Berserker of White

Master: Anastasia Angelene

True Identity: Ganelon

Alternative Class: Avenger, Saber

Alignment: Lawful Mad

Catalyst: Fragment of ivory

Notes:

Astolfo, Ogier the Dane, Olivier, Roland - just as many names basked in glory. They were knights and paladin, serving faithfully under their one and only king, the Emperor Charlemagne. All of them had adventures and marvelous feat of bravery under their name. And in stark contrast to them, basked in eternal glory, there was the name of Ganelon. A proud servant of Charlemagne, and the uncle of Roland whom he would eventually betray - he had all he wanted: glory, strength, fortune and respect from the rest of Charlemagne's court. Truly, what led to his demise wasn't greed, but anger.

It was during a fateful campagne in the land known today as Spain. Many would come home from hese conquest, but none of the Twelve Peers. All that was left was to negociate with Marsile, the Saracen king whow as already on the verge of defeat. Ganelon longed for peace, but Roland wished to keep the war against the Saracen going. This was just one of the many occasions where the two disagreed. It was a fact that Ganelon came to hate his nephew, his attitude and the love he received from Charlemagne.

But on this occasion, Roland slighted him in a way that he couldn't take back - and thus the plot to kill the young paladin hatched. Ganelon, whom as sent to negociate peace at the risk of his life, gave way to his ressentment and hatred toward his nephew and sold Charlemagne's rear-guard to the Saracen. Once the war was over, the issu came to light, and Ganelon ended up executed.

But, had he betrayed? In practice, everyone agreed that he had disseved his king in the worst way. However, what about the criminal? He had never once felt like he had betrayed.

"I only took revange against Roland!"

He still loved his king, his country and his family. He was still faithful, but he had crossed a line he could never return from. Even now, as a Servant, he cannot escape the guilt of his deeds - not for killing his nephew, but for hurting his King. In his eyes clouded with madness, his Master is his king in the same way Charlemagne was, regardless of gender or social class. No matter waht, he would obey them and make sure very one of their wish would be granted. No matter what destiny and history had chosen for him, he would be the most perfect of knights. So please, please - he begs for forgiveness.

Class Skill

Mad Enhancement (D++):

Berserker is still capable of normal speech, and mutual understanding might even be possible. However, that state is completely unstable, and he could fall to madness at a moment's notice if he is slighted or contradicted. There are also a few subjects which would turn him into a blood-curling beast in an instant. Howeer, nothing come close to laying a hand on his Master - those who harm her will never be forgiven.

Personal Skills

Black Knight (B):

A truly ironic skill for one such as him, but one which Berserker holds dear. This is the proof that, although he acted unlike a knight, he still has the qualities of one hidden deep inside. As long as he acts fairly and chivalrously, Berserker receives a plus modifier to his Strength, Agility and Endurance.

Archetype of Betrayal (A):

The crystalization of Berserker's fame as a traitor to his king, which turned him into the medieval archetype of a felon. The love he devoted to his king and his family, the loyalty with which he served, and whichever virtues he held - all those were rendered meaningless by his act of treachery. Now, he is only refered to as a heartless traitor. And thus, the more he claims and wishes to be a virtuous knight, someone who lived in the light of God, the more his appearance and very core shift away from that ideal of his. He becomes a monster, more resistant than a human ought to be, but with no humanity left in him. No matter how much he begs, nor how much he asks for forgiveness - this is the tragedy of a monster.

As a result of his reputation he also does more damage tokings and those who held such political power.

Noble Phantasm

Murgleis: Holy Blade Tainted with Betrayal

(C), Anti-Unit

A beautifully crafted seax, which Berserker has brought to many battles with him. It hasn't received quite as much fame as Durendal the invincible, or as Curtana the holy - but it was touted at one of the best blades at Charlemagne's court. In it's pommel is incrusted a holy relic, making it an efficient weapon to use against those of evil origin. However, this sword is anything but holy, thanks to the unfortunate deals of its owner.

It is upon this sword, upon this relic that Berserker sworn his revanche and his betrayal. As such Murgleis gained a conceptual power, that of betrayal, of treachery. he kind of unscrupulous acts that would take the target off guard and lead them to their downfall. In the Avenger class (which is also the most befitting for Berserker), it would have a different power. However, in the Berserker class where the knight Ganelon has let his raw emotions take the better of him, this Noble Phantasm ats as an illusion.

It will trick smell, touch, sight, earing and even taste to make its target see an illusion - give them the impression the attack is coming from a favorable angle that can grant them victory, while the real blade is about to take their life. This NP cannot cirucmvent skills such as Eye of the Mind or Instinct though.
