Chapter XXI - kill for your lover

Despite this all happened in a few days, Fox had already experienced much, he even cut his finger while remaining his sanity. So much has happened, just for Krystal. He thought: I have to find her and save her.

Right now, he checked his laptop. Which there are scattered numbers and letters. There is still a couple of small underscores left. Which is, ones that he did not see yet. There are too many street names he can recognize that fits with that combination.

Still, he opened another colored heart. This time the green one.

It has a picture inside, like other hearts. But this time, the thing that is different is it was like his accident: a girl was taken hostage by a robber. A man is trying to save her by aiming at the robber's head.

He thought of his pistol. And he already knew what he needed to do.

"I have to kill someone, isn't it?"

Another GPS system is inside the green heart, which can also can be connected to a car.

This time, he is not sad but determined. The car then revved its engines, and instead of slowly going away, it went out ferociously. Filled with anger and fury. He felt that his emotions changed, from depressed to shock, then to furious. He never felt that energetic. Of course, he did not forget to connect the GPS to his car.

"Your destination, this time, is Admiralty Street. Where you have to kill a person who is a criminal of bank robbery. He escaped for 2 years and you are his savior of his sins. In return, you will have your reward. Will you have the courage of being a Shinigami to save your lover?"

Fox smirked.

"Of course, killer."

It was in the evening, he quickly arrived at the place. Where he found quite interesting. Long before back in the Lylat wars, and Coneria has not known the Earth Federation's existence in the galaxy, he remembered that he accidentally smashed the building with his Arwing when he was fighting the one who failed his emperor. Surprisingly, it was built to be a middle cast residence. Fox thought that the building will not be built again.

Getting inside, he used the elevator to go to the 33rd floor which the GPS instructed him to when he arrived. But he kind of worried and regretted the choice.

"Shoot, why did I went there so fast? I should have considered for a little more...it's about killing someone...stupid Conerian law..."

Stopping out of the flat that belongs to the person who he needed to kill, he hesitated. Should he ring the bell or do a spec ops bash-in-then-shoot?

He decided to bash then shoot, but afraid that the man inside was expecting it all the time, that he would have those automatic turrets beside the door or anything to shoot him till death.

Finally, he chose to ring the bell.

A man then came out. To be precise, a hyena humanoid who seemed to be a savage, young person.

Fox saw his unpleasant face, while making sure that the GPS device saw all this.

Wearing a tank top despite this cold weather, Fox knew he is not to mess with easily. His face is ripped with scars. And he saw bits of fur missing on his body. Apparently missed during heists or anything else.

"Don't just stand there! What do you want? Drugs? Money?"

But Fox gave no response and stood there like a stick.

The Hyena humanoid then slammed the door.

As Fox rung the bell again after a minute, that Hyena humanoid burst in anger.

"I don't want a stupid-ass alcoholic or anyone else standing there and keep ringing my..."

Fox pulled his pistol out. Pointing at the man.

The man raised his hands.

"Whoa, hold on a sec. What do you want? Drugs? Money?"

As he quickly went to the back of the door and pulled out a machine gun.

"Differentiation!" Fox yelled.

"Taste Earth Federation technology of 1000 rounds per second, mindless creature!" Said the Hyena.

'Differentiation' is a gun which is designed to perform maximum division of targets. With compressing technology, a 5.56mm bullet can shrink as small as 0.1mm but can regain its size immediately when it is in the barrel. Its high recoil makes it difficult to use, but it doesn't matter. One second and you have a thousand holes in your body. Its magazine is a big one which can contain ten thousand bullets in a clip. So it can at least fire for ten seconds.

After taunting, the hyena fired. But he forgot about the recoil. And Fox, luckily, managed to run inside the flat.

The Hyena then looked back after steadying his rifle. Seeing Fox running away through the corridor.

Before he can see Fox running out of his sight in a turn of his corridor, the Hyena shot for one second.

Fox was lucky to have only one bullet hit scratching his shoulder.

The Hyena followed. In a walking pace, being unable to run as he was carrying a heavy weapon.

Fox then thought of an idea. He went into a random room, hoping that the Hyena will follow.

He did. And he said: "You are turning into the wrong way, buddy!"

But Fox remembered that he have the portable shielding device. Which Falco gave him before he went out again, in case of anything happens to the orange sun, he said.

He activated it, and the humanoid went suppressive. Not knowing that there are shields, he walked sideways while shooting.

When he discovered there are shields, the humanoid decided to shoot the shields away with his gun.

Shots fired, at least 8000 bullets were absorbed by the shields. And when the shields pop, he went out of ammo.

He clicked the gun, while Fox aimed steadily at him.

The hyena kneeled down, surrendering. After dropping his gun.

"N...n...n...now, don't pull the trigger now. You want drugs, money, beer, I can give you as much as you want. Just...don't kill me." He cried. He sobbed.

He then turned his head towards the wall.

The wall is filled with hearts, and it is the only wall that is pink. The rest are a tan-yellow only. Apart from that, there are pictures of he and his lover going around the universe and exploring while having fun. "We are so in love. Please don't kill me!"

Fox did not do much. He breathed deeply, wanting to reassure his thoughts. How, he thought, can he kill a person who is in love? He will be dead. His lover will be sad for his disappearance. This will be very awful.

But he is still a lover. Also a lover.

"I'm a lover too." Said Fox, as he pointed at his head and shot at him.

It was an instant death. Blood went out the moment that he fired. Then crimson went out of the hyena's head.

The GPS has a camera installed. And Fox, hesitating a little, moved the camera and made it film the dead hyena.

"Your reward is inside the victim's closet, 3rd compartment."

As Fox opened closet inside the room, he saw men's clothes and woman's clothes. There's also a tuxedo and a gown. Having a small card that wrote: "What we will wear at our wedding."

Fox tried to hold his tears. But did not manage to. He thought, why would he kill a person whose love is a destiny-bond-truth? He hung his head down low, but still scavenging the 3rd compartment, and found another transit card.

He used the elevator down, trying to be unsuspicious. Luckily, the security has gone out for lunch. And did not even know Fox's existence in the building. Needless to say about what he did.

When he got back to his car, he inserted the card to the laptop. And there she is.

She was still floating. But Fox can feel her life slowly slipping away. At the bottom right corner of the screen said:

'heart rate: 60 bpm

Brain activity: lower than average

Overall vitality: critical

Warning! Hypothermia!'

"Krystal!" He yelled as he leaned forward, a pain suddenly bolted from his shoulder.

"Ah!" He screamed, feeling it. "I was shot in the back. Better bandage myself. How many bandages will I need then?"

As he drove back to the motel, withstanding the pain.
