And I'm back! Here's a new chapter and the first full chapter of the Greed Island arc! Who watched the new episode of HunterxHunter? So sad right, I almost cried! TT^TT GONNNN! KILLUAAA! *Hiccup* Anyway, back on topic, I hope you enjoy this long chapter!
Discalimer: I do not own Hunter x Hunter, but I do own Unexpected Gift.
Gon and I sat down and waited for a long moment for Killua to arrive.
"Someone's watching us." I stated the obvious. It was starting to get annoying with the feeling of eyes drilling holes in my back. Gon nodded his head, his eyes glancing from side to side, before drifting in front of us as another person came down. I let out a yawn and rested my head against Gon's shoulder.
"You're going to sleep again?" Gon asked. Gon has seen my strange sleeping habit, which has become larger and larger. I like sleeping, a lot really. And whenever I can, I most likely will.
"Maybe…" I slurred slightly. "But Killua's going to probably be here soon and get mad at you so I won't." I knew that he would be here soon actually, since the ogre dude and his friend already came.
"We're being watched." Was the first statement I heard before I let my head shoot up.
"Killua! You took so long!" I complained to the boy.
"Sorry. I don't see any nearby towns." Killua stated as he glance around.
"Yeah, but everyone headed in the same directions." Gon informed as we stood up from the ground.
"They either went this way or that way?" He asked, pointing left and in front of us. Killua looked so bored, making me feel childish of when I first got here. I nodded my head.
"Huh? How did you know?" The green-haired boy asked.
"Because that's where we're being watched from. But we still don't know why they're watching us." Killua stated as he shoved his hands into his pocket.
"New players are easy prey, maybe." I added in with a shrug. "Anyway, let's go!" I exclaimed after. The boys nodded their heads and we were off.
"Regardless of who's watching, we should start by gathering information." Killua stated and I admired our surroundings as we walked. It was nice here. Out of all the places we've been there hasn't really been an airy, deserted outdoors. Whale Island was one, but it was a little squished.
"How did it go?" Killua suddenly asked.
"Hmm?" was Gon's reply.
"Your save data. Book." Killua cried out so that the book would appear. I did the same,
"Book." This time the puff of smoke did not surprise me and I swung it up and down. I wonder if I could hit someone with this… I randomly thought.
"How many cards were inside?" The white haired boy asked excitedly.
"There weren't any cards inside." Killua turned to the boy in shock.
"Huh? For real?"
"Did you really think Ging would go so easy on Gon?" I asked the assassin with a smirk. He glared at me and I went back to playing with my book.
"But there was a message from Ging." Gon added.
"What did he say?" I asked, even though I already knew.
"To enjoy the game."
"Enjoy the game?" Killua repeated. "But this doesn't really feel like a game." I watched Killua flip the book before calling it back.
"What do you think about the rules?" Gon asked us. We both replied different things at the same time.
"I still don't know enough yet." Was what Killua said.
"Try to be the first to get a card and if you're dead, you're dead." Was my reply. The two boys stared at me with a strange look. "What?" I asked, tilting my head. Gon nervously smiled while Killua simply shook his head with a sigh. Suddenly, I heard this whirling sound.
"What's that?" I asked, looking around.
"You hear it too?" Gon asked me and I nodded my head. This was when that guy comes, right? Soon enough, a glowing, yellow dot shot down a small distance away from us. That guy with a weird hairstyle and headphones and two tattoos on both his shoulders appeared.
"Book." I called out, causing the two boys to glance at me in confusion.
"This must be your first time playing this game." The guy said, but looked at me with a look of confusion. He probably thinking I might be a player.
"I wonder if you're right." Killua said. "Since you're carrying a book, you must be a player."
"Well, sure." The guy held a card and put it into his binder and we watched with mild interest. "Killua-kun, Yukiko-chan and Gon-kun, huh?" My glare hardened at this. Why does everyone add a '-chan' after my name? I randomly thought again.
"How do you know our names?" Gon asked immediately.
"How indeed?"
"Spell Card, right?" I questioned. He looked at me in shock, but so did the boys at my side. He's probably wondering how I know about spell cards when I don't have any in my binder.
"Trace on! Attack, Yukiko!" Oh shet! I cursed in my head as I closed my book and ran immediately. Wait, why am I running? I asked but continued anyway.
"You can't run from spells in this game!" The guy shouted, probably now knowing that I don't actually know about these things and gained confidence. I watched the glowing ball of light behind me, before it hit me. It tingled around my body and it made my head spin momentarily as my feet hit the ground.
"Yukiko, are you okay?" Gon cried out in worry. I didn't have a chance to reply as Killua's blood lust flew off the charts.
"What did you just do to her?" Killua asked in what seemed like a clam voice. I was scared slightly, but almost completely fangirlish. Calm down, Yukiko! I cried in my head as the guy ran away. Killua clicked his tongue before he and Gon rushed to me.
"I'm fine, guys. Don't worry." I said with a smile. I have to get used to that feeling now… I reminded myself in my head.
"Are you sure?" Killua asked in worry.
"Yeah. I don't feel any different." I replied as we continued to walk.
"But I'm still worried. He definitely did something to you" Gon added.
"No point in worrying about it now." I told them.
"Hey, was he using Nen when he said, 'Trace on'?" Gon asked. I shook my head.
"It was a spell card." I told them.
"You said something about that earlier." Killua said and I nodded my head.
"Well, in the instructions, she talked about the cards. And I sort of figured there are cards that are in the number slots, items where you use Gain and Things you can do on other players like spells." I lied to them smoothly.
"That wasn't in the instruction." Killua stated simply, while Gon tried to remember.
"I asked her." Was my short simply reply. "But I'm still not clear on the concept of these things. But I'm sure I would be fine." My attention drifted away from them when I saw something rustle in the bushes. I stopped mid step and looked at it. Killua and Gon did the same a few steps after. Suddenly, a small head of puppy popped out of the grass and looked at me. Cute~! I exclaimed in my head and ran to the adorable, little thing and wrapping my arms around it. The dog was more than happy to let me do as I pleased. It was a small, mini poodle with curly white fur.
"Oh, so cute!" I squealed as the dog licked the side of my cheek. "Aw! What is such a cute puppy doing out here? And you can't be a card since you didn't transform when I touched you. Oh, but your so cute!" I continued to blabber, cooing the furry little dog. I felt eye staring at me and I froze. Oh crud. I cursed in my head as I turned to look at Killua and Gon. Both their jaws hung loosely as they stared at me in shock. I stood up, the dog being carried in my arms and I blushed and glared at them.
"You saw nothing and we will never speak of this. Got it?" I hissed at them. They stared at my blankly, before turning to each other. I huffed and walked towards them.
"Wait, You're not bring the dog with you are you?" Killua asked in disbelief when he could finally look at me again.
"Of course I am! I can't just leave the poor puppy here." I replied. The dog in my arms gave puppy eyes to both Killua and Gon and I had to say it was impressive, probably enough to beat Gon's. Gon just smiled at it while Killua gritted his teeth and turned away.
"Hey, look! It's a town!" I stated while pointing at a town a far distance away from us, causing the other two to look at the direction I was pointing at. We walked a few more minutes before arriving.
"Antokiba, City of Prizes…?" Gon said as he read the sign
"Are those prizes?" Killua asked as we saw a million posters along the walls of the city.
"Wow, all of these are prizes?" Gon exclaimed and ran up to look at one. I followed before I heard someone cry out towards me.
"Haruko! Is that you Haruko!?" Killua looked at me while I turned to the lady who was yelling. I was about to shrug it off but then realized that woman was talking to me. I pointed at myself.
"I'm sorry. But I'm not Haruko." I told the woman. She ignored me and swiped the puppy out of my arms. My jaw dropped and I was just about to yell at the woman but got interrupted.
"Oh, thank you so much for bring Haruko back home!" She told me with a large smile. The woman was probably in her mid-30's or so with long black hair, similar to my length. She had deep teal eyes that were filled with tears of joys. I felt Killua tap my shoulder before pointing at something on the wall. I looked over and saw a picture of the puppy I picked up, saying that it had gone missing. What a coincidence… I thought in my head and turned to the woman with a smile.
"It's really no problem." I told her. She then took something out of her bag and handed it to me. I took it and then glanced at it. It was a card and I didn't bother looking at it for now.
"Book." I called out before putting the card in one of my free slots. I'll look at it later.
"Thank you, and goodbye." And with that, she was gone from my sights.
"So what did you get?" Killua asked, peering over my shoulder. I looked down.
"An… egg?" I questioned. I only glanced at the image before letting out a sigh. "Book." I called again, this time making the book disappear. "I'll look at it later. Hey, where's Gon?" Killua and I looked around before spotting the Green haired boy near where the crowd was. We walked over quickly.
"Antokiba Monthly Tournaments Schedule." Killua read out loud as we stood by Gon's side
"There's a rock-paper-scissors tournament this month." Gon told us.
"The prize is a Sword of Truth." I said.
"Is that an important item?" The green-haired boy asked.
"Probably. Look over there." I glanced to our right and saw one of the people who came into the game, the one who's the first one to die before looking to my left and saw the Nen exorcist.
"Should we participate?" Gon asked. I nodded my head.
"We should try to win all kinds of prizes while we're here!" I told the boys.
"We should also gather information." Killua added. Our stomach grumbled, rather loudly, causing us to sweat drop. I blushed embarrassedly.
"Let's eat first." Gon suggested. We walked into a café and I had no idea what's it's called and I could care less. We ordered a large spaghetti and the chef started the game.
"If you can finish this within thirty minutes, you don't need to pay! In addition, you'll also receive a Galgaida as your prize. Okay, begin!" I dove in immediately, the food smelled mouthwatering and tasted like it too! I ignored the conversation most of the time, focusing on eating. I finished before the boys did and sighed in relief. The boys looked at me in shock and I lifted my fist up in success and smiled happily. I took a napkin and quickly wiped my mouth. Hold on to the last piece of femininity you have, Yukiko. I thought in my head with a laugh. I opened up my book and took Galgaida from the chef dude and Gon and Killua Finished up and asked about the numbers and everything. Suddenly, I heard an explosion causing an earthquake and I almost screamed in surprise. I jumped out of my seat as soon as I heard it, the boy following me right after. My eyes went wide and my blood ran cold at the sight. I covered my mouth with one hand to keep myself from screaming in shock. The sight was different from the anime. In the anime, the guy was lying down face first so all you could see is the blood underneath him. But not this time, now he was facing upwards and I could see his inside. The bomb had created a hole in the man's body, blood spewing out everywhere. You could see a bit of burns on his intestines, but it was hard to spot since they were coated in blood.
"Holy cow. Mother of lord." I muffled my curses with my hand and I immediately turned my head away, completely disgusted. I felt Killua wrap his arms around me, so I could bury my face in his chest.
"He's one of the players who entered with us." I heard Killua whisper in my ear, and I nodded my head, trying to force the image out of my head. For some reason, seeing him like that, reminded me of Takeshi and it took me over the edge. "Hey, what happened?" He asked the guy beside us.
"His body suddenly exploded. From the inside." I gripped onto Killua shirt tighter. My imagination simply showed me what had happened and I hated it. It was gory, brutal and plain old disturbing. I heard a small whiz and I knew his body disappeared. I tried my best to relax my tensed form.
"He probably went back to the real world. Game over." I shook my head against his chest.
"Remember. They die in the real world too. The body won't go back, it's already gone." I told them. I heard Gon clench his jaw.
"Hey, Yukiko. Was the magic used on you earlier…" I felt Killua tighten his grip on me and my head whirled. The image of my dead body on the ground like that freaked me out even though I knew it wasn't like that.
"Don't worry." A voice said from behind. I lifted my head weakly, the dead body flashed in my eyes again before showing a guy with purplish brown hair. "There's no such spell in this game." I felt Killua relax but continued to hold me close.
"Spell?" Gon asked curiously. My explanation on spell cards weren't enough for him to understand.
"As you just said, it's something like magic." He told the boy. I slowly dispatched myself from Killua and calmed my breathing. Too many bad memories… I told myself. Forget, forget, forget. I told myself before clearing my head and looking up as if I did not just see something horrible. "He died from another player's Nen."
"Nen?" Gon repeated.
"Does that mean the players are trying to kill each other?" Killua questioned.
"Why?" I added, though I already knew why.
"Player hunting." Was the man's reply.
"Player hunting?" The white haired boy repeated.
"I can explain later. Anyway, are you interested in teaming up? We know a sure way to clear this game. If you're interested, follow me. My allies are waiting ahead." He persuaded us. The three of us leaned in close to discuss about it.
"What do we do?" Gon asked.
"Sounds suspicious. And we're already off a bad start." Killua replied.
"As I recall, on your way here, another player used an attack spell on you." He said, glancing at me. Killua and Gon tensed up.
"You and your allies are one of the many people watching us, no?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"You're right. Lots of people keep an eye on the starting point. If you come, I'll explain why. I can also tell you about the spell that was cast on you."
"Are you bribing, little kids? That's a large warning bell I'm hearing." I replied him with a smirk.
"You're being very nice. There must be a catch." Killua added.
"We have no choice. This game is difficult, unpleasant and frightening. Once you realize that, you'll be more willing to accept our offer. Well, it's your first time playing, so you could use the information…" My stomach clenched at what he said.
"What makes you think it's our first time? We could be returning players." Killua questioned. The man let out a sigh.
"Book." He called out.
"Book." I added right after him and jumped back along with the boys.
"This proves that you're beginners, well at least you two boys. An experienced player would react be summoning his or her own binder. Because you need spell cards to defend yourself."
"Then the spell cast on Yukiko…" Gon started off.
"Could only be stopped by another card." Killua finished.
"Even when you aren't carrying any cards, you should still summon it. An important bluff."
"I have my book out you know. This could mean I'm a returning player, bringing along some friends." I told the man with a glare. Wait, what am I doing? I'll ruin the plot this way.
"That's true. The fact you opened your book is probably by gamer instinct or because you tend to do the same as your opponent as you see it fit. Like take out your weapon if your opponent does so. Also, if you've been here long enough, you would've been used to brutal deaths." I flinched at that as the memory of Takeshi came back to me. We both called back our books.
"I just don't like reminders." I muttered under my breath. Gon quickly walked up and Killua grasped my hand before following and dragging me.
"Hey, how do we obtain spell cards?" Gon asked.
"The easiest method would be to go to Masadora, City of Magic." He told us.
"Masadora?" Gon repeated. "Killua, Yukiko, We should go with him. I'm worried about the spell on Yukiko. Okay?" Gon's eyes gleamed bright and I let out a smile.
"You don't have to worry about me." I told the boy, feeling a little giddy. Killua grew shocked and let out an unsteady sure.
We arrived at their meeting place near some steps. I looked a Genthru with a slight glare.
"Is this everyone?" The guy leading us asked.
"Yeah, everyone else turned me down." A guy with short grey hair and a moustache spoke.
"Let's get started, then." I tensed as the Bomber looked at me for a second. He looks so tired and nice that it scared me.
"Another player was just killed. He arrived with the rest of you. His stomach exploded. It was the Bomber." I flinched before focusing on Bisky.
"The Bomber?" Gon asked.
"The victims aren't killed by spells. No spell in this game is capable of injuring people. Which means you won't be injured or harms by any spell that's been cast on you."
"There are forty different spells. The one cast on you was an inspection spell. Either Trace or Adhesion."
"In short, once the enemy uses these on you, he or she will know everything about you." That's really creepy. I thought in my head. "Some players wait near the starting point in order to cast these spells on new players. As soon as a player obtains a valuable card, they'll show up and steal it. In some cases, they kill their target." I saw Killua tense slightly from the corner of my eye and gave his hand a squeeze.
"Like the guy who just died? I won't be that easy to kill." My head spun as I looked at Puhat. I won't be that easy to kill, huh? I thought, remembering he died with a beheading. I looked the opposite direction.
"No, he was killed by something else. There is a violent faction hunting players. This was done by on of them… The Bomber." I would've laughed in irony since he is The Bomber.
"Bomber…" Gon repeated. Some guy with a weird hairstyle spoke.
"In this game, there are three ways to acquire item cards. Do you know what they are?"
"Find them yourself." Was Gon reply.
"Trade with other players." The Nen Exorcist said.
"Killing players and taking it away from their binders for sure is one." I replied casually.
"Stealing from other players in other words." Killua stated to my point.
"Yes, those are the three ways. However, the number of players stealing from others has recently increased. That's due to the card's difficulty to obtain and the card transformation limit system. Players who can't obtain cards themselves choose to take them from others. If those players resist, they're killed. When they die, their ring disappears, and their cards are lost. However, it increases the transformation limit of that type of card. If you kill a player, you can't take his cards. That rule was meant to keep players from killing one another." Eeta explained that in a mere sentence, geez people! I glanced at Gon and saw how he looked upset.
"But now, it's back firing. It's been over ten years since the game's release. If no one can find a way to beat it, the killing will only continue. That's why we're trying to end this mess. We're recruiting allies to clear this game. We need your help." I would of laughed again as he said that. The bomber is not on your side, but at the same time he is.
"How do you plan to obtain cards? 1) Find them yourself. 2) Trade for them. 3) Steal them. Which method will you use?" Puhat spoke. I had to say this guy was smart.
"3…" The guy who brought us here said dejectedly.
"I assume you mean to use all three methods, but 3 will be the primary method." The African guy stated. I had to admit, using the third method would be the easiest for it can insure you can get the cards you want, but just thinking about killing someone for it sent shivers down my spine.
"What so you'll still use force?"
"No! We won't use violence to reach our goal." Peacekeepers much? I thought sarcastically.
"Spells. You'll use spells. Am I right?"
"There are certain spells for taking cards, and there are cards that defend against those spells. We'll focus on monopolizing these cards. We're going to use the very transformation limit that's frustrated the players. This is the only way to clear the game."
"I have met many players, and they all reached the same conclusion. Even if you search for cards, they'll be taken from you eventually." Genthru said.
"Because this game is based on players taking cards from each other. We will ensure that we can take cards from other players, while mitigating our risk of losing cards." I glanced at Gon again, seeing that his eyes were narrowed at the man who had just spoken.
"You're leaving out something important. Upon clearing the game, how will you split the reward?" Puhat asked. The second Leorio.
"You were hired by Mr. Battera, right?" A chubby guy asked.
"So you knew who we were when you invited us."
"Yeah. Mr. Battera also hired us to play this game."
"That means the reward will be 50 billion." The leader of this small group said. "We'll split it among everyone who helps.
"Currently, we have 53 players. It'll take two months to collect the remaining spell cards, and one month to get the cards we need. We can finish in three months." The weird hairstyle guy spoke.
"Of course, if you join us, we'll remove any spells cast on you." I saw Killua and Gon tense up at the sentence.
"What about you three?" He asked.
"Yukiko, Killua sorry."
"Hmm? What?" Killua asked him.
"I'm out. I'm playing this game on my own." Gon stated bluntly and angrily, followed by him marching away. Killua immediately followed.
"You heard the leader. I have to pass." Killua looked at me.
"Go on. I need to do something first." He looked at me in surprise. "Don't worry. Go with Gon first." I whispered to him. He narrowed his eyes at me but nodded his head.
"Oi Gon! Wait up!" Killua cried out and left.
"Oh, so you're ditching your boyfriend to join?" I heard Puhat whistle. I turned to glare at him.
"For one, what the heck would you know? Two, I'm not doing anything of the sort so shut your blabbering mouth." I said rather impolitely. He looked at me in surprise and I saw Bisky's Lips twitch upwards to grin. I called out my binder and all the senior members almost did the same but I spoke.
"Don't bother. I don't have spell cards currently and you know it." I looked at the leader and took out and pointed at a card. "Can you tell me what this is?" I asked pointing at the card.
"That's a pet." My eyes went wide.
"A pet?" I repeated. There were no pets in Greed Island so what is going on? Ah, crud. I changed the plot again.
"There are eggs you can buy at some shops. You give it a drop of blood and it'll hatch into something and whatever it is will be loyal to you." He told me and I nodded my head slowly and called my book back.
"Sorry, but like my friends, I'm backing out. What you said about the game was pretty insensitive to one of them. Anyhow, good luck." And with that said, I ran and left.
It took me a long time to find them, but when I did they were talking. I hide in a street alleyway and used Zetsu. I didn't want to interrupt this part.
"But this means Yukiko will be stuck with that spell for a while." Gon had said. I looked down as guilt hit me. I feel like a burden.
"Oh, that's why. Then shouldn't you be apologizing to Yukiko?" Killua asked.
"Well, you seemed angrier about then she did." Gon said sheepishly and I clamped my mouth to hold back a giggle.
"True, but as long as Yukiko's fine with it, it's no big deal." I could hear it in Killua's voice that he was lying. He really wants to kill that guy. Too bad Phinks and Feitan will get there first.
"But you two are playing this game to help me find my dad…" I frowned at that.
"Anyway, why were you so mad?"
"Because they had nothing but bad thing to say about the game Ging made, like how it's based on killing and stealing. I want to do what Ging said, and enjoy the game. When I first started, I knew it wouldn't be easy. That was because I thought all the players enjoyed playing the game. People have died. But it's the player mentality, not the game that scares me. They're willing to hurt other to get cards." Gon spoke. I let myself slide down the wall. It's nice to think of things the way Gon does before harsh reality hits.
"Really? I think it makes sense." Killua said rather bluntly.
"Killua, you really mean that?"
"That's why this game is meant for Hunters."
"But…"
"Killing is wrong." I felt a pang against my chest. "I agree with you on that part. If two players have a fair fight with predetermined rules, and the winner gets to take a card?"
"Th-Tha's acceptable." Gon stuttered with that reply.
"See? When that guy cast a spell on Yukiko and when those guys carry out their plan, they're just following the game's rules." Killua persuaded. I wanted to laugh. Killua is surprisingly good at killing Gon's anger. I can never do that, I'm not good at comforting and I'm always the one in need of it. I hate being weak. I told myself in my head.
"Yeah…" Gon replied.
"Though it does still feel lame. Well, forget about them. Let's enjoy this game." After Killua said that, I covered my ears. I was planning on listening to this part but I felt like I shouldn't anymore. I thought about Killua's answer to the reason he entered the game before think about mine. The reason is obvious. It's because… I immediately stood up and ran after the boys. I jumped-hug Gon and Killua from behind.
"Ah!" They both yelled out in surprise causing me to laugh.
"I'm back! Missed me?" because…This friendship is all that matters to me.
We entered The Rock-paper-scissor contest right after and in a few minutes, we were already in the semifinals and I was against Killua. I let out a smile at him and he did the same.
"Semi-Finals, round 6! Ready…Go!" I mentally laughed at how serious the ref sounded.
"First comes rock… Rock, Paper, Scissors!" I let out a grin as he took out a paper and I took out scissors.
"Yukiko Wins!" The ref announced.
"Wha- How!" I gave him a peace sign as my smile widened on my face as Killua looked defeated.
"Too bad, Killua!" I said with a smirk. Sure he was supposed to win, but I can't help being lucky. I then had my fight with Gon.
"First comes rock… Rock, Paper, scissors." We said in unison. This time I pulled out a rock and he pulled out scissors. I jumped in success and the ref call out my win. Gon held his head in defeat.
"Congratulations. Here is your prize, the Sword of Truth." The guy said handing me a sword which I happily took from him. It turned into a card a second later.
"Book." I called out and placing it in my numbered slots for now. When we got out, I showed them the card.
"It's a restricted slot, #83" I told them with a grin.
"Ugh, how did you beat me?!" Killua whined and I laughed
"Yeah Yukiko, How did you do it?" Gon asked.
"I was lucky. End of story." I replied with a laugh. We slowly started walking down the street as we peered into my book.
"The problem now is how we protect the card." Gon stated.
"We don't have any defensive spell cards." Killua added
"That would mean our next stop would be Masadora." I told them.
"Wait, kids!" A voice said from behind us. I boredly turned my head to look. "H-hand over the Sword of Truth! Do as I say and I won't be rough with you." I let out a sigh at the threat.
"No way, stupid." Killua said and we continued on our way.
"W-wait! Book!" As soon as we heard that, we jumped away and the other two called out their books. "Hmph, you're bluffing. I know that you just started this game. You have no defensive spells and all you would have in you restricted slots is the Sword of Truth. This is Thief! This spell card lets you steal one random card from another player's restricted slots! Take this… Thief on! Attack Yukik… Eh!" The man shrieked in surprise as Gon stole his card.
"Haven't you been training at all, Mister?" Gon stated before tossing back the card. "Next time, I won't return your card." He slowly walked back to our side and I gave him a high five.
"You must be an amateur. I'm impressed you got into a game for Hunters." Killua said bluntly. "But that was very educational. An attack spell won't kick in until you finish the chant."
"Th-That only works against weak players!" He literally just called himself weak. I laughed in my head and started to walk away. I felt something swipe at me and I ducked, followed by a kick which I jumped up to dodge and immediately backed away. A group of pro Hunters surrounded us and I glared at all of them.
"If you want a card, you take it from someone. Only fools would participate in tournaments." I twitched and glared. "Understand, kids?" I cursed at him, but took out the Sword of Truth from my restricted pocket and tossed it like a frisbee towards him. He laughed as he caught the card and they walked away.
Gon slammed his fist onto the stone steps. We found a spot to sit at after I tossed away our card.
"I'm so pissed!" Gon exclaimed angrily while I curled into a ball and let my anger fume off me.
"Just forget it. Those guys were obviously pros. At least we didn't waste too much effort." Killua stated and poked me on the cheek to calm down. I glared at him and bit his finger. "Ow!" He yelled out and glared at me. I let out a smile. At least that calmed me down.
"Dang it! Then I'm going to start getting spell cards." I piped up as I remembered something.
"Oh yeah! Book." I called out. The two boys turned their heads at me in confusion. I took out the pet card. "Gain." I stated. A large egg popped out of the smoke and into my hands.
"Wow!" Gon said happily.
"What is that?" Killua asked.
"It's a pet. I have to give it a drop of my blood and it'll hatch." I looked at the egg in more detail. It was as large as my two palms and was a light gold that slowly turned into a sky blue, and it had two cute miniature angel wings on top.
"Isn't it a little creepy to give it a drop of blood?" Gon asked, tilting his head to the side.
"I dunno. But it says it'll hatch if I give it a drop of blood." I told them. I brought my finger to my mouth and gave it a hard bite and it bled. I held my finger out and on top of the egg. A drop of blood dripped down and planted itself at the top of the egg before it blew up. No, not like smoke appeared, it literally blew up. My eyes grew wide and the shell burst into a million pieces and gave me a few cuts here and there. When the smoke disappeared, I choked on air. Killua and Gon let out a similar reaction.
"What?" I muttered to myself. I got an angel pet, which was one surprise since I thought I was going to get some kind of animal. What was more surprising was my pet looked exactly like Hana! The angel was small; she could sit in the palm of my hand, no problem. She had long gold blond hair and her eyes were the same sea blue color. She wore a flowery gold and white dress with 2 pale blue slippers. To add with that, she had two little white wings on her back, followed by a silver crown in her hair.
"H-Hana…?" I mumbled slightly. She glanced at me before giving me a curtsy.
"Thank you for my name, Hana, Yukiko-sama." Someone kill me right now, this is not right. I thought before chocking again.
"Y-Yukiko-sama…?" I muttered under my breath before moving on to the more important question. "What the heck is going on?" I exclaimed in complete shock, turning my head side to side frantically to look at Gon and Killua. Gon was gaping like a fish with his eyes wide while Killua seemed frozen in time.
"How am I supposed to know?" Killua replied, easily snapping out of his trance. I let out a sigh to calm my breathing.
"Let's go to an information guy. He can help out. Besides, if we're heading to Masadora, we need a map." I told them, killing all the shock in my body. The green haired boy nodded his head at me and stood up.
"I'll go ask around." Gon told us.
"Be careful." Killua stated to the boy before he ran off with a wave. Hana sat on my knee and stared at me blankly. Another thing about the Little Hana was that she hadn't smiled yet which is different from the actual Hana since she always smiles
"You're bleeding." Killua suddenly stated and I turned my head to look at him.
"Eh? Where?" I asked him and stared at my hand and examined them.
"Not there." The boy said and I was about to look at him when the boy licked the side of my cheek. I inhaled sharply at the contact and almost screamed in the process. I shoved the boy away from me lightly.
"What the heck do you think you're doing!? You just licked me! What are you? A cat?" I rambled embarrassedly, my face heating up easily. The boy merely laughed at my reaction and I hit him multiply times for. Gon came back a while later, telling us where we can get some money. Killua and I stood up and little Hana flew up and sat on my shoulder. We headed off, first selling our 3 Galgaida for money which was 120 000 Jenny.
"That's a lot of money for some random fish thing." I stated, petting little Hana on the head.
"They were pretty valuable. We don't need to worry about money now. Let's buy some food and water, so we can start for Masadora!" Gon exclaimed.
"We need to get a map first and find out what to do with my pet here. Let's go find an information guy and buy a map." I told the excited boy. We found the info guy and examined the maps. One was the detailed one and another one was blank. We bought the blank one for 20 000. After that we paid some more for how to get to Masadora and about my pet.
"This pet is a rare one. You don't usually find angel pets. This one can heal injuries and the closer you are, the stronger she can heal injuries. But she can only heal her owner injuries to the finest." Was what the guy had said. For an example, I had her heal some of the cuts I had, especially the one Killua had "touched". They healed up rather nicely. I had to hit Killua for teasing me about how they don't have to worry about me getting hurt anymore.
"All right! Off we go!" Gon exclaimed as we started on our journey.
"Please wait!" A voice cried out behind us. We turned around and I stared blankly at Bisky. "I beg you!"
"What?" Killua asked.
"Please let me join you!" Bisky pleaded, her pink eyes shining.
"Oh, sorry. Can't." Killua apologized. I bit back a laugh. It's funny seeing Bisky act like that.
"Wh-Why not?"
"You'd be a nuisance." I hit the boy on the head for that.
"Don't be rude now." I scolded the boy. He gave me a teasing smirk.
"Jealous?" A blush came on to my face and I kicked him in the shin. He immediately yelled out in pain.
"Shut up!" Gon laughed awkwardly at the scene we were causing. We ended up forgetting about Bisky since Killua and I were bickering and Gon was trying to stop us. Bisky trailed behind us.
We entered a forest and it was getting dark now. 80 kilometers in a day? I repeated in my head. I looked at Hana who was flying beside me. I don't know why she settled with flying, she she could just sit on my shoulder and enjoy the ride.
"Hey, what should we do about her?" Gon asked and we glanced behind us.
"Just ignore her. Once the bandits show up, we'll have to ditch her." Killua replied.
"How gentleman-y you are." I stated while rolling my eyes.
"You love me for a reason." Killua teased as a reply. My eyes immediately snapped at him with a blush and I almost ran into a tree in the process.
"Dang you." Killua laughed. It was dark now and we were dashing all over the place, Bisky still following us.
"I didn't think she'd keep up this long." Killua muttered.
"She passed the test, she has to be strong. And she's a Hunter like us." I told the boy. We stopped in out tracks as a couple of bandits appeared.
"Let's take them." Killua stated and Gon and I nodded our heads. They all ran towards us and jumped. We got into a battle stance but then they bowed in front of us.
"Please help us!" They begged. They took us to their home where a young child was sleeping with heavy breathing. I rolled my eyes, but as soon as I set eyes on him I couldn't but pity him since he looked so much like one of the boys in my orphanage but then rolled my eyes again because they weren't even taking care of him right! I didn't bother listening to the story but I almost went up to the boy to help him but Killua held me back.
"It's just an NPC, no matter what you do, it won't help." I pouted at him.
"At least let me seem nice." I told the boy. I asked one of the ninja/bandit for a bowl of cold water and changed the towel for the poor boy and instructed the bandits on what to do for him.
"Cold… So cold…" I rolled my eyes. I put a cold towel on your head; of course you'll be cold.
"Ah! If his body gets any colder, he'll die before we can get him the medicine! If only we had some children's clothes!" The father yelled. I petted little Hana so she would get off my shoulder and handed him my cloak. Hana flew up into my hands and played with her a bit and laughed at the comment the elder made how we are angels. In the end we got nothing.
"We got nothing?" Killua said angrily
"We lost out clothes, and now we're totally broke." Gon stated
"Well it's what you get for thinking you would get something." I told them
"It's what you get when you pity and NPC." Killua sarcastically replied back, making me glare.
"But once we get past this mountain, we'll find lots of monsters, right?" Gon asked happily though.
"Yeah. If we beat them and turn them into cards, we can sell them for lots of cash."
"This is going to be fun!" I exclaimed happily.
"We finally get to start fighting!" Gon added in
"Time to see what you've got." Killua said after him.
"I can't wait to see." Was my reply. Though I already knew what they're ability is.
"I wanna see what you accomplished during your secret training." Gon spoke after I did. We got to a cliff and we peered out of all the large mountains or rocks.
"This area is rocky…" Gon stated. Suddenly, we heard a shriek and I saw Bisky on the ground a few meters around us. I walked to her.
"Oi! Yukiko! Forget about her." Killua called out, but then Gon followed my example so he simply grumbled under his breath and walked towards her as well. I examined the older but young looking woman. She didn't fall or anything in the anime, and I didn't do anything to change that. I think…
"Are you ok?" I asked to the blond. No reply. Is she unconscious? I thought to myself. There's no way though, if she tripped she would be fine and nothing should've hurt her. But she wasn't responding.
"I think she's unconscious…" I stated slowly. I tried to lift the girl up but she was surprisingly heavy, or maybe I was too weak. Either way I couldn't do so. Killua let out a sigh and picked her up in a bridal style without any trouble. I pouted slightly. Before Killua could walk away and abandon her somewhere, Bisky pressed her lips up to the side of Killua's. All of our eyes grew wide and my hands clenched into tight fists and I literally exploded in anger. Killua dropped the girl immediately and she hit the floor with a thud. The girl looked like she was about to explode at the boy for so harshly dropping her onto the ground before freezing and turning to me wide-eyed. Gon and Killua were the same.
"Y-Y-Yukiko…" Gon stuttered uneasily and beads of sweat trailed down his forehead.
"What?" I replied angrily, snarling at the boy. The boy jumped in surprise. Did I do something?
"C-Calm down! Don't be so angry that you have to let out such a large aura!" Killua told me and my eyes grew wide after finally understanding what was going on. I was letting out a large amount of hostile intent, mainly towards Bisky because I was angry at her for kissing Killua. I guess that's normal since Killua is my boyfriend and someone else just kissed him. Maybe that's why Bisky is partly frozen. I brought a hand up to my face and covered my eyes and let out a shaky breath and raised my other palm towards the other three.
"I-I'm fine… I just need to… blow off some steam." I told them before taking a few slow steps and slid down the cliff.
"Wait! Yukiko!" I heard Gon call out for me, but I ignored him. A bunch of one-eyed giants appeared from behind the mountains. One swung its bat down at me. I immediately jumped away then onto its bat and ran up to its face and giving a hard punch to the eye. It became a card and I fluttered down. I opened my binder and placed the card in. I looked over at Hana who was hovering around me. I gave her a smile and petted her small head before continuing on defeating monster after monster. I ended up with 20 or so cards of these guys. I took another breath to calm myself down some more. Beating up something is always a good way to kill some anger in my opinion. I'm at least happy because I know Bisky won't like a brat as she puts it and Killua won't like a hag as he puts it. A pair of arms hung over my shoulder all of a sudden and I froze as they pulled me close.
"You're not mad at me still?" Killua asked me. I eyed the floor in embarrassment.
"I wasn't mad…" I mumbled quietly. That was one big lie.
"Pfft. Yeah, you didn't just let out a large malice aura that was as scary as Hisoka or Aniki." Killua said sarcastically. I pouted at the ground slightly.
"I'm sorry." I said softly with guilt. "I got angry over something stupid." Killua nuzzled himself into the back of my head and I couldn't help but relax with his arms around me.
"You ok now Yukiko?" Gon's voice came up and I turned my head slightly to look at Gon. He had his binder out and was placing cards in it, while behind him were a group of dead Cyclops. Killua unwrapped his arms from my shoulders and stood at my side.
"Sure I guess." I replied. "You guys should've put them into your binders as soon as you defeated them." I scolded the boys. They laughed nervously.
"We can do this. The monsters come with weaknesses. If we stay calm and think, we'll be fine. Okay! Let's head for Masadora, then!"
"Yeah!" I cheered with Gon after Killua's statement. I wonder where Bisky is now. I randomly thought. We walked a few meters before an explosion came in front of us and we were face to face with a large lizard. We immediately ran and I grabbed Hana in my hands as we did so since she had stared blankly at the monsters. We hid behind some mountains and waited for it to leave. When it did we let out a sigh of relief. I saw a little fur ball a few steps away from us. It spotted us and immediately started dashing around us. Before I could even react, it hit Gon right in the face.
"Gon!" Killua and I went in surprise
"I'm fine. That didn't hurt at all. This one's weak." Gon said as we glanced at the monster. It dashed around us.
"But fast!" Killua exclaimed. We tried to catch it. I looked around, remembering that I should think about where it'll go instead of where it is. I clapped my hands together, catching its tail. My eyes grew wide but I accidently let my hand drop so it got away.
"Dang it! I caught it for a second." I whined but then paused. I looked around. "Eh? Hana?"
"Yes, Yukiko-sama?" A small voice spoke. I didn't realize it before but it sounded a lot like Hana. I looked up since that's where I heard it and realized she had been on top of my head. She's probably got tired.
"Just Yukiko please." I told the little girl.
"Ok, Yukiko" And with that, we started back running and a while after we heard footsteps and stopped and saw Bubble Horse. It blew a mouthful of bubbles at us. A few white ones hit me and I let out a small shriek as it let out a strong vibration. When I looked back up, the horse was gone. Killua turned to a white bubble and poked it with his finger, causing it to pop.
"It's loud and generates a shock wave, but it doesn't do any damage." Killua told us.
"When you touch them, the red ones don't pop." Gon stated as a red one bounced off his finger and hit a rock and exploded. We stared at it in confusion but decided on going on our way. We ran into a worm, a flying box thing, a bunch of flies and a slime before running into a knight in armor.
"This one looks tougher." Gon said happily.
"Gyo!" A voice screamed behind us causing us to turn around. A twist of anger stirred in my stomach but I ignored it. "Keep your eyes on it! Use Gyo! Don't you know how?" Her voice echoed off the walls and I immediately did what I was told and saw a long line of yellow Nen forming and going behind the rock. "See that? The armor's just a puppet, so attacks won't work against it." Bisky yelled at us. Killua and I distracted it while Gon went to find its source. The armor fell apart in front us and Gon came back.
"I got the card!" The boy told us and showed us the said item. Bisky jumped down from the high up she was on before. My anger flared again.
"So you can use Gyo. Why didn't you use it before?" I looked away nervously. The boys did the same. "So you forgot." Bisky lifted her finger up and because I hadn't turned my Gyo off yet, I saw the number 1.
"One?" I asked curiously. Bisky nodded her head and the boy looked at me and used Gyo as well.
"Good. Listen up. If I lift my finger, you use Gyo. And then you holler out what you see. If you ever sense anything suspicious, use Gyo. Got it?" I nodded my head immediately, accidently sending Hana tumbling off my head but I luckily caught her.
"Wait, why are you ordering us around?" Killua asked angrily, and a small pink tint on his cheeks. My eye twitched and I turned my head away slightly. Bisky put her finger up. I immediately yelled.
"5!" Gon and I yelled.
"Correct. You drop and give me two hundred push-ups." She commanded and pointed at Killua.
"Huh?" Killua went.
"It's your punishment! Get to it!"
"What the heck? Why should I?"
"Got a problem?"
"You bet! Who do you think you are?" Killua asked.
"She's Biscuit Kruger, a pro Hunter." I replied for her. I shouldn't let my jealousy get to me and end up hating her. Bisky is one of my favorite characters.
"Oh, so you've heard of me?" Bisky asked and I nodded my head stiffly and turned my head to glare at the floor. But I can't help staying mad.
"Eh? Yukiko, you knew all along?!" Gon asked in disbelief.
"Why didn't you tell us?!" Killua added
"I could tell she was acting when we first met. And it was funnier seeing you act like that when she could probably wipe the floor with us." I said with a grin but then looked at the ground again. "But I didn't think she would kiss you." I mumbled under my breath. Bisky glanced at me.
"I can't say I enjoyed it. This boy's all yours. As long as he doesn't do anything wrong." Bisky told me and I stared at her blankly for a moment, clearly surprised at what she said but grinned.
"No hard feelings." I replied and she gave me a small smirk.
"I first learned Nen forty years ago. I'm going to use my wealth of knowledge and experience to coach you kids. You should be grateful." The woman said, mainly to Gon and Killua.
"Forty Years ago?!" Gon exclaimed in shock.
"You're an old hag!" Killua insulted on the spot and Bisky gave him a good punch that sent him flying.
"Ah! Killua!" I called out as I watched his body land with a flop. I almost laughed though. Killua took some time to come back and with that we continued our conversation which I mostly ignored. But immediately snapped back to when I was called.
"The girl had almost caught it but made a carless mistake and let it go. But this proves the girl has rather more experience or has better common sense." Bisky said and I let out a nervous laugh and rubbed the back of my neck. "The problem is there are many people who could have effortlessly obtained this card, while you three could not. If you run into someone who's stronger and has evil intentions…"Hana shot right up from her seat on my shoulder while Bisky gasped. "Sit down… Pretend we're chatting." Bisky commanded. We did as we were told. "There's an enemy behind me. Don't probe for him. He'll notice." Bisky said as I smoothed Hana's hair with my fingers.
"How did you sense him?" Killua asked her.
"He let a tiny bit of bloodlust escape. The enemy saw a bunch of kids, and he relaxed for a second."
"Doesn't that mean he's weak?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.
"He immediately concealed his presence again. It was only the slightest of bloodlust, and he quickly concealed it, so he's pretty good." Bisky replied my question.
"What should we do?" Killua asked
"What do you think?"
"We four should move together." Gon replied.
"Why do you say that?" Bisky questioned
"I'm guessing he decided to use caution because there are four of us. If we stick together, he'll be less eager to attack."
"I agree." Killua added and I nodded my head as I watch Hana fly around in front of me. What is she doing? I asked with a sweat drop.
"Well, you're right. But that's not what we're going to do. If I go off on my own, the enemy is one hundred percent guaranteed to attack me. I'll go south. You kids, go north. Walk five hundred meters without concealing you presences. Aim for that pillar. Once you get there, use Zetsu, and then rush back immediately."
"Okay, stalk the stalker." As soon as Killua said that, I was not expecting what was going to happen next. All I could feel were my ears ringing and my mind spinning as my cheek started to sting. I got slapped in the face instead of Killua? I managed to think. Gon and Killua let out a small 'eh' as Bisky yelled.
"Fine, then! Be that way! I've had enough!" Bisky yelled in her other voice. I jumped right up; stepping on Killua's hand in the process to make sure his own blood lust wouldn't fly and pressed a hand to my injured cheek.
"Do you think I care?! How dare you hit me?! Why don't you hurry up and leave us alone! I've had enough of you're sick face!" I yelled back, using a much girlier tone than my regular voice. I almost froze to stone. Oh crud, I just jumped right into this. I cursed in my head but kept an angry face. Bisky flashed me a smirk, probably proud of me while I mouthed a really quick sorry for insulting her. She stomped her foot on the ground.
"Hmph! Bye-Bye!" she ended off and marched away in fake anger. I stuck my tongue out at her childishly.
"Bye! You won't be missed!" I let out a fake huff and turned away and crossed my arms over my chest and stomped away. Hana flew by my side and pressed her frail hand on my cheek to heal it. I muttered a soft thank you since I was still keeping up my act. I could hear Killua and Gon trailing behind. After a minute or two of walking, Killua burst out laughing. I blushed and snapped my head around and pointed at him.
"Don't laugh at me!" I yelled at the boy. But he kept laughing and I saw Gon chuckle lightly. "Not you too, Gon!" I whined
"Geez, Yukiko. That was quite a show…" Killua breathed out with a teasing grin. I glared at him.
"Shut up! I had to and you know it!"
"But that was really good acting! I didn't know you could do it!" Gon exclaimed happily.
"When you're a good liar, you can be a good actor or actress." I huffed as Killua continued to laugh and I literally strangled him, but he gave me a kiss on my once injured cheek so I immediately stopped and looked away embarrassed.
"That woman really is something, though."
"Huh?"
"I was on full alert, so I'd be ready to react at a moment's notice. But I didn't realize what she'd done until Yukiko had stood up and stepped on my hand." He stretched out the last part and I glared at him.
"If I hadn't, you might've let your own bloodlust out." We hit the pillar soon enough and turned on Zetsu and made our way over to Bisky. When we got there, I simply watched Bisky dodge his attack and flip him and hit him in the back. My eyes grew wide.
"Wow." I said in surprise.
"During that battle, what did you see first?" Bisky asked as we came out of our hiding spots.
"The guy being flipped through the air." Gon replied which Killua and I agreed to. Bisky nodded her head at us.
"Nice acting, by that way." Bisky said and I let out a smile and nod in thanks. "If he were an in-game character, he'd have a D rank in terms of difficulty. It would have been an instant game over for you. That makes that second time I've seen you barely escape death. How long will your good fortune last?" Bisky questioned.
"Bisky-san…" Gon started off but got interrupted.
"Just call me Bisky. If you insist on an honorific, call me Bisky-chama!" I sweat dropped.
"I'll just call you Hag." Killua got sent flying again, making me sweat drop again.
"Why are you here, Bisky?" Gon asked, continuing his sentence as if Killua did not just go flying.
"Well, I'm here to clear the game, but I'm mainly after a jewel." Bisky replied
"A jewel?" Gon repeated.
"There's a jewel that can only be found here. It goes in restricted slot #81… Blue Planet. What about you kids?" Killua stood back up to reply.
"We're here to clear the game, obviously." Killua said as he rubbed his punched cheek and turned his head side to side to relax his probably aching neck.
"Actually, my dad made this game." Gon replied. "I'm looking for my dad, so I thought this game might contain a lead."
"Who's your dad?"
"Ging Freecss." Gon stated simply.
"Ging!?" The woman exclaimed in shock.
"You know him?" The green haired boy asked quickly, excitement in his voice.
"You bet I do! He's famous. Chairman Netero once said he was one of the top five Nen users."
"Bisky, if you'd be willing to postpone your treasure hunt, please teach us Nen!" Gon asked
"You've finally come around? I'm a lot tougher than Wing. Are you ready?"
"Yes!" Gon and I replied in sync. The man on the ground started to cough and I immediately jumped away and towards Killua's side.
"Take out all your cards." Bisky commanded. The man let out a weak 'Book.' Bisky transferred all his cards to her own binder. "I'm going to give you a chance. You must evade their attacks for two weeks! If you're successful, I'll let you escape. If you're knocked unconscious or can't stand… I will kill you." I flinched and looked away when she said that.
"I just have to avoid their attacks, right? It doesn't matter what I do to them?" I froze stiff at the way he looked at me. It's always the same look. Same voice. Same feeling. I felt my hands shake slightly and gripped them with the other.
"Sure, but there's one rule. You aren't allowed to leave this crater. If you break this rule, you lose, and I'll kill you."
"What about us?" Killua asked, helping me snap out of my trance and avert my gaze elsewhere.
"The same rules apply. If you leave, or fail to defeat him after two weeks, you'll be punished." She turned her gaze to the scissors guy. "You're the bounty Hunter Binolt, right?"
"Yeah." His voice was weak, but you couldn't blame him for it. He got beaten up by the every so strong Biscuit Kruger.
"There's a bounty on his head, as well. He's a brutal murderer." I looked out, seeing the sun starting to rise.
"Begin!" We separated ourselves from the man, creating a large amount of distance. Gon stood in front of him, Killua and me from behind. Binolt went on his knees to rest.
"Why are you standing around? He's trying to heal up! Are you going to let him?" Killua rushed up to him and the man immediately sliced at him. Killua twirled in a bunch of 360's in the air before landing beside me, a cut forming underneath his eye. Gon attacked next, but stopped from his quick step when a pair of scissors got pointed to his nose. I went right when Gon started to back up, I was about to send a kick to his face, but he was quick enough to raise his arm up to slice my leg so I used my hand as leverage and did a semi cartwheel to get away. As I did so, he made another slice, this time cutting off a few centimeters of my hair. My eyes grew wide as he picked it up and let out his Nen. I quickly remembered a few things. He can learn anything about his opponent if he eats their hair. He could learn something about me that I don't want him to know. He could end up saying it out loud! I didn't want him to know. I didn't want anyone to know. I quickly grabbed a loose rock off the ground and flung it full force toward Binolt. He barely dodged it and Killua and Gon looked at me in surprise.
"Don't!" I yelled at him and gasped at the slight tone of fear in my voice. I was lucky it was only a few centimeters since as soon as he dropped it, we couldn't see it anymore.
"Rocks?" Gon said to himself. "That's a good idea." Killua tilted his head and I realized I changed the plot slightly. It was supposed to be Killua who said that idea. Gon focused his Nen into his fist and hit a boulder in the crater. It broke into a thousand pieces. He picked one up before running at the man and jumping up from above. Binolt quickly jumped away and I let out a low whistle.
"Correct! You kids can't beat him in a drawn-out fight." I heard Bisky say from above.
"Makes sense." Killua said with a smirk
"Yep." I agreed. Killua and I grabbed a boulder and we all ran at him. We did this for who knows how many hours, using rocks as shields, to throw at him and every now and then using actually combat. We had finally got to that stage where we had already made this small crater into our own rocky terrain. I looked at Killua and gave him a nod before he threw a rock a far distance away. As soon as his attention moved towards it, I went to attack but dodged one of Binolt's and hid behind another rock and Gon sent a bunch of rocks flying at him. Killua gripped the scissor man's arm and was about to hit him when Gon told him to stop. Killua jumped back to our side as Binolt swiped at him again.
"Why did you stop me, Gon?" Killua complained.
"We still have plenty of time. Let's continue until we're all able to take him alone." I let out a smile.
"Sounds like a good idea." I replied with a small hum of approval.
"Stopping now would be a waste. Because we're on a roll." Gon exclaimed happily.
"Fool… It's my turn. I'll slice you up!" I flinched at the way he looked at us again.
"Sure, but let's wait until tomorrow." I anime fell, almost unable to hold back a laugh. "You should get some rest. You've been slowing down." It had already gotten dark and we rested our backs against a few rocks. I closed my eyes as I leaned on the other side of Killua's rock. I looked up towards the moon with a frown. What was I thinking? I changed the plot this time, because of a stupid reason. I didn't want him to find out about me, but was there something on that list of his that could help him find out about my situation? It's nothing big. I could handle it. I let out a sigh and brought my knees up to my chest. I wish I had a mirror now, I want to know how much of my hair he cut and how it looks now. I shook my head. Time to sleep. I reminded myself.
The next two weeks, we practiced more hand to hand combat, taking turns each day to fight him. We worked on dodging and fighting each time we had a turn, it was my turn and I think it was the last day, but I could be sure since I lost track. I had to say I had gotten a lot faster, and my attacks were more precise. We fought for an hour or so I think before I sent an upper cut and he barely dodged it as my fist only lightly bumped his chin since my arm couldn't stretch so far up to hit him.
"That's enough." He said as I slowly took my fist away and his knees hit the ground. "There's no way I can defeat you. Kill me." I looked down at him in pity before going into a crouched position in front of him.
"You know, we're alike." His eyes grew wide at my statement. "We both wanted the simplest things in life, but we never got them. Who knows why it turned out that way." I grabbed one of his scissors off the ground and heard Killua call out for me.
"Oi, Yukiko! What are you doing?!" He said. I ignored him of course and cut off a strip of my long hair. I kept it in a firm grip and placed it in Binolt's hands.
"I'm sorry for the first time. You should take this. And maybe you'll learn something." I told his with a warm smile. I stood back up while the man looked up at me. Gon came over and stood by my side.
"We won't kill you. You've helped us make a lot of progress. Thank you, Binlot-san!" Gon said with a large smile and bowed at the man. The sun dipped down again for another ending of the day and we stepped out of that crater and watched the man.
"Go on." Bisky said gently.
"Once I leave, I'll turn myself in." Binolt said as he took the barber belt off that had his scissors in and it hit the floor.
"Lead the life you've always wanted." I muttered quietly, hoping he was the only one to hear it. Gon waved to the man happily until he was only a small dot a far distance away. I took a breath and I felt lighter and freer. Maybe I used him to help myself but at least I made two lives better today.
To be continued…
How was today's chapter? I hope it was good, cuz I wasn't sure if it was too rushed or anything because it's hard to write the Greed Island arc. Anyhow, I hoped you enjoyed and tell me your thoughts in the reviews! I should quickly reply them…
Dargo(Guest): Haha, Thank you!
KuraiOkami-chan: Yup! I get conjurer all the time when I take those quizzes, which suprises me. Hm, sometimes it's hard to imagine someone as Illumi… Can't wait for your next review!
Sweet Candy180: Thank you, I tried my best on doing so. I actually thought of having Yukiko do water actually, but I scraped the idea. Sorry. XP Yeah, Chimera Ant Arc… yeah… Anyhow, Thank you again!
Retz and Amilia(Guest): Yup! Burn, Ben, Burn. I heard the reason Illumi is mean to Killua is because he cares about him or something. I dunno. Top students… -.- I did ok on my report card this term… Haha, Your welcome Amilia! Thank you! Bye!
Runriran: Yup! You'll see him in… maybe 2 or three chapters from now… maybe. Thanks!
Helen Teng: Thank you! I'm glad you liked that part. Lol! Glad you liked. Maybe because there were a lot of time gaps in the Greed Island arc… who knows? I personally like the Greed Island the most. We're all weird!
Soul reap(Guest): Haha, no. Thank you!
Cookie-chan99: Congrats! Haha, you'll get too used to it. Um, there should be a favourite/follow button where the review box is and where the summary of the story is… I think. They might've changed it again. I posted a Valentine Special as a different story, check it out maybe?
DeadlyVampire-DayDream Corp: Welcome to the fandom! Everyone loves Killua here! No that's a lie, we have Kurapika and Gon fans here too. And other people who don't matter… And Leorio. Don't spoil yourself!
xxMagicofSweetsThoughtxx: Same! *high five* You will hopefully see teasing next chappie! Haha, I'm glad you liked that part. I can't wait to write it all too!
Claro y Volcan: Opps… I'm sorry, I did not know that. I'm not very big on the Nen intake…Thanks anyway!
Sakura Hyuga: Yup! I wonder as well… maybe 30 chapters? 40? Idk. The manga's on hiatus and soon the anime. Maybe, maybe not.
WeirdySpeck: Thank you!
Thanks for all the reviews! Ja ne!
