There was darkness and silence from then on. She could tell that she was in a vehicle at some point, but other than that, she was left literally in the dark.
It felt like hours later when Robin's cape fell from her eyes and she saw a sight that many have wished to see: the inside of the Batcave.
Cavernous, dark, with training courses, and large computers at one end, and the Batmobile at another.
Violet took all this in before staring back up at the Batman.
"Talk," he said. "Who are you and what are you doing in Gotham?"
"….I…I'm called Dark Angel," Violet said, regaining her senses. "I live in Gotham. I've been watching the state of the crime in our city, and I don't like it. So I thought I'd do something about it."
"This is our business," Batman said.
"You can't be everywhere at once, and neither can they," Violet said, gesturing to the other 'Bats' in a sudden burst of firmness. "You need all the help you can get. I've already proven myself reasonably capable, haven't I?"
Silence.
"Fine. If you won't accept me, stay out of my business," Violet said. "Thank you." She turned before realizing that she had no idea how to get home.
"Wait."
Violet turned. "Yeah?"
"We will talk this over," Nightwing said. "Just…hang tight for a minute." He and the other Bats moved a few feet away and started to speak.
Violet crossed her arms, thinking of what her parents must think. It was almost morning.

~One in a billion, oh~
~One in a zillion~
"Angel," Batgirl called. "C'mere."
Violet turned and walked cautiously towards the group. "Yes?"
"We've elected to let you in on it," Robin said cheerfully. "Welcome to the Bats, Angel."
Violet stared at them. "Really?"
"You need more training," Batwoman said, eyeing her. "We'll take care of that. Same time tomorrow, got it, Newbie?"
"Yes ma'am." Violet turned to Batman. "I'd kind of like to get out of here now, if that's okay."
Robin laughed. "I'll escort you out." He re-attached his cape. "Guess you don't need a blindfold if you're with us, now, right?"
"Right." Violet cocked her head. "You know, you remind me of someone."
"Really? Who?"
Violet frowned, thinking. "Nevermind. Let's just get out of here."
"Works for me."
Violet shook her head. And to think how this had all started, years ago, she'd wanted this. It felt very surreal. She didn't exactly feel exhilarated, or proud, or anything else she'd expected to feel.
She felt tired. Very tired, and she wanted to go home and see her parents, or the inside of her eyelids, she didn't care in which order.
She supposed she'd have to get used to it.
