Chapter 2 – Roman's Revolution
"Hydra Steam!" Cure Hydra's attack hit Roman full in the back; he spun off cursing.
"Hydra! You're ok!" Tectonic hugged her.
"Of course! There's no way I'd let THAT clown beat me!" Hydra grinned. But that was the wrong thing to say, for a bolt of energy hit her directly.
"Roman…is no CLOWN!" He roared, rising up again.
"Arrrrrgh! Doesn't this guy ever quit?!" Inferno groaned. "Inferno Slice!" Roman held up his turbine blades and blocked the attack.
"Delta… will swallow nature…with technology!" Roman unleashed a barrage of smaller blades which slammed into the Cures.
"Aaaaaah!" All three of them went flying.
"Somehow he's gotten even stronger!" Tectonic wailed.
"He must be real desperate!" Hydra grunted, halting her flight. "But we've beat him once; we will beat him again! Aqua Baton!"
"Fire Baton!"
"Plate Baton!"
"Spirit of the Deep Waters, hear my thoughts! Pretty Cure, Hydrating Pressure!"
"Guardian of the Eternal Flames; feel my soul! Pretty Cure, Inferno Gold Burst!"
"Protector of the Steadfast Land, see my strength! Pretty Cure, Core Infusion!" The combined strength of the attacks blasted Roman with infinite force.
"Gotcha!" Inferno cried. But when the smoke cleared, Roman still stood.
"No way, how could he survive that?!" Tectonic cried.
"PRETTY CURE… I WILL DESTROY YOU!" Roman unleashed even more energy blades, which again found its targets.
"I think we're done for guys…" Hydra whispered as they fell through the air.
"We can't give up! The fairies and Earth need us…" Inferno gasped. There was a sudden explosion again; Roman was flung into a building. The Cures turned their heads. Silhouetted against the Sun was the shape of the Silver Cure. Then she sped up to Roman and engaged in melee combat, matching him blow for blow. But then, Roman delivered a critical punch and the Cure was hurled backwards; the Sun gleamed on her face and in the full light, Hydra felt a flicker of recognition.
"Wait, is that-?" She started.
"Goddess of the Air, take the scent of my pure spirit!" The Cure suddenly propelled herself into the air. "Play the haunting melody: sora, ti, do! Pretty Cure, Typhoon Wave!" The silver burst of energy soared straight into Roman and right through his middle.
"Aaaaaaargh!" Roman clutched his heart. "This…pain! You…will pay for this!" He staggered towards the Silver Cure. She flew up to him and delivered a powerful kick that spend him spinning to earth. There he lay, incapacitated.
"My work here is done." The Cure turned away.
"Wait!" Hydra darted forward. The Silver Cure stopped but did not turn. "Who are you?! Why do you always save us?! We know you're a Pretty Cure like us, so join our team!"
"I cannot answer your questions." The Silver Cure replied, then began to walk away. However, a man with silver hair materialised above them.
"Hmph. So, this is the feared Pretty Cure? I must say, I'm disappointed. Beaten by a few school girls Roman? You sicken me."
"Who the heck are you?!" Inferno demanded.
"Ah. Where are my manners? I am Parseaus, denizen of Delta. I'm very sorry but I'm afraid I have to destroy you all." He almost sighed.
"Give it your best shot!" Tectonic squeaked.
"Until next we meet, Pretty Cure." Parseaus clicked his fingers and both he and Roman vanished.
"Who did he think he was; strutting around like he owned the place!" Siobhan huffed.
"Where'd the Silver Cure go?" Kaiari looked around. She had vanished mysteriously again.
"It's suspicious how she won't tell us who she is." Emily frowned. "Yet she shows up just in time to save us when we are getting our butts kicked!"
"We thought you were powerful, 'Lii-chan. But in comparison, that Silver Cure is something! If only we could have her on our team!" Siobhan sighed,
"And that Parseaus guy…" Kaiari added. "Something tells me we'll be seeing a lot more of him soon. That Silver Cure did some serious damage to Roman."
"Indeed. Her Typhoon Wave is so strong…our purification attacks are nothing against that." Siobhan changed back.
"We gotta find out who she is; she looked so familiar to me" Kaiari mused.
"One thing I despise-failure. You have failed me Roman."
"No! I, Roman am loyal…loyal to Delta-sama!"
"I don't think so. You have failed multiple times to destroy Pretty Cure. A handful of girls and they managed to beat you?" Delta's voice echoed Parseaus' words with almost pity. "You disgust me."
"Delta-sama…please! Please give Roman one last chance!" Roman plead. Delta simply stretched out her hand.
"Eternal…Excellion."
"AAAAAAAAAAARGH!" Roman's last terrible cry filled the air as he was vaporised forever.
"I grow weary." Delta announced coldly. Who amongst you is loyal enough to their Queen to destroy Pretty Cure and claim the Earth for Delta?!"
"I am, My Lady!" Parseaus almost sprung from the shadows. "I Parseaus, denizen of the Fountain of Sorrow shall conquer the Earth and crush those pitiful Cures as well!"
"Do not fail me then Parseaus, lest you wish to meet the same end."
"Of course, Delta-sama! I shall go right away!"
"Parseaus." Delta's call halted him.
"Yes, my Queen?"
"Roman and Apolline both underestimated Pretty Cure. You would be wise not to make the same mistakes they did."
"Delta-sama, I am of a greater intellect than those buffoons; I shall not fail!" With that, Parseaus departed. As he strode down the corridor, he passed a woman with chocolate brown hair. She was vaguely familiar to him but he didn't stop to dwell on it. As he passed, she smiled; a cruel smile it was.
"We'll see about that." She sneered.
