant." Red mewed.

"She's pregnant?" Achilles murmured, "Interesting..." This could definitely help their cause if they handled it correctly.

Shade's POV:

Shade nosed his new mate's belly, uncertain, "When will I know if she's pregnant, Ember?"

Ember bowed his head, "There's no specific time, but you may see signs of pregnancy in a moon or two Master."

Shade nodded, "Hopefully she'll show signs sooner than later." Turning to Pepper, he asked, "How do you feel?"

Beaming up at him, Pepper brightly mewed, "I feel normal, Master, but I hope that I soon become the carrier of our future leader."

Shade nodded, "I do too Pepper, I do too." Looking down at the rest of the cave, he thought to himself, When was Night going to get there? Did he volunteer, or did they kidnap a loved one?

Would he ruin his paradise?

Nightfang's POV:

"If they have a day on us, we've got to go quickly, or else we won't be able to catch them," Nightfang mewed.

Mintleaf looked at him hard, "Nightfang, are you sure you want to do this? Do you want to leave your Clan behind? They may not trust you if you come back without Dawnlight."

"I'm going, whether you want me to or not. If my mate's alive, then I'm getting her," he hissed, angry.

"Well then let's go!" Mintleaf mewed, taking off in the direction of the rogue's scent. Sighing, Nightfang ran after her. Hopefully this scent wouldn't fade, and they could take his mate back.

Duskfall's POV:

"What do you want?" Bramblestar mewed. Duskfall had entered his den without waiting for permission. She had to act surprised, as what she was going to say would be very controversial.

"I have terrifying news about Nightfang and Dawnlight's disappearance!" She mewed.

Bramblestar leaned forward, "What is it?" Duskfall had to stop herself from smiling. This was too easy.

She took a deep breath and mewed, "I was out in the forest and I met Nightfang. He looked very disheveled, and he had a skittish look in his eyes. He told me to stay away, or else he'd have his rogue friends kidnap me like they had with Dawnlight."

Bramblestar looked hard at her, "Are you being serious? I know you and Nightfang never got along well."

"I am telling the complete truth, I promise," Duskfall lied. This was the most important part. Turning her pelt to the side, she mewed, "See these scratches? He gave these to me as I ran away. He's turned his back on us!"

Bramblestar nodded, "I'll tell the patrols to keep him out instead of looking for him. Thank you, Duskfall, now can you see Jayfeather? He'll want a look at those scratches."

She dipped her head and backed out of the den. Step one was done. Soon it'd be time for step two. It would be horrible if Squirrelflight had an accident, wouldn't it?

A/N:

Uh oh! Dawnlight can't move, and she's pregnant, and Pepper may be as well! Nightfang and Mintleaf have undertaken the journey to save her, but Duskfall is taking advantage of that and now she's planning to kill Squirrelflight!

Oh yeah, 3,000 views!

What will happen next? Who knows?

Remember, R&R!
