AlecReyes19: Yeah, well how did you think Slappy would react.
BookMast3r: It's about time, I guess.
Matt: I'm SORRY about the werewolf thing, I didn't think it would go well with the rest of the story. Matt and Franny are from Why I Quit Zombie School.
A-Plus Cassiopeia: That's about right. Yeah, the aliens are gone, but that's just the beginning...
Also, I'm very thankful for the positive reception this story has received. Granted, I was hoping it would be popular, but still, big thanks :D
"So, what do we do now?" Terri Sadler asked once the group had arrived at R.L. Stine's house. Once again, the group had crowded up in the living room, with Billy and Amanda at the stairs, waiting for everyone to pay attention.
"Okay, okay everyone, I know how you all feel," Billy said once all eyes were on him. "You just want to...defend this city! Destroy those monsters! Last night may have been a disaster since there weren't a lot of monsters, but tonight's a new night, right?"
"So what's the plan, genius?" Sarah called from the frontlines of the crowd, her cheeks red from anxiety. Billy rolled his eyes in exasperation; he hated it when people asked stupid questions.
"We're getting to that, but right now, we-"
The door was suddenly pushed open and everyone spun around to see who had arrived. Standing at the doorway was Matt Krinsky, holding hands with Franny.
All eyes were on Franny, who suddenly became tense as she felt the weight of everyone else staring at her. She'd spent most of her undead life surrounded by other zombies, so much that she'd forgotten what it was like to be with the living. It made her uncomfortable just thinking about it.
"Matt, who's this girl?" Amanda asked after a tense silence.
Matt swallowed a bit, now at a loss for words himself. How was he supposed to explain who Franny was to the rest of the group?
Franny herself was beginning to go a little paler than she always was. She wondered, for a moment, if this was how Matt felt when he was enrolled in Romero Academy. However, she knew she had to be strong about this.
"My name is Franny, and I'm Matt's friend," She introduced to herself. "I've taken part in his adventures at his zombie school, and I thought I'd join you guys for this."
All awkwardness ceased and the group began to relax a bit.
"Okay then, now that that's out of the way, let's focus on more important matters," Billy said passively, gesturing for Matt and Franny to join the rest of the crowd. "Sheena, could you turn on the television to see if anything important has been happening."
Sheena nodded an switched on the television screen. Everyone immediately crowded towards the screen to get a better look at the news.
"Authorities are still investigating the mysterious fire that claimed the life of Ms. Hardesty this afternoon..." The reporter was saying as the screen showed Ms. Hardesty's house, which was in ruins after the confrontation earlier.
"You know, we should probably never do that again," Amanda said as she watched the screen. "If we continue on that, we're going to get caught by the adults."
"On another news, a man has been spotted spilling gasoline on a nearby apartment," The reporter continued as the television cut to a strange-looking man dressed in a leopard cape, a tank of gasoline in his massive hands.
Instantly, Robby's eyes widened. "Hey, that's Dr. Maniac!" He shouted, recognizing his arch-nemesis instantly. "He's going to set that apartment on fire!"
Billy breathed a sigh of relief. "Finally, some action is going to start," He said, ruffing his hair. "For a moment, I thought this group thing was going to be obsolete."
The group continued to stare at the screen for a bit until Amanda suddenly said, "Hey, what are we waiting for? Let's go stop him!"
Immediately, the group began to scramble away from the television screen and towards the door, Amanda in front of them.
Billy took off after them. "Hey, wait, we can't be so hasty!" He called out to the group as the began to pour out of the house. "We need a plan!"
Sarah stopped and turned to face Billy. "Dammit, Billy, what do we need to plan?" She asked, frustrated. "There's dozens of us, and only one of that psycho! We'll just mob him! End of story!" She then turned and followed after the group, leaving Billy, ashen-faced, in the middle of the room.
Sheena ran up to him. "Don't let her get to you, Billy," She tried to comfort him after seeing his face contort into anger. "She's just upset that her mother died."
Billy's eye twitched. "This group gig was MY idea, Sheena!" He snapped, turning to face her. "And this group doesn't even acknowledge that I'm the leader! They follow Amanda more than me!"
"This thing is new to everyone," Sheena tried to explain. "You'll see. This'll all be over before you know it."
After a few moments, Billy began to pace out of the house, muttering a few swear words under his breath so that Sheena couldn't hear him. She was a little too young to listen to what he was saying.
"Great, real great," He was mumbling sarcastically. "Great way to start our new mission. Could this night get any worse?"
As Billy followed the crowd through the forest, he didn't notice several creatures wearing dirty, stained jackets peer out from behind the trees. They stared at Billy curiously with glowing yellow eyes. Then, they vanished into the darkness of the night, careful not to be seen.
