Cybercommand Ship

"Cyber units 7-15 report to the command centre for update," said a robotic voice. Jenny looked out from her hiding place to see a group of Cybermen going up the corridor. Using a silenced energy pistol, she shot out the cameras as she passed, following the Cybermen to the ship command centre. The Cybermen entered the room and marched off to the side. She couldn't see much from her position, so she ran into the room silently.

"Restrain her," said the same robotic voice. She looked up, just as several cybermats surrounded her, attaching to her bare skin. If she moved, they would electrocute her. She was safe from death for the moment. A shock passed through her arm, just enough for her to drop her weapon.

"Did you really think you could take down an entire Cyber legion on your own?" asked the same robotic voice.

"Are you a coward?" asked Jenny "Because if you don't mind, I like to face my enemy when they capture me."

In answer, a light turned on, illuminating an enormous machine. It was so big, that a hole in the roof of the area of the ship they were in was needed to allow it to stand there.

"I am the last Cyberplanner," said the machine. Blue light flashed from a small screen as it spoke "But you are something new."

"I think your right," said Jenny. Immediately golden energy shot from her arms, throwing the cybermats against adjacent walls, smashing them to bits.

She pulled a compartment open on her vortex manipulator, and pulled out a small sheet of what looked like metal. She then ran towards the cyberplanner, dodging blasts from cybermen. She placed the copper sheet over the blue light. The cyberplanner immediately powered down, as did the other Cybermen in the room."

SHIELD Helicarrier

Suddenly, all the shooting stopped. Coulson looked around the door they had been defending. All the Cybermen were frozen, like futuristic metal statues.

"What happened?" asked Ward "Why did they stop?"

"I don't like this," said Coulson, then turned on the comms "Simmons, Fitz, Skye, where are those pulsers?"

"Just coming, AC," said Skye "I hear the sounds stopped, are the Cybermen dead?"

"I don't like this," said Coulson "Bring up the pulsers, we'll stay alert."

Cybercommand Ship

"Rule 1 of battle," said Jenny "Know your enemy. Your weakness to copper has always been an underutilised advantage, so your people have not used it. What have you got to say for yourself?"

Jenny wasn't expecting it to reply, so she was surprised when the Cybermen around her powered back up, as did the Cyberplanner, the copper over the light burning out.

"Advantage nullified," said the Cyberplanner "Take aim."

"Really?" said Jenny "Death by firing squad? Isn't that a bit old fashioned, even for you."

The Cybermen around her took aim at her.

"Wait, I forgot to tell you rule 2 of battle," said Jenny "Always have a backup plan."

"Fire," said the Cyberplanner in an emotionless voice.

Golden energy shot from every point on her body, just as the Cybermen opened fire. The energy stopped in its tracks, being absorbed by the golden energy as it expanded.

SHIELD Lab

Jenny appeared in the lab just as Skye returned from giving the pulsers to the SHIELD agents mounting the defence.

"Skye, I need your help," said Jenny "You need to come with me, now."

"Jenny?" asked the Doctor "What happened?"

"Not now, Dad," said Jenny "Skye, with me, now."

"Why?" asked Skye "Did you kill the Cybermen? They've all stopped."

"They'll start again in a minute," said Jenny "Now come on, there's something important I'll need you to do."

Skye nodded, grabbing Jenny's arm with one hand, and her laptop under the other.

Jenny keyed her vortex manipulator, and then vanished, taking Skye with her.

Cybercommand Ship

Jenny and Skye appeared back in the Cyberplanner room.

"All right," said Jenny, as Skye looked around, speechless at the golden energy around them, and the futuristic (to her) look of the ship "Skye, focus, all right, when I give the signal, I want you to send the signal to deactivate the emotional inhibitor."

"What are you going to do?" asked Skye "Why did you need me?"

"We're going to do something that's never been done before," said Jenny, grinning "We're going to save the Cybermen."

Skye got ready to send the signal. Jenny signalled with her hand, then aimed with both her hands at the Cyberplanner. Golden energy shot at the port. Smoke poured from the Cyberplanner as it shook slightly.

"You think that'll stop me?" said the emotionless voice, crackling slightly

"I'm not trying to stop you," said Jenny. She looked round at the other Cybermen in the room. Golden energy was flowing out of every crack and crevice of them, the armour seeming to melt off them. The light was too bright to see what was really happening to them, but Jenny laughed.

"You know," said Jenny "I've seen a lot of battle, a lot of fighting, in every corner of the universe, there's always another battle, another fight, but the one thing that no one seems to see, is hope."

"What are you doing to us?" asked the robotic voice.

"Everyone deserves a second chance, everyone deserves to hope again, and that's what I'm giving these people. Hope is eternal, no matter how much you try to bury it, it will always come to the surface, and here it comes."

Skye looked over at the Cybermen, seeing the golden light fade. There was no mistaking what she saw. Where the Cybermen had stood, were humans, all young, all confused-looking, males and females of all ages.

"Because you've subjected these people to an eternity of darkness, and now they've seen the light," said Jenny "And now, I will avenge them."

She ran towards the Cyberplanner, ripping off one of the panels, sending golden energy into the very heart of the Cyberplanner. The circuits fizzled out, and the lights on the Cyberplanner went dark.

"I'm sorry," said Jenny "If there'd been another way, I would have taken it, you've got no humanity after you become a Cyberplanner. Come on, Skye, we'd better head back to the Helicarrier, tell them what happened."

Skye placed her hand on the vortex manipulator, as Jenny programmed the coordinates. They appeared on the main flight deck, to find many paramedics, Martha helping them, looking over the former Cybermen.

"I don't know how they survived," said a voice. Jenny looked round to see the Doctor "What happened, Jenny, what did you do?"

"They were being controlled by a Cyberplanner," said Jenny "I sent regenerative energy through the Cyberplanner to burn away the Cyberarmour and restore them to how they were before their conversion, Skye deactivated the emotional inhibitors at the same time, so they regained their humanity as they regained their true bodies. I saved them, but the Cyberplanner was beyond my help, I'm afraid I had to destroy it."

"Only my daughter could have compassion for a Cyberman," said the Doctor "No matter how hard you might try, it's impossible to save everyone, be happy that you saved who you could."

"I'm going travelling," said Jenny "I'm leaving the TARDIS and going travelling with Skye. No matter how much I enjoy travelling with you, I'd like to strike out on my own with Skye. Maybe we'll cross paths again someday, but I want to see if I can survive on my own, no Time Agency, no parents, cause as long as I stay with you, I'll be in your shadow, and I knew someone that was forced to stay in the shadow of a relative, they were always angry at everyone and everything, I don't want to become like that. If you'll come, Skye, I'd like you to be my first companion."

"I feel honoured," said Skye "And I accept."

"We'll make sure all of these people are provided for," said Jenny "And then, we can go anywhere, anywhen you want."
