Why is Chifuyu-nee doing this to me? Yes, sometimes she can go all strict on me and I don't really mind. This challenge she gave to me is just a bit too drastic. I have an hour just to go to her office and presently, I have 30 minutes. You think it's easy? Actually it is… unless you count the add-on challenge where a number of girls are hunting for you just because your choice was your sister.
I had numerous close call situations. In one part, I almost got blasted by Cecilia. In another, I got almost got caught by Houki. The others? You know what happens if you anger a German girl… especially if they so happen have an IS able to crush you. Rin almost made a blunt hit on my head when I headed for the corner. Probably Char was the least violent among them.
And that's how I ended up hiding behind this convenient plant. Even if I did make a run for her office, the girls would probably knock me out before I could even get anywhere close! Why you ask? They were all scouting every area of the academy for me. The killing intent being felt just by looking at them was just the first thing. It's something like a do-or-die situation (not literally die). One wrong move and I can say goodbye to my choice. It's obvious that she needs help with her work!
Now how to sneak away from them? The only way to get to her is by charging through and getting to her office. To be honest, I have to be very suicidal to attempt something like that. IS allows the pilot to have enhanced senses thanks to the technology it has. Even one small step can trigger the pilot to hear what's going on. Ultimately, even a fall of a needle can be heard if focused enough.
Too bad I didn't have Byakushiki right now! Due to some mock battle I had with the girls, it's gotten all battered up. It is currently in maintenance and is being repaired by the maintenance team. This meant that having Byakushiki as my ideal plan to reach Chifuyu-nee is now out.
If I had more plans just to go there then I'll be there in a flash or something! Of course, if you minus the killing intent coming from the girls trying to hunt me down right now. Maybe I could just try to go there right? It's definitely better than to hide behind this plant all day! I was supposed to be having a casual time for Saturday.
With that out of the way, I went out of my hiding place and went stealth mode. This action may be one of the many blunt moves I can make but anything is better than being a coward. The office wasn't too far from my location. My timing also just might be spot-on since it was already 30 seconds without any of them trying to obliterate me. Yes, closer and closer I went but suddenly, they all appeared from one of the corridors!
This cannot end well for me!
"That was an obvious tactic, Ichika." Houki was the first one to speak. Usually, she would be calm but she looked quite pissed of me right now. "Did you really think we'll leave this corridor towards Orimura-sensei's office unguarded?"
She had a point. Why would they even cut me some slack at a time like this? Though, I would have wanted that they would cut me at least a small amount of slack.
"Please, just let me through everyone." I tried to go with reasoning but I knew that this action was a long shot. "I didn't even want to choose between any of you to begin with! I just wanted to help Chifuyu-nee with those colossal piles of paperwork on her desk…"
I wasn't sure if honesty was the way to go. Will pleads to let me go really convince them to let me slide and head to her office? I had a time limit after all. Every second I waste makes me closer to failure in Chifuyu-nee's challenge.
"I think we should let him through." Those words were music to my ears. Thank you Char!
"Ehh? Why would I let my waifu pass?" Here comes some offense coming from Laura.
"He's not your wife, he's not even the girl! Plus, I'm the childhood friend of him." Rin began to argue along with them.
"No, no. Ichika-san would want to be with me more than all of you." Even Cecilia's been pulled into the argument.
Just from the exchanged words, the argument started. It was a golden opportunity for me! I slipped through them and started running once more. I think I have just enough time to make it to her office in time! If I do, then Chifuyu-nee would finally accept my help! Running into anyone could still be possible but hopefully, it wouldn't happen.
Before I knew it, I made it to the office! It was all thanks to their inside arguments that I could make it. I'm not saying that I was thankful for their fighting though!
Apparently, Chifuyu-nee didn't think I was there so I approached her. "I'm here Chifuyu-nee," My words seem to have surprised her as she glanced at me. "I managed to somehow get past them and get here in at least an hour so did I win?"
Seeming like she heard me, she turned towards me. "It seems like you somehow passed the test," She looked quite fazed for a second but regained her composure. "A promise is a promise though. You may now accompany me for the week if you wish. Still, you can reconsider if you changed your mind about having me as your company.
I shook my head to show my acceptance. With no other means of changing my mind, she finally accepted me as her partner for the week. I don't know how I'd help her for the week but time should tell.
I hope the others have no hard feelings…
