Welcome to the 20th chapter of the Wave. And boy, are they in trouble! The Annihilator has Tecton, Skylar and a lot of others, Diaz is his prisoner and Alan is still trying to figure if he "really wants it", whatever 'it' is. Anyway, first the reviews and then the chapter, as usual.

barbara-loveskoliver000: Thanks for reviewing, and here is the next chapter!

LabRatsWhore: There's finally gonna be a Mighty Med/Lab Rats crossover? Yippee! But barefoot in the snow? I'm just as excited as you are, but I won't run barefoot in the snow… and now you can read why and how it is possible Tecton's still evil. And thanks for your review!

Enjoy!

She woke up.

One moment, she was asleep and the other, Jordan was wide-awake. There were no other side-effects. She had no idea where she was, and she looked around. She was in a cage, along with Gus. Next to her, in another cage, lay Horace Valentine, Connie's father. She tried to wake Gus, but he wouldn't budge, staying non-responsive. Yet, that wasn't the only one thing that actually scared her. There was no window in this very large room. Not scary, right? No, but this was someone's very large basement and they had been brought in there. Outside the cage stood a lot of people. No big deal, right? Not when those people are all heroes you loved with one of the strongest villains of all times standing in the crowd without being attacked by one.

Wait, I thought heroes weren't real?

Jordan was confused, but then her memories returned to her. They ditched school to go after Connie – excuse me, to go after Skylar Storm. They hid while she and Titanio discussed their evil plans (even if they didn't understand one bit of it) and they stupidly thought they could attack Skylar. That was a mistake from Gus' side. He said that in the latest comic from Skylar he read she still was powerless. Now Jordan wondered when Gus last read a Skylar Storm comic, because she sure wasn't powerless anymore. They were going to have a nice talk when he was awake.

Eventually, the Blue Tornado noticed one of their prisoners was awake. Not being very talkative, Jordan wondered what he was going to do. She desperately hoped that the famous Contamination arc in the latest League of Heroes issues wasn't true and didn't infect every hero. Blue Tornado turned his head to the Annihilator. "Master," he said and then looked back at the cage. The Annihilator came closer to them, and Jordan backed away as the villain came closer. According to her, they don't draw him nearly as scary enough as she saw him now.

"Petty little Normo." He spat. Okay, she might

"What are you planning?" she boldly asked. Hey, if heroes were real, she would take her chance to be able to tell everyone she had spoken to the one and only Annihilator. She was both scared and excited, but sounded just bold.

"You'll see it when our guests arrive… if they arrive."

"And what if they don't arrive?" Jordan asked.

"Then you die," He made it sound like just something they had to take care of, as if it were just a small thing that needed to be done. Now Jordan didn't want to be bold. She wanted to curl up and cry all day because of the current situation. But she couldn't just give them what they wanted. So she just sat down and glared at the villain.

If she didn't trust her voice enough to talk, she could use one of the glares she only used for Gus to look at him. For now, that had to be enough.

"Guess what? I'm still a bad guy."

Kaz and Oliver gaped at Tecton when he revealed his secret. None of them reacted for at least ten whole seconds until Oliver eventually found the courage to close his mouth. He gulped. Tecton, the one they believed to have escaped from the Annihilator, had been lying and was still evil all those time. Some pieces were clear now, but some details still needed to be resolved in order to finally complete the puzzle. What part did Tecton play, and what part did Skylar play? Was there another player involved they didn't know about? But at least they did know Tecton was evil, but still…

"How? We saw your hand! It was purple! You were good!" Kaz nodded, finding the courage to finally move again. Tecton snickered and decided he had enough time before he could finish them off. He pulled out one of the gloves, showing them the sign on his hand. It still was purple as a precaution, but he wouldn't have to conceal the color anymore when they were done.

He knew that they knew Skylar Storm was a fellow henchman, and smiled evilly. "Let's just say Skylar Storm helped me to camouflage it." He needed not say more. He knew the boys got the hint: Skylar Storm used her camouflage power to conceal his white mark, just as she hid her white highlights for them. He stepped forward and the boys backed away.

"You violated one of the rules," he said calmly as if it wasn't such a big of a deal. "You know the punishment is death. And if you're going to argue – you were going to contact the Dark Warrior and the rules stated that if you even thought about contacting someone else, you'd be killed. So…" He didn't finish to make it sound more dramatic. He knew the staff was all around and none of them had the intention of coming to the lobby. Most heroes were turned evil and if they were not, they were not here.

The boys started to run, but they couldn't leave the lobby. He almost laughed out loud when they realized they couldn't go past the lobby walls. They turned their heads back to the villain, terrified of their imprisonment with Tecton. He wouldn't tell them they gave the force field generating device Titanio had to steal to him, so he could do this. They would not be able to leave, unless they were stupid enough to try and get past him to run back to their pathetic Normo world.

Yet, he hadn't thought someone of the pathetic Normo world would come and enter the Mighty Med. The three were surprised to see the doors slid open and reveal the one person the Normos had expected and Tecton had not.

Immediately, the Dark Warrior struck Tecton in his chest. Tecton, not expecting this, flew some feet back, but landed on his feet as well. When Kaz and Oliver saw the Dark Warrior standing there, lowering his pulsar gun, they immediately stood behind the hero, so he could protect them from the evil hero.

"Dark Warrior!" Kaz began, for they still had to ask him for help, "We have a problem." The Dark Warrior nodded, but he was more focused on Tecton. He was a hero, the one the people of this land needed. No, not because he just needed to make that reference with the fake 'Batman' (based off of him, off course) but because it was true. He probably was the only hero prepared to take down one of his own, one of his allies. It's not that he liked it… he's the only one who was able to pull the trigger if necessary.

He didn't immediately answer. "I know. And I'll take it down." Kaz and Oliver were about to say that Tecton wasn't their problem, but they were content to hide behind a gurney and watch how the Dark Warrior would get rid of the threat. But before doing that, Tecton got up again and spoke up.

"You don't want to mess with me, pal. I've got the entire League backing me." The Dark Warrior nodded.

"You're right. I don't. But as I said before: I will hurt you when I have to." As he said this, his hand slid to the utility belt he was wearing and tried to pull out his incapacitation gun – yes, he really had such a gun, you never knew when it would be handy. Tecton stepped closer and tried to bash his latest opponent. However, the Dark Warrior successfully dodged the incoming attack and when Tecton was out of balance, he aimed the gun at Tecton's chest.

Kaz and Oliver wondered what the hero was thinking right now. They asked themselves what they would have done in the same situation, but they clearly saw what the dark Warrior did in the situation: he pulled the trigger without a second thought. It hit Tecton and even if he was invulnerable, he could be stunned, a fact most fans would forget.

But Kaz, Oliver and the Dark Warrior didn't forget.

Tecton fell on the ground, unconscious. The Dark Warrior put the gun away and he walked to the two Normos. "What am I missing? The last time I was here, Tecton was a hero." Was. The two friends weren't surprised the Dark Warrior used the past simple, but still…

"Tecton still is a hero," Oliver said, "but he was turned evil by the Annihilator. He found a way to create a cover so we wouldn't notice anything. We all fell for it." Kaz rolled with his eyes; off course he'd tell them about Tecton, but not about what really mattered right now, and that was saving the life of the man who has been saving the people who save the people for an indefinite time.

"Enough of that," he said, "The Annihilator has Horace and he's dead if we're not in the basement of Tidwell Manor within two hours. We could use some help." The Dark Warrior nodded and wanted to say something, but he was interrupted by Oliver.

"We know you know Optimo and the Super-Secret Heroes in Hiding. Could you please contact them?"

"How do you know they're not evil?" The Normo hero wanted to know. There was an immediate response.

"It's the Super-Secret Heroes in Hiding. They only come out when someone needs their help, they never come to the Mighty Med and they can live as Normos because nobody knows who they really are." The Dark Warrior was convinced and took his phone. While he was talking to Optimo, they walked out – nobody noticed and the lady at the desk knew the secret (in other words: wasn't a Normo) so she didn't really pay attention to it.

Outside the hospital, the Dark Warrior was slightly insulting for Optimo because he was never really involved. Kaz and Oliver didn't pay much attention because they got to be in the back seat of the Dark Mobile. They arrived at the car when the Dark Warrior was done talking to the leader of the Super-Secret Heroes in Hiding.

"Is he coming?" Oliver asked. He just wanted to know if Optimo wasn't mad and refused to go after his small fight with the Dark Warrior, who nodded.

"They're all coming. After I mentioned Diaz being endangered, his mood changed and decided to wait for us at the Manor."

"Do you know where it is?" Kaz asked. Yes, only now he asked the question. They simply forgot because of the short battle (which you couldn't really call a battle) and him calling their allies. Luckily, the Dark Warrior knew where it was. He said, and I quote:

"I should know where it is by heart. Titanio invited me at least once a week to discuss my membership of the League."

"But you're not a member of the League?" Oliver had argued.

"Exactly." The Dark Warrior had answered.

They were on their way to Tidwell Manor, where they would find almost all heroes, the Annihilator, Skylar Storm, Horace Diaz and three guests.
