Ryan's POV,

"Shannon, close your eyes." I said as I shielded her from our executioner.

I stared at the guard as he started to take aim and squeeze the trigger. I closed my eyes, ready for death's embrace. I heard the pistol fire twice, both shots hitting the wall behind me. I opened my eyes, to see the smoking barrel of the guard's pistol.

The guard lowered his pistol before he whispered, "Lieutenant O'Neil, I'm here to help you and your sister."

"Why do you want to help us?" I asked.

"I was recruited by Sargent Alvey sometime ago. Along with other soldiers, like you, we all hate serving our dictator and hurting innocent people. We want to use our skills to fight for a more honorable cause, a cause to help the ones that we love and the citizens of this city; and make up for our mistakes." He replied sadly

I stared at him for a moment, before turning to Shannon; she looked up at me and nodded. I turned towards the guard again and said, "In that case," I held out my hand, "Welcome to the cause, Private..."

He gave a slight smile and took my hand as he replied "Richard, Sir."

"Well Richard, how do you feel about getting out of here?" I asked.

"I'd like that very much Sir, though there is another guard guarding the door. He is very loyal to the army."

"Lure him in here; I'll take care of the rest." I replied.

"Shannon, I want you to hide up against the wall, and don't make a sound." I said as I hid as close to the door as I could.

Richard exited the room, closing the door behind him. I then heard the other guard ask, "Is it done?"

"Yes, quick and painless. More than those traitors deserved, in my opinion." Richard replied.

"I agree, though it was the Colonel's orders, wonder what made them so special?" The guard said.

"Not sure. Help me with the bodies." Richard said as he opened the door to the cell.

I saw the guard enter, he started to quickly turn his head looking for our bodies. Before he said anything, I grabbed him from behind and quickly rammed him into the wall; I then grabbed his head and hit it against the wall, he fell down, unconscious.

"Is, is he dead?" Shannon asked fearfully.

"No, just knocked out." I answered as I went through the guard's pockets, finding the keys to the cells; and taking his pistol and ammunition. "Come on Shannon, let's get out of here." I said as I powered up the pistol.

As Shannon and I exited the cell, I closed and locked the door; just in case the guard woke up.

"What now, Sir?" Richard asked.

"I want you to go find Sargent Alvey and tell him to initiate the plan; he'll know what to do. Meanwhile I'm going to help the resistance prisoners escape." I explained.

Richard nodded as he jogged towards the prison entrance.

"What about me?" Shannon asked.

"We're going to free our friends." I answered as I began to jog towards Katie's cell.

"What are you talking about?" Shannon asked as she jogged behind me.

"We're going to bust Isabella, Phineas, and Katie out, meet up with a squad of soldiers who are loyal to me; then fight our way out of here." I answered.

"Phineas and Katie are alive and here?" She inquired excitedly.

"Yes, just keep following me."

As we came to Katie's cell, she was in her bunk, asleep. I keyed the lock and entered the room, going over to Katie. As I got near, she sprang up and took me by surprise. Before I could even react, I was pinned against the wall.

"What the hell? Ryan?" She questioned as she looked at me.

"Hello Katie, expecting someone else." I said with a cheeky smile.

"Where's Phineas? Where's Isabella? What happened to them?" She demanded, as she kept me pinned.

"They're in solitary confinement, just down the hallway. I'm helping you all get out of here." I said, avoiding the second part of the question.

"Next thing I know, I'm being stabbed in the back by you again." She spat.

"He's speaking the truth, he's not lying." Shannon said from the doorway.

"Shannon?" Katie questioned, she then looked towards me, and let me go. "What is she doing here?" Katie asked.

"Let's just say that Raymond tried to honor his threat; but didn't count on a few things. Now we need to free Isabella and Phineas, and then get out of this hellhole." I stated.

We quickly rushed towards Isabella's and Phineas's cell. Standing in front of the door, I keyed the lock, and opened the door. Isabella was kneeling beside Phineas, she looked up before quickly asking, "Ryan?"

"Thought I'd come by and visit, with a friend." I said as I opened the door further.

"Katie?" She said as I opened the door.

Katie quickly rushed in and hugged her; I could see the tears in their eyes as they hugged each other. When they broke apart, Katie took a look at the wounds from her interrogation and asked, "What happened to you?"

"Don't worry about me right now; I'm more worried about Phineas. He's been passing in and out of consciousness for a while." Isabella said as she looked towards him.

I stepped further into the cell and looked at Phineas, "He's going to need proper medical attention soon, I'll carry him out."

"No, I'll do it, besides you need to lead us out of here, Katie help me." Isabella commanded.

They both reached down, each grabbing on of Phineas's arms, as they stood him up and positioned him between them and supported him.

Isabella look towards me and said, "Thank you for helping us Ryan."

"Don't thank me yet, we still have a ways to go." I replied as everyone exited the cell.

Normal POV

"Now what?" Katie asked.

"We get out of this hellhole." Ryan stated.

"How?" Isabella inquired.

"Well, hopefully Richard, our new friend, has taken care of that. If he delivered my message, my men should have cleared the entrance to the prison by now; and my pilot should be ready for takeoff. Come on lets go." Ryan said as he led everyone to the prison entrance.

As the team approached the prison entrance, Ryan rounded the corner.

"It's O'Neil! Shoot him!" Someone shouted as laser bolts came from the hallway.

When Shannon and the trio reached the corner, Ryan was falling back clutching his left arm and firing back; taking cover behind the left side of the hallway.

"Ryan!" Shannon shouted as she tried to run to her brother, Katie quickly held her back.

"Shannon, I'm fine, it's just a graze." Ryan shouted as he took cover.

Katie pulled Shannon behind her and stood at the end of the corner; Shannon then curled up and covered her ears trying to escape the sound of laser fire. Katie and Isabella gently sat Phineas down against the wall. Katie stood against in the wall as she got near the corner and shouted, "I thought you said the way would be clear?"

"Well apparently my message wasn't received, and I forgot about the extra security. There are ten…" A shot came from the hallway Ryan returned fire and continued; "Now nine guards at the entrance, and it's been heavily fortified."

"Is that the only way out of here?" Isabella shouted.

"It's the only way I know of." Ryan answered.

As Ryan was about to shoot again, a guard lunged at him with a bayonet on his rifle. Ryan quickly got the upper hand and kicked the guard back against the wall, before shooting him twice in the chest. Shannon watched in horror as her brother killed the guard. The guard slid down the wall and Ryan quickly grabbed the rifle and said, "Which one of you is a good shot?"

"Toss it here." Katie said.

Ryan slid the rifle across the floor to Katie, who picked it up and started to fire down the hallway. The guards in the hallway took cover behind several metal plates designed to block laser fire.

"What are we going to do now?" Katie asked.

"Unless you have a grenade on you, we're stuck here; they're too dug in." Ryan shouted back as he fired his pistol.

All of a sudden the guards started to yell and more laser fire was heard, but it wasn't being shot at the team.

"Behind us, return fire!"

"What the hell's going on!?"

"Who shooting at us!?"

When the yelling and shots ceased, Ryan and Katie slowly peeked out and looked down the hallway. A haze of smoke obscured the hallway and the guards who lay dead.

Ryan and Katie looked at each other before someone started talking, "Find out where they're being held; you stay with him. You're with me."

Ryan and Katie took aim, as two people cautiously stepped forward through the smoke. As their faces became visible, Katie smiled as she shouted, "Adyson, Ferb!"

Adyson smiled and rushed towards Katie and gave her a hug, Irving, Django, and Buford stepped through the smoke. Isabella rounded the corner and smiled as she saw her friends.

"It's good to see you guys again." Isabella said.

"Isabella, where's Phineas?" Ferb asked as he walked up to her.

Isabella looked at Phineas, who was still unconscious. Ferb rushed and knelt in front of him. He looked at Isabella.

"Hospitality of Raymond." Isabella answered.

"Sorry, we're going to have to cut this reunion short. We need to get to the hangar before more guards arrive." Ryan stated getting everyone's attention.

Adyson and Buford pointed their rifles at Ryan.

"Don't fire! He's on our side." Isabella shouted at them.

"What? But he works for the enemy." Buford questioned.

"Not anymore, we'll talk later; right now we need to get to the hangar." Ryan explained, Ferb gave Isabella his rifle and picked up Phineas. They all started to make their way towards the hanger. As the team ran through the maze of hallways, some guards tried to stop them, but were quickly killed or suppressed.

The team quickly entered the hangar and closed the door behind them. As they scanned the hangar for any guards, Ryan slowly walked forward and quietly said, "No."

"What's wrong?" Katie asked.

"Betty's not here, she should have been here ready with the VTOL." Ryan said as he raised his voice.

"Can't we just take one of these things and get out of here?" Buford asked.

"No, they've all been sabotaged. Unless one of you can familiarize yourself with the controls in a matter of seconds for the two that still work, then… no" Ryan stated.

"What do we do now?" Adyson asked.

A large door began to open and several soldiers crouched under it and opened fire.

"Take cover!" Buford hollered as he and the team took cover behind whatever would protect them. As the team returned fire, one of the VTOL's powered up and took off hovering above the ground. It aimed it Gatling laser at the team, but didn't fire. The soldiers also stopped firing as the Colonel stepped forward. The team was trapped and wondered if this was the end.
